I’ve been a customer with Choice Home Warranty for about 7 - 8 yrs. I have coverage on three properties. One being a rental property. The cost of the plan is what initially enticed me. My dislike is when it comes to larger cost items they are quick to deny a claim and then if you appeal they give you a fraction of the cost of the repair in “pity money” things that should be deemed normal wear and tear are met a denial. They do not offer accurate replacement value when appliances need to be repaired. Good technicians are a needle in a hay stack. I’ve also been with worst companies so in comparison they’re just ok. It sometimes feels like you’re penalized for filing a claim but that’s why we pay for coverage to use it when needed. I only file when absolutely necessary.

Great job! Our tech showed up on time and was very courteous! Found the problem with our dishwasher pretty quickly. I was very happy that he ran through a complete wash cycle to make sure the issue was resolved and if there was anything else not working correctly. 5 stars for sure!!

Best service I have received, just wish I could Get a Visa Debit card instead of a Lowe's Card. It's difficult to wait a month for a washing machine so I had to go out and buy it already than that. The company has gotten much better since I started service with them.

I’m in the process of having my refrigerator replaced. I had to buy on 12/23 because mine was leaking. I called and requested to get a check instead of a gift card to Lowe’s in the amount of $494.00. I was pleased by the prompt response. I called on Saturday night and by Monday morning the technician was at my home. I did have to wait for an approval for a replacement part but this took less than 24 hours. The technician returned the following day with the part and repaired the water feeder within minutes. Very satisfied with the results.

I have only had one encounter. I was extremely disappointed that my refrigerator was dismissed as having a prior problem. I hadn't had a problem with it before I reported it to you. My microwave was fixed without incident during same house call. The repairman expressed his dislike of having to travel so far. I hope in the event of an appliance failure in the future, it will be faster to get a repairman to my house. I don't have the money to pay upfront. The repairman himself was awesome. He was very professional, courteous, and explained his findings accurately. I referred my sister in law to choice and I was suppose to get a reward of some kind. I have not received anything.

They have always taken good care of me. They never give me the runaround and always send someone out quickly! I’ve recently sold my house but made sure to keep choice warranty for my new home. I’ve recently had to have my oven and air conditioner repaired and they took care of that, all I had to pay was a $100 service fee.

I have Chose home for me and my Mom. She had someone to come check for why the broiler wasn’t working. He turn it on. And said it’s hot. So my mom ask what he did. She turn the broiler on but not the temperature. So it was a 5 minute fix

On the positive and every employee that I dealt with has been great. On the negative side it’s a warranty that is designed to cover some, but not all of the repair. Example your air-conditioning system goes out. They have to replace the outdoor unit because if its age, the indoor unit needs to be replaced as well, but they won’t pay for that Because they say it’s not broken. Well they can’t replace the outside unit without doing the indoor unit so it seems like a package to me accommodation so instead we had to pay about $3000 out-of-pocket. I’ve dealt with other home warranty companies over the years. An example would be First American And never had to have that experience. I always buy the premium plan and I guess I assumed, my mistake that the premium plan covers stuff like that. Also had a hot water heater that went bad again out of pocket we had to pay 300+ dollars 125 of which was to dispose of it and the other was because they have to replumb it to make it work. Would make sense to me that anytime you replace a hot water heater. You have to replumb it. With First American we had a similar repair and we did not encounter any of those extra cost. So my advice is read the fine print.

I pay for a service every month that I might not use for years and when it’s something major they don’t want to pay for it to be fixed so the customer is paying out more money. For example my microwave went out and all they gave me was 249.00 on a 500.00 dollar microwave and I had to pay for the installer to replace. It ended up costing me out of pocket 600.00. Same with the hot water heater it cost me 700.00 out of my pocket. They lie and said it was for inspection but no one came and inspect. So where did my 700.00 dollars go if that was the case it was cheaper for me just to go to Lowe’s and buy one

This last interaction was a 5 star , the technician came out quickly and completed the oven repair. The last interaction was not so good as the refridgerator was leaking and they could not locate a repair person. I had to disassemble and get the unit out of the house as it was damaging the hardwood floors. Since it was no longer serviceable they only would pay $150 of the replacement. I had no choice but to except it however it was not my fault they could not locate a repair person. They felt offering for me to find one was acceptable and then they would consider reimbursment all while leaking on my floor. So one good experience that was a 5 and one that was a 1 so I felt 3 is fair.

