Freedom Debt Relief, a subsidiary of Freedom Financial Network, has resolved billions in consumer debt since its founding in 2002.

The company has considerable industry experience and high client satisfaction ratings.

With all the major industry accreditations, Freedom Debt Relief (FDR) is a great option for many consumers. Its minimum debt requirement is $7,500. Freedom Debt Relief accepts clients dealing with financial hardship that meet this threshold and clients that can make regular program payments to an account to fund settlements. Freedom Debt Relief employs professional debt experts to negotiate and settle debt for those suffering financial hardship.

FDR offers a debt settlement program that involves negotiating with creditors to lower total debt owed and is available in 32 states. It does not, however, offer debt management plans or credit counseling for those not interested in debt settlement, as Freedom Debt Relief is a debt settlement company.

On average, Freedom Debt Relief charges 24 percent of your total enrolled debt, which means the cost varies depending on your financial situation. To settle an account enrolled at $5,000, it will cost around $1,200.

The Good

  • Excellent Settlement Program and Debt Relief Services
  • Experience and Accreditations
  • Great Freedom Debt Relief Reviews
  • Online Dashboard
  • No Fees Charged Until After a Settlement Is Authorized and First Payment Has Been Made

Excellent Settlement Program and Debt Relief Services

As a leading debt settlement company, Freedom Debt Relief has several great advantages to its debt settlement services, including

  • Low minimum of $7,500 in unsecured debt to begin debt settlement
  • Costs between 18.25 and 25 percent of the total enrolled unsecured debt
  • Free consultation with a Certified Debt Consultant

Freedom Debt Relief offers a free consultation with a highly trained, IAPDA-certified debt consultant when a consumer decides to enlist the company's debt settlement services.

Experience and Accreditations

As an accredited debt relief company, Freedom Debt Relief has over 20 years of experience in the debt settlement industry. It has settled over four million accounts since its founding and settles $16 billion in debt.

Freedom Debt Relief has years of experience working with creditors on behalf of the client, the creditor, and the client. FDR will work to obtain settlements that resolve credit card debt (or any type of unsecured debt, such as personal loan debt or medical debt).

FDR will walk clients through the debt settlement process: first, customers will voluntarily choose to stop making monthly payments to lenders. Instead, clients will elect to make a monthly deposit into a separate special purpose account to save money to pay for the settlements once negotiated. Freedom Debt Relief will then work to negotiate a settlement on behalf of its clients.

Unfortunately, this settlement process will affect your credit score. If you miss any minimum payments on your credit card or other debt, this will decrease your credit score. It's smart to have a plan for boosting your credit score before you start the debt settlement process.

Great Freedom Debt Relief Reviews

Most Freedom Debt reviews on Best Company are positive. People commend FDR for having good customer service, explaining debt settlement, and keeping them updated on where they are at in the debt settlement program.

Clients drowning in high amounts of unsecured debt (credit card debt, personal loans, medical debt, student loan debt) usually find that the company can save them from paying a large percentage of what they owe.

Despite the debt settlement program's tendency to negatively affect credit scores in the first six months, clients with mountains of credit card debt find it extremely helpful for debt reduction. It's also important for people to know that forgiven debt is considered taxable income, so you may owe more in taxes when using debt settlement services.

Online Dashboard

One feature that sets FDR apart from the rest is a unique and intuitive online dashboard to track clients' pace throughout the program. This helps people to actually see their progress while settling their debts. It also offers education to help clients improve their financial knowledge.

Not many debt settlement companies in the industry offer this tool as part of their packages.

No Fees Charged Until After a Settlement Is Settled and First Payment Hast Been Made

As opposed to a debt consolidation company which consolidates all of a customer's debt into one consolidation loan and one monthly payment, debtors approach Freedom Debt Relief as a last resort in order to negotiate their debt and relieve their burden.

Freedom Debt Relief doesn't charge an upfront fee or any other fees until after debt is settled with creditors, the settlement has been authorized with the client, and the first payment has been made. This practice is standard for the industry. Debt relief companies, like National Debt Relief and Pacific Debt, also do not have upfront fees.

Upon enrollment, customers will open an FDIC-insured bank account that the client controls. Clients will put the monthly deposit that was agreed upon into this bank account instead. This is the main reason why this program hurts your credit score more than debt consolidation.

Next, FDR's representatives will negotiate with your creditors to settle your debt.

