Our experience with Sunrun solar: A+ We have a 3100 sq.ft. home in Massachusetts with central air/heating that uses heat-pumps with a backup natural gas fireplace for exceptionally cold nights. Fifteen months ago, we contracted with Sunrun to install a 19kw panel system on our barn roof. I’ll review our experience in 3 phases: design/installation, operational experience, and customer service. Design/installation: a tricky but rewarding experience. Our home is 240 years old; the barn, 200 years, is attached to the house and has a recently replaced roof. Given the barn’s age, Sunrun initially declined to install the system there, but – through a careful free consultation with their Engineers – a close inspection qualified the barn for use with no hassle. The system design was calibrated to our selling enough excess energy to the local utility in the summer to carry us through the less efficient winter months at no additional cost for the electricity used. That calibration has proven precisely correct. The installation teams were professional and courteous. We chose the option for a fixed rate payment for 25 years to avoid the high inflation of utility rates and recommend that approach. Operational experience: could not be better. No defects, no problems; works as designed. Customer Service: outstanding. Sunrun pays attention, provides a useful monitoring app, and responds to any concerns promptly (I had a misunderstanding of billing procedures and actually enjoyed clearing it up on the phone). This system ranks as a major investment and we were nervous in the beginning, but our experience with Sunrun has allayed our anxieties and would recommend them to others without reservation.

I chose to work with Sunrun for the ease of it. They figure out everything for you, install it and maintain it. Some choose to purchase a solar system outright but I chose not to because of the upfront cost of doing so. I’m essentially renting for a monthly fee that’s lower than what I paid my electric company.

I had heard good things about Sunrun and was considering calling them when they showed up at the door they figured out quickly that I needed 32 panels install them and I’ve had them now for several years and my true up bill. I just paid was $19. This is exactly what I was looking for and we have two air-conditioning units that run full-time during the summer in 100+ degree heat.

This is our second experience working with Sunrun. On both occasions, Sunrun has been our support system making sure we are delivered the cost saving energy promised by utilizing Sunrun Solar. We are more than satisfied knowing we are no longer wasting money paying the utility companies. One flat fee a month, to rent the panels, is perfect for our household budget. The amount of energy our panels produce monthly is sufficient to pay our electrical usage, the battery backup function assures us we are always protected from losing electricity in the event of a power failure! Who doesn’t love to save money and to live a stress free life. Sunrun Solar is the best upgrade you can make to your lifestyle.

The reason why I join Sunrun because I was hearing a lot about saving on energy and the allergies may have been suffering due to the climate weather. We’re experiencing over the past several years.. I first looked into Generac, but that wasn’t a good fit for what I was looking for. I ran into this one guy who represented Sunrun Solar first. I was skeptical about having panels put on my roof but at the same time I’m seeing many solar panels going up in the neighborhood in my surrounding communities Mr. Ozzie representative came to my home and shared with me about the benefits of having a sunrun solar system and how I could save on costly energy bills generating from my current provider. However, I still had to qualify to see if my was Home a good fit for the program and the government resources / Grant . I had to qualify for and also my home roof had to respected thoroughly in order to support the solar panels. Remember, this is a system where a lot of moving parts had to be covered by the Village Inspectors as well and approving permits . With all of this being said to whomever is out there looking for solar panels this is a phenomenal system Sunrun has. I am happy. I got the system, and my utility Monthly bills are much lower and manageable than my old system however they do work to gather with com Ed. As in gaining credits from the grid by using Solar. Look into it , Some people Will like it and some will not. But the one is best for me and my home. I’m really am enjoying savings especially in the summer months when we are using air-conditioning more often but let’s not leave out winter we use heat to win those cold seasons think about it. In my opinion, Sunrun is a trustworthy and reliable company. Some of my friends chose other solar companies, but after only three or four years, they either experienced equipment issues, found that their solar company had gone out of business, or couldn’t even reach anyone for support. I wish I had gone directly through Sunrun instead of a company at the mall that claimed to be part of Sunrun. Based on my experience, I'd recommend being cautious when dealing with SoCal Energy Group. Once Sunrun took over, they corrected the system by adding the proper number of solar panels, and the difference was night and day. Their customer service actually answers the phone and follows through. A special thank you to Nivin H. and Megan. Since my installation in 2022, they've consistently stayed in touch to make sure everything has been working properly. That level of customer care is hard to find. If you're considering solar for your home, I highly recommend contacting Sunrun directly and asking for Nivin H. or Megan. You won't regret it.

