I have paid for this home warranty for over 2 years, now. I have rarely put in a claim. I just recently did put in a claim for my Stove Top (built in the island). The technician said he would be back as soon as the part arrived. Then I get notification that it is not covered. I have 4 burners, one is just fine, one I have to start with a lighter, one I have have to turn to "ignite" then down to low and back to ignite and then it works. The fourth one doesn't work at all. The gas line has pulled away and gas does not reach that burner. This just happened and was nothing that we did to it. I still had to pay for this visit (copay) even though you didn't allow the technician to complete. Also, when I FIRST signed up, the sales guy said that Choice Home Warranty offers a visit for heat ducts, electrical and plumbing inspection to make sure all is working properly. No one ever showed up to do this and when I asked again, they said you do not offer this benefit. To say the least, we are very disappointed and my husband wants me to call American Shield because several friends use them with no problems.

I was not asdigned a tech for 3 days. He then did not cone to the appointment. I had to negotiate the AI system online, which is not user-friendly, and ended up managing to get a real person. My case was then reassigned. 24 hours later I received an email suggesting I find my own repair person and I would be reimbursed. This is not great customer service

When we originally signed up with you we thought it was a good idea as we had some appliances theat were starting to age. Whenour ice maker quit working we had great service. Then our dish washer was having issues and we were told it could not be fixed due to its age and you sent us a check for 400.00 to purchase a new one. Then our washer started having issues and we were told it could not be fixed because of age and thats when we started having problems with you. First you said we would get a gifty card from Lowes and that never happened, then you said you would send us a check and that has not happened so now we are thinking of going else where. Please respond!!

Had to wait over 2 months in the dead of winter with no heat in sub freezing weather to wait for them to send several different service people who couldn’t fix my tankless hot water heating unit. I found my own plumber to work on it and after 3 weeks of trying to get my plumber to deal with Choice to help them with upload there photos and diagnosis, choice declined to pay claiming it wasn’t regular wear and tear of the system. Practically 3 months without heat only to be declined the claim while we sat in one room with a space heater and still and to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. (Which could have been done the week it broke!)

Loved my technician but once again Choice didn't approve the work. Choice weaseled its way out of paying just like they did when it came to needing a new air conditioner. I am seriously considering canceling my policy.

I am NOT happy. My dishwasher is still not fixed! I called and asked Gary with Volt Repairs to please get it done before Mother’s Day. He said he would try and I haven’t heard a word from him since. His original visit was over a month ago and he said the part was in now.

I’m still waiting for them to come back to finish the job. Someone there needs to stay on top with Itz a breeze company to get them to finish the job. I feel like I’m getting a run around. I had that same fan fixed years ago and it took them 24 hrs to fix it.

Choice Home Warranty (CHW) asked me for a review. So, here it is. In my opinion, CHW has denied covering a claim too many times. It doesn’t make sense to me to pay hundreds of dollars for the warranty per year, pay the $75 service appointment fee, then have to pay hundreds of dollars for the repair because CHW would not cover it. They use erroneous reasons not to cover claims. One recent example is, “It’s not due to normal wear and tear”. I don’t know how else a drain pipe under my 40+ year old house would get a crack in it. I certainly (as a disabled senior) did not crawl under my house and break it. So, I had to pay the $75 service fee for them to tell me I had to pay the plumber myself. Another example is an appliance was too expensive to repair (apparently) and CHW said it needed to be replaced instead. However, they did not replace it. They gave me “cash in lieu” and told me I had to replace it myself. However, the cash in lieu was about 1/4 of the actual cost of replacing the appliance. Again, why am I paying for a warranty when I can take that money, plus the $75 service fee, and put it towards replacing the appliance and save money in the process. When my warranty with CHW expires, I will not be renewing it and will just set that money aside to pay for the repairs/replacements myself. And save $75 (and a lot of headaches) in the process.

I’m NOT satisfied with this warranty. I have a refrigerator ice maker that has an air leak that constantly melts my ice and then freezes up my ice maker. Drives everyone crazy! This has been going on for a good while now and Choice Warranty will NOT fix the problem!! Do you people forget that your best advertising are your customers? I’m going to cancel this policy because of this issue! I am upset because I need a refrigerator that works properly! I do not recommend Choice Warranty!

The people came out to do repairs on my garage door opener and door and said I need work on my springs and other stuff but said I wasn’t covered by my coverage does cover these repairs. Also a sears technician came out to work on my mini split in the garage and said he doesn’t work on those and then charged me $75 to tell me I needed to replace my filter on n my HVAC system.

