Simple Process

Americor offers a simple path to becoming debt-free. You can contact the company by phone or online via their website to receive a free consultation. You only need to answer a few simple questions about your debts, and if you qualify, you can get started immediately.

Americor provides you with a 100% personalized debt relief plan. And for those who wish to get started with Americor’s debt resolution program, it typically takes between 24-48 months for clients to complete the program and to be debt-free of all their debts they enrolled into their program.

After clients complete their program, they receive a certificate of completion and all of their enrolled creditors are fully paid off, and the client is debt-free.

No Upfront Fees

Like many other reputable debt relief companies, Americor doesn’t charge clients for its services until after it has received settlement offers from clients’ creditors and the clients have approved of those settlement offers.

Will I owe taxes on the amount of debt that is forgiven through a successful negotiation?

Some creditors may issue a 1099c for the amount of debt forgiven over $600. If this occurs, you may be able to file for FInancial Hardship with IRS Form 982 with your income tax return to offset any tax liability. Will I be able to enroll all of my debts in Americor's program?

No. The program focuses on unsecured debt like credit cards, personal loans, medical debt, and personal student loans. Loans that are secured by collateral such as your home or an automobile do not qualify for Americor’s program.

Can I negotiate my own debts?

The short answer is yes. It is possible for you to contact your creditors directly and negotiate your own debts. However, Americor negotiators have years of experience and direct relationships with creditors and collection agencies. Unless you are a skilled negotiator and extremely knowledgeable about the credit and collection industry, you may not be able to negotiate agreements as favorable as the ones Americor negotiators may reach on your behalf.

Who is holding the funds I save each month?

By law, all debt resolution providers are required to use an independent third-party payment processor to hold consumer funds while the consumer is enrolled in a debt resolution program. After enrolling in Americor's debt resolution program, the company will assist you in setting up a FDIC-insured savings account that you control with a licensed, third-party payment processor who will hold your savings funds and distribute all negotiated payments to your creditors in a timely manner. You are the owner of this account and you control all of the funds deposited and debited from the account.

Does a debt resolution program help repair my credit once I have completed the program?

No. Americor is not a credit repair company, and it does not offer credit repair services. However, once a person progresses through their debt resolution program and settled accounts are paid off, they often see their credit score improve due to a lower debt to income ratio.

Does a debt resolution program affect my credit score?

If you do not make timely minimum payments each month, or if you allow your credit cards to go into a charge-off status after six months of no payment, your credit score can be negatively impacted. This is true whether you enroll in a debt resolution program or not. The sooner you are able to resolve your delinquent accounts or negotiate a repayment plan for less than you owe, the sooner negative items will begin to not be factored into your credit score and the sooner you will be able to begin to rebuild your credit.

How long does it take to complete a debt resolution program?

While each person’s situation is unique, and it is dependent on how much debt you enroll and how fast you can save, Americor clients are typically able to complete their program in 24 to 48 months.

How long does it take before I typically see results?

Americor clients typically get their first settlement offer within 3-6 months after enrolling in the program. However, some clients receive their first settlement offer within 30 days of making their first deposit into their dedicated FDIC-insured account.

Can Americor guarantee all of my debts will be successfully negotiated through its program?

Americor will not enroll a creditor that the company has not successfully negotiated with in the past. Part of the enrollment process is to determine which of your creditors Americor can and can not enroll. Americor has been successfully negotiating debts with most credit card companies since 2009 and has relationships with over 1,000 clients across the nation to assist their clients with their debts.

How are fees charged and paid in a debt resolution program?

Americor never charges a fee until it is able to successfully settle your accounts for less than what you owe. When Americor receives an offer from one of your creditors, it will submit a written agreement to you for your review and approval. Americor's fees are then paid on a prorated basis once the settlement payment is made.