I have had my solar panels since 2015 and have NEVER had an issue. They do very well producing energy which in turn Eversource buys back from me then credits my electric bill. I’ve carried a credit for many, many years! When I have had to contact customer service, they are very courteous and knowledgeable. They take the time to make sure that all your questions and concerns are addressed. I have a friend who went with another solar company and she does get any where near the benefits I get. I did tell her about Sunrun and she now regrets her decision. If you want to do right by the planet and keep more money for other essentials, then Sunrun is the way to go!

When my system wasn’t communicating to Sunrun, they sent some out immediately to investigate. Turns out it was just a glitch on their side. My system was working completely and reporting into my electric company. Everyone I’ve talked to at someone has always been polite and professional. After working with them from start to finish, I’ve experienced nothing but the best customer service.

Our house was just hit with a level 1 tornado. Sunrun installed our solar panels 5 years ago. Installation went smoothly. We have not had any issue with panels or service. We added on a front porch two years ago and needed a few panes removed and reinstalled. They came and took the panels off and returned to reinstall as agreed to. Nothing but good things to say an about their service and communication. It’s also good know we are saving and giving solar back to the grid!

When we started with Sun run over 14 years ago, they had the best cost for equipment and the best kilowatt cost. As a matter of fact, we had eight other people on our street purchase after we installed and everything was successful. It’s been a great help on our electric bill. More people ought to have solar. Every time I’m in Home Depot, which I do a lot of outside work for people I talk to your sales rep and I tell him it is the best thing I ever did.

We’ve been with Sunrun for over 12 years and at the end of 10 years we chose to expand the system to 22 panels from 12. In all the years we’ve been with them we haven’t had any issues that I can remember. Our monthly bills have gone down to essentially zero in the intervening years. It is great to be able to run the A/C during the summer and not have to worry about the cost to our electric bill. 😊

I had a great time talking with Nick. I was a little skeptical about solar. Nick told me that it would be a very positive thing to go through with it. I had him set me up. I now have six dollar Atlantic City Electric bills and last month they owed me $12 and some change so thank you Nick getting away from those five $600 bills was a blessing so thank you.

We were super eager to get a battery wall installed due to rolling blackouts, as well as power owns during fire/high wind season. We called Sunrun and they sent us Josh G. He came and looked at all our Edison bills for the year, totaled them up, gave us our new monthly power estimate which was much less than the average price we had been paying Edison, and not only did our bill go down, but it included the installation of some new extra solar panels (since we let him know we were planning to build a pool and own an electric car in the future, so we wanted to plan ahead when we added new equipment), the new lower pricing also included two Franklin wall batterys and a brand new electrical panel. Someone else on my street hired them for the same thing and there was a little mixup with our equipment from the installers, but Josh was quick to hop in and get it straightened out. It’s nice I didn’t have to call customer service and he was happy to help sort it out for us. That is going above and beyond. I’ve referred him to several friends and family and excited about the $1000 referral bonuses! Our wall batteries have come in to use several times last Fall, and our Edison bill has stayed in the negative or under $30 each month. We definitely feel the savings.

If you are thinking about getting solar, and you're undecided on what company to install it, I highly recommend SunRun. I had an issue with my roof before I could have my solar installed, but SunRun had a solution! So my experience with SunRun couldn't of been better! Above my expectations all the way around. The system was installed at no cost and the agreed-upon monthly payments are lower then paying an electricity bill every month. It hasn't happened yet and I hope it doesn't, but the fun part is going to be if the electricity does goes out, I'll still have power! I don't usually write reviews, but SunRun I couldn't help it, they deserve it. The reps from SunRun, Mohamad, Stephanie, and Misty, the ones that guided me and updated me through the process were also great.

When I bought my home, it came with an existing Sunrun solar system. I'll be honest - I wasn't sure what to expect taking over someone else's solar contract, but eight years later I can say it's been one of the best hidden perks of this house. The transfer process was handled professionally, and Sunrun made it easy to get the account set up in my name. Since then, the system has just quietly done its job year after year. Consistent performance, reliable energy production, and real savings on my electricity bills — month after month, year after year. What impresses me most is the longevity and reliability. Eight years in and the panels are still performing well. No major issues, no dramatic drops in output. For a system I didn't even choose myself, it has more than earned my trust. If you're buying a home with Sunrun already installed, don't be intimidated by the contract transfer - it's worth it. And if you're considering solar in general, the fact that these systems hold up this well over the long haul says a lot about the product.

I first met Willy at Home Depot ! He simply asked me a few questions about how much I’ve been paying for my electric bill was and I told him my husband does that in a way to not be interested! But I could feel a connection with Willy so I said yes let’s get together and see if it would be something we could do! Willy was kind and knowledgeable and I trusted him to be fair and honest! My installation is today and Willy came to make sure for a smooth install day! I would recommend 100%

It was easy and convenient. It was nice to have the rep come to me and tell me how they could help lower my electric bill. They also told me about getting a battery.
