SunRun claims to monitor their system. My system was out of service for the better part of 2 months and they did not detect it. I did not observe my one bill from SRP was $550.00 until checking my bill for the current month and it was $615.00. Sun Run never discovered the problem, an electric company employee came to my house and said he was checking on a report. "He opened the breaker box and found the Solar main relay was completely melted into a blob of plastic. He called the issue into Sun Run. Three days later a Sun Run employee called me. I told him the problem and he asked me what size the relay was. Later that day they came out and changed the relay. The system worked again and my next billing was reasonable, however the next month was an out of sight $650.00. I called this in and after three days of getting "I will call you back phone message" I got an extremely disinterested lady who told me that there is a system wide replacement if the entire metal electrical panel for problems and mine will PROBABLY be the problem and we will have to get a permit to change it. When asked how long ? she said AS LONG AS 6 to 8 WEEKS BECAUSE THE LIST IS REAL LONG. When I pointed out that I am dealing with a failure and not a routing "get in line, she said she can't do that because "we treat all our customers fairly". So she and another manager don't dee why I think I need maintenance repair now and think I should stay inoperative and paying big electric bills until my name comes up on the long list.; Homer Landreth

I want to warn others about the solar panel company Sunrun, due to my bad experience with them. After almost a year of requesting repairs, they finally fixed my panels, but in the meantime, they kept sending a technician every month without solving anything. Now, on top of that, they are also breaking the contract. The contract clearly stated that the monthly payment would increase by 3% each year. However, in addition to applying that 3% increase, they also added an extra $7.81 monthly charge without my authorization, violating the terms of the agreement. This company does not honor its own contracts and only looks for ways to take more money from consumers. I strongly advise being very cautious before doing business with them.

I've been waiting for months now for these people to fix an installation error. I have sent them all proof of the error; billing statements, pictures, and a report from my electrician..all things they requested. Sunrun will not show up to repair anything unless they know ahead of time, which means you have to hire your own electrician to find their mistakes first. Many many phonecalls and many reasons they give as to why they can't just send someone here, while I still have to pay a Sunrun bill, and a National Grid bill that has not shown improvement, despite showing them bills in the months before and after install, the amount to pay and kwh usage stays the same. I do not recommend Sunrun. My next approach to getting my issues solved is by calling a lawyer.

Reps are very difficult to get a hold of. Once we were powered on, no one noticed even the rep that was assigned to us contacted us to explain how everything will work (apps, setting up our system). The only updates we got was an automated email that said the same thing every time it was generated to email us. There was a guy named Bryce that supposedly our contact person after the installation was complete. We specifically gave Bryce our availability when and if he needs to contact us. He would always reach out to us outside our availability times. Never contacted us to give us instructions on how things was going to work moving forward. I emailed him and asked if he could show us how to use and set up the apps (sunrun, tesla), never heard from him! Up to this day, no one has contacted us to see how things are going and to go over the app and system

Both myself and my neighbor experieced the same issue. All the 'engineering', permits, etc was completed. Equipment and installation crew arrrived at both of our homes, only to see the crew stand around for 2 hours and eventually leaving and taking the equipment back with them. Zero confidence in this company.

So my solar panels have been down since 9/21/25 they are just 25 month old as I was sold in August 2023. The panels are producing a 0Kw since then. Sunrun has raised my rates each year, and refuse to prorate my monthly bill this month. I have an appointment on Oct 17 to "fix" whatever is wrong with them so that is almost a full month that I will not have the service I am paying for $196.80/mo as of today. Please rethink using these guys. They are guaranteed not to lose more than 10% of what the panels can produce and mine are not producing at all here in AZ. Big regrets for signing up.