I am a little disappointed that I paid $75 for a technician to come out and fix our air conditioner only to find out that the warranty doesn’t cover anything. As a new homeowner and client of choice home warranty, I expected at the very least coverage on the maintenance that keeps appliances running properly. I ended up paying out of pocket to have the unit fixed. I do like that It is easy to make a claim on the website but that hardly makes up for what we had to pay already and it does not seem to be worth the money.

The policy worked well for us, and the technicians were assigned in a timely manner during the first year of our policy, which was included with the purchase of our home five years ago. After that first year, we decided to continue the coverage and get a longer service contract. The quality of service has declined since then and the wait time for technicians to be assigned has increased. I am currently almost 2 weeks waiting for someone to fix or diagnose the problem with my water heater.

If the repair is a simple appliance like washer, dryer or dishwasher, I haven’t had too many issues. I have had issues getting a tech for my AC and garage door opener. Many techs won’t work with a warranty company or don’t want to just do the quick fix. I have had to wait a long time while they try to find a part before replacing the device.

The first scheduled tech never arrived. Had to message Choice a few times to get a replacement company. The new tech diagnosed the issue quickly; washing machine unit needed replacing. Choice would send eLowes card for replacement amount. Took a month before funds were disburse. If I was banking on those funds to purchase replacement, I would have been without for a full month or longer.

It's our Warranty company. Ark Plumbing was referred to us by Choice. Our problem is shower head heavy leaking /dripping, since 3/1/26. It took almost (2) wks today for a plumber to try to fix the leak after assessment and authorization of part from Choice. This whole time my bill is running high due to the leak. We paid $225 plus $75 service fee to Ark, but the leak is still there, I'm very disappointed. I contacted Ark Plumbing about it after (7) hrs, but still no response. I really need this problem to be solved asap. Your prompt attention to this matter is much appreciated. Thank you

I bought a one year contract with Choice Home Warranty and only had to use them one time. When I called for service on the one item, they told me to find my own repair company and then go through a bunch of folderal of me paying the bill and then getting reimbursed and this that and the other. So I just called my own repair company and got the work done quickly and reasonably instead of using Choice Home Warranty which I found to be somewhere between useless and a waste of time. Due to my experience I probably won't be renewing with them again as they apparently didn't care about me in the slightest.

We thought this company would be helpful. The most recent plumber sent to fix our toilet was great. However in the past we have been sent service people who were lazy and didn’t really solve the problem. Our biggest issue is our sprinklers. We put in a request to have them fixed. We were sent a gardener who said the issue was beyond his expertise and we needed a SPRINKLER TECHNICIAN. We asked for one and were sent a plumber who said the issue was beyond his expertise and we needed a SPRINKLER TECHNICIAN. I think we were sent another plumber. We put the issue aside because it was winter and we weren’t using the sprinklers, but we still need a SPRINKLER TECHNICIAN

I originally had a failing refrigerator. I was going out of town for the holidays. I was proactive and filed a claim with. A serviceman came out December 10 and said it was a fan and he would order the part. December 11 another company came out and said it was low on coolant and added that. December 22, 2025 my neighbor called and said it wasn't cooling. As a result I lost all my food. Had the 2nd service call advised me to move food to another refrigerator that could have been avoided. As I was gone till the new year the second service tech came back January 2nd,2026. He applied a leak fix that did not work. All this time and they said they would replace it. At $818 that was a small price for all my time and food loss then they said it would be another 30 days for the check to arrive. I still have not got the check.

Because your scheduling is pathetic. I was not able to speak with anyone and your system gave me a day that did not work for me. I called back and then was able to speak with someone who supposedly changed the appointment to the following day. Well, they didn’t do their job correctly and the technician calls me while I’m at a doctor’s appointment and tells me that he is 10 minutes away from my house. Not on the new appointment date, but the original appointment date that I had changed with Choice. Simply pathetic. I will give a shout out to the technician who came and did the repair, he was great. But as far as Choice is concerned, I’m really disappointed in your system of appointment scheduling. Now want me to renew for over $2000? I’ve had Choice for 5 1/2 years and only two service calls have been made by me. You guys have certainly gotten your money’s worth from me and then some. Sincerely, Harold L.

Lack of communication, poor business operation. Negative attitude of Choice employees. This carries over to the lack of service companies willing to work with you. Your real problem is your very negative relation with service companies. "Who wants to work with Choice?". No one.

We have had three requests for service in our time with Choice. In each instance, we have had to pay more out of pocket for services over and above the normal fee. In the latest service call our request was completely denied. At this point we are not receiving a positive return on our contract. In fact, we have made the decision to request that our contract be cancelled and any unused fees be returned to us.

I’ve had two claims. Both were late. First on did a company change because they couldn’t come out after confirming. Waiting since 7 this morning and repair person is verifying with you after I had already confirmed with him. When the first tech came he fixed the problem but it was 6:30 pm when he got her. But really polite and helpful. Still waiting for second tech to get here.

