I informed Choice - they sent an email saying to contact the blockage company. The problem is, they don't do the type of work that is needed to really fix my problem.

The Staff at CHW communicated well through the whole process of our A/C claim. They were finally able to get an HVAC technician out to us after 4 days without our A/C working in over 100 degree heat. The tech was able to quickly fix the issue and our A/C was up and running in about 30 minutes! I'd give 5 stars if it hadn't taken 4 days for the tech to come out! Overall great service. Thank you!

I liked the service personnel that did the work orders. I liked when the hot water heater developed a leak that they replaced it as provided in the contract. I did not like that when the microwave went bad that they only gave me their value a cheaper microwave. I was responsible for purchasing and and had to pay the replacement cost for the installation.

It took forever to find someone to look at the garage door that is now 30 years old. The technician said they could replace the parts, it it is so old and in such bad shape that it is a good possibility that it could just break again right away since the rest of the unit is starting to wear as well. CHW said they would only pay to replace the parts, even though the technician informed that the safest thing would be to replace the unit, as the major parts needing replaced could potentially end up causing the chain to snap and harm someone. When I signed up for the warranty I was informed that if something was that far gone, it could be fully replaced. While I am grateful they are willing to pay what they would for the part replacement. I feel that given the age of the garage door opener, it was obviously taken care of and for safety reason and fiscal responsibility, replacing would make much more financial sense, as the part to fix is almost 300.00 and a new opener is 675. Meaning if that part snaps because the rest of the unit is so old and worn out, there would be another 85.00 service fee and likely another 300 or more dollars for another repair. I think this should really be reviewed and looked at again for reconsideration. Thanks

We have four warranty contracts and have been very happy customers overall. The only issue we encountered was with an A/C claim,( Choice Home Warranty approved) which stemmed from an inexperienced contractor. Because we needed the issue resolved quickly, we resolved the matter by using a manufacturer-certiefied company and paid for the service ourselves .

Contractor was contacted quickly. Technician was great. Very disappointing warranty response upon call from Technician when he arrived. Garage spring snapped, need replacement and adjusting. He advised me that the second spring was poor and should be replaced also. Choice warranty decided they would not replace the second spring and WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE ADJUSTMENT WHICH IS A NECESSITY!! Extremely disappointed & will have to consider another company when due for renewal

I have paid for this home warranty for over 2 years, now. I have rarely put in a claim. I just recently did put in a claim for my Stove Top (built in the island). The technician said he would be back as soon as the part arrived. Then I get notification that it is not covered. I have 4 burners, one is just fine, one I have to start with a lighter, one I have have to turn to "ignite" then down to low and back to ignite and then it works. The fourth one doesn't work at all. The gas line has pulled away and gas does not reach that burner. This just happened and was nothing that we did to it. I still had to pay for this visit (copay) even though you didn't allow the technician to complete. Also, when I FIRST signed up, the sales guy said that Choice Home Warranty offers a visit for heat ducts, electrical and plumbing inspection to make sure all is working properly. No one ever showed up to do this and when I asked again, they said you do not offer this benefit. To say the least, we are very disappointed and my husband wants me to call American Shield because several friends use them with no problems.

I've done 3 claims. Two claims were handled right away. The third one was to use my own service that I had a maintenance contract with. I had t jump through a few hoops to get that approved for reimbursement and reimbursements was about 60% of the cost.

The man from Sears was polite and asked what was the problem . I explained the air conditioner wouldn't stop running. It's over 20 years old. He ran some tests, checked everything out and determined it was bad wiring. He showed me the wires and replaced them. He ran more tests to make sure it was running efficiently. He was thorough with his testing and explained everything. I respect someone who takes the time to listen to what I have to say and then go about solving the problem. Very happy with this person.

However the overall customer service of CHW is poor. Multiple emails with different dates and times are constantly rescheduled. The technicians were great. They came and we’re friendly and assessed the situation and gave me clear information and their follow up was great. That all said, I would never recommend this particular home warranty company. They did not fully cover the job. They covered the labor, but not all of the materials. Typically insurance covers replacement value and this did not. I would definitely tell people not to not to use this company.

