Americor offers a debt settlement program in which clients submit their information, consult with the company, and apply for a program. Americor’s debt relief program helps with common creditors, banks, and delinquencies including, but not limited to, credit card debt, payday loans, medical debt, private student loans, lines of credit (LOCs), and personal business debts.

Simple Process

Americor offers a simple path to debt relief. You submit how much debt you have and the company provides you with available debt relief options.

Then, the company helps you apply for the right debt relief plan, and if accepted, you are enrolled and assigned a negotiator that will work to settle your debts with your creditors. Typically, negotiators are able to settle for 50–60 percent of the original balance.

Will I owe taxes on the amount of debt that is forgiven through a successful negotiation?

Some creditors may issue a 1099c for the amount of debt forgiven over $600. If this occurs, you may be able to file form 982 with your income tax return to offset any tax liability. Will I be able to enroll all of my debts in Americor's program?

No. The program focuses on unsecured debt like credit cards, medical bills, and personal loans. Loans that are secured by collateral such as your home or an automobile do not qualify for our program.

Can I negotiate my own debts?

The short answer is yes. It is possible for you to contact your creditors directly and negotiate your own debts. However, Americor negotiators have years of experience and direct relationships with creditors and collection agencies. Unless you are a skilled negotiator and extremely knowledgeable about the credit and collection industry, you may not be able to negotiate agreements as favorable as the ones Americor negotiators may reach on your behalf.

Who is holding the funds I save each month?


By law, all debt resolution providers are required to use an independent third-party payment processor to hold consumer funds while the consumer is enrolled in a debt resolution program. After enrolling in Americor's debt resolution program, the company will assist you in setting up a savings account with a licensed, third-party payment processor who will hold your savings funds and distribute all negotiated payments to your creditors in a timely manner. You are the owner of this account and you control all of the funds deposited and debited from the account.

Does a debt resolution program help repair my credit once I have completed the program?

No. Americor is not a credit repair company, and it does not offer credit repair services. However, negative items remain on your credit report for up to 84 months (7 years), so the sooner you are able to resolve your debts, the sooner you will be able to rebuild your credit with new credit accounts and timely payments.

Does a debt resolution program affect my credit score?

If you do not make timely minimum payments each month, or if you allow your credit cards to go into a charge-off status after six months of no payment, your credit score will be negatively impacted. This is true whether you enroll in a debt resolution program or not. The sooner you are able to resolve your delinquent accounts or negotiate a repayment plan for less than you owe, the sooner negative items will begin to not be factored into your credit score and the sooner you will be able to begin to rebuild your credit.

How long does it take to complete a debt resolution program?

While each person’s situation is unique, and it is dependent on how much debt you enroll and how fast you can save, Americor clients are typically able to complete a debt resolution program in 24 to 48 months.

How long does it take before I typically see results?

Clients typically see their first account resolved in four to seven months.

Can Americor guarantee all of my debts will be successfully negotiated through its program?

Americor will not enroll a creditor that the company has not successfully negotiated with. Part of the enrollment process is to determine which of your creditors Americor can and can not enroll. Americor has been successful negotiating debts by most all credit card companies since 2009.

How are fees charged and paid in a debt resolution program?

Americor never charges a fee until it is able to successfully resolve one of your accounts. When the company receives an offer from one of your creditors, it will submit a written agreement to you for your review and approval. Americor's fees are then paid on a prorated basis once the settlement payment is made.

A Debt Consultant reach out to me quickly when I showed interest. Which was a good sign for me. After the Debt Consultant explained the program to me. I immediately became a client. The consultant, showed great enthusiasm in helping achieve my goal in becoming debt free, at first. However, after the initial phone call. And made sure I was clear about what Americor was all about and how they could improve my financial situation. I did not feel rushed when speaking with Neyva. After a while I felt like I was talking to a friend. Before ending our call. I had a question that had come to mind. I had asked, “Does Americor have a budgeting tool that I could use?” She honestly did not know. Instead of ending our call with that. She immediately became determined in finding out the answer. I was a bit suspicious of debt reduction services, but the process is working. My credit has taken a bit of a hit as Americor arranges the settlements of my debts, but once they're paid off, my credit will rebound so I can build it correctly from scratch.

I am not happy with Americor I thought they were going to pay off my previous loan. And they didn’t I was making monthly payments to Americor For seven months and kept getting nasty notices from my previous lender with collection threats. my credit score went down from 800 to 600 they never paid a dime to my previous lender. They said they were still negotiating. I do not recommend them to anyone to get out of debt.