Sunrun Solar is the worst solar company. There are thousands of complaints against them. Their business practices and contracts are being investigated. They do not pass the CA tax credits on to their clients. The company keeps the tax credits. Don't even know how that is legal? They have the worst customer service. Their Escalation department is a joke. No matter the issue, they take zero responsibility. The customer is NEVER right according to them. There are so may Facebook Groups with thousands of complaints. And there nis no clear way to file complaints against them. There are Class Action Lawsuits against them. I definitely feel they are scammers. The industry needs to have clear complaint process for customer complaints. The CSLB - Contractors State Licensing Board in each state is a good starting point to file complaints. I started a Facebook group - Sunrun Solar Nightmares - Central Valley. There are at least a dozen or more FB groups with thousands of complaints. And still nothing gets done. I have filed at least 20 complaints with various organizations. Most just forward the complaints to Sunrun's Corporate Headquarters in Utah. I have dealt with at least 6 different people in Sunrun's Escalation Department. They are useless. Their contract states that "Sunrun offers a Performance Guarantee. If your system does not produce the power output guaranteed in this agreement, we will refund you for lost power." It also says they will "Monitor the system constantly." They will insure, maintain, and repair the Solar Facility at no additional cost to you including inverter replacement. Their rep showed up at our home and said our invertor was underperforming and he was replacing the inverter the following day. His exact words were "You don't have to be home. You won't even know we were there." He shut our solar off and then never showed up to replace the inverter. I found out when I received a $3700 bill from Edison. They reviewed our account and said we were not on Solar for 8 months. Sunrun guarantees they will "constantly monitor your solar." They obviously do not, or they would have known or solar was not operating for 8 months. They were 100% negligent and refused to cover the cost of their mistake ($3700.00) They offered us $500. I refused it. I have been researching their company and all the complaints. I cannot comprehend there has been hardly any action against this company with the number of people complaining. I submitted my information to Top Class Action Lawsuits. They are working on a class action lawsuit against Sunrun in California. I do research every day on this company. I will not stop until they do the right thing. And I wll assist others that cant get their complaints resolved.

Wow where to begin, we had them install solar 2 years ago and we’ve had nothing but issues. Last September it stopped working, there response we will try to get someone out as soon as possible 2 weeks later tech showed up does a few inspections and we’re up and running. Nice in the meantime my electric bill is $1100.00 higher because of having to run my A/C because of a heat wave nice there response oh we will discount our Sun Run bill $100.00 so $1300.00 electric bill for one month. Now fast forward to this August low and behold San Diego has another heat wave and guess what solar goes down again my first two calls to the company it’s let’s try and reboot the system with no luck. We will send out a tech to look at it but it’s going to be two weeks again. No way not again so my wife and I start calling and to be honest after nine phone calls and getting hung up on (oh sorry we lost your call) I finally went Karen on the elevation rep Brandon who didn’t like being called out for his crappy take it or leave attitude. So in closing don’t go with this company I’m doing my research on them it’s best to go with a company that can provide service after they do the installation. They like the slam bam we’ve got the install there customer service after that is pathetic.

dislike their work habits and communication by not responding to the issues system been down 95% of the time since it was connected now, they say it's the tesla batteries but when i bought into the contract it was with Sunrun not tesla. you buy a new car, and the battery goes out you go to the dealer not the battery company they seem to not care once they have you locked in the contract if it works or not

Great sales pitch... But poor, misleading, and possibly criminal support. Failed to notify us of a system failure that occurred in February, leading us to receive a hefty $5500+ bill from our electric company. The Sunrun contract claims they will monitor your system and ensure it is performing as per your contract... this is absolutely false. The call center reps refused to escalate my call, explain why they failed to notify us, or explain why we are still having to pay our monthly PPA despite having a downed system... They claim the system states there is an issue with the inverter, and they have been unable to secure the part since February. They will not send a tech out to investigate the issue without an out-of-pocket service fee. It's strange new installs can continue, which would require an inverter, yet they are unable to replace my system's failed unit.... Steer clear of Sunrun!!

