We were not notified that common practice required semiannual "contracted documentation" for continueing covered "coverage. We have a son-in-law who worked AC/heat and he has been our primary point of cntact to review our AC/heating unit for yrars. Now with our years long contract with CHW we endeded up with a $10,000+ bill to Keep our couverage?!!?

Because your scheduling is pathetic. I was not able to speak with anyone and your system gave me a day that did not work for me. I called back and then was able to speak with someone who supposedly changed the appointment to the following day. Well, they didn’t do their job correctly and the technician calls me while I’m at a doctor’s appointment and tells me that he is 10 minutes away from my house. Not on the new appointment date, but the original appointment date that I had changed with Choice. Simply pathetic. I will give a shout out to the technician who came and did the repair, he was great. But as far as Choice is concerned, I’m really disappointed in your system of appointment scheduling. Now want me to renew for over $2000? I’ve had Choice for 5 1/2 years and only two service calls have been made by me. You guys have certainly gotten your money’s worth from me and then some. My first claim was a plumbing stoppage and the rep. that was sent had no intention of fixing the problem, He was there to verify that what I told Choice when I called in the claim was accurate. Choice had to approve the claim and sent the plumber out a few days later to fix the stoppage. On my second claim I was made to pay my $100 service call fee when I called in the claim. When Eyebee arrived to repair the washer not spinning claim I was made to pay the $100 again or he would remove the part that he used to fix the washer.

This was my first time requiring help with an appliance and the technician had to come out three time before he was able to perform the repair. The first time to assess the repair required and order the parts. The second visit to repair the appliance but the parts had not arrived. The third after I received the parts to complete the repairs. One trip too many!

My first experience went well. I needed a new garbage disposal. The technician replaced it in less than 1 hour. On my second experience I was sent plumbers who didn’t own the tools to complete the job. The next plumber they scheduled for that job called the day before to cancel because he would not be paid by me. (He was rather rude on the phone. ) I had already paid the required fee to the first plumber. I then found my own plumber, who fixed my leaking whirlpool tub faucet. I did not use Choice, it had become too frustrating.

I've had Choice Home Warranty for a couple of years and used it a couple times. The first time took exorbitantly long for a technician to be assigned to a simple plumbing job (leaky faucet). Unfortunately, the technician also broke it worse. Regardless, after a bit of waiting for new parts, it was installed and works well. The second time was just over a month ago. I called about my stove not working properly. One burner was overheating and would not hold temp. A technician was assigned extremely quickly and came to look at the stove within a couple days. He diagnosed a faulty burner element and an infinite switch. Since the cost was going to be $500, Choice said they would replace the stove. However, this is where I feel I received better value at my prior warranty company. Choice offered me just under $400 to replace my electric stove, which would be in the form of a e-gift card from Lowe's. They stated they were offering me the fair replacement "wholesale price" value. However, they didn't take into consideration the type of stove I had, as well as the features such as oven cleaning and convection settings. The absolute cheapest electric stove at Lowe's was about $520...which was the old-style coil burner elements. I talked with a representative, who was extremely pleasant, and she was able to increase my gift card to $485. Still not great since a comparable stove to the one I owned was around $750-$800, but I said fine, that will work. Again, here is the main issue I have with their service. The final claim happened on Dec 5th...it took them 19 more days to send me an electronic gift card. As this was right before Christmas and I had company coming over for the holidays, I needed a working stove. So essentially, I had to purchase a stove to ensure I would get a pre-Christmas delivery, and now I have gift card (received on Dec 24th) to Lowe's I need to utilize. It really just doesn't make a ton of sense. The technician they hired was great, the customer service rep was nice enough, but taking almost 20 days to send me an email gift card is ridiculous, not even counting I can't buy a stove for wholesale prices. I'm not saying their a bad company, but my last home warranty company was much better.

Because it seemed to be well recommended. But we had an oven motherboard go bad, which meant they couldn’t repair it. We received a Lowe’s gift card for ~$900, but the replacement (same brand, size 27”, similar features) costs ~$3,200 at Lowe’s. So the replacement costs us ~$2,300! Or we get the much cheaper replacement, with few available alternatives to select from, instead. Neither solution is desirable and certainly wasn’t understood when we signed up. We even had a local appliance repair look at our ovens for maintenance and diagnostics before we signed up. So this really was an unexpected surprise. Sears Home Services would’ve fully replaced, based on our experience about 12 years ago (refrigerator). Choice offered absolutely no other options for us, not even a cash card that we could use at another retailer.

I think another option to offer: a benefit coverage with your current vendor, perhaps similar to health insurance ie; in network and out of network benefits. I know that my current vendor will prioritize my service call for service within 4 hrs for emergency services

Signed up and had my heat, a/c replaced at NO cost to your company (I was ONE day before the 30 day after signing up). The after that, had to pay for the electrical box to be replaced, due to your company sent over a MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE company. Went ahead and paid the company that did the heat-a/c because it would have cost me more than 2x as much using a different company, the electrical company you guys sent to me. Made much more sense to stick with the 1st company.

Communication was extremely difficult. Your Auto system made notes regarding the fact that we did not want a particular plumbing company to come here. However, twice the appointments made were with the company. We said we would not allow here! Very frustrating not being able to speak to an actual person. Once we got the correct plumbing company, things move smoothly and we were happy.

