I've used them quite a bit lately and right now I am in the process of using it for some plumbing and I've had to call several times because they're having trouble getting back. It's not perfect, but it works.

The first year I owned my home, they were very good about helping me out and so I renewed it for a the second year. Every time I call, everyone seems very polite and helpful however I don't necessarily feel like my issue gets solved or they have the best people taking care of the issue. I was having plumbing issues and they sent a total of three plumbers out to the house. The first two I found out had no idea what they were talking about and so one of my bathrooms has been in shambles since then until I had a third plumber who knew what he was talking about and we found out that they were all easy fixes so I'm wondering why it took seven months without hot water. I don't feel like they send the most professional contractors out to the house.

So far they've been responsive to my needs. Other companies have not been as responsive. I recently had a problem with my water heater and they weren't able to find a plumber in my area so they helped me select my own plumber. I would be happier if they had more vendors in my area.

My experience with First American is satisfactory, I feel like it saves us month and it is comparable to an appraisal from a general contractor or specialist. The work done on our home has been good but it is hard to find background information about them and where they are coming from. I have had an issue with the customer service, the last two claim took almost a week for someone to get scheduled.

There were some issues with our air conditioner and it took a while to get things going and I didn't feel like the support was there. Once we do get the jobs going, things have been taken care of. I think they need to be a little more careful with the contactors they use, some are really good but some have been really bad.

They've done a pretty good job. I have had a couple of instances where I've used it for the pool and spa. We called First American to come and check it out and they sent a contractor over. The first time I wasn't very happy because the contractor didn't return the call within three days and it was an emergency as far as I was concerned. The hot water heater went out on one but the other two times have been good.

There was somebody to talk to you about a problem with the exception of after hours. First American gave me a name of a guy and they were supposed to contact me. When they didn't contact me I went ahead and called them and made arrangements for them to come out.

Hi I had a company come out to check our a/c unit and said they found a few things going on with it . Then I called up our home warranty on it then they told me they would have to send out one of the companies under the warranty to check it out also and I didn't have a problem with that and the company on there hand said everything looked to be ok just maybe the freon may be a little low but now makes me wonder about other repair companies about their honesty and who to believe . So now I'm wondering is there really something going on with my a/c unit or not just don't want to be left without it if it fails this summer. 🤔

I would not have any other home warranty but, First American!!!! They expedite service as quickly as possible. I have lived in my home since 2003 I've been a single mom until 2009 when I remarried after 12 years. Now I am a widow since 2019 My husband and I owned a handyman remodeling company. If something needed to be repaired and he could fix it he would. However, in 2020 my Dishwasher, Hot water heater, Garbage disposal, washing machine, and central heat went out. My central heat was fixed but, everything else was replaced. Needless to say, I am still grieving the loss of my husband and in 2020 I was overwhelmed and found myself just crying out Lord what else can happen? I called First American and they said not to worry they would take care of everything. I live in a 3 bedroom 2 bath brick home in a quiet subdivision. Trust me when I say if you own a home I highly recommend First American home warranty. Yes, you pay for it monthly, and if you don't need anything fixed that's great, however, I would rather pay a monthly 62.50 than have to pay 1000. for a hot water heater plus labor for a plumber etc... Just remember if you have more than 1 refrigerator let them know so, it will be covered as well. Everything I have is covered under my warranty. Right down to ceiling fans and garage door opener.

I have to admit that when it came time for us to renew our Home Warranty with First American, I wondered if it would be worth it. We had a small plumbing issue, a toilet that wouldn't stop running, and I couldn't figure out why. First American offers several ways to get in touch to request assistance, so I chose to contact them online. First American responded promptly and reassuringly, double checking first to make sure that it wasn't an emergency (it wasn't) before routing it to an appropriate vendor. The vendor was a little slow to get back to us, but once they did, they were a model of efficiency. My only complaint was that the scheduler/receptionist for the plumber was very abrupt, almost unfriendly, but she was efficient. The plumber who came out was very prompt as well as friendly, and willing to take the time to explain what exactly was wrong and what he was doing to fix it (the fill pump assembly was stuck open and needed replacing). He took the time to ask if there was anything else that needed fixing (not at that moment) since there was time left on the service call. It was a very positive experience, and well worth the money.