Freedom Debt Relief makes money by charging fees on the enrolled debt amount. Its average fees are a bit high (around 24 percent fees on enrolled debt), but its services are thorough.

The company's ability to help clients find an easier road to financial freedom and paying off debt is highly valuable.

The Bad

  • Freedom Debt Relief Cost
  • Limited Availability
  • Limited Services
  • Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Lawsuit

Freedom Debt Relief Cost

To settle an account enrolled at $5,000, it will cost around $1,200 (or about 24 percent of the enrolled debt).

Users are charged an average of 24 percent of their total enrolled debt to use FDR. While this number is in line with their competitors, it is only an average. Customers could end up paying more or less than this to use FDR. FDR’s prices range between 18.25 and 25 percent. The rates vary depending on the state the client lives in.

Current national debt relief trends indicate that debt settlement companies tend to charge a percentage of enrolled debt as opposed to saved debt. This means that the more total debt you have, the more debt settlement companies will charge you.

Although working with a debt settlement firm still could save you from paying thousands of dollars to creditors, it's better to work with companies that charge a percentage of saved debt rather than enrolled debt.

So exactly how much will Freedom Debt Relief cost you? It will cost you around 23 percent of your total enrolled debt, but you will have to have a consultation to get an accurate estimate. The fee is competitive for the industry. The fee is assessed when a successful settlement has been authorized and the first payment has been made.

However, Freedom Debt Relief’s services are high quality and could make it easier to make your way to living debt-free.

Limited Availability

Freedom Debt Relief offers debt settlement programs in only 32 states. If Freedom Debt Relief does not offer its debt relief program in your state, you'll have to consider other debt settlement companies.

Most debt settlement companies have a minimum debt requirement to ensure a payout. A debt settlement company that charges by saved debt will not run into this problem as much.

Freedom Debt Relief requires a minimum debt amount of $7,500 (the amount of which is charged fees between 18.25 and 25 percent). While this threshold is low compared to other debt settlement companies, it does rule out people struggling with lower debt amounts.

An additional limitation with Freedom Debt Relief is that the company only works with debtors with unsecured debt. Freedom Debt Relief is not an option for those struggling with secured debt. The difference between unsecured and secured debt is that unsecured debt is not backed by assets or collateral, while secured debt is.

Limited Services

Some debt relief agencies provide services outside of debt settlement, such as credit counseling, advocating for a lower interest rate on your debt, or debt management plans. However, Freedom Debt Relief does not offer these services.

As such, if you choose to go with Freedom Debt Relief to help you work toward resolving your debt, be aware that you will be signing up for a debt settlement program, and may still receive calls from a debt collector or face the risk of a negative impact on your credit score.

Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Lawsuit

In 2019, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and Freedom Debt Relief reached an agreement that FDR would do the following:

  • Make it clear that in some cases, FDR may not be able to negotiate a debt if the creditor is unwilling to negotiate
  • Let consumers know that, in some cases, the creditor will only negotiate if the client is also directly involved in the negotiations, and that the consumer has the right to refuse to participate in the negotiations and can remove the debt from their program without penalty
  • Make it clearer to consumers under what circumstances they will be charged a fee
  • Stop charging fees on all accounts where the settlement amount was not reduced, or where the creditor wrote off the debt on their own
  • Make it clearer to consumers that, if they end their program early, any money left in their program savings account belongs to them, minus any funds earned by the company according to legal statutes
  • Pay restitution money to injured consumers
  • Pay a civil penalty

It's a good idea for potential clients to do some research on the process, consumers' rights, and industry standards for settlement companies before setting up a free consultation with a debt settlement service. It's also recommended to read recent customer reviews to get a better sense of Freedom Debt Relief's commitment to clients and how good its settlement services are.

gavel

The Bottom Line

Freedom Debt Relief offers several outstanding features for anyone looking to settle their debts: all major industry accreditations, ample debt settlement experience, thoughtful and experienced debt consultants, negotiation with each creditor, and more. The company's 18.25 to 25 percent fees are pretty standard in comparison to other debt settlement companies (like National Debt Relief).

If you choose a debt settlement plan to resolve your debts, the debts you settle are marked as "settled" on your credit report. While there are some risks to debt settlement, this process allows you to settle debts. It's not bankruptcy and it could get you on the path to becoming debt free.

