Pest Control Plan Exclusions

Before signing a contract with Terminix for a pest control plan, be sure to read the fine print and make sure the treatment plan provides the right coverage. For example, Terminix’s Guaranteed Pest Control Plan covers treatment for cockroaches, mice, rats, silverfish, “house” ants, clothes moths, non-poisonous spiders, scorpions, centipedes, millipedes, earwigs, house crickets, and paper wasps.

It does not include coverage for carpenter ants, fire ants, pharaoh ants, tawny crazy ants, termites, wood-boring beetles, bed bugs, and mosquitoes.

Homeowners who want coverage for these pests will need to purchase an additional pest control plan for an additional charge.

Service Available in Most but Not All Regions

While Terminix offers coverage in most of the United States, there are five states that Terminix does not service: Alaska, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Vermont.

DO NOT USE This company. The customer service is terrible. I was scheduled for a Friday, got a call on Thursday saying it needed moved to Saturday between 8-10. The time came and went with no call and no one showing up. I called customer service, one rep lied, and hung up on me. Called back and was refused access to a manager. Called to cancel after taking my business to Orkin, they didn't even bother asking why I was cancelling. Do not waste your time with this failing Company.

The cost is steep, they schedule apps then tell you the day before (if you're doing this for a rental, one day's notice is unacceptable), their communicating is terrible, & they don't tell you that the seething is auto-renew unless you call & cancel. Customer service needs serious people skills, especially when the customer is pissed off. I will never use them again.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I had a service done in the beginning of May. There was supposed to be a consultation before hand and the day chosen was not the day they arrived but I digress... After the service was done (or not done) I called back to let them know. I was told by the customer service representative that they would be able to send someone back out. When I asked if I'd be charged, she replied no, it's within the 30 day period... Now fast forward to the second service, I was billed again. I called to sort out this issue and had the rudest customer service rep. who claimed nothing could be done. He (Aaron) would put me on hold for 5+ minutes at a time and come back on the phone saying "sir" after about the 3rd/4th time I called him out on it and asked for a supervisor. He refused and hung up on me. I called back shortly after this and spoke with a colleague of his and she "sent the issue to the branch". Still 4 months later trying to get this resolved... I've tried using the "chat" option and received another rude representative who did not want to help...I called back and spoke with another representative and he let me know I shouldn't have been charged and this claim would be "sent to the branch". I have been trying to have this dealt with but there are no supervisors in reach. I would never recommend Terminix for any type of pest control.

At first they did a good job and got rid of my termites. The same time they sprayed, they drilled a bait station into the concrete patio of my house and patched the holes with concrete. They kept coming back the next 4 years to check the bait station and I was being charged over $300 each year for basically nothing. On the last visit, the man didn't know why he was here as the bait station in the concrete lasts a lifetime. I don't have a yard, just a patio, so there were no bait stations in the ground to be replaced. The report I received would just state the weather temperature, nothing else was ever done. Yes, I paid $350 for the temperature reading from the Terminix guy over the past 4 years. Once I found out the bait station in the concrete was for life, I called to cancel the service. I had to fight with them to let me cancel. It was a stressful, horrible experience. I was finally able to get my contract cancelled and they said I would receive a confirmation in 14 days, I will never recommend their service as much of it is a total scam. If you need someone go local.

I use terminix for monthly service. Last time they came out, the inspector reported Termite Issues. This led to someone else coming out and inspecting concluding that we had a major infestation, pointing out termite "waste" all over our patio floor. If we didn't pay $1970 on the spot for a plan we would end up needing to tent the house at a cost of $8200. We reluctantly signed up. When they came out to treat the house, the rep said we did not have a major issue. The only problem we had was a small one in some wood on our patio roof (which is 90% plastic) which he treated. The "waste" was wood shavings. He looked in the attic and said there were no issues. He was here for less than an hour, and most of that was on the phone with terminix trying to find out why we were told we had a major problem when we did not. I called to complain. A very understanding rep listened, appalled st my situation and promised it would be addressed. A few days later I found out that a neighbour is getting their house tented for $2100..not exactly $8200). A 'manager" finally called back and proceeded to ignore everything I was telling him, refusing to refund a penny, stating I signed up so I have to pay...I was completely misled by the 2nd person that came out. 1st and 3rd were great. I feel like I was given worse than the "used car salesman" treatment scare mongering at its best. Be very aware and careful before falling for their lies and conman approach, preying on people that don't know... Shame on you terminix. Suffice to say I will be cancelling my monthly service. Do not use this company, they just want your money and will lie and exaggerate issues, then when you find out "tough luck, you signed you pay" I run my own business, if I ran it like this I would not be in business long. I was bullied, and scared into signing up and I have nowhere to turn to..out $1970 for a job that took about 15-20 minutes...I wish I could have left zero stars

