We had plans to leave our house for 18 months and rent it out. We did not want to worry about the appliances. First American Home Warranty had good reviews and we decided to use them. We have had one claim so far. They contacted us quickly, set up the appointment, and the problem was quickly resolved. We are very happy with the service! Thank you for removing the appliance worry!

There is no other home warranty company to choose from at all the closings on real estate , so we chose to accept it , which was First American , and someone from choice home warranty called and gave us a cheaper price when it was time to renew, WELL LETS JUST SAY IT WAS THE WORST MISTAKE WE EVER MADE is changing from First American!!!!! I know someone who worked for them and he was a witness to the company only requiring the owner of the company to be licensed , not the workers that come to your home…. We had a tech who came to our house to fix a fan in our double oven , which was making allot of noise , after he was done,he sent another tech to “finish the job”, he was worse than the first , then another one came and the owner, but after it was all over with , my double oven would no longer work, it stayed on even when cut off, increasing in temperature , we had to cut it off at the breaker , and nobody from the company would come back, we were in the middle of selling the home, so we had to put out 2500 for new owner to purchase a new double oven after closing, Choice home warranty would not hold the owner of this company liable , and no matter what we did and tried to call multiple times to Choice, they said they had to go by what tech says, and tech says it was fixed!!!!!! The techs did not know what they were doing because they were not certificed or licensed to even know how to work on appliaces . NEVER AGAIN will we switch from First American Home Warranty. WE APPRECIATE a company like First AMERICAN , that all closing attorneys stand by and HIGHLY recommend.

First American Home Warrant is great. One complant. When the appliance is fix and them there is a problem you should bring the same company that fix is in the past. I am having trouble with my heater which you paid to install last year. I went to your website and reported a problem and you did not bring out the same company that installed it.

Our home's previous owner left us the warranty and I renewed it. We have had 2 services and both were with our air conditioning. Pleased with the handling of both as well as the contractor. What I was not please with is the fact that we had to pay several thousand of our own money when the new air conditioning unit was installed. These fees were "upgrades" from original unit. I would like FAHW to note this fees boldly so customers can see them and not be surprised. Otherwise, pleased with the warranty

Adequate company and service. There are Pros and Cons with any warranty service. You can get repairs done for a fraction of out of pocket expenses---BUT, you may have to deal with longer appointment schedule times--and warranty services will always utilize the cheapest repair/service options first, before progressing to more costly or complex repair options. If you, for example, need a new A.C., replacing it with a new unit will be the companies LAST OPTION---only after trying every other repair option to an older unit and having these options fail. In the long term, you will save (out of pocket expenses), but you have to deal with longer tedious repair schedules and the warranty companies money saving bureaucracies. Or you can bypass a warranty company, contract a serviceman yourself--pay 100% out of pocket, but get faster more efficient service. Just depends on what you're personally willing to compromise on. I have low to medium income, so although a warranty service can have tedious and frustrating aspects...it still turned out to be a better option for me (security of out of pocket costs being a fraction of what they would cost without a warranty), vs having a major appliance bill repair that you have to cover 100% of parts and labor.

My A/C went out on a Thursday in July. The first appointment offered by the vendor was on the following Tuesday, but then said they could come out on Sunday if I paid an extra $125 above the warranty's service fee. According to my neighbors I could have had another company come out the same day in an emergency, so it didn't seem like having a home warranty really helped that much. I was still out $225 for the service which ended up being a simple fix.

Whenever I did speak with someone, they were able to help me right away, or at least gave me the assurance that they were "working on it." I've had to call them back several times to get updates. Often would get a different person telling me different things. We never received confirmation emails or phone calls on the status of anything, not sure if this is a technical glitch, so make sure they can and will email you receipts and status updates. I'd log into my account and would sometimes find updates on information but there is no history in what happened, so I highly recommend you keep your own records of things!

They've been excellent. I've had them with my house now for almost thirty years. They're there to help and get solutions to whatever is going on. There have been several times that they've actually thought about the response I was given from a vendor and it wasn't right and they questioned it and go second opinions to make sure they were right. They do their research. They don't assume that their vendor is always right. I had a plumbing leak and they took care of it. It was incredible. I had some complications from the vendor and issues and modification charges. They did all the research necessary to get it resolved properly and now the job is done. I'm very happy. First American makes sure you're satisfied when you're done. I've had a couple managers involved because there were things that didn't make sense and the actual sales person couldn't match it so they connected me to a manager that could answer my question and give me good, sufficient answers.