Choice has been amazing. In a 2 week span I had my oven and garbage disposal fixed. Both claims were taken care of within a day of my request. Then I had a plumbing leak. Choice sent out a great plumber who diagnosed the issue and solved my problem. As a first time home owner in a new state, choice has been nothing but amazing.

The guy who came out to fix my stove was very nice and knowledgeable. Choice warranty chose to give me money instead of fixing it. I don’t think having to wait up to 30 days for the money especially when u don’t have an appliance is unacceptable. That’s the only complaint I have about my issue so far.

I have been a Choice customer for about 3 months now. My first experience was a dishwasher issue (would not drain). Their apps and scheduling are excellent, but the service not as much. The tech was courteous and prompt, but ultimately did not address my problem and his advice resulted in me wasting time and money on parts and frustration for no reason. Long story short, the tech identified that the dishwasher had been misused but failed to consider the extent. He advised me to replace a few minor parts that added up to about $100 and then to run some cleaning cycles on the unit. He also promised to deliver a new housing. The housing never arrived, I never heard from the tech again, and the recommended parts and actions made no difference. Ultimately, the water pump in the unit was damaged beyond repair, and the cost to replace was not worth investing in a 10 year old unit. This was literally the fist thing the Frigidaire tech tested once I gave them the background. In the end, I wasted $200 and a month of my time messing with parts and service calls that did not address the issue.

If I had to list a dislike it's that there isn't a list of reputable companies they can use to ensure that an appointment is scheduled as soon as possible. They get the right servicemen in to do the job, but sometimes the schedule for them to arrive is longer than I want or need. And sometimes, after waiting hours for them to arrive, they don't show up, and don't give me much advanced notice. Then I have to wait to be rescheduled, sometimes days later.

I own a couple of rental properties, and most have this "Choice Home Warranty." It's peace of mind. I have never had a problem with the CHW. They are always on time and do the work well. I have no complaints, and I recommend the service. If you own a house, you better consider having some warranty.

Response was prompt and repair man worked very hard to try to fix my washing machine. I was disappointed, however, that you offered a credit to Lowes that would take 30 days to get. Credit was smaller than expected; however, my washing machine was about 10 years old, so I understand that. I love Lowes, but I found a washing machine for less at a different store. I had to spend $1000 and will have to wait to receive the credit for Lowe’s and then spend it on something else when I could’ve used the help to purchase the washing machine. Thanks for asking.

The service providers were good, the issue I had was with the Sales Team. They consistently told me that monthly billing was not possible, I could only pay the total in one payment or it could be broken into 3 consecutive payments, and both options were a struggle for me for the 3 years I was with them. But! This year when I told them I would not renew, monthly billing was suddenly possible! Also, I was bombarded by phone calls, emails and texts, daily, for the last 2 months of service, in their attempt to keep me as a customer. To top everything off, I was finally sent an email stating that my account would go into an automatic month-to-month payment system! What nerve! The Customer Service Team was pretty good, overall, the Sales Team was very abrupt, bordering on rude.

...had a problem with leaking toilet; they sent a guy from Fiore Plumbing...showed up way late....he did not have proper part and told me what he did should work. Well, toilet leaking again, I called plumber back and sent him photos as he requested...he said he would call back in 15 minutes...never heard from him again...now I have to spend another deductible to get it fixed properly...I do not blame Choice, since the plumber screwed up...now I must get a different plumber.

I didn't like the fact that when I have a claim, it takes up to 72 hrs to get assigned to a technician. Also, these technicians are only approved to do the work if it is less than a dollar amount. If it is over that amount, they have to call in seeking approval. My first claim was for an appliance and it was deemed that the part was too expensive and that they would just give me a gift certificate for a certain value to apply to the replacement instead of covering the replacement 100% which is what I was led to believe that a home warranty was to cover. This is not the case. There is also a "service" fee that you pay each time which basically equates to the technician fee you would normally pay for a technician to come out to your home. So with this, I am not seeing the value in a home warranty unless it is for minor issues.