I like because they accepted me so quickly and that they have paid on my creditors but I'm dissatisfied with the amount each of my creditors are getting. I'm a little dissatisfied with the amount that they are paying my creditors on my behalf because I'm still left with balances that are not in reach for me to pay, it's just like putting a Band-Aid on a on a sore. I wish they would communicate a lot more and try to get more from my creditors to help me out, in other words them paying my creditors I still have a fairly large balance to pay afterwards. Don't get me wrong I really like that they accepted me and offered to help me pay my creditors off but I'm disappointed because they're not getting more out of my creditors than I thought so it will help me. My two most expensive bills that would that would take years to get those paid off the way that they are going about it so that's why I had a relative that offered to help me pay two of my creditors off.

Well I was under the impression I was going to b debt free in 3 years and it's going to b closer to 5 years now! I made payments to Americor for 8 months then was offered a loan to pay off all of the companies I enrolled in the program. I was told about what they thought they could settle my accounts for which was about half of what I owed. But what I didn't realize was the half they negotiated was how they get paid. So I now have a loan to pay off plus the interest rate is high! They say if I keep up with payments they sometimes offer to refinance at a lower interest rate, or I can seek a loan thu another company to pay off. But I don't think any other companies will offer a good rate after going Thu the long period it took to negotiate so my credit score went down by 100points! It's a hard thing to think about because I've struggled for so many years to get my score to b at a 700! I've been thu a lot and I will get thu this too it's just that I was depending on that 3 year mark and that's outa reach now unless I could increase the amount of my payments but I most likely can't do that because of the cost of living and being a senior we don't get an increase in our income! And I retired on disability so I can't work to make extra money. I know I have the peace of mind I will get there and the collection calls have stopped but it was constant for awhile!

I think overall Americor has been very professional and courteous with me, and have gone above and beyond to answer questions and provide useful information. The reason I am rating them a 4 instead of a 5 has more to do with the whole industry and process of debt consolidation, because I feel like I had to really press and ask difficult questions to get the full picture. Fundamentally, you are transferring debt from one place to another, and at the end of the day I am not saving nearly as much as it sounded like I would be in the orientation. If I had the means to pay the debt off quicker I would save more, but staying steady with payments essentially leaves me paying about $1000 less on a $20,000 debt.

They have a nice website and app. The process takes quite a few months from what I've seen. We just had a little glitch with their automatic calling system there were they kept calling me every couple hours there for a week and I already talked to the person for my welcome on board meeting there so that was a little annoying but otherwise so pleasant overall. The process was super easy, the gentleman that I worked with to get on boarded was very pleasant, knowledgeable, and explain everything out according to how they operate everything. He never made me feel embarrassed or anything and just walked me through everything and it was nice to fully understand the comprehensive service they offer.

It was pretty responsive, the follow ups are very timely so I really didn't have a problem in terms with the customer service it was fine. I talked to another company and their rate is a little lower the monthly pay back was a little lower, not significantly but it was lower. I don't really have much experience or haven't been a customer for a very long but it's just my initial research it seems like the rate could be a little lower. They've been doing this for a while so they're pretty good at it so I think everything is probably just kind of research of the other rate and best rate offer out there maybe to have an idea what their competitors are offering.

It's been good. Everything is getting done. I didn't really get too much communication from them. Americor is definitely valuable. I think it it does what it's intended to do. You just have have to be informed as a client. I feel like everybody on their team was in the same page and it was good to learn. I just felt like there was some misinformation. So it could have been a little better as having the agents handling the accounts more accountable to have to have in the information needed. They are helping us achieve what we needed to achieve. When I spoke to anyone they were always polite and professional. I Had problems with emails and phone calls going to spam. I was told that my credit score may go down, but I was not told that I would have to go months without Americor making payments on my accounts. Every time I did have to call them about something they were very professional with everything as well as available to answer questions. Continuous communication would have been nice. I didn't know that they weren't talking to Wells Fargo until I was getting sued. I was told personally not to communicate with anybody, so it came as kind of a shocker when I was served papers. I just wish I had more information. They did provide the service in a timely manner. It was generally a good experience for me.