While people interested in other debt resolution methods, like credit counseling, a debt management plan, or debt consolidation loan will need to consider other companies, Freedom Debt Relief is a good option for those seeking a debt settlement program.

FDR's debt negotiation experience is worth the money. Freedom Debt Relief customer reviews relate that the company has saved them thousands of dollars by negotiating with their creditors. If you're looking to settle your debt through debt negotiation and a reliable debt relief program, we highly recommend using Freedom Debt Relief if you receive a reasonable quote from the company during your free consultation.

Freedom Debt Relief Frequently Asked Questions

What is Freedom Debt Relief?

Freedom Debt Relief is a debt settlement company. The company offers a debt settlement program that helps you get rid of debt faster and for less when compared to making minimum payments. With over 19 years of experience working to reduce its clients’ debt, Freedom Debt Relief has resolved over $10 billion in debt since 2002.

How does the Freedom Debt Relief program work?

After signing up for Freedom Debt Relief, you make monthly deposits into an FDIC-insured bank account that you own and control. Once enough money has built up into this account, negotiations occur towards resolving each of your debts one by one. Once a settlement offer is obtained, Freedom Debt Relief presents the offer for you to authorize. If you agree to the terms, the funds in your FDIC-insured account are used to pay the creditor. This is also when Freedom Debt Relief collects its fee. Once the creditor has been paid according to the settlement agreement, the remainder of the debt is written off. This process is repeated with all of your debts until you no longer owe anything on your enrolled debts.

How does Freedom Debt Relief affect your credit?

Freedom Debt Relief could negatively impact your credit as your creditors are not being paid every month. As such, the company will report your missed payments to the credit bureaus, which negatively impacts your score. If you are already behind on payments, however, your credit is already negatively affected, so you should take that into consideration.

How much does Freedom Debt Relief cost?

Freedom Debt Relief's fee ranges from 18.25%-25% of the debt, depending on the state you live in, how much you owe, and other factors. Under no circumstances, however, will you pay the company the fee in advance of a settlement on a debt.

What kind of debt does Freedom Debt Relief work with?

Debt from credit cards, medical bills, department store cards, and many other types of unsecured debt could be eligible for Freedom Debt Relief. However, secured debt that involves collateral, including auto loans, mortgages, and federal student loans, are not eligible.

What happens if a creditor tries to sue me during settlement?

Since you’ve stopped making payments to your creditors, there’s a chance that they may sue you in an attempt to collect what you owe them. Freedom Debt Relief works with a network of lawyers it makes available to help qualifying clients in these situations — at no additional cost.

Is forgiven debt taxable?

According to the IRS, a forgiven debt is considered taxable income. At the end of the year, they will expect taxes to be paid on any settled debt. However, IRS Form 982, Reduction of Tax Attributes Due to Discharge of Indebtedness, may exempt you from this tax. To learn how forgiven debt could affect your taxes, talk to a tax professional.

I'm still new to the program. Although the final outcome will be what I expect, I don't like the repeated phone calls from the creditors at the start and realizing that the only way to speed up my negotiations is to add more money to my account.

Ongoing communication concerning debts in negotiation process is lacking. I really don't know what is happening with the negotiations. The fees for getting a settlement are never disclosed (just indicates a percentage). My first settlement was just approved and the I feel the fee is outrageous. Just about 50% of my settlement. With fees this high being paid from my dedicated account. it pulls the funds away from my creditors. If I'd have known the fees would be so high, I probably wouldn't be using the service. I would have tried to negotiate with my creditors on my own first. Also, after uploading my documents (statements, legal letters, etc.) there is no communication at all - I don't know if the upload was successful, I don't know if the threatening letters and specifically the letter indicating there has been a lien put on my home(!) was received and if this would change the order of the debt negotiations. However, anytime I've needed to contact customer service, they have been exceptional.

Beth Bedekovich, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand your concerns around communication and fee transparency. Our program fees are based on enrolled debt and are discussed during enrollment, but we’re happy to walk through the details with you anytime.

For uploaded documents, we do ask that clients call in to notify us once documents are submitted, especially if they involve time-sensitive matters. This helps ensure they’re reviewed promptly.

Kinyata ..