We thought the service man was very good. He identified the problem and we were back up and running I a very short time. The only problem came from the wait for the appt. We had 4 days without AC which required us to have to buy a window unit. Sine we care for our 93 ye old know who’s is very ill going without AC wasn’t an option. This should have not been needed and we wasted $219. Please do a better job for your clients.

I've had Choice Home Warranty for a couple of years and used it a couple times. The first time took exorbitantly long for a technician to be assigned to a simple plumbing job (leaky faucet). Unfortunately, the technician also broke it worse. Regardless, after a bit of waiting for new parts, it was installed and works well. The second time was just over a month ago. I called about my stove not working properly. One burner was overheating and would not hold temp. A technician was assigned extremely quickly and came to look at the stove within a couple days. He diagnosed a faulty burner element and an infinite switch. Since the cost was going to be $500, Choice said they would replace the stove. However, this is where I feel I received better value at my prior warranty company. Choice offered me just under $400 to replace my electric stove, which would be in the form of a e-gift card from Lowe's. They stated they were offering me the fair replacement "wholesale price" value. However, they didn't take into consideration the type of stove I had, as well as the features such as oven cleaning and convection settings. The absolute cheapest electric stove at Lowe's was about $520...which was the old-style coil burner elements. I talked with a representative, who was extremely pleasant, and she was able to increase my gift card to $485. Still not great since a comparable stove to the one I owned was around $750-$800, but I said fine, that will work. Again, here is the main issue I have with their service. The final claim happened on Dec 5th...it took them 19 more days to send me an electronic gift card. As this was right before Christmas and I had company coming over for the holidays, I needed a working stove. So essentially, I had to purchase a stove to ensure I would get a pre-Christmas delivery, and now I have gift card (received on Dec 24th) to Lowe's I need to utilize. It really just doesn't make a ton of sense. The technician they hired was great, the customer service rep was nice enough, but taking almost 20 days to send me an email gift card is ridiculous, not even counting I can't buy a stove for wholesale prices. I'm not saying their a bad company, but my last home warranty company was much better.

Because it seemed to be well recommended. But we had an oven motherboard go bad, which meant they couldn’t repair it. We received a Lowe’s gift card for ~$900, but the replacement (same brand, size 27”, similar features) costs ~$3,200 at Lowe’s. So the replacement costs us ~$2,300! Or we get the much cheaper replacement, with few available alternatives to select from, instead. Neither solution is desirable and certainly wasn’t understood when we signed up. We even had a local appliance repair look at our ovens for maintenance and diagnostics before we signed up. So this really was an unexpected surprise. Sears Home Services would’ve fully replaced, based on our experience about 12 years ago (refrigerator). Choice offered absolutely no other options for us, not even a cash card that we could use at another retailer.

Company is good but not keeping promises. When they sell warranty they will present as they will cover everything etc. Issue - they don't schedule tech for more then week or so. Once tech goes on site he writes report and then go back to company, you will not hear for few weeks for the resolutions. Most of the time they will deny the claim with really none justifiable cause . I have tenant moved in the home and issue started. I had open three claim for three issues. They did not cover any of them. Still, I was liable for vendor trip cost . So this warranty are not good. I am ready to cancel warranties with my all properties and handle my self with handy man when issue comes up This is cheaper and faster then paying Yearly subscription and still you end up paying charges

Choice Home Warrantee has no apparent control over their contractors. They sent me a Plumber to replace my Water Heater and he disconnected the Humidifier and failed to reconnect it to the New Water Heater. I had to wait for Four Seasons to tell me that my Humidifier was not connected. Who does that ?? Is this plumber so incompetent that he forgot to re attach my Humidifier. And now I can get him to come back and finish the job that he was paid for. Good Services Plumbing and Excavation ought to change their name. And Choice Home Warrantee ought to see to it that their contractors finish the job. 9 times he's promised to return and complete the job and he hasn't made it here yet. And maybe the worst part is that Choice Home Warrantee is after me to renew my contract saying we'll give you 2 months free. How about just getting your contractor to finish this simple job ??

I like the idea of having a home warranty, and Choice Home Warranty is outstanding at taking my money every month, but a claim takes forever. I went a literal month without hot water and then decided to fix it myself. Submitted a claim for a dishwasher and still has not been fixed. The technicians for both claims make an appointment, then cancel, then set another one, and cancel. I realize that it is the companies that Choice Home Warranty chooses and not the actual warranty company, but they are the ones overall in charge. I pay monthly, and if I would have been in a year contract, I could not have dropped them and been stuck. I am waiting to get my dishwasher repaired, then see if I continue with Choice Home Warranty or not. Paying monthly, I have that choice.

