Low premium is what is most attractive. Their selection of service providers and the technicians is not always ideal and needs an improvement. The service providers often take a long time to evaluate and finish the work, or fail to provide the reports in timely fashion to start the work.

Well first off I don't like that you give me the survey before the person even comes out because of things just like this I was given an 11 to 3 window and the person didn't even show up till 3:30 they didn't call me tell me they're going to be late I had to call them and find out they were going to be late. A lot of the contractors that Choice units are three star sometimes only four star if you want to be a five-star company only use four and five star service providers I shouldn't spend my whole day and then not even get the courtesy of a call to let me know you're going to be late when I've been waiting for 4 hours. This is not directly choices fault but it is indirectly their choice to use subpar companies.

I needed a dryer repair/service and found exhaust hose was clogged by pet hair and was not connected well with the hose being one of those that was Not accordian style and air was not going out the exit hole at all plus the heating element had gone out. The part was replaced in the dryer but the exhaust hose needs replaced and the brothers know I need it and said it would be charged separately. I agreed as I really prefer to have one in place to keep dryer heat down in my home. Still waiting for the hose but sure to bring it by Friday or Monday, and it's a holiday weekend.

I have had two opportunities to use CHW. The first was with an HVAC unit and I found CHW to be too controlling, even with very small expenses, delaying completion of the work. The second was repair of a garage door opener and it was a very good experience.

First claim on one of our properties was handled well, the technician was good. The second claim on another property was not good. The first technician did not want to come and did not return my messages. He said on the first and only call that he did not have my name on his list and that he had 108 customers ahead me. I called Choice and they changed technician to another company. This technician from " around the corner" was good He did repair the washer. It took 23 days to get it fixed. I think that was way too long. I think that maybe some of the repair companies used by Whirlpool may not b e reliable.

All services that I have reached out to Home #Warranty to address have offered wonderful service. I appreciate the fast response and everyone that they’ve sent out has been very professional. Its mostly easy when you find its covered to setup and appointment. Its all on line is a pro/ con. Elderly gave issues with getting a live person to help. I got a plan for my mother since she’s older and she struggles with getting services because she can’t easily call for services. But overall it helps me maintain our homes. One other minor issue is knowing what services are available to me. Services get dropped and added and it’s hard to know what’s covered on my plan. It would be nice since I signed a long-term contract that new services get added and or other services dropped offer in exchange. or an option to adjust plan it would be nice. Ultimately, it’s nice to be on a call and get some basic services without having to pay an expensive service fee and find out I have the wrong person for the issue.

The Staff at CHW communicated well through the whole process of our A/C claim. They were finally able to get an HVAC technician out to us after 4 days without our A/C working in over 100 degree heat. The tech was able to quickly fix the issue and our A/C was up and running in about 30 minutes! I'd give 5 stars if it hadn't taken 4 days for the tech to come out! Overall great service. Thank you!

I liked the service personnel that did the work orders. I liked when the hot water heater developed a leak that they replaced it as provided in the contract. I did not like that when the microwave went bad that they only gave me their value a cheaper microwave. I was responsible for purchasing and and had to pay the replacement cost for the installation.

The only issue we encountered was with an A/C claim,( Choice Home Warranty approved) which stemmed from an inexperienced contractor. Because we needed the issue resolved quickly, we resolved the matter by using a manufacturer-certiefied company and paid for the service ourselves .

This worked out fine but I still have trust issues with your company over my previous problem. The sales person promised everything to me but asked no questions about my needs and DID NOT tell me that you wouldn't cover 2 of the same items. In my case it was a stand-alone freezer because I also had a refrigerator with a freezer. I did not like the way I thought I bought something and then you changed the rules. I still would not feel right about recommending your company. But, with that said the people that repaired my dryer were wonderful.

I chose Choice Home Warranty because I live in a very rural area and I had another company that was happy to take my money but couldn't provide service providers when my air conditioning went out, the plumbing had an issue and my dryer stopped working. I ended up paying out of pocket and waiting for reimbursement. I haven't had to do that with Choice. I might have to wait a few days (which is why I bought a portable AC unit) and I can't use my preferred providers but I guess that's how it goes?