I would not recommend debt relief to anyone. This review is not directly against freedom, possibly all debt relief programs work this way, however going in I was not behind on any payments. I was lead to believe when I was given my orginal quote my savings was based on what I currently owed, however in order for them to help Out I had to stop paying all bills and the late/non payments fees kept piling up which increased my debt from what I originally listed, so when credit card companies settle it’s based on a way higher amount than what you went into the program with, and while it may end up being close to 50% of what you “CURRENTLY “ owe , it’s not much more than what you originally owed. If I knew this information going in, I would have never went with this program or any other and would not recommend to anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, Kinyata,
Keep in mind that our settlement fees are bigger savings than having to pay your creditors the full 100% of the debt owed + interest + any additional fees they charge. Yes, your creditor may have presented a lower settlement amount, but that is just to pull you back in so they can collect more. Our settlements are secure and lead you toward financial freedom. Please reach out to our Client Services department at (800) 655-6303 if you have any questions.

It seems to be taking a while to get a settlement. I started this plan with Freedom back in February and I could only see 1 settlement and 1 negotiation. Maybe I don't understand the process. I haven't talked to anyone at Freedom for I believe a month.

HI Rozella, It’s completely understandable to feel uncertain or frustrated if progress seems slow—especially when you're trusting a service to help you out of a difficult financial situation. Settlements can sometimes take a few months to negotiate depending on the creditor, the debt amount, and how much has built up in your dedicated account. An account specialist will be reaching out to address your concerns.

The process was easy for the program itself. But dealing with the people that you owe is hard. FDR. should warn the people that enroll in the program of all the actions the debtor use. Not just putting stop payments on them is enough. I had to change my account numbers also. My debtor made a fake check as if I wrote it and tried to deposit as a withdrawal on my account. Thank you well Fargo. For the notification. To stop payment. You do save money, but there is stress evolve. So just let the customer that use the program of everything. So stop payments doesn't work. You literally have to change everything.

Freedom Debt Relief is best approached with a “trust the process” mindset. As a debt consolidation company, they offer a structured path toward financial relief, but it’s important to understand that the journey is neither quick nor easy. The process itself is intentionally slow, and for good reason — negotiations with creditors cannot begin until sufficient funds have accumulated in your dedicated account. This means that progress is directly tied to your ability to consistently contribute to that account, which can be frustrating for those expecting immediate results. One of the most challenging aspects of the program is the period before settlements begin. During this time, communication from creditors — including phone calls, emails, and physical mail — can be relentless. This phase is not for the faint of heart, and it requires a strong commitment to the end goal. It’s also worth noting that your credit score will take a significant hit. In my case, my score dropped from 690 in January to 460 by May. This is a common and expected consequence of the process, but it can still be difficult to watch unfold. Ultimately, Freedom Debt Relief may be a viable option for those who are fully informed, financially prepared, and emotionally resilient. It’s essential to weigh the risks against the potential long-term benefits and to enter the program with realistic expectations. Debt consolidation is not a one-size-fits-all solution, and anyone considering it should take the time to evaluate whether the structure and timeline align with their personal financial goals.

I was in the program for 4 yrs and then was offered a loan, with the Consolidated Loan part of the company and totally was misunderstanding the loan officer because of previous talks I had with him and told him that I could not pay more than I'm paying now, and that I pd that amount in two payments so when I went through the contract the amount of my monthly payment was the amount was less than my current amount I had been paying freedom debt and so I thought the amounts was listed as being taken out bimonthly I understood that at that figure would be divided in half because that's how I had discussed it ,, but when it came to start paying the loan payments my payment was double the amount I had been paying and now at the age of 78 I am worse of financially than I have ever been in my life, it's devastating. The loan officer never came out and said this amount will be a total of the number shown.. it did give numbers listed that were options, but I understood by monthly as the $371 was to be divided into two payments instead of a total of $742 as a payment.. now I cannot pay that payment and they will not work with me..

I cannot rate this until they actually give me back my overage and provide the graduation package they've promised me for nearly 2 months now. I've had to call them four times since I completed the program and they have not only misdirected me on the first three calls, but did not follow through in getting the graduation packet to me. The fourth call I am hoping is successful and I should finallyseethe overage back in my back account to the tune of $700+. Very frustrating having to follow up so many times to keep demanding what they should have already taken care of. Please note that Gail a customer service agent gets 5 stars from me. The previous three agents get 1 star from me.

