SunRun is a scam. Be prepared to pay HUGE, as in thousands of dollars for a tru-up at the end of the year. Our supposed lower PG&E bills have over doubled since we got the system. We went through SunRun because they were in Costco and we trusted them. They got the sale and now we are in a really bad spot financially because of it. I would do your research very carefully before using them. They are no longer in Costco because they are horrible!

Brian G

They forgot to install a piece of equipment on the roof for the panels which caused my room to get flooded with water. Now they refuse to fix my floors because it was only damaged in one area of the floor(over 4 laminate planks where damaged). Mind you they haven’t checked the roof plywood for any damage ( I installed the roof in 2022 completely brand new btw). Don’t use SunRun they don’t care about your property!

My original review is with the Better Business Bureau if you like to read it. I had multiple contacts with Sunrun. NOTHING isn't working properly, yet I'm paying my monthly payment. Sunrun staff have been at my house numerous times to fix the same item. Whether it was realigning the solar panels on the roof, hopefully my roof won't leak into the attic this winter. Sunrun or 3rd party came to enter the attic 6 times because something wasn't working properly, still isn't. They came 6 times to fix the electrical panel which still isn't working properly. They are coming back on October 8, 2024, because the coils are not working still, no savings yet from my electric company. The install was May 2025, apparently the go of system was July 25, 2024. What month are we in and nothing is communicating with each other, the solar is sending all energy to the Grid and not my home on the tesla app. I had to adjust my schedule numerous times for Sunrun to fix something, sometimes Sunrun wouldn't show up and if they did, it still wasn't fixed right. I have never been disappointed with a company like this. Plus no one knows how to communicate with each other. I had so many contact persons that stated only contact me, however someone else would contact me and state they will arrive Thursday to fix something and then my original contact person had no clue what was going on. The Fresno area needs to refocus and regroup the whole dynamics of the structure of the business. Very unprofessional and Zero customer service.

I was misled by Randy H. into believing I would receive a promotional $1,000 check for signing on with Sunrun. After installation, Sunrun had no record of such a promotion as it relates to me. Also, most do not benefit from what was said to be a 30% tax credit from the government. As a retired/unemployed citizen I pay no taxes and so I receive no tax credits or any hope of $1 back on my investment. If Randy H. would have told me this, I would have never had Solar installed and I would have avoided arguments with my justifiably incredulous wife. Also,, if one does qualify for tax credit, they only have 5 years to claim it. In most cases people do not pay nearly enough taxes to claim the full credit. For example, if you install a $50,000 system as my neighbor did you would qualify for a $15,000 tax credit. This means that unless you usually pay $3,000 when you do your taxes, you will not receive your 30% back in 5 years. As I see it, if you are in less than an upper-middleclass income bracket, you should not go solar.

This could be a GREAT company. It's their customer service that is horrible! As of Sept 10, 2024, now over three years since I signed up with them, the install is not finished. I have tried and tried to get a service person to come look at what's not finished or working, and customer service will not send someone out. I now have the California State Contractors Board working on getting them to come out. There is so much more I could add to this, Like how I wrote a letter to the President of the Sunrun, her office didn't even reply. Or, I had missing stucco around my electrical box outside for 28 months. Backup battery not connected to my house. The sad thing is, I had two other houses I was going to have them install solar. And the rating stars below, if they would have done there job in a timely manner and customer service would have treated me as a valuable customer, they would all be 5 STARS! So be very careful if you use them!

I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from the person sent to help with my tax income. Despite numerous attempts to contact them, I have been left frustrated and unable to complete my tax return. The lack of response and assistance has been terrible, and I am at a loss for who to turn to for help. This experience has left me feeling unhappy and dissatisfied with the service provided.

The overall experience was great. The dollars on roof look great. The wiring and battery look great. There were some stucco holes patches that could have used more detail. The one part I disliked was the painting. It was rushed and does not look professional. There are places where the paint seems to have been done to cover up only.

My experience with Sun Run was disappointing. Despite full sun all day, the energy generated was low. The winter energy accumulation was also unsatisfactory. Even after spending $200 for an evaluation, I was still disappointed. I would not recommend Sun Run.

We have had our solar system for almost 2 years now. When we sized it we wanted to have some additional capacity for a heat pump. Our thinking was we could cut our oil bill for heating in the winter and save on cooling costs as well. It turns out we saved a lot this winter. Our oil usage was cut by mor the 50%. Solar is the way to go. Sunrun delivered more then was expected.

The service is great. In the summer of 2022 my electric bill jumped from $150's to almost $500 with Ameren. I immediately started looking into solar. After originally talking with a different company, what they offered was no where even close to matching the power I was using. So Sunrun looked at that plan and came back with a much better plan. My Next Ameren bill is $10 per the notification. I am making so much power even running my AC at 68° that my gas portion of my bill has also disappeared!

I was skeptical at first with some of the negative customer service reviews. But I have to say this was one of the best decisions I’ve made honestly, I pay less for electric and will continue to do so over the next 20 years plus, I got a battery bonus Rebate card of over $4000, I have a Tesla back up battery to power through any electrical outage and at zero cost whatsoever. My equipment has been running for almost a year with no issues and my electric bill from my power company has been in the negative for over six months. I can’t be happier.

Customer service is great ! Very helpful, Juan walked me through every step of obtaining solar, the entire NV energy process, along with my project manager. They made the leasing and installation of solar very easy. The installers were kind, courteous and very helpful the day of the installation. I would recommend Sunrun for all of your solar needs !

We had a few mishaps along the way. But overall, we are very happy with the outcome on the looks from the street and how the system works. We are so glad to get the battery backup system. Happy to be saving money on electric from SCE, those bills were killing us. Our Rep Ryan really took care of us along the way, and we didn't pay a dime for any part of the system as it went up. Looking forward to years of hassle free and cost effective power. Thank you!

Sunrun and I sort of helped each other . I couldn’t afford the cost of putting the panels on my roof myself so with their plan, I was able to put panels on my roof and share the electricity with them. They voted the cost of the panels and I got the benefit of a very low electric bill and when my panels need to be replaced, I would like them to do it again.
