Choice was fine in dealing with them, however the plumber they referred us to could not get appointments in a timely manner, and they didn't fix issue on first visit. They had to return and then installed a damaged faucet. The tech shut our water off at the street which wasn't necessary. They had to return a 3rd time to replace damaged part on faucet. They didn't turn our water back on all the way so we had no pressure. I had to have a person come out, at my expense to discover and fix water pressure. They wouldn't replace same faucet and offered a cheap fix. I had to pay them 100.00 to use same faucet we had. Not really a good experience.

Up to May this year I was with one of home choices competitors. In July, I actually had to call in my AC was inop and they had a technician out in 24 hours and they diagnosed the issue order parts and had it up and running in a week. Granted it was a long hot week waiting on parts, but simplistic in getti g everything competed.

We had a problem with our circuit breakers. We aid to have someone come out (Baltimore Wiring.). Within a week we were still having issues with the breaker tripping. I called Baltimore Wiring several times to let them know it wasn’t working. They would not answer or reply back to me. I called CHW several times to ask for assistance with our electrical system. I was told they would contact Baltimore Wiring. To this date I have not heard from either company. The least they could have done was reimburse us for the $85.0 0 since the work was never done completely resolved. We had to pay out of pocket because we didn’t have lights in our bedroom.

After being informed my DW would be replaced, I was informed it would be up to 30 days to get the electronic gift card to use towards a new dishwasher. This is resulting in roughly two months w/o a dishwasher. The amount provided covers less than half the cost of a comparable model and does not include installation costs or removal costs of the broken dishwasher. I'm unhappy with the time this takes, and the method used to determine replacement value. Same thing happened a few years ago when my washing machine failed. I ended up paying over $400 out of pocket to get a "comparable model". I expected more when I paid for a six year "Ultimate Choice" package for coverage.

I made two claims to repair a very old bathroom light/fan/heater combo. The fan and heater elements have not worked well since the repairs. I had an appliance professional look at the light combo, and he said that the entire light combo needs to be replaced with a new fixture. But CHW sent the same company to fix the same problem. If I make another claim to repair the light combo, will CHW send the same company again to make a temporary fix on a 66 year-old fixture? I have also made a claim on a step-in bathtub shower wand. However, the company said that they could not repair the wand. No resolution was made. So I had to pay the $75 copay and the shower wand was not repaired. In this case, I believe that a qualified plumbing company should have been dispatched or I should have received a refund for the copay that I paid the plumbing company.

Regular service calls for minor repairs are handled timely and efficiently. Bigger issues like an aged AC unit (more than 15 years old) which needs to be replaced due to necessary parts that are no longer available takes way too long for a decision to be made (felt like too many obstacles were purposely but in motion) and then you still have to pay a chunk of money due to the upgraded system. It's getting replaced (has been authorized anyway) but we are now 7 weeks without AC in a never-ending heat wave in Tennessee and still have to wait another two weeks for the service tech schedule. Knowing this up front will reduce your frustration and expectations.

Okay this is my second time to reply to this questionnaire. The ac tech a several days to get compressor. The first one he got from the supplier he said that it didn’t look good. So he said that they were going to order one. At that point I think he should have tried to get one from another supplier. Once he got here with the new one, he installed it in no time at all. Three or four days ago it froze up. Got it to work. But he never called back or offered to come back and check it out. Which I think is poor customer service. I would still recommend him but with caution.

The overall experience has been somewhat of a challenge scheduling appointments then after the vendors don’t show up getting with someone to help you is the challenge it took me three tries is speaking with five managers to get the proper help but other than that, I did finally get the help that I need my refrigerator repaired. I would say choice Home Warranty need to check their vendors before they appoint them.

My main complaint is - took 2mths to determine issues and determine the refrigerator would not be fixed and another month to receive an lowes E-Card. Because of the time involved we had purchased a refrigerator prior to Choices decision not to fix the appliance. To our dismay we brought the refrigerator at Home Depot not lowes. Had we know Choice only issued e-cards for lowes we would have gone there. I requested a home depot card but was denied. So, yes we got a partial reimbursement for the broken refrigerator but took 3mths to finalize everything. Most families can't go three mths without a refrigerator! If we have an issue in the future and are unable for Choice to determine a solution, we will shop lowes and wait for the outcome. Another complaint - I attempted to call Choice numerous time attempting to find out our status. Left our phone number as required but no call back for approx 2wks!

Once you get a Technician at your home, they do an excellent Job. The problem is with getting a response that doesn’t take 2-3 weeks to get you help. Also I had an appointment canceled and rescheduled the day they were supposed to come out after waiting 2 weeks. You need a website dedicated to customer complaints and you might learn something. I had this a few years ago and I liked it a lot, you could pick your own Tech. , the tech. Would call in and CHW would approve the bill, simple. When you call to report a problem, it sounds like a crowded room of immigrants who can’t understand anything. That’s the main problem, communication.

choice home warranty is real quick to take the money out of my bank account and on time every month had a warranty problem with dryer they oked paying for the dryer but said it would take 30 days to get a voucher from them so we could purchase a new dryer why not just cut the customer a check and be done with it plus we could have just purchased the new dryer now we have to wait 30 days for them to email a voucher and we take it to lowes and still have to put money with it to get the new dryer after a months wait. There is no reason for them to take that long.

Choice Home Warranty hs treated us very well this year in that they have helped us replace a roof mounted AC/Heating unit, a kitchen faucet and a refrigerator. In some cases it has taken quite some time for the process to be completed. While I understand the reasons for some of the delays, I am still a bit disappointed I how much time it does take. However, ido highly recommend CHW to anyone in the market for a home warranty policy.

Had a plumbing problem and put in a request for service. I got an email from choice saying that a plumber was coming That day and it was 1 PM when I got it! I never received a phone call from the company or a follow up from choice. Very frustrating. I ended up putting three bottles of liquid plumber down the drain to limp it along. When I signed up also for the five-year plan, they promised me to extra services. When I called and tried to use one of the services a year and a half into the five years, they said that I didn’t have that service available to me unbelievably frustrating to pay that much in advance and not have the service.

While the heating issue was resolved efficiently with great communication, the dishwasher repair was frustrating due to a lack of follow-up and a missing part. I've used the warranty service 3 times, the first I thought was very bad as I had a micro wave quit and Choice would not repair or install a new unit instead they gave a cash settlement for the cheapest SS model available leaving me to install the micro wave. The second and third times I used Choice were for AC problems and both times the service was superior, but due to the micro wave problem I couldn't give a five star rating, although the two AC repairs were both 5 stars.

I've had a warranty in place for 2-1/2 years. This is the first time I've used it. The old Kenmore washer that came with the house was making a huge racket and shaking hard on the spin cycle. The repairman adjusted the rear legs, which reduced the noise and shaking but hasn't eliminated it. I guess it will have to break down completely before I can get a replacement. It also appears that Sears (whose repairman was sent) is overbooking their people; the repairman was 2-1/2 hours late for my afternoon appointment.

Customer service is atrocious. The sales people lie to you about what they're going to cover, even after you tell them you need a specific coverage. Only to find out when filing a claim that the claim is denied for not being covered and say you can add at next renewal but now they know there is an issue so future claims are automatically denied on that item.

I do not like that I have to wait up to 30 days to receive my buy out money so I can replace my washing machine. I'm disabled and on a tight budget and with 4th of July sales I would be paying less out of pocket if I had my promised money. It's been 2 weeks and still no 343.00 Lowes e card. Very disappointed with all this! As for sending technician out was great.