We paid extra for our salt water pool system to be covered, our heater has always been well maintained but is over 20 years old - a plastic cap, which was old and now brittle, came off and they claimed they would not cover this as they said it was not normal wear and tear. It was absolutely wear and tear, and I had two pool technicians say so, including their own technician they sent over ! They said they didn't care how many technicians said that, they would not cover this. Then I said I paid over $3500 for this home warrantee plan and she snapped back you'd had more claims then that! NOT MY FAULT, and is that the reason they don't want to cover this claim, it certainly looks that way - we are taking this to arbitration. They are not covering the heater which is absolutely covered in our contract

They were pretty good on some repairs and a huge nightmare on others. I do NOT care to use them again as they put me through at least 4 horrible experiences including my last teair. They scheduled me 2 weeks out and then did not show. Then the company had no ticket gor the tepair and Choice put me into forever review until they reported the repair as completed when no one ever showed up to do the repair while Im out of the country. I e had to pay a lot of money for a maid service to take my Airbnb laundry to a laundromat because my dryer was never repaired!!!! Who needs this kind of hassle. The year of hell they put me through for my shower controller lost me a months rent $3000 and a lost tenant and a yeat if hell while I was traveling the world. They never fixed it and I had to hire my own olumber to finally replace the faucet that one of their 7 plumbers they sent over 1+ year broke!!!! Who wants this in their life???? Not me!!!!

It was cheaper than the warranty I had before. But cheaper is not always better. Also the age of the appliance or whatever you want to fix has to be a certain age or y'all don't pay for it. Then you prorated and then charge $50 to cancel. Wow!

I give choice 2 stars I have been happy with choice for about 5 plus years. I would have given them 5 star but this last service call changed my score for choice. My AC was not working so I made a warrant call for my AC I paid the service fee. The service company came out to checkout my AC they said that it wasn't the AC that I had no electricity in my attic and so it needed a electrician. I put in a service call for the electrical. The electrician came and checked the electrical panel, the attic, the AC exchangers inside and outside they all had power he also checked the thermostat and it didn't work I asked if he was going to replace it. He stated that it was a heating and cooling problem. I would have to have them come back out. I called choice back because the service company that came out for the AC was not truthful about what they found and didn't check the thermostat to see if that was the problem so I had to call out another company (electrical). That cost me another service fee when I asked if they would refund my service fee because the AC company wasn't truthful when they came out. So I feel like I should not have to pay a service fee for the electrician if the AC company wasn't truthful. I have a video of the electrician in the attic checking for electricity and it had electricity in the attic. I was a loyal customer of choice and I feel choice lost stars for that. Choice needs to make it right if a company that they use is not truthful with there customers and your customer has to come out with another service fee because they were not truthful choice should refund the fee for the unreliable company.

Many promises were made when I joined the Choice Home Warranty. They made me feel as though I would be treated fairly when in actuality they just wanted my money. I was convinced to join their company and it cost me $5,000+ which is suppose to cover me until 2027. I am sorry I extended myself for so long because the very first attempt I made to use them; I was denied. After that, everytime I use them, it cost me $85 and that's before any services were performed. It cost me over $200 for refrigerator repair and finally they sent me a voucher that wasn't even enough to cover the cost.

The price you are offering for our Microwave is way too low. Trouble with my garage door you didn’t find anybody to send out. I had to find somebody on my own. When they came out, I called and needed to talk to somebody. Nobody was available to talk. I left a message to have somebody call me back nobody called me back not too happy right now and we need to talk some more. Have somebody call me

The company lulls you into a false sense of security. I’ve been with them for 5 years and recently had my furnace breakdown. The repair company that was sent in informed Choice Home Warranty that the entire furnace needed to be replaced. I was informed there would be a$2000.00 out of pocket expense for uncovered services. So much for peace of mind knowing you’re covered if something in your house breaks down. What a bunch of BS!! I don not recommend this company. You can get the same coverage with other home warranty companies and not be blind sided when you file a claim. Good riddance!!

Most of the time, it has taken a while for Choice to find/assign a contractor (more than 24 hours). A few times, I have received an email from Choice with an appointment set, only to find out the named contractor was unaware of the appointment and either no-showed, or had a much later date set. If there is something pressing, there doesn’t seem to be a sense of urgency.

When I originally signed up with Choice, I paid $1500 with the understanding that everything was covered once the coverage became im force Well that was not the case. I ended up having to pay several hundred dollars for maintenance on my a/c / heater they covered a minimal amount. There were other issues that cropped up thar, again I had to pay more than I was given to expect when the warranty was sold. This last issue was handled correctly, and with minimal effort on my part. I still have very little confidence in Choice.