I’ve been working with Americor for about a year as part of my effort to get out of debt. They explained their process for lowering interest rates and managing accounts, and I appreciated having guidance during a stressful time. While my main priority was my largest Wells Fargo account, the team initially focused on some of my smaller debts. This wasn’t the approach I expected, but it did help me make progress on a few accounts. Recently, I received a summons from Wells Fargo, which was overwhelming, and I learned I needed to add additional funds to my Americor account. Although this information didn’t come as early as I would have liked, customer service did explain the next steps and what was needed to move forward. I had a banking issue with a vendor taking a premature payment that would have caused my RAM payment to put my bank account in the negative and not only was Valerie sensitive to my situation but she was also able to successfully move my payment back three days which was enough to safely remedy the issue. Upon speaking with her she also was nice enough to explain specifics about the Advantage Law app and what state my account is in with my creditors. Ms. Baslee is DEFINITELY an asset to the Americor team and i hope she gets the due credit that she deserves in a business that can be trying with customers who are in financial hardship. So far so good, just have to get used to ignoring all the calls from the credit card companies. But Mr. Brandon S put my mind at ease by stating that I can just call them and tell them I’ve been working with a hardship program and that they will be reaching out to them, so it makes it much easier for my mental state. Thankful for the text messages the phone calls from the lawyers. Also direction and advice on how to handle phone calls and gave me rules of recieving calls from credit card callers they showed me and explained ways so im protected and shouldn't fear collector calls. Mostly gave me peace from worry about late fees and do and donts that this company will do or not so I know who is requesting payments. Best to just not answer and block the numbers is good advice, or tell them your working on getting them money through my lawyers and hang up. I am close to the end of my program and couldn’t be happier. This has taken a huge burden off my shoulders. No one likes being in debt, sometimes just happens and spirals out of control. To have companies like Americor available to help get you out of trouble is amazing. Recently I had questions on the way things were handled. A top level person David reached out to me. It made all the difference, to have a clearer picture of what really was happening. I’m so grateful for his call, he was so respectful of being in debt, no shame at all. They did a great job getting my accounts settled. They made sure that the payment plans were affordable for me based off the one monthly payment I made to the account I had for them. All the money stays in your name and control. At no point do you lose control of your money. They also have terrific customer service. Each time I called in, (which was usually for clarification purposes or something that wasn't their fault) I was always treated like a human being and not just another call. The only downside to their program is the fees they charge. Once you add those to paying the settlements, you're only saving about 25-35% from the total amount you enrolled. They also collect their fee before paying your creditors. That means it takes longer to get the creditors paid off, delaying your credit score going back up.

Yes you have to follow the process, yes your credit takes a big hit but they work hard hand and in hand with the creditors to get the best settlement they can for you!! Just you can’t get discouraged by your credit even if something big happens like having to buy a new car like I did and kept getting denied but I could a another way that I didn’t want to do but I had to just lucky I had that stash for hard times and I know not everyone has that!! From start to finish the experience with this company and staff was great and life changing, literally. Everything that was said and explained happened just as such. I am truly grateful that I crossed paths with this company. Totally painless. It was kind of a surprising thing to me. I did way more research than I had on any other financial decision I made. Which is shocking because this one is the one that worked vs jumping into loans to pay off credit cards that raise your limits and you're just getting bad situations. This one felt like help and was really awesome. Derek answered every question. Awesome guy, super friendly. I do feel like this was a very human centered, friendly process. Most financial interactions are super cold. He talked me through it, talked about my stuff that went on during the whole thing that merited this situation. It's nice to work with someone who's a person and treats you like you're a person.

I was reassured by the lady that I talked with that I was not alone in this process. She talked to me for a long time and walked me through the process of what I needed to do and what would happen next. I really have felt like they kind of held my hand through this and really took care of my needs. I didn't feel like I was being pushed to do something. I felt like it mattered to her that I was comfortable with what I was doing and that she was just really there to help me. I'm starting over after a divorce, my ex-husband destroyed my credit, and so this was this was pretty scary to have to start over again. And this company really took care of my emotional needs.

I didn't really know what to expect, but they explained everything very well. There was no surprises really. They answered my questions. I had never gotten anything to do with debt consolidation before, but the rumors I heard were not true, which is you have to give them access to your checking account and let them control your money, that's not true at all. And the portal that you're talking about makes it even easier. It's like seamless, not much contact has to happen and they explained that I'm supposed to send any correspondence from my creditors to them, that's easy. Everything about this has been easy.

My experience so far has been surprisingly very refreshing. Everybody that I've talked to is very knowledgeable, very polite, very professional. They really listen, they're very curteous, they do whatever is necessary for the clients to be happy. From the very first conversation I felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders, literally. With the interest rate I was paying before, individually on different bills, Americor came in and just blew that out the water and now I have one bill to pay when before I had all these separate little bills going on and it is very easy to miss paying one and that's something you don't want to do. It's been very positive, everybody's been very helpful and the program is working just exactly the way I expected it to. Definitely use Americor. They have an A plus rating with the better business bureau which is one thing I look for because I generally don't trust companies that I have found online, but when I saw that they had such a good rating and how informative and knowledgeable they are about the company itself and how it works I would definitely recommend Americor. My rep has explained everything from the beginning to end without leaving out any details and if there was something I wasn't sure about he answered those questions and told me that if I ever needed anything just to give him a call. He has been very helpful and very informative.