I previously had a policy with Choice. While I only required 1 service call it was completed on time. My new policy required. a technician to service my 16 years old Maytag washer. The call was promptly answered and it was declared that the machine parts that were required were no longer available. They sent a check for $625, but it took 1 month. This is never explained in the policy. It’s a very long time without a washer. Don’t understand why this payment could not be more speedy

Had an electrical problem on one side of our house that ended up being a bad GFI. All electrical outlets were not working despite it running the refrigerator. One outlet still not working, but wasn’t covered under warranty. Happy to have everything mostly covered and fixed; however, disappointed that the one outlet was not covered. Overall, great service.

I chose Choice Home Warranty because it was listed as the best home warranty company. I already had a home warranty with a different company, and it was time to renew, the cost had gone up, and Choice was less expensive for the same coverage, so I switched. When I had to make a claim, I was pleased with how quickly they responded, but things went down from there. My contractor was finally assigned - it took 2 days - but he was unable to do the needed repair because his tools were being repaired, so it would be at least a week before he could get here, and I had raw sewerage leaking into my basement at the time. I contacted Choice and was told I could get my own contractor and have him make the repair, but I would have to have choice approve it before any work could be done. This did not make me a happy customer, and I almost demanded my money returned so I could contract with a different company. I cooled down, jumped through the required hoops for Choice, got the repair done and last week received my refund check for paying the contractor. I am a bit disappointed that there was no one available to do the work in my area, which is what I was assured by the salesperson I talked to when I joined. I will see how much difficulty I encounter the next time I have a claim.

I was very pleased until I had a problem with my AC and the service man ,told me to send a video of what was happening to it , then he call me back and said that they had told him that it was nothing that had to do with CHOICE ,so it was nothing he coul do ,and he never came to look at it physically , I called a friend ,who gave a phone number of a friend of him , and he man came back, and fix it with a small part , he charged me $300 ,and it's been working for month ,four other times i call for my stove, (twice) and then 2. different times for my cloth washer and they were taking care very soon by some very profesional and nice workers

Generally they come through with simple repairs. Often they cannot find someone fast enough to come to do repairs. When it comes to replacement of appliances they never allow the equal of what I own. I always buy the best and they just offer a replacement.

This is a good company for small repairs. I do know if any other company would do better when it comes to replacing the item. But after you have gotten a second opinion that agrees with the first opinion, that should be enough to help pay for a replacement without looking for excuses to get out of keeping your word to share in the replacement costs.

I liked that they paid the fee for the technician to come and diagnose what was wrong with the dishwasher. I also found the people I talked with at Choice were friendly and helpful. What I didn't like is that I was careful to find a comparable dishwasher in about the same price range for the replacement, but instead of paying the full cost of a new dishwasher, I received about 75% of the cost of the new dishwasher. I had purchased the home warranty with the understanding that if an appliance failed, the warranty would pay the replacement cost. I must have misunderstood this part.

Have experienced helpful repairs; some service calls were not the best service experienced; some were fantastic. Of late Customer Service with 1- Representative was not rewarding or helpful but CHW came thru and was able to get the policy updated. For that I am very thankful and appreciate the service. Having to pay for the same problem does not make sense when the original Claim was never completed -- and reissue of new Claim is for the same issue...... but I'm grateful that the policy was restored! So very grateful. Thank you.

I was disappointed in the technician. He was very difficult to understand. He is Vietnamese otherwise competent. I also had trouble understanding your people as most had heavy accents. It was very frustrating at times getting Choice and the technician on the same page. However once the installers came out they did a terrific job.

They were able to send a technician out the next day, but I would've preferred the same day, since I filed a claim at 5am. Nevertheless, the technician was able to resolve the issue with my furnace, without him needing to make numerous trips to my home, once ordered parts came in and that's another plus.

I searched around for a while and settled with choice home warranty and so far I have been very happy. Easy to submit a claim and easy to deal with the process. The only thing I wish they did, was to allow check ups on appliances… You can only call them when something breaks. You cannot call to have your refrigerator or any of your appliances a wellness check… They don’t do that that’s my only problem.

Great job by the technicians to actually get the job done and done well! However, the initial appointment day and time changed a couple times from the initial appointment to the actual one. Hence the reason for 4 stars. Had I not been working from home, it could have been an issue. Only mentioning this because this is not the first time it has happened. Just a bit of tidying up with appointment, scheduling and communication to the technicians would help to make Choice Home Warranty exemplary.

I thought when I started that they would take care of things. One of the springs on my garage door was broken in two places. The other spring was not broken but it had been through the same things that the other side had been through. The Likly hood is that it will break is very high. I was told that they only fix broken things. The second spring is working on borrowed time. I was real disappointed when I was told that they would not replace it. When it breaks there is another $85 for us to pay out. The company that came was excellent to work with.