This is a great company to use if you're really needing some help as far as controlling debt and getting that down. They work really fast so you have a good quick turnaround on being able to have a real idea of how much you can pay and manage a plan to get out of debt. It was pretty good Iand went a lot faster than we actually anticipated. It's obviously better than filing for bankruptcy but it definitely gets a little stressful when you start having people talking about charge offs on your on your credit reports, but that's just part of the deal which you have to go that route so other than that we've been happy with them. Even though I'm glad I was able to get all my debts consolidated, it was very nerve wracking because it took a little bit longer than I thought. But I'm still so happy with the results at the end of the day. Everything was negotiated down at least by 40-50%, so I'm happy with that. Every time I call, I get someone who is usually really polite and they always answer my questions. We spoke to a lady and we were on the phone with her quite a while and she was extremely kind and courteous. We are kind of new to the program, so I don't really know wat's going on. Another person was extremely helpful, he was patient, he repeated thing,s he didn't talk too fast and he was courteous. I just was very comfortable with what we were doing.

I'm optimistic. The customer service has been great so far. It seems so far like a feasible option. My circumstances are my own but if for those who qualify I say do it. The representatives I've come across walk me through a process and explain things to me multiple times every time I have a question. He was very informative, answered my questions fully, and tried to reassure me to the best of his ability and he was very clear about what was going to happen.

Most of the people were great but I do feel misled by some. The process is advertised as easy and it was pretty easy except it wasn’t exactly as promised. There is something they need to improve such as the debt payment to line credit. I was told it was going to be twelve months and it ended up being eighteen. Overall they did a fair job but you should shop around and get everything in writing. There should be more disclosure upfront. The staff is always friendly and very helpful.

Support is available online and on the phone. It is great. It is a little harder to connect to someone on the phone but they are able to provide answers. Broader range of hours would be great. They are good explaining how their deb services work. Everything was up front. It is easy to work with the program. Americor is great option if you looking for high credit card debt. They work with you.

Every time I need something done, they are there quickly. I am almost all the way through it. I should have taken a little more time beforehand to understand it better. It was all in writing. It has gone how they said. They weren’t very flexible with payment dates. I really had to pay the day before the end of the month to make the payment on the first. It is a very rigid structure.

I just signed up not too long ago. Too early to say if this all works out for me. The representative that I dealt with should have the same engagement after I signed up and I don't think it's the same. They were very engaged before, called me to set up appointments. There was a lot of transparency but since I signed its pretty hard to get in touch with them.

I've researched quite a few companies and americor was definitely the only one that had the friendly costumer service out of all them and americor was the best in how quick they were able to get all the accounts put together and the structure with all the videos and seeing how everything works is just incredibly helpful. The initial person that my husband and I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful in gathering information quick and understanding the situations that we've been through and just did it a great job was just really friendly

Answering her phone calls and updates of information could be a little smoother. I would definitely recommend Americor just because they kind of let it all out on the table. I'm still new to the program, but they give me updates and then inform me before the next payment is due and just keep me up to date with emails and phone calls is out there showing on my account. They did do everything they can to assess any issue that I had and were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Americor did exactly what they said they would. They were informative and easy to deal with. The only reason I don't rate them a 5 is because no one is perfect. I would advise anyone considering debt settlement to look very closely at the fees. They are (in my opinion) a bit high. But, you get the convenience of not having to deal with the negotiations.

I'd recommend them. I had trouble when I first got it that day I couldn't get a hold of anybody until I finally got online and then I got a phone number that somebody answered the phone. They may explain how their system works in covering my automatic payouts you know they left me hanging in there and I'm still still not getting it, I have one credit card company that's covered with the agreement and they're still they're sending me all kinds emails and I haven't been paid yet.

I love how they take much of the stress off of me in dealing with the negotiations with creditors & constantly keeping me in the know of what's going on with my debtors. I'm less than a year into the program & I'm praying I come out financially positive, so I may actually begin to save money.

The only reason I didn’t leave five is because there were times that I didn’t hear anything and because you’re so worried it would be nice for them to check in. I had the app I did go with Credit 9 and right now I am debt free except for the bill to them and just the weight has lifted off my shoulders so thank you.

I didn't like that it took so long to get the first settlement, but now they have been coming pretty regularily. The only real complaint I have is they don't seem to be very responsive to emails, just receive a computer generated response with generally no followup. Other than that, I'm pretty satisfied with the progress so far

I was not able to reach most people when I needed questions answered. The only person I was able to reach was the person I spoke to the first time and his name was Eda and he was wonderful. He had to ask questions to answer to his supervisors to be able to answer my questions.

They're willing to take on my entire debt for about the same price that people were willing to take on half my debt. I'm positive about what's been promised. They gave me straight answers. They told me what's going to happen and so far it's happened just the way they said it would.

It's pretty straight forward and easy. The only thing that I would complain about is the agent that I spoke to he said he was going to schedule a little workshop to go over the app and I never received a call or text message to go over the app, and I just figured it out myself.