I was quite nervous after reading all the negative reviews, but my experience was terrific!! I called FAHW on Thursday, and they set up an appointment for Monday 7am-12pm with a Sears technician. I got a call at 705am on Monday that my technician was on his way. Chris from Sears arrived at 715am. He immediately diagnosed the problem, and had the part on his truck. He was able to fix my washer in about 10 minutes! I was amazed that it was fixed so quickly and easily. I realize that I may just be one of the lucky ones, but I’m hoping FAHW is trying to improve their customer service because of all these bad reviews. Good job Chris and FAHW!

down and started leaking water. Upon realizing this we dialed first america to file a claim. They assigned us a specialist technician and sent him to check our water heater. The technician arrives and only checks from the garage, he never enters the house. The next day the technician gave an estimate of approximately 500 dollars for modifications to the installation of the new water heater. Upon receiving this information we called First America and I told them to appoint another technician because the other one, since he arrived, saw the opportunity to do business with supposed modifications for the installation of the new water heater, which were correct and not modification was necessary. They told me that they could not assign another technician as that was the assigned technician. I told him that I was not comfortable with the technician that we felt that he saw the Opportunity to get some extra money, since we only wanted to repair the boiler which he didn't even check, there was no reason to make modifications. Then I ask them to change the technician and they tell me no, that that was my assigned contractor and that there was no way to change it and they tell me that there are two ways: or two options: One option is: we hire our own contractor with a license and invoice and registration and send them the invoice and they will send us a part of the invoice that we pay. And when everything is done they occupied that invoice To cover the new equipment in the future under the same policy. The other option was for them to They sent a check with what First America pays for that repair. And I told them that allows me to consult it With my husband and let him make the decision. During this process the days passed until reaching two weeks without water Heater. I called them back and I explain again and I tell them again that I am still struggling and they still did not solve me the problem with the water heater and insisted that I had to pay the technician the money for the Modifications or grab a cashier's check for what they paid for that repair. Because of the failure with the water heater, we had no shower on the top tier, no washing machine, no dishwasher. After all this stress generated I spoke to them again and they told me to hire my own technician. And what Send the invoice and let me They will pay part of the bill, not the 100 Percent but Probable more than Half. That's what I did, that same day they told me that, I spoke to the Company that originally installed the boiler and they immediately came, inspected and changed the water heater without any modifications to the house. Charging me 550 for the unit change, which had an active warranty with the factory. And from which I later found out that the First America technician had already done the process to make the unit change and I found out through a First America agent. As I followed the Instruction, I sent the invoice and in exchange I received a check for a fabulous 40 dollars. They call me and tell me that they closed my case, that since I did not agree to pay the technician for the modifications that he wanted to make because he did not need them, they took the Cashier check option to finalize and conclude my case. So obviously I was upset when I received the check for 40 dollars and I complained to them about what one of their employees said that they would pay me more than half the amount. It cost and this turned out, and they told me that everything had been done under contract that I should have read the smaller letters in the contract and that if the equipment has a warranty from the manufacturer, First America does not cover it. Although the seller of My house opted to get a premium warranty with first American being the most complete package they have. Then I answer the Woman who answered my call and I then told her that the First America warranty does not work for me, because in my new house I installed all new appliances and that I wanted to cancel the warranty and get my money back. What were they paid to grab? a new warranty for home. And she tells me that they cannot return 100 percent that I have to pay a penalty for canceling and I told her three weeks ago we bought the house, not even a month has passed and I already have problems with you And that the penalty that I They charged for filing a claim and not for canceling the contract and I told them that I was canceling because they did not comply with the service. After 4 years of being clients in various houses. And she said that she was sorry that there was a claim and that she was going to charge me the penalty and collect the money for monthly payments for canceling. I have not been very complimentary for i have not received any official word from First American staff. The mishandled my email and i cannot access my email. All my correspondence has been through the contractor. I don't think that is a good business practice.