Could you please verify your full name...? -Hi, William! Do you mind me asking why ... cancel services...? ME -I got this service because I found a soft spot in my floors and was worried it might be termites. However, I was under the house this weekend and found that I never had termites only a bit of dry rot. Your inspector should have confirmed that in the first place. -I understand. I am very sorry for that. This is a preventative and curative termite system. (To save words, I'm redacting the sales pitch to renew at a lower rate next year). ME -That first sentence you just typed is a workaround for your inspector scamming me. However, I'm too busy for small claims court, so continue the service until the end of the month but then do not renew it. -You will need to contact us after your July 26 payment to cancel, as we do not do pre cancels. I have reversed your cancellation request at this time, to keep from charging you an ETF! If you do receive a survey via text within the next 2 business days about the cancellation request, please disregard since it has been reversed. Is there anything else I can assist you with? ME -I'm saving this message and if you charge me again after the 26th, we will go to court. I am not giving you permission to stonewall me and renew my contract. -Sir, I'm advising you of our policies and in order to NOT be charged after the 26th, you will need to contact us again. If you do not contact us again, you WILL continue to get charged. ME-I'm advising you of my policy and you better not charge me after the 26th. -Well, then you do need to call us back after the 26th! I was hesitant to call Terminix because of the mixed reviews. I called anyway and I have not regretted the decision, even though someone had suggested that I use Orkin instead. I want to thank Howard A and Christopher M for being a great asset to the company due to your professionalism, congeniality, diligence and being knowledgeable when explaining the situation. Even the scheduler, Lakisha was very helpful to work with me regarding the timeframe for the services. Now, I saw a water bug afterwards; however, he didn't make it far. That sucka was stretched out. RIP! LOL! I cremated him with the vacuum cleaner! The chemicals work! Yay! Thank you.

We tried a cheaper company, but the saying, "you get what you pay for " applied here!-:( I called TERMINIX, and I got Carlos T, who not only investigated the Type of ant, "fire", but, knew Exactly what was the Best coarse of Treatment to Rid us of them!! We have been customers with Terminix for almost 10 years. We often have people knock on our door and try to get us to switch over, but we're really happy with them. The seem reasonably priced (compared to others) and I think our tech does a great job. We recently had a mouse problem (first time ever) and they really did a great job setting up traps and taking care of it. I also like that you can call in between your services and they'll come right away. They've been good! The only thing I DON'T like is that they will occasionally increase our price out of the blue by just a few bucks.

We have had a pest company coming for several months. Never saw any dead pests and population of pests kept increasing. We cancelled service and hired termi ex to come out. After the service was complete we left for the night. Came back the next evening and there were dead pests everywhere. We are very grateful for the quick precise elimination of them. We will keep terminex recurring services indefinately.

Have used Terminix for over 18 years, since within 11 & 15 months of Redd & J&J treating our homes, Termites were back. It is easy to get frustrated having to deal with some person sitting somewhere who you can tell over the phone could careless 99% of the time they answer, but the Technicians and their Local staff you can tell make a great effort! Gulfport, MS Tech Ashley and Baton Rouge Freddy! Terminix is not always right, but which ones of us are - at least they care and try make it right.

Terminix is the best pest control out there. I had tons of spiders in my home and out , it was so bad that we could no longer sit on our porch. We have been with them for over thirty years. While the level of service is always dependent on the technician, we have almost always been pleased with the overall level of service we have received. They are careful and responsive to our pets, to the removal of spider webs, and to other tailored treatments. We have had no issues: if there are any problems, one call, and they are taken care of. I started working with Terminix about a year ago. I was having a problem with palmetto bugs in my master bathroom. Since I fear those things worse than most crawly things. I called Terminix. My tech is a great guy. He is on time polite and texts me a few days before he’s due to be there. He sprays the outside of my house every three months. I’m happy to say my house is bug free and I don’t have the creepy crawlers any more. I have recommended Terminix to my sister and a few of my friends. I have had a great experience with this company. Since I have an older homes and live near the water and a bunch of trees I had a problem with bats. They also took care of that problem. Polite, on time and helpful. I love the politeness of my tech and the kindness.

