We have 2 systems with SunRun. The first system installed has been a 5 star experience. A few years ago we added a second system with a battery to offset the expensive time of use fees now charged to solar homeowners. This 2nd system has had some issues which is why the overall rating is 4 stars. At this time I believe all issues are resolved and the last time SDGE had an outage (last week), we still had power due to our battery. That’s a 5 star experience.

For the most part, Sunrun did a great job, it seemed there were a lot of people/moving parts to this, so although there were some hiccups, they were taken care of promptly after communicating the issue. Some things I wasn't so pleased about - receiving the panels at 6am without warning (never received a call or text to let me know) therefore being woken up randomly and having to step out in my pjs to let them know I had communicated the week prior and needed to reschedule, hearing "this is my first time doing this" from one of the installers and then finding a bar left behind on the roof (lucky it didn't roll down on its own), and random miscommunication here and there. Again, I understand there were a lot of steps to this, so for the most part, I can say I'm very satisfied with the work, just hope the company can use this feedback to work on the back-and-forth a bit better. Disclaimer - haven't had a chance to actually test out the system yet, this is all just pertaining to the period of time between the signing of the contract to the power on stage.

We set up our PPA with another company and then Sunrun installed our system. The installation took almost a year to complete and there was some damage to our roof tiles and rain gutters, which were both eventually repaired. Since that time, however, everything has been fine.

The initial customer service person indicated that she would be available to guide us through the process on an ongoing basis. This was not the case. Her availability ended after installation and set up. When I had questions about how to proceed to qualify and apply for SRECs, and federal and state rebates, she took a "not my job" attitude. This left us to call customer service reps for help on how to proceed. It took many months, after several calls, to finally get someone to assist us. Since then, the customer service reps and the few needed customer service calls have been addressed very well. The Sunrun product itself is working as expected and we are very satisfied.

They said they were gonna put the screen guard to keep the birds and stuff away and I've called in 2 to 3 times over the past few years and they still haven't bother to show up to take care of it. Most of my questions other than that have been resolved but it usually takes a couple of times before I get an answer. Instillation went very good. They showed up when they said they were going to and got the system up and running. The only thing that took time were getting approvals through the city. The bills have been strictly taxes and fees. It's producing enough to cover at least 10 months a year one more panel probably would have got me the whole year.

Haven't run into any issues with the equipment - so far it's running well. I had to check on their installation work and constantly monitor. They want to run the conduit right above my living room and it would be ugly. So I had to ask them to route to the top of the roof so it's not visible. That's the only thing I didn't like about it. I'm glad I caught them before they did that. A while back I received an email that said my bill was going to increase from $105 to $157 - when the contract said I would only have a 2% increase annually. So I called the rep, and the rep said that the price was wrong. I asked SunRun to confirm and they said they don't know how the $157 got sent to me, but they didn't want to confirm the new price of $107.

The people are great. Problem of reliability. First experience of losing PG&E line power, SunRun system went DEAD, (this is with battery backup). Eric (SunRun) engineer was able to troubleshoot the problem to 9V battery that powers an electronic computer board made by Solar Edge. Solar Edge was suppose to be monitoring our SunRun system but did not catch this problem. It seems the only way to verify that our system is working is via actual power outage and not through simulation (which is done when checking out the system; ie: turn main PG&E power breaker 'off & on'. We will not know if our 'solar system with battery backup' is actually working until we have an actual PG&E area power outage, which would only happen during some disaster, ie; power lines down, flooding, etc. This is not a good time to verify an emergency power backup system. Hopefully SunRun will remedy the design issue with Solar Edge in the near future.

I have 10 years of experience in the solar business. I'm an independent business owner that represents Zoom Solar and they use SunRun to do their installations. We already had a SunRun run facility in Bethlehem and I wanted to talk to them about getting another one installed up in Lake Harmony. It seems like they're not up there yet though. The representative that we talked to was very good. They were very professional and proactive when I called in for information regarding the process. From start to finish that takes about 3 months, with most of the process being related to permits. I feel very good about working with them. Since I work for Zoom Solar, I get a residual income every month for using the system.