So let me tell you about Sunrun. They are great when they're trying to get your money, but once you have a problem they pretty much disappear and neglect you. I signed up through Costco. The guy that came was great. He was very knowledgeable. I was sold. One of the things he sold me was a battery which they call a BrightBox. This BrightBox cost me $5,000 and some dollars. For a year and a half I was happy with the equipment and I was telling my friends and family about Sunrun. Well that was before any problems started. Now, back in June, My BrightBox went out. I contacted the company they said they would schedule someone to come out and take a look. OK. So a few weeks later a guy comes out and explains that LG makes the BrightBox and the fuse is blown but LG does not allow them to change a fuse. Instead he'll have to order a new BrightBox and install it in a couple of weeks. A couple of weeks turned into a month. Now, on August 25th a new guy comes out and since I am working from home I told him to go into the garage and do his thing. I come out on my break to see the new battery, but there is no new battery. Same old battery. I call the guy to see what's going and you know what he tells me???? He says, " Oh, your fuse is blown I have to order you a new battery." I say, "No! We know the fuse is blown. You're supposed to install a new battery." He says, " I'll check the work order." Does he ever call back? NO! I call Sunrun, and an hour later an agent takes my info and says someone will call me back within two days. I send customer service an email. To be honest a very upset email. Did anyone ever call me back? NO!!! Did anyone ever email me? NO!!! In short I have a piece of worthless aluminum hanging on my garage wall which I paid $5,000 and some dollars for. Sunrun doesn't care that I've been without it for TWO MONTHS now. If you're interested in solar that's great, but I would not recommend Sunrun as your company.

Installation went fine people came out on time and they got it up when they said they were going to. It's almost impossible to get a hold of a real person and have them actually call you back when they say they're going to call you back and if you ever do get them to call you back they don't offer to help and they don't send anybody out to help you they just give you the run around the entire time. The equipment doesn't work the way they say it's going to work and they're not willing to fix it to make it work. I would tell people to not use their company and if I could go back in time and not use their company I would not use their company. I wouldn't get solar at all.

DO NOT USE SUNRUN!!!! POS equipment did not work, it took about six months of back and forth to finally fix it. My true up bill was $1800, first year when equipment worked it was $180 . They will not help you. Customer service is in another country and they have nothing but canned answers. Sunrun should you to another country, they are unamerican!

I been with sunrun 2yrs ,and I regret it I have 29 panels and my home is 1700sq ft I still have to pay Edison 883.00 or more a month and a annual bill of $6843.00 I sent sunrun the bill asking why im getting a high bill from Edison, they not concern just trying to sale me more panels and a 15k battery, why would I purchase any more products from . I need out the contract this product is not beneficial to my family .My power got turned off had to take out a loan to get the power turned back on. All I end up with is 29 scrappy panels and a vet in debt because of yours panels.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! We recently added more panels to our existing panels. Ever since, our true-up charges have gone sky rock, even with one less person living in the house and one less car being charged. I've emailed and called Sunrun SEVERAL times to explain how my true-up charges were in the thousands (yes, thousands). I was never able to get a clear answer. I ended up calling PG&E myself to find out that they have not received anything from the grid in over 12 months. Which means, we are not getting credit for unused electricity. All this while charging us $61 a month for monitoring our units. Mind you, this is not the first issue we've had with Sunrun. Do your research and look into other companies.

Despite numerous attempts to contact them, I have been left frustrated and unable to complete my tax return. The installation of solar panels caused extensive damage to my roof and resulted in a costly replacement of a window. Although the customer service representative was helpful and reimbursed some of the damage, the overall experience was marred by the lack of accountability from the installation team. The positive aspects were overshadowed by the significant financial burden I had to bear due to the damages caused during the installation process.

I feel disappointed as it has not provided the assistance I was hoping for, and I am still paying for additional charges on top of my regular bill. 1 . Poor communication: After waiting for a month for an appointment, Sunrun sent me an email notifying me that someone would arrive on 11/16/23, but nobody showed up. I called them and they said they did not have a work order for that day, even though an email reminder was sent confirming the appointment. So, they set up another appointment for 11/17/23, and no one showed up for that appointment either. 2. Poor management I have had three different case manager for just this one work order of reinstalling five solar panels. 3. Unexpected arrival with late notice

5 Stars minus 4 Stars for the number of phone calls. I like the website and ease of use, however they won’t stop calling. They typically call 3 times a day and leave a voicemail. When I finally answered the call I was sent to sales to sell me another solar system. The sales person was informative and helpful, but answering the phone called increased the number of times they call per day and week! It doesn’t end!