Really appreciated the personable and knowledgeable person I spoke to—Christopher didn't give me a spiel, just answered my questions and helped me compare Choice coverage to my previous (American Home Shield). AHS had jumped in price by almost $50 in one month, which was half again what I was already paying them monthly. So I was done. In contrast, Choice is much more affordable and the coverage is the same. It ended up being a no-brainer. Made the only "Choice" that made sense.

Send tech out right away and he spent time fixing the problem and said if it continues to happen then to call again and the AC stopped working again and I called and they set up an appointment to look at AC again to find out what is going on, also when I call Choice Warranty they seem very helpful with what is happening and are quick to set up an appointment so the problem can be fixed.

This is the first time I used Choice Home Warranty, and I must say I was very skeptical of the type of service I was going to get since it was Mamorial day weekend. After filing my claim online I received a response the next day, and was told they were working on contacting a contractor to address the problem with my stove. Gave me a good rate. I'm not singling out Home Warranty but it would be good if they elucidate ahead of time disqualifying things like simple scratches on the outside of a water heater that do nothing to the function of the heater but deny a claim. They sent out a shady guy anyway because after draining it it worked fine. The other thing is maybe they should also tell homeowners what is considered annual maintenance in a PDF or something accessible so the homeowner knows exactly the expectation and are also not denied a claim. These things are not made clear ahead of time. Choice is not the only one who does it. They all do it. Better off saving the money for the home warranty and hiring people recommended locally. Probably won't be getting another one at this point.

This worked out fine but I still have trust issues with your company over my previous problem. The sales person promised everything to me but asked no questions about my needs and DID NOT tell me that you wouldn't cover 2 of the same items. In my case it was a stand-alone freezer because I also had a refrigerator with a freezer. I did not like the way I thought I bought something and then you changed the rules. I still would not feel right about recommending your company. But, with that said the people that repaired my dryer were wonderful.

I chose Choice Home Warranty because I live in a very rural area and I had another company that was happy to take my money but couldn't provide service providers when my air conditioning went out, the plumbing had an issue and my dryer stopped working. I ended up paying out of pocket and waiting for reimbursement. I haven't had to do that with Choice. I might have to wait a few days (which is why I bought a portable AC unit) and I can't use my preferred providers but I guess that's how it goes?

I thought they would be different and pass on conversations to the people that needed to know when I called in and told them my phone was down for a week. Ii gave them my sister's phone number and that is all that got passed to whoever. I didn't hear about that I might have to pay 250.00 dollars until they had already took my 100.00. I f I had been told this they wouldn't have got my money. I am so angry and disappointed that I wasn't told, then they tell me to read my online info which I have none of and didn't receive anything about what it pays and don't pay. I was very unhappy with the reimbursement process for the leak behind wall issue. I submitted a claim for service. Choice's response - "We can dispatch a plumber in 4-days or 96 hours. Meaning allow water and ruin your property or belongings until our service provider arrives! Unsatisfactory in view as a water leak results in a flooded basement, etc. Suggest you change the way you do business by dispatching your service providers immediately or FULLY REIMBURSE THE CUSTOMER HIS/HER FUNDS FOR HAVING THE ISSUE RESOLVED. Why? Choice would have, most likely paid their service the provided the same amount of money. In a nutshell...piss poor service and customer care!

I previously had a policy with Choice. While I only required 1 service call it was completed on time. My new policy required. a technician to service my 16 years old Maytag washer. The call was promptly answered and it was declared that the machine parts that were required were no longer available. They sent a check for $625, but it took 1 month. This is never explained in the policy. It’s a very long time without a washer. Don’t understand why this payment could not be more speedy

Had an electrical problem on one side of our house that ended up being a bad GFI. All electrical outlets were not working despite it running the refrigerator. One outlet still not working, but wasn’t covered under warranty. Happy to have everything mostly covered and fixed; however, disappointed that the one outlet was not covered. Overall, great service.