When I moved to Phoenix I had a lot of companies come by offering solar. At church I actually talked with someone that turned out to be the manager for SunRun. Since I hadn't been around for too long, I wasn't really eligible for solar but once I hit the one year mark I talked to the SunRun manager and got everything figured out. All around they did a great job, everything was done seamlessly. I met a lot of representatives and they were all very polite and professional. They're extremely busy so sometimes it took them a little while to get back to me, but they always called back. The welder installation team did a fantastic job. There were a lot of things coming onto the roof and they did a very professional job. My electric bills are now lower.

It took longer than it should have, but to be fair, the LADWP isn't known for being fast or efficient. The required new power panel had to be changed, as well as the placement/layout of the solar panels, which could be blamed on the project manager or coordinator, but the various LADWP inspectors can also be blamed for not communicating these required changes MUCH FASTER! I tried to be fair and considerate that the COVID-19 pandemic wasn't over at the time, but this excuse only goes so far!

Our two year old battery backed-up 19 panel system has performed flawlessly. Worked perfectly through multiple outages. Installed before CA reduced the net metering reimbursement, we enjoy much lower PG&E bills. The electrical installation crew was top notch. Pay close attention to the roof guys. Make sure it isn’t inadvertently compromised. Downsides?: poor communication back in 2022. Project tracking was sparse. Schedule delays left unexplained, but in fairness, some of it due to city inspection delays.

I was pleased with the service from Sunrun. However, I'm disappointed that they don't work with my ATS company in Arizona, causing a 24% increase in rates. Despite having 32 panels on my roof, I don't see the expected savings. When I reached out to my rep for an explanation, I never received a response. Overall, a bit disappointed with the lack of communication and the increased costs.

I contacted the company regarding an issue and was assured a callback within 48 hours, but had to follow up after 5 days. The referral process could be improved. I referred a neighbor who was told to wait for inspection, despite already having it done. There seems to be miscommunication. Overall, the customer service needs to be more efficient and better coordinated to avoid such issues.

Overall, my experience with SunRun has been a mix of positives and negatives. While the initial service and maintenance of the solar equipment have been satisfactory, the customer service in terms of follow-up and responsiveness has been lacking. Despite this, the 20-year lease with output guarantees has provided peace of mind and overall satisfaction with the system's performance. The true-up at the end of the year has also been minimal, which is a plus.

I recently had solar panels installed by SunRun on two of my houses in Arizona. The installation process went smoothly and quickly. However, I am still receiving high bills from Tucson Electric, so I can't say for sure if it was worth it. SunRun has moved out of Arizona, so I can't compare my bills to theirs. Overall, it seems like a good deal, but I would advise others to wait and see before making a decision based on my experience.

The amount of money I pay each month is super! Have the app so can track my energy amounts and that my panels are working. Have had no need for customer service since installation. I like that Sunrun is constantly monitoring their equipment and will take care of it if anything goes wrong. My rep was super attentive until the system was all turned on and now I struggle to get a response to a question via text. I have yet to receive the money promised for referring a customer.

I didn’t like that my system was not working for over a month before Sunrun said something in email. I kept looking online and it said it wasn’t registering but was probably working. However when tech came and checked the breaker had been tripped and not working. So I had to pay monthly Sunrun bill plus Edison took their share also. So double dipping for over a month. Irritating to pay both companies.

Sometimes it takes a while to get back and the relaying of the information is not always understandable for all customers. It's generating good power. I'm not sure if it's available in the New York City metropolitan area, but you guys should improve on battery storage. I think that would make the service 10 times better and more cost effective for the consumer.

It went very smooth and it was easy, but I'm having problems with my PGE bill. My first bill after my other True bill shows that I have a $500 True bill in this month it's gone to $900 and I don't understand why my True bills are going up and up and up. And I haven't had a chance to call PG&E and SunRun to find out what's going on. I've always had to pay a True bill and I was told originally I wouldn't have to pay one or very minimal.

The roof was replaced at cost with someone that SunRun had arranged and then their people came and put everything in a day. The ydid locate the inverter and to ther equipment where I wanted it more so than where the company might put it so by default I was pleased with that. So far I haven't had issues with the equipment. I haven't really had to do a lot with them after installation.

They're very helpful in how they provided us with details. We had SunRun come out several times to get things straightened out with electrical aspects and the connections. They responded promptly and courteously and effectively. They haven't come out to clean the solar panels which are full of trash and dirt. It's been working very well and when we had power outages, we were grateful to have the electrical connections.