Terminex always shows up on time. They are always quick and delivers top notch pest control from roaches to bed bugs and more. Easy instructions to prepare ahead of time is key to success for all customers. I live an apartment building with about 40 more neighboring units. Terminex service is used here at least twice a year for preventative measures and maintenance. I appreciate the service and comfort of a pest free home. I know I can't control others with their pest, but I can control mine. Customers may need to evacuate the property for a couple hours or so. It's a nonissue. The Terminex employee is respectful too. Highly recommend. Outstanding solutions and services. A++

About 2 years ago I was experiencing small ants in the house, and a few other non harmful bugs. I contacted Terminix who provided a comprehensive review of the house and provided a clear path towards addressing these insects. They went into the attic to check to larger rodents (there weren't any), and any signs of rodents. They also looked for termites and found nothing. I set up service with them, had termite baits installed and find Terminix prompt, regular and provide notification of their planned visits and the opportunity to share any concerns that need special attention and I have request that support once. From a service perspective, they are comprehensive. They are a bit pricey, but it's nice to have the peace of mind that comes with this and the total absence of insects in the house throughout the year.

I signed up with Terminix when I discovered a bug infestation in our home. A technician came out within 24 hours and identified the bugs and the treatment needed. As these bugs were tough critters, we had technicians come out between our regularly scheduled applications to retreat problem areas, at no additional cost. Within months, the bugs were gone and we have not had any problems since! Terminix is great about notifying me about upcoming treatments and giving me a window of time when they will be at my house, then, on the day of treatment, letting me know when they are on their way. Their autopay billing is easy. When I have called into their customer service center, the agents have been professional and easy to work with. They are mindful of my pets. They are thorough. I have been very happy with my service with Terminix but most importantly, the results that I got in taking care of my bug problem!

I've been trying to cancel my terminix contract because I cannot afford the $113 a month I keep getting the runaround from this company someone said they would call me and they never did nor can I afford a cancellation fee my technician is superb I have no problem with the technician that has come out to the house he's very professional and very friendly the problem I'm having is with customer service my house payment went up so I'm in financial difficulties I hope this gets to the right person and they can call me back right away to discuss this matter

I haven't even had my first actual service yet and I am not pleased. I have two dogs in my home and (obviously) they cannot be home during the initial treatment. I had to contact my kennel to get them in, in July (prime vacation time). It took two weeks for her to fit us in. No big deal for me. I contacted Terminix to reschedule our initial treatment and it was apparently a huge ordeal. They had to transfer me to a different department that informed me "instead of dropping your service we have you rescheduled for X date." As a paying customer I should be able to schedule MY service at MY convenience as long as it is in line with their operating business hours.

I've had Terminix on and off for years (I lived in a part of the country with fewer bugs for a while so did not have it). Overall Terminix is pretty good at bug prevention. There are occasions where some bugs are just great at coming back (tree roaches and ants for instance) and I do wish there was more Terminix did on that front (hence four stars) HOWEVER they always, always send someone out to follow up and respray when that happens. Overall a service I won't live without living in a southern humid climate.

I paid a year in advance to get the discount on my quarterly service with Terminix. I got the basic pest treatment which covers most the inside and outside of the house. There's been a few times that I've needed to call them so they would come out and take care of a few spiders and a bees nest. Scheduling with Terminix is easy & convenient.

We used to use Alterra, but they were bought out by Terminix in 2015. We did not love Alterra because of how difficult it was to get a technician to come spray when we found bugs inside. Terminix not only kept our pricing as we had with Alterra, but they are much quicker to respond and take care of our needs. Only reason for a 4 star instead of 5 is because it still does a phone call to get someone to spray between quarterly sprays. Would be nice if we could schedule it online or through an app.

This was my first call when scheduling pest control and they were great until I tried out another competitor that was amazing. To be fair, they did nothing wrong but didn’t go above and beyond which isn’t expected just I wouldn’t give excellent as a ranking but they absolutely did not fail me or breach any agreement. I would still use their services as a 2nd option as they are good no doubt.