I am absolutely pleased with the guidance and the services. They're kind of teaching us how to handle creditors, it's been great. So far it has been absolutely easy to handle, if there was any kind of worry about the whole process they were able to provide me with an answer. I would definitely recommend Americor. Every time I called there was somebody to answer my questions. They thoroughly answered and the people very very pleasant. There are articles on their mobile app that I could educate myself with. Each account that you click you can observe the progress from the beginning and can see the end goal and where you were at so it was very reassuring, I appreciated that a lot. I monitored it very closely. You need to be patient because it is a process. They are easy to work with, they explain everything to you in the beginning. I mean, it's never easy realizing just how bad your financial situation has gotten. For me, after my husband lost his jobs going into Covid, I basically went into complete denial on how far we were sinking into debt. So when push came to shove and I finally crunched all the numbers, it was debt consolidation or bust. Americor made the process of debt consolidation accessible and straight forward. They handled all the communication with my prior financial institutions, and even took care of the relentless phone calls. They've always been incredibly professional, kind, and understanding. And much to their word, now that I'm over a year into the program, my credit score has gone up, I'm on the road to being completely debt free, and overall, things are just better :) 10/10 would use again. But ya know, I hope I never have to use them again lol

Extremely trustworthy, made me very comfortable. I trusted him, he was just like the average Joe talking to me, he didn't over talk me or make me confused with finance, so I trusted them a lot. I'm very happy right now because I was able to speed it up a little bit because all my payments were on time and I was able to pay for debt relief loan that they offered and we did all of that pretty quickly and I'm very happy how everything went. I've paid most of my debt all through Americor and it went pretty quick. It would have cost me twice as much if I had to try to do it on my own and they made me very, very comfortable. They answer every question that I had, they were always available and they kept alive the communications. I never felt like I didn't know what they're doing.

I have been dealing with some issues from the divorce. One of my credit cards was sueing me and the gentlement I worked with went ahead and did a refinance with my debt consolidation loan. He was able to work out that I didn't have to provide all the paperwork the credit card company wanted - because I went from a joint checking account to a singular checking account. So I thought that was fantastic. My claim was dropped as far as being sued by the bank. The only thing i was upset about was that they took care of the credit card with the lowest balance first instead of the highest (which is the one that was sueing me). And because we couldn't pay off the higher one, that's why I ended up being soon. So I wish they would have worked on the higher balance one first or all at once a little more patiently. Americor keeps me up to date where I stand as far as when they make the payment for each credit card, how many payments I have left, and they have one paid off before they move onto the next one. I would recommend them. I personally didn't want to go this route, but I had to do something and they are wonderful to work with.

I'm glad that I got the letter in the mail about Americor. I wasn't sure about the company before. I would definitely recommend anyone to call americor and just be as honest and upfront as possible with them about spending habits and what loans you have out there because regardless, if you do decide to go with them or not, they're going off to check your credit and that's going to help give you understanding of what's really coming out of your account of what you have to pay. So I would just say if you're really trying to get better financial ability for yourself in your household I would recommend americor. My agent's name is Derek and he was very knowledgeable and made it pretty simple. It was very helpful.

Even after the initial set up you expect excellent customer service members getting everything set up. Follow up care was exceptional. If I contacted them right now they would answer me promptly. The only issue we currently have a debt collector were the debt been settled but we're still getting calls and collection notices to we're trying to get that resolved right now but that's not through any fault of americor but the actual service itself. Americor got things taken care of it, it was exceptional what happened on the schedule. There were no hiccups. It's a pretty simple system, the portal was easy to maneuver. They have everything solid, I think it was a nice job. They were exceptional.

Taking that step to get help will relieve a lot of stress, but also knowing that others are in the same boat so there's nothing really be embarrassed about either. So far I've had a lot of good consistent communication, a lot of good tools and resources emailed to me frequently. I love that they have the app as well so I can go in and take a look at current standings and different resources available as well. I've worked with Sean and he was super diligent and thorough in looking through my actual credit report and then helping me to find the best plan of action to help decrease the overall debt.

Everything moved very swiftly according to their promise. I was able to get on a payment plan in a relatively short period of time. It is all paid off. I am glad I don’t have to worry. I would recommend Americor. Often times the cost of the service is the same amount as the debt you are trying to get rid of but in the case I didn’t have to shell out a large amount of money. I am completely satisfied. It is a great service. I feel very comfortable working with them. I didn’t see anything to make me think they were untrustworthy. They built on their promises. It is thoroughly better than bankruptcy.

I have no reason not to trust them. They need to give clearer answers when customers ask questions. A couple of times and I felt like I wasn't quite getting a clear answer but otherwise everything was great. Just do it sooner rather than later and follow the advice of not making any large purchases while you're doing that negotiation that helped me a lot with mine. They were always good about communicating with me with any changes that came along they would try to contact me in any way possible. To make sure that it was clear what they were doing and why, say yeah I was happy with that. Everybody was always really kind and friendly.