The installation process was excellent, very neat and well organized. The people were knowledgeable and I was very happy with the installation. The curb appeal has not been affected by the equipment, they're not visible to people driving up to my house. Their customer service absolutely the best. I dealt with a gal by the name of Carly and she was on top of her game. She got back to me on a consistent basis.

The representative was very personable and he explained he whole process to me, which was very helpful and he was very understanding. I am having problems receiving the documentation that I was supposed to receive and that is my only issue with their customer service. I was supposed to receive some visa gift cards and I have got collection calling me about payment, which the gift cards were supposed to go towards. The people who set it up were very professional and they involved me in the entire process, I really appreciated that. I am pleased with how it looks.

The panels are working well so far and their customer service is very good. The reason I did not give them a 5 is because we have still had to pay electric bills to Edison every month. They are $20+ each month. I did not expect that based on what we were told by the sales person which was that Edison would be purchasing unused power from us (and we would have unused power for them to purchase) and we would end up getting money back from Edison. Instead, we have been paying every month except the first month since our panels were installed.

Thank you for contacting Sunrun Customer Care. To determine how much the solar system produced, as well as how much energy you used within a given month, you will need to look at both your Sunrun invoice and utility bill.

The Sunrun invoice will have the total amount produced. Your utility bill will show how much excess energy was pushed to the utility grid and stored as a credit. Your utility bill will also detail how much additional energy you needed to purchase from the utility.

The sum of the total production from the system and the additional amount purchased from the utility is your total usage. Unfortunately, Sunrun does not have access to the utility company's internal billing and metering, so we cannot tell you how much energy was stored as a credit with them.

I choose them because they were at Costco and they are a reputable company in my area. The overall customer support has been good. The coordinators were in close contact with me and checked on the progress and scheduled appropriately. They followed their commitments and time schedule. Some tiles were broken installation but they were later replaced. I am fairly satisfied with the equipment and quality.

I wish there was more immediate information on their site, My Sun Run, available to me. I know others who have Sun Run and they can access all kinds of real time information, how much they are producing, what amount APS is buying. I find all I get is bare bones information, How many Kwh produced the day before.I find it hard to judge what kind of service I am getting with such limited information.

Scheduling for the construction process took longer than I had expected. Required a second inspection which could have been avoided in my view. The partnership with Costco required full payment (financed) before construction would begin even though SunRun didn't get paid until after final inspection. Costco paid a 3% rebate however. I was told that the conduit would be painted to match the house and that never occurred.

We signed up for it because of a friend's referral. Basically, we wanted to save money and be self sufficient. Their installation people should make sure that everything is plugged in and working before they leave though. When they did our installation they forgot to plug in one area of the roof and we kind of missed out on a couple of weeks of energy.

My experience with them has been very positive. I had it installed in my previous house, I had just decided to try it then and everything worked very well. The installation was good and it saved me a lot of money. So, when we moved to another house, I just looked them up again and had it all installed. Their price was still reasonable and they did a good job putting things up. They were very efficient and did what they said they would do.

I had a young man come by and talk to me about solar. At that time California had a thing where, if you put solar on your house, they would re-evaluate your house. I told him to bring that to me in writing to make sure it was all true, he did, and I went ahead and put the solar system on. He was a very good and knowledgeable young man. The installation people were very good. They told me what was going on and did things right on schedule. After that they gave me a website that I can go to to check how much energy my system is generating on a daily basis.

My home has been so comfortable for me, with SunRun solar panels mount over my roof. My home appliances are alway running have an energy provider that suits their performance. Just like the name implies, SunRun keeps home appliances running.

Like: Sunrun's reporting capabilities so we can see how we are doing. Dislike: Sunrun's customer service help process is cumbersome and it was hard to understand some of the representatives because English was not their primary language. Also, we needed technical support and it took months to resolve.

I had a great experience overall; everything seemed to work smoothly. However, I was surprised to still receive an electric bill after the sales, which is a bit disappointing. It's close to what I expected, but I thought I wouldn't have any bills at all. Overall, I'm satisfied but with some reservations.

I had some initial frustrations with the solar system, feeling like no one was coming to help. However, a technician did come out and addressed a few issues, ensuring everything was working correctly. Overall, the system has been trouble-free since then, so I’m satisfied with the resolution.