Terminix is by far a very popular business from where I am from. I remember one of the very popular retail chains where I was a pharmacy technician, they used the company Terminix. I know that they came every single month, like clock work to spray the building and the pharmacy. We never had any issues while I worked there. I ended up using the company for personal use in one of my rental properties and they were very quick, fast, and friendly service. They were also able to rid of the issue we were having.

Before moving into our present home, I lived in a least house. I noticed that there was some activity that I assumed were ants in certain areas of the house. I had notified the owner several times about my concerns. I had talked with a coworker about my concerns and they suggested that I call Terminix. Once the Terminix service representative came out, I was informed that my "ants" were actually "termites"! After a thorough examination of the "termite" situation, I received the good news that my situation wasn't as urgent as first thought. Terminix started the process of isolating the termites, sealing the protective areas of the house, and exterminating the pest. This process could have been much worse, but thanks to the expertise, professionalism, and integrity of the Terminix representative the inconveniences and expense was minimal.

We switched to Terminix when they hired our previous bug guy. He was so good my wife wanted to change companies. Of course, he continued to do an excellent job. While our neighbors had problems continuously with ants and mice, we never have. He also does an excellent job controlling the spiders that seem to breed in the Redwood trees behind our house. They don't want him to spray, but he keeps them away from our yard!

I had a problem with rats in my attic. At the time, I had a different pest control company. They wanted to set traps outdoors & not seal any openings . I called Terminix & they came out several times & set traps. Once there was no more activity, they sealed any entry ways & I have not had a problems since. They are my current past control company & I would refer them to anyone.

The Terminix came out and inspected the entire house and quoted me a price for an extended policy. The employee was very knowledgable, polite, and efficient. I have been using Terminix for going on 1 year and am very happy with their service. The company is very cost efficient for the quality of work that they provide.

If there was a way to leave a review lower than 1 star, I would be all over it. This is the most frustrating customer service I’ve ever experienced. I paid a fortune for Terminex to do an “exclusion” on our home. We’ve had squirrels climb through the roof and get into our stove vent. I’ve contacted Terminex countless times and they only offer empty promises. Nobody ever follows up and nothing has been done to correct the issue. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. They are great at taking your money, but don’t expect anything good here.

Disappointing experience considering this is a company who guarantees their work. They were not punctual. Sent unprofessional technicians to my home. Service was ineffective and overpriced. My experience with Terminix has been a nightmare from the beginning with no visa me end in sight. The issues all begin with not being allowed to speak to anybody locally. All calls go to a center, and every operator promises they'll get the right person to call back. The call back never comes. Anyway...on the day a technician was supposed to come (3+ months ago) we waited 2 hours past promised window + had made arrangements to vacate the house for 3 hours. I called to find out what was going on and was told I had rescheduled. I HAD NOT rescheduled. The tech did without telling me. Because I couldn't speak to anyone locally I called to cancel the flea service, and the upcoming termite set up. The termite tech came out to the house anyway, and installed the bait systems. I called to cancel after I discovered it and was told there was record of my appointment cancellation, so someone would come pick up the baits, and all would be cancelled.. Guess what....? I got bills anyway followed by an auto draw of the monthly charge. This company is obviously up to no good. I have no doubt some people get decent service, but my experience is a pattern evidenced by repeated reviews to the same nature. Now I've found out Terminix was bought by Rentokill. Everyone beware of this/these companies. You are likely to fall victim to the same horrendous practices many others have. Just choose a local company you're sure to have ability to stay in contact with. You will thank me if you do.

Terminix promised me of full exclusion coverage of my house in 2017 as we had some issues with mice getting into the basement and rodent crawling sounds in the attic. I paid more than$2,000 for the full exclusion service in 2017, and have been renewing the annual contract at $200 plus yearly. They put some material in between the sidings and the exterior wall, put some mice traps inside basement but the problems persisted. We continue to hear rodent sounds in the attic until now. Finally I pointed out some entry points on the roof through the space between the eaves and overlying roof/upper row shingle. They told me that I am only covered for rodent entry spots below the roof which was never mentioned when I signed the contract. Even the current online advertisement for residential exclusion services do mention about providing services to fix attic and roof vulnerabilities but when it comes to fixing those issues, they will find a way to not fix these issues. I’m at a loss to understand how they will fix roof vulnerabilities standing on the ground! The customer care representative was quite impatient with me today when I was trying to get the services that I was told would be covered when they sold me the contract. I will be canceling my services with them as the problems I utilized their services for in 2017 still persist. When you call them with troubling pest/rodent issues, they will not be able to even schedule an appointment, let alone fix the issue, even after 48 hours. The local office managers never respond to your calls, customer care never connects you to a supervisor. Please don’t chose Terminix, sign up with your local pest control service providers if you are expecting a complete, prompt and personable service at your home.