My heat stopped working on our house just a few months after we bought it. They did send a technician quickly but it stopped working again a few days later during an ice storm. We couldn’t get in touch with the technician or company so had to call someone else. Choice did say they would most likely cover the cost but we are having trouble getting the second company to complete all the paperwork required. I have a paid receipt but that isn’t enough. Hopefully we can get it resolved.

The service person we had was excellent. He found the problem and had the part with him. That almost never happens when you live in a small town like we do. Choice Home warranty sent a repairman that was one hundred miles away. We had to wait two weeks to get our furnace fixed but it was worth it. The repairman was polite, knowledgeable, and prepared. Done in one trip. We will use them again.

They were trying to come out to address the issue that should've been handled by the warranty and get paid as a side job. The issue fell into the scope of our coverage. Most things are good customer service is friendly. Trying to get service in my area is difficult but when they finally do find a rep to come they are professional and timely. Although it takes a while. I was out of heat for almost 3 weeks during a very cold snap. I still have not had a microwave and it has been going on since October. They needed to send out a rep who looked at it made his repair details for them a second time to say they will reimburse me for buying a new one. I requested a check and I am still waiting for it.

I've had to call Choice Home Warranty twice for service. The first time I needed a new refrigerator, and I had to wait a whole month before I received the gift card for Lowes to purchase another one. Fortunately, I had another refrigerator in the garage, but it was very inconvenient to have to into my garage every time I needed something out of the refrigerator. Plus, I did not like the fact that I was limited to shopping at only one store. My second time was just recently to repair my washing machine. This transaction went very smoothly, however, I don't think the part that the service man fixed was the part that needed replaced. It's still making a lot of noise when it agitates.

Now that I am a senior citizen I wanted to protect my appliances as they are very expensive to repair/replace. I reached out to CHW on Oct 30 at 1:24 am when I woke up very cold with my thermostat reading 59. Not terrible, but I have been waiting nearly one week now to have an HVAC Pro assigned to my claim. I chatted with them on line, twice in this interim, but just got the "bot answer", something like....... We are sorry you're cold but please have patience... Really? I live in southeast MA, it's going to be in the 30s next week . I called on the phone this morning and left my number for a call back. I was called in 18 minutes. The Rep offered a reimbursement option, but was afraid it will not be covered if the 'diagnosis' from a person of my choosing does not get approved, I'm out the full price charged by the contractor. The Rep understood and when I told her the same issue occurred and was repaired on Oct 9th, just 20 days ago, she was able to reopen the old claim and the same HVAC person I had before (and he was very good) is coming in two days. TALKING WITH A HUMAN IS A VERY GOOD THING! Thank you CHW.

I did not have any experience with home warranties. I asked around my friends, family, and neighbors. I was quite surprised to find out that they all had quite a range of different home warranty companies. None of them really stood out, but Choice Home Warranty seemed like it had a pretty good average satisfaction rating across the board. So I decided to go with Choice. I recently made a claim for my garage door opener that stopped working. Everything was fine and I am satisfied with the service, except ( according to the technician, the SOP for Choice was to always try to repair first and replacement was the final option if all else fails ). My repairs took 4 separate visits, spanning a couple of weeks due to having to order parts and waiting. The parts were major components of the opener and it did not make any sense to me, seemed faster and cheaper to just replace the whole complete unit ? He replaced a part, it failed... replaced another part, and it seemed fine. But a few days later the opener failed again. He replaced parts again and it failed. He came back a few days later and replaced the main assy, and things have been good since. Now, I understand that for a major appliance like a refrigerator, or washer / dryer, I can understand that. But a garage opener ? The repair technician was great, friendly and professional. The claims taker at Choice was also great, friendly, professional, and honestly seemed like she wanted to take care of my issue. My one and only concern is that the monthly rate for coverage is way too expensive. And this is what I hear from everyone. Some have cancelled their coverage stating that is is probably better to just set that money aside for when you need it. That is and average of about $ 700 a year. Go 2-3 years without a claim and you have $ 2,100 stashed away for when you need it. What about 5 -6 years that you don't have a claim ? Look, i'm not stupid. Its like any other insurance coverage, it's a gamble. There is always a possibility for a future expensive disaster. And when that time comes, you will be happy to have the protection and coverage. BUT, regardless, the monthly cost is still rather high. I'm on the fence about it. I'll continue to keep my policy, but I don't know for how long I can afford to do so ?