We put a claim in as our thermostat was not working properly. We were set up iwith Comfort Solutions, LLC. The representative came out, identified that we needed a new thermostat and in 2 weeks installed it. The following week we received a letter from Comfort Solutions informing us that they no longer would be providing services for home warranty companies. We were very disappointed to hear that you other companies are not paying these companies promptly and fairly. Please explain why this is and how you plan to earn our trust.

The drain plug in one of my bathrooms broke off, rusted and corroded. I called to make a claim. "We don't cover that" was the response I got. I just paid $513.00 (with senior discount) to get it fixed. I used a plumbing company that Choice Home Warranty uses. It took about 30 minutes. Outrageous!

I chose CHW because they were offered through corporate incentives. Im not sure I'm going to stay with CHW sure to the level of difficulty of dealing with the company. I work in repair, I understand how these things work. We would NEVER make a customer jump through so many hoops all without ever even getting to talk to a human. It's despicable, honestly. I'll likely be switching to American Home Shield. Ice asked for confirmation from them that they'll repair my dryer that y'all denied without even talking to me and I still have yet to talk to anyone about this yet

Your services were recommended by the VA organization that helped me buy my house. However I have had a couple of problems that were not handled well. 1- dishwasher, I never received reimbursement for replacement. This was out of pocket. 2- when home heating system failed, resolution not resolved. 3-when shower drain was clogged, plumber assigned to the job never showed up, kept rescheduling. Decided to get plumber on my own. Cost more than your service call.

I’m still waiting for the prepaid card for $272.00 to put toward the purchase of a new dishwasher. I’ve had to go through the holidays without the use of a dishwasher. Service tech was here on Dec 23 told me I needed a new flame sensor that he would order however I never got a call back I called on Jan 2nd he told part had not come in yet. He is supposed to be here at 1 pm today to install it. I feel the process was long and no follow up. I switched to Choice in September from a company I used for years however I am not happy with this first experience with Choice.

Company is good but not keeping promises. When they sell warranty they will present as they will cover everything etc. Issue - they don't schedule tech for more then week or so. Once tech goes on site he writes report and then go back to company, you will not hear for few weeks for the resolutions. Most of the time they will deny the claim with really none justifiable cause . I have tenant moved in the home and issue started. I had open three claim for three issues. They did not cover any of them. Still, I was liable for vendor trip cost . So this warranty are not good. I am ready to cancel warranties with my all properties and handle my self with handy man when issue comes up This is cheaper and faster then paying Yearly subscription and still you end up paying charges

I liked the idea of being online but have had a few bad experiences, the places when I Yelp them are average at best so not sure what the vetting process is like. I was given sprinkler coverage as an incentive to purchase an additional year, only to be DENIED for a sprinkler issue. The company charged me cash for the service but whats the point of having insurance only to come out of pocket. I felt duped and felt like this was a terrible customer experience

I've had two issues that Choice has taken care of during my warranty period. The first was a garage door opener which wasn't operating due to a radio signal failure. It took a couple weeks before I could get a technician to my property. He fixed the issue but used used parts to do it. The second issue was a repair on an oven lock which was preventing the oven from operating. Choice contracted with Sears Home Appliance Repair who were very professional and diagnosed the issue quickly. It ends up that the older model stove can't be repaired so we're currently waiting for choice to send us an electronic gift card to Lowes to purchase another stove. Overall, it's been an a decent experience. Hopefully the gift card comes soon because the stove is in a rental property.

It was easy to start a claim, talking to a claim specialist explaining what my issues were. I was submitted same day. I better response that somebody will take care of the problem. Service state was scheduled. Technician showed up as scheduled exactly what the problem was took care of promptly knew exactly when you’re doing how then 40 minute time very happy with your response and the service.

Overall, average service, but much, much, much better than American Home Shield (a truly dishonest company). At first, the process was quick and professional, and in the end, we received a credit voucher for our washing machine when it couldn't be repaired. However, once the voucher was offered, they didn't provide the electronic credit for around four weeks. I almost rated them 3 stars since I think withholding the payment for that long is egregious.

I appreciate that CHW schedules technicians on my behalf. My bigger concern is whether or not the technicians are vetted or not. My last two warranty requests were not fulfilled and were cancelled by the technician - either due to a no-show or a lackluster enthusiasm surrounding the work that needed to be performed. I provided feedback regarding both companies and suggest you removed them both from your bank of available companies going forward.

When I need a repair on anything in my home, it is comforting that I can call businesses who work with Choce Home Warranty to fix it at the set price arranged through Choice Home Warranty.I have used this service on many occasions. If it is fixable, they fix it, or if the appliance is too old they will tell me that it must be replaced.

We are having a terrible time getting our double wall ovens fixed. These KitchenAid ovens are practically new. We have been doing without our ovens for about one month, and this time of year we should be baking cookies! We had an appointment scheduled, but then it was cancelled—no call or email or text. Everything seems to be going out at the same time. Our built in microwave also went out. We were offered $180 for it. It will cost $1800 to replace it. Our built in refrigerator apparently could not be repaired also. Again we were offered a minimal amount to replace the refrigerator. I had to pay over $8000 to get a new refrigerator. This whole experience has been devastating. I am considering not renewing my plan. There needs to be an option to replace an appliance with an appliance of at least equal value.