When we bought our dream home and the deal was ''' as is'', we planned on needing to make some repairs and find a few surprises so we asked for First American Home Warranty coverage with our contract. Wow, did we underestimate the things that would go wrong with this little place. In the first three years, nearly every major appliance has gone out as well as fans, plumbing, both toilets, and I can''t even remember what else. First American has not refused us? Dropped up, questioned us or anything, they have helped us quickly and politely with every single claim. We would have been lost and financially ruined if we had not had this policy.

When my A/C broke down with First American, they fixed it right away and everything and it's running great. There was one little problem though. When the guy replaced the parts up in the attic, they didn't replace the board. I'm happy with the company, it was the vendor's fault. They sent an email and said it needed to get replaced and First American acted right away and put the part on order. I get great service. They're very professional and they come out right away and service and take care of things. It works really fast. I wouldn't change the company. I had another company and when I saw your company and found out what they cover, I was ecstatic and I've been happy every since. They react really fast.

I really like the experience of working with them and not having to deal with the companies that you get your appliances from. This particular time they gave a time in which the company could come and service that item and I had problems with that time and I worked with First American Warranty and let them know and within forty eight hours they called and got me within forty hours of the call. I had problems with my dryer and I thought they would be able to repair it and go from there. The technician came out and serviced the dryer and told me what was wrong with it and then left. After I tried to use the dryer after he left, it wouldn't work. And I called them back and I got aggravated with the time it took for them to come out and reservice it. And it ended up costing me another $75 and I didn't know I was going to have to pay for that because it wasn't part of the actual dryer. First American was great, it was the company that came out of my house that I wasn't excited about.

Having an older house makes having a home warranty a must. I don't know how we would have paid for some of the repairs that we've needed over the years if they hadn't been covered. We have peace of mind knowing that we are protected from catastrophic damage and repairs. Well worth the investment. Occasionally we have to call more than once to get a technician scheduled, but that is really a problem with individual companies and not the fault of First American. Customer service has been wonderful. I don't think we could live in our house without them. We were not solicited for our business. I researched the best coverage and called them. No phone calls or emails asking us to increase coverage or buy other products. We truly could not be happier.

I wanted to share my disappointment regarding a recent service request that was denied. I appreciate that the customer service representative I spoke with was very kind and tried to help. However, despite their efforts, the request to repair our stovetop igniter was denied based on the report, which labeled the issue as "normal wear and tear."
It’s frustrating that something as basic and common as a failed igniter — the kind of problem I would expect to be covered — was dismissed without any meaningful investigation. The explanation we received for the denial was confusing and felt more like an attempt to justify not providing service, rather than actually addressing the issue.
I seriously question the reliability of this insurance. If the policy doesn’t cover such a routine and straightforward repair, it’s hard to understand the real value of having the coverage at all. As a customer, I am disappointed and feel like I’ve been paying into a service that doesn’t deliver when it counts.

They are on the bottom of my list! Had a fridge that stopped dispensing water or making ice only freezer would get cold? Took like a week to send someone out knowing my fridge wasn't getting cold Luckily zi had a small little fridge in garage. The maintenance guy came out ordered a new counter box yook 3 weeks to get it. Came installed but didn't help.so he sent request to get new fridge. I waited and waited finally I called warranty co. The guy motive cm my v ice maker was c I veted bu my plan so had me pay 157.00 for coverage. Sent another guy out to fix that. But did not work. So I called warranty co about new fridge. And asked for myc157.09 coverage back they couldn't fix. And a new fridge. Months go by they send me 250.00 for new fridge. After many many phone calls I give up! Cancel that warranty. Get a new fridge guy comes to hook it up and no water again cause it's not the fridge but outside water pipe is broken? So now my old fridge that works fine is in the garage as a spare. So no first american is bad bad bad. Cheap cheap

Overall the service I receive when I submit a claim has been adequate. The contractors they have sent were courteous and professional in every way and solved our appliance issues expeditiously and efficiently. I am completely satisfied with the customer service I receive and the quality of the contractors work.

First American Home Warranty was able to repair my Microwave (Broken handle). I guess the microwave was too old to find a new handle so they purchased a new microwave for me. It was great replacement. Thank you First American Home Warranty
