I was hoping that Choice was better than the other warranty companies I have used in the past. But sadly choice was just like the others who do everything in their power to avoid paying legitimate claims. I found out that Choice operates the same way. They made up a reason to not pay on a claim to fix a valve on my sprinkler system. Very disappointing….

I was led to believe that I would. have coverage to include my HVAC System. I purchased my condo in August of last year. The unit received a passing grade during the pre-purchase inspection. I secured a maintenance contract providing 2 semi-annual inspections. A recently completed inspection revealed leaking of the coils. My reading of the contract (which I should have done earlier) indicated the HVAC system was not covered. Since the system was 14 years old, I opted to replace the unit at a cost of $8,000. There was also a $3,000 maximum reimbursement for anything covered per my reading of the contract. That sure would have been a helpful to reduce my out of pocket cost.

There is absolutely no communication between the warranty company, the maintenance company and the customer. You are left to figure out the next steps on your own. We had the first maintenance guy come in in February, they supposedly fired him, sent another guy 2 weeks later to do the same thing the first guy confirmed was the problem and it is now April and we are still waiting for someone to finish the job that was approved to be fixed and finished in February. I have been without a working bathroom for 3 months now. Worst company experience I’ve ever had to deal with!! I do not recommend!!

I didn't have much information on choosing a Home Warranty Company. Choice has limited companies in my area to work with. First company came and gave a quote for a new HVAC unit, out of pocket just over $4,200 out of pocket, In less then 12 hours Choice would not provide them with the equipment and were looking for a new company. New company came and gave another estimate. $6,700 out of pocket with Choice providing the equipment AND I had to appeal because for the second approval, they wanted work done that they didn't feel needed to be done with the first estimate. We had the second comapny do the work and were happy with the company, but for the frustration and an extra $2,500, we could have had the work done on our own for about the same. Everyone gives different answers for every question you have, service fee was $75 when I joined and never told of an increase, $100 now. Case Manager was the only one worth working with, but for the costs, We would have been better with a home warranty.

I’m NOT satisfied with this warranty. I have a refrigerator ice maker that has an air leak that constantly melts my ice and then freezes up my ice maker. Drives everyone crazy! This has been going on for a good while now and Choice Warranty will NOT fix the problem!! Do you people forget that your best advertising are your customers? I’m going to cancel this policy because of this issue! I am upset because I need a refrigerator that works properly! I do not recommend Choice Warranty!

The people came out to do repairs on my garage door opener and door and said I need work on my springs and other stuff but said I wasn’t covered by my coverage does cover these repairs. Also a sears technician came out to work on my mini split in the garage and said he doesn’t work on those and then charged me $75 to tell me I needed to replace my filter on n my HVAC system.

Choice created a problem by sending two different contractors to fix our dishwasher and wouldn’t help in solving the problem. They left us hanging out there to resolve the issues created by sending two different contractors. Then basically saying they didn’t know how it happened.

Read the fine print! It is not a “warranty “ if you must pay a percentage of the product and the installation cost. That isn’t even insurance. You want me to pay over $1700 to fix my A/C. That is not doable in my world.

If I could go into the negative range, I would push those stars. I bought a six year VIP insurance policy. Began to have trouble with my AC unit in the upper floor sometime ago and didn’t get a very quick response to someone coming out. When that company sent someone out at Choice’s instruction , the verdict was that it needed a leak test. If it hadn’t been been for myself and my son both calling numerous times I’m not sure we would’ve even gotten the test. Now that it has been done and the unit is not fixable, we are being told that Choice has to order a new machine, but that Choice is not paying promptly for units to be sent out to those who need them. Ones ordered last fall still have not been fought by Choice and sent so that they can be installed. Obviously, I am not happy. If I’m amazed at anything, it’s that company that had such a good writing has gone downhill so quickly.

I am a little disappointed that I paid $75 for a technician to come out and fix our air conditioner only to find out that the warranty doesn’t cover anything. As a new homeowner and client of choice home warranty, I expected at the very least coverage on the maintenance that keeps appliances running properly. I ended up paying out of pocket to have the unit fixed. I do like that It is easy to make a claim on the website but that hardly makes up for what we had to pay already and it does not seem to be worth the money.

The policy worked well for us, and the technicians were assigned in a timely manner during the first year of our policy, which was included with the purchase of our home five years ago. After that first year, we decided to continue the coverage and get a longer service contract. The quality of service has declined since then and the wait time for technicians to be assigned has increased. I am currently almost 2 weeks waiting for someone to fix or diagnose the problem with my water heater.

If the repair is a simple appliance like washer, dryer or dishwasher, I haven’t had too many issues. I have had issues getting a tech for my AC and garage door opener. Many techs won’t work with a warranty company or don’t want to just do the quick fix. I have had to wait a long time while they try to find a part before replacing the device.

The first scheduled tech never arrived. Had to message Choice a few times to get a replacement company. The new tech diagnosed the issue quickly; washing machine unit needed replacing. Choice would send eLowes card for replacement amount. Took a month before funds were disburse. If I was banking on those funds to purchase replacement, I would have been without for a full month or longer.

The local technicians actually doing the work are great! The challenges with scheduling is a real problem. Choice automatically schedules a day and time without consulting the client (me), so regardless of work schedule of family responsibility the schedule is preset. It also takes quite while to get service…..

I have signed up with CHW for my primary house and 8 rental properties for the past 2 years. I am happy with the services. It is really a worry free warranty. After paying the service call fee, all costs were mostly covered by CHW. They took care of my heating and cooling system, drains clog, sewer one and appliances. I strongly recommend CHW.

I have always been satisfied using their services before. Then my boiler needed fixed. No one called for a couple of days, then we set the appointment, and he fixed it in 20 minutes. During this time, my house was extremely hot, I had to open the windows and put my air conditioner on. I just got my oil bill which was over $1,000, When normally it is $600-$700. I haven’t gotten the electric bill yet. I would love it if Choice Home Warranty would compensate me for some of the money that I paid for oil and electricity While waiting for the boiler to be fixed. It's our Warranty company. Ark Plumbing was referred to us by Choice. Our problem is shower head heavy leaking /dripping, since 3/1/26. It took almost (2) wks today for a plumber to try to fix the leak after assessment and authorization of part from Choice. This whole time my bill is running high due to the leak. We paid $225 plus $75 service fee to Ark, but the leak is still there, I'm very disappointed. I contacted Ark Plumbing about it after (7) hrs, but still no response. I really need this problem to be solved asap. Your prompt attention to this matter is much appreciated. Thank you

I bought a one year contract with Choice Home Warranty and only had to use them one time. When I called for service on the one item, they told me to find my own repair company and then go through a bunch of folderal of me paying the bill and then getting reimbursed and this that and the other. So I just called my own repair company and got the work done quickly and reasonably instead of using Choice Home Warranty which I found to be somewhere between useless and a waste of time. Due to my experience I probably won't be renewing with them again as they apparently didn't care about me in the slightest.

Choice warranty gave me a time and date and when the technician didn’t show up, I called and the technician said that is Choice warranty saying that that’s the time we’re coming but they don’t know our schedule. It ended up taking seven full days to get a technician out to look at my plumbing issue, which at the time they got here, stopping up so they actually did nothing for $75

Well first of all I was without hot water for a whole week…. Two different companies were scheduled to do the work, they both cancelled on us. We finally went with rental reimbursement.. We had our local hardware give you a estimate and you told him his labor was too high…. He had a very hard time getting the element out so he really did deserve the total labor charge.. So my first impression of this company was not good…