My experience has been pretty good. What I didn't know in the beginning was how long it would take to start a resolution. I also learned that the same settlements were offered to me directly from the creditor so I wouldn't not of had to pay all these fees which are factored into the settlements between Freedom and the creditor. Also, there was one account that they marked as settled but I continued to get calls from the collectors about daily. When I called Freedom about this issue they didn't even know that the account was still outstanding because they marked it as settled. I am still trying to figure out where my 2 payments to this creditor went.

We apologize, Ms. Lonati, if the proper expectations were not set for you. Making sure we educate our clients regarding what to expect when enrolled with us is top priority. Also, the creditor may have offered settlement options to you. However, please know that our negotiators resolve nearly 44,000 creditor accounts each month. Negotiating with hundreds of creditors over the past 16 years gives us a huge leverage in being able to obtain the best settlements possible for all of our clients. You made mention of an account that we show as resolved, but the creditor is still attempting to collect on the remaining balance. We are very sorry to hear you are dealing with this situation. One of our team members will be reaching out to you shortly using the contact information we have on file. We certainly want to make sure that us and the creditor are on the same page when it comes to the balance. Thank you for honest feedback.

They are not upfront with you in regards to who will negotiate with them. They know that Discovercard and Walmart will not bend . Yet they tell you that they can. They also convince you to add their Lawyer group in case you have a court problem, I did, and after court representation I was right back at the beginning with Discover card, no help at all plus had to pay extra filing cast to go to court. card. They will tell you that can not negotiate with your creditors, but you can and you can withdraw them from your account. I am close to finishing the program, got a little money and asked if I could pay off the smaller of the two accounts left. Was told no, but i could pay the extra money into my standing account ( not sure if this is name)and the money would remain there until the near the end of my term and then only would it be used to pay off the remaining account. This goes for for any extra money you pay over your monthly payment Last but not least, since now I am close to the end I am being solicited to take out a loan to pay off the remainder by a sister company!! Why now. I just don't think they are upfront. that is all, ask the questions and take notes, or record. Ron

Satisfied for the most part. There is an account that has been paid off for several months, but still shows in process. It was paid off in three payments. I have contacted FDR 4-5 times to inquire why this account is not showing paid off. Each time I am told it is being escalated, but nothing changes. I'm not given any further information, but the account status does not change. Very frustrating not to see progress. The only thing that has changed is that it shows 2/2 payments made. Don't know why this was changed because I am certain THREE payments were made. I've stopped inquiring because I am given no information. Even have sensed an attitude when I try to get answers. It is not easy going thru this process and feel I am just a number with FDR rather than a person.

They can always answer my questions and are always willing to help. Though I don't think they do things very well. I think that they could pay some of the debt I have a little bit faster than what they are doing, but I don't understand how it all works. Right now it's still looking like I still have quite a lot of debt. I assumed that they would take care of the two major ones first, but I have not had anything paid or taken care of yet, so I'm a little bit nervous. I also don't know how much it's going to cost me. I don't think it's going to cost as much as the debt I have, but I'm still worried about it.

Anytime I had a question they were ready to answer and would walk me through the whole thing. They also made sure that I took my time to think before making a final decision on things. They always wanted to make sure that I knew what was happening and that I understood the situation. Everything that gets done is put up in the dashboard so I can look at it. They also send me messages when they need me to look at things there. There were a couple of times when I had to call them because I hadn't heard back from them in a while. I'm in the middle of things right now and I feel okay so far. I'm down to the end of my program but I'm a bit concerned about the last debt. It's taking longer than anticipated and I feel like they're not being aggressive enough with it. It's dragging and it's obvious. I totally trust them though.

It’s still too soon to give a full review, as I just started the process. That said, I do have some concerns. The account balances they quoted me were lower than the actual amounts, and some accounts with large balances weren’t included at all. I reached out to my representative for clarification, but I didn’t receive a clear answer to my questions. I’m choosing to trust the process for now and hope everything will be resolved as we move forward. I’ll reserve final judgment until I see how things progress. — New Customer

I'm confident we'll be able to work through this tough financial time and we do appreciate the work that Freedom Debt Relief is doing, we weren't warned about the cards that we kept would be lowering all of our credit limits and out right canceling our cards. We were under the impression that the cards we kept and continue to pay would be some safety blanket if money got tight. Even though we continue to pay them down and on time, because we stopped paying the cards that Freedom took over, we're losing credit that we might need later on.