Disappointing customer support; very shabbily run. No responses to any ticket or emails submitted online. Phone calls have wait times of minimum 30 minutes. Often do not respond back on follow ups. Proactive monitoring of the unit is a failure, they never find out or act proactively on any issue with the system via monitoring they promise to have in place by Sales team.

We have tried for over 3 months with no assist to work with our electric co to get the proper meter. NO HELP...paying sunrun and have lost all our solar power because they did not handle the coordination of getting the proper meter from our electric company(met-ed). I have no recourse but to contact the PA attorney general for assistance. They wont help!! They apparently don't know how a simple installation goes. It's a shame! My disability is exasperated by stress. I would NEVER recommend sunrun!!!

I have had the solar system for almost 2 years. I was told my electric bill would be $60 to $100 a month. I was paying $150 to n250 before solar. Now I pay $200 to solar and between 150 and 200 dollars a month to the electric company. This company sucks.

I’m so glad everyone is happy with Sunrun. I wish my review was as good as everyone. We signed the contract, the beginning of January 2025. As of today, May 10, 2025, we are still without solar. The final inspection was in the middle of April. DID NOT PASS INSPECTION! We were told, if it didn’t pass inspection, we would be on the priority list. FOUR WEEKS LATER, numerous text to our salesman, plus numerous phone calls to the company, saying they would get right on this, we are still sitting here with NO SOLAR. I guess you need to buy the solar system, to get action. We leased.

I found the installation process quite disappointing as the critter guard was installed incorrectly, leading to damage on my roof from pigeon droppings. Additionally, I really wish I had a battery to store energy for nighttime use, as most of my electrical needs arise after dark. Overall, I'm not satisfied.

The installation process with SunRun was efficient and professional. However, the lack of clarity from the salesman regarding costs has led to higher expenses for me post-installation. If given the chance, I would reconsider signing a contract with SunRun due to increased electricity expenses.

I've been waiting since January for a problem to be resolved, and it's still not taken care of. The installation was done years ago, so that's not the issue. The real problem lies in their poor customer service. It's frustrating to deal with a company that doesn't prioritize resolving issues in a timely manner.

Their customer service is awful. I went online o October 11. I continued to get bills from my original electric company for 5 months. I could not get anyone to listen to me. Finally I got a call fromOncor and they walked me through what needed to be done. I think it is finally working right.

Sunrun installed my system of 18 panels in October 2022. upon installation and signing the contract, they guaranteed me 9600 KWH right now. My system is only producing 80% of that when I go back in and talk to him and ask him to be able to look at it they’ve confirmed that one of my panels on my east side of my house does not get any sun and they’re confirming that it doesn’t get the full sun that it was supposed to have gotten!! Upon working on this for at least 5 to 6 months trying to figure out what was wrong or what they could do for it. The best they could come up with was since I’ve paid for my system that it was my system. It was my problem. They’re not living up to what their contract said that they were going to live up to, and I think that Sunrun misrepresented themselves And took me and it should be taken and put into a legal case in hiring an attorney which I’ve been advised to do just be careful of working with this company. this company no longer works in Arizona and I can understand why they were lucky that Costco had them in their store. Otherwise I would’ve never ever ever signed up with him very disappointed in this company 29,000 out the door.!!!!!!!

After my original review, Sunrun’s Escalations Team reached out, promising to look into my concerns. Weeks later, they have failed to take any meaningful action. Since then, I have connected with at least eight other customers who were all deceived by the same Sunrun salesperson, Luis “Louie” G. This is not an isolated issue—every single one of us was misled by Louie, who falsely promised low rates, lied about contract terms, and used high-pressure tactics to push sales. Sunrun promised me that my system would be pay-per-use at $0.27/kWh, but the contract I was given—after installation—locks me into a flat-rate bill with annual price increases. Additionally, they installed battery storage in a non-approved location on my bedroom wall, despite my objections. When I told the installers to stop, I was pressured into accepting the installation in exchange for $1,000, with the false promise that the system could be moved later. Now that I have tried to get it relocated, Sunrun refuses to take responsibility. Despite having clear evidence of fraud, Sunrun refuses to honor its promises, adjust contracts, or remove systems that were falsely sold. Their sales representatives lied about pricing, misrepresented the billing structure, and pressured customers into confirming contracts they never even saw. At this point, we are: • Filing legal action against Sunrun • Submitting formal complaints with the CPUC, CSLB, FTC, BBB, and IRS • Gathering additional victims who were also misled by Louie If you were also deceived by Luis “Louie” G or any other Sunrun representative, email us at sunrunvictims@gmail.com. We are organizing a legal case and gathering more individuals for action. Sunrun needs to be held accountable for its deceptive business practices. If you are considering going solar, do not trust their salespeople without reviewing every detail in writing with legal counsel. This version is strong, factual, and clearly lays out the fraud. It also invites other victims to come forward, which can strengthen legal action.