BEWARE Panama City, FL Location! Had to call back multiple times throughout the three month period. The product does not last, we were constantly seeing something. There was always an excuse "it's the rain, it's the cold" ( No, we did not have an infestation, but we live by woods.) They specifically advertise that they provide rodent extermination/control. I had a mouse in my room and they gave me a glue trap. When I informed them that I had already tried this, he responded, "Mice are dumb." Obviously, it did not work and I had to catch the mouse by hand in a bucket. I wanted to make sure there were no rats in the garage because my dog kills them and they said there is nothing that they can do about that. (so what exactly am I paying for here?) I had several miscommunications about appointments. They changed them without notice. I asked them to come out and spray one last time before the 3 month term ended and they sprayed the inside and told me they couldn't treat the outside until the rain dried up. They came back to perform the OUTSIDE TREATMENT ONLY, and charged me for a new term of three months saying that it was a whole service performed. I have received countless bills and I called repeatedly and asked for management. It only took them 4 months to respond, only to tell me that I owe them an entire 3 months payment for the one OUTSIDE ONLY treatment they performed. Manager refused to take off the charge. -Heather C (so ya know.)

Very misleading and shady company that take advantage of customers by giving false information! I wish I would have come here first and read the reviews before trusting them in my home. I had a dry wood termite problem in several areas in my home. I called Terminix to come and evaluate and of course they said they would get rid of them for $1500. After seeing that I could not afford the $1500 they said "we know you need it and we can work with you and drop it to $900" I should have seen this as a red flag but didn't. I signed a agreement to do it in installments for 1yr and the first couple of weeks they came out 3 times because the termites would not die. Finally I had a contractor come and tear off the walls and remove the colony which also cost me an arm and a leg. I still havent paid my second payment with terminix and they refuse to cancle my payment agreement when they did nothing!! All they did was make the bugs move to different areas of my house. Stay away for Terminix!! Horrible customer service and just a shady company to deal with. Avoid them if you can.

I have had a terrible experience with Terminix. I hired Terminix because I have an infestation of pantry moth lavae. No moths have been present disincentive before I hired them! I was able to get control of that. However, there us is an infestation of the lavae from the eggs they laid. I was assured by Terminix they could be treated. I have made several calls and a technician has come to my home twice and treatment used has no effect on these things! I have called the customer service and requested a manager return my call to discuss and schedule next course of treatment, there has been no call back and it has been over a week. Customer service has put an escalation on this and still no call back wishing the last 24 hours! This is terrible service!!! And my issue I paid Terminix to take care has not been done!

The company does good follow up. They are responsive when you call them for any issues with insects. My only frustration with them is the billing system. Their website for billing is very poorly done. You sign a contract for monthly services that occur every two weeks. They bill you every two weeks. They will not bill you monthly. We have two properties and I cannot figure out which one they are billing for which services they are do. They cancel one property more than once without notice. I have consider for the past 20 years of cancelling because I am so tried of having to monthly figure out what the bills is

Horrible customer service over the phone (especially the cancelation department). Made me feel like a "number" rather than a valued customer. Essentially, was told one thing by a representative then a completely different by another. In the end, I had to pay for an extra three months. For this mishap on THEIR end, they didn't apologize or even empathize with me. It's frustrating because to them, $130 is nothing, but to the average hard-working person, that can be a lot. My advice to anyone that uses Terminix, be very cautious of what they tell you about your cancelation dates. Again, the worst part is that my previous service to them didn't matter, I was only money NOT a valued consumer.

I have had Terminix coming out for over a year because my neighbors fumigated for roaches and the roaches ran to my home. they have been treating once every 3 months and the roaches are worse now then when they started. I have told the guy that my son has sever asthma and that he also has a sever allergy to roaches and he said that this would not take but a couple of treatments because they were not bad. The guy said he would come back and retreat every two weeks until they were gone and he has not been back out in almost 2 months. Very disappointed with the service that I have received and will be going with another company.