We were used from the start, got solars and referred our daughter and she got them also, we were promised, sign up, auto pay and referral money, now Sunrun sent letter that we are not getting anything, just excuses per letter we received per email from Jenny Hickmott! I no longer want Sunrun solars on my home, come get them!

Hello Jed. Keep in mind that the size of your utility bill is based on your usage. If your bill is higher than last year, you may be using more power than last year. Since your Sunrun rate is lower than that of your utility, that means you'd be paying even more for your current usage without solar. In other words, you're still saving.

My original review is with the Better Business Bureau if you like to read it. I had multiple contacts with Sunrun. NOTHING isn't working properly, yet I'm paying my monthly payment. Sunrun staff have been at my house numerous times to fix the same item. Whether it was realigning the solar panels on the roof, hopefully my roof won't leak into the attic this winter. Sunrun or 3rd party came to enter the attic 6 times because something wasn't working properly, still isn't. They came 6 times to fix the electrical panel which still isn't working properly. They are coming back on October 8, 2024, because the coils are not working still, no savings yet from my electric company. The install was May 2025, apparently the go of system was July 25, 2024. What month are we in and nothing is communicating with each other, the solar is sending all energy to the Grid and not my home on the tesla app. I had to adjust my schedule numerous times for Sunrun to fix something, sometimes Sunrun wouldn't show up and if they did, it still wasn't fixed right. I have never been disappointed with a company like this. Plus no one knows how to communicate with each other. I had so many contact persons that stated only contact me, however someone else would contact me and state they will arrive Thursday to fix something and then my original contact person had no clue what was going on. The Fresno area needs to refocus and regroup the whole dynamics of the structure of the business. Very unprofessional and Zero customer service.

I was misled by Randy H. into believing I would receive a promotional $1,000 check for signing on with Sunrun. After installation, Sunrun had no record of such a promotion as it relates to me. Also, most do not benefit from what was said to be a 30% tax credit from the government. As a retired/unemployed citizen I pay no taxes and so I receive no tax credits or any hope of $1 back on my investment. If Randy H. would have told me this, I would have never had Solar installed and I would have avoided arguments with my justifiably incredulous wife. Also,, if one does qualify for tax credit, they only have 5 years to claim it. In most cases people do not pay nearly enough taxes to claim the full credit. For example, if you install a $50,000 system as my neighbor did you would qualify for a $15,000 tax credit. This means that unless you usually pay $3,000 when you do your taxes, you will not receive your 30% back in 5 years. As I see it, if you are in less than an upper-middleclass income bracket, you should not go solar.

Unfortunately, I have bad experience with Sunrun. My bill with Edison was $150/month or less during the year and $600 to $800 during July and August. Now with Sunrun, I am paying $221.00 to Sunrun and $50 to $100 during the year and $500 to $600 during July and August to Edison. I spoke to the sales manager, and she gave me a SMART idea, I should appreciate her and Sunrun about her advice and mentality, she said: "you can turn off the refrigerator if you think it will increase the electric bill" . I reached out again to my Sales rep. and he helped me to get in contact with a Manager from Sunrun, her name is Yosselin. She tried with a professional way to show me that the solar system is working good but my consumption increased. Then she suggested to have her team call me to add more Panel and for sure pay more and she reached out to me in June 24, 2024 saying the Team will call me and till now 8/26/2024 end of Summer 2024 I didn't hear back from Sunrun Team. I won't recommend the service of Sunrun for anybody. All that happened around June 2024 and till now