I could not get a straight answer the majority of times I emailed questions. Additionally, their fees are too high. In hindsight I should have negotiated my own settlements and saved thousands of dollars. In the end, they did not save me that much. You go in to the process thinking you’re going to cut your debt by 50%. That is not the case with their fees. The timeline I agreed to with a set monthly amount will not be met. This is extremely disappointing. Could it be due their fees? I have multiple lessons learned from this process. Overall I can’t recommend them to anyone.

Hi Sandra, it is important to remember that you are saving on your overall debt and your debt is completely separate from our settlement fee. Our fee is payment for the service we are providing and the settlement is what you pay to satisfy your debt with a creditor, at a lower rate. We would like the opportunity to discuss in detail, the questions that you have about your program, unfortunately we are unable to reach you based off of the information provided by this review. Due to the amount of time it took and interest and fees being accrued with creditors and fees charged by FDR, even after the "50%" reduced debt I ended up paying the same amount I would've just paid to the creditors. And my credit score didn't benefit in any way. In short I could have just closed the accounts and paid off the balance myself and benefited more. I wasn't going to bring this up but I was sent numerous emails asking over and over so there's my experience.

Up until now they were great, very pleased. Our last account has drug on forever. I feel now the longer it takes the more money they will get out of us. We have to wait to pay off last account with money already available to collect their fees. That is costing us that much more. We were to of graduated as of 2/15/21 and we are still paying into it. We want it over.

I've had issues with communications. They don't call you back when they say they're going to call you back. I'm having issues with some of the representatives doing one thing and refer on another and nobody was working on the same page. It's a little irritating to deal with them. They've solved a couple of my debts already. But it seems like they're kind of lax about getting to my creditors and talking to them on my behalf so I had several issues with that.

If any of your debt is settled through their law firm you will have to do the work yourself to get things paid off in one lump sum. There is NO assistance on how to contact 2 settled accounts which have not sent out 1099-C. My requests receive the same "canned response" with the add on of contact IRS. All we need to complete our 2019 taxes is a way to contact these accounts. Surely they have a phone # which we are not privy to. Last year received one on 4/13 letter and form dated 01/31/2019 and envelope the type which did not get postmarked. HELP below reflects this issue with a boost for great service on all other matters

It has been my experience that you should try to pay more than what they budget you out in the beginning. I have had two (so far) debtors to sue me and want to take me to court. However with being said the lawyers they ask you to get in the beginning are hands on it! You just have to go through the humiliation of a constable showing up at your work. Thankfully the constable was nice and told me if it's too good to be true then it is.

I’m not happy with how I’m settling $31,000 of debt for the same exact price over five years. When I first signed up I thought I would be saving money, not paying most of it to FDR . As if that’s not unsatisfactory, I’m owing thousands of dollars toward taxes because of all the settled debt. No one ever mentioned that would happen. I feel that FDR is putting me in more debt, not helping my situation.

I was doing OK until I was offered a consolidation loan that was denied. I do not like "no", especially when the loan was not my idea. Anyway, it should be understood that people use debt relief companies because of being overwhelmed with bills for a period of time and want to get adjusted. Saying "no" for the same reason (excess bills in relation to income) does not make sense to me. I contemplate dropping FDR and negotiating the bills myself.

The staff is very nice. They don't hesitate to answer any of my calls when I call or answer my questions. They email me all the time. They didn't tell me until after the fact that if you don't have enough funds then the companies that you're filing against take you to a magistrate and then you receive letter after letter because no one contacts you and tells you 'if you get a letter you go to contact us.' They are hoping but they take too much commission on each credit card they close, I think 23.% is way too much. better if they take a monthly small amount until all accounts are paid then take balance of their commission. It has been almost 11 months on our account and only 3 have been paid off with over |$6000 or more that has been our account. Wont have any money in account to pay off the biggest accounts until June so not really please with this.

They have created a structured plan where I only have to make payments to them instead of multiple places. I was a little disppointed in how long I had to let my accounts be in collections begore a settlement was reached. The people I owed money to were offering me much lower deals almost immediately compared to the amount of time it took to reach a settlement with FDR. They looked like my best option at the time. Their customer service is somewhere in between. I've had some good experiences and some bad experiences with them. They connected with me mostly through text messages. Some parts of the service have been satisfactory but some others haven't been that way. It all came down to the fees that I had to pay in the end. I haven't heard from anyone for 3 days since my phone broke in the hospital, and I can't access my dashboard. I feel indifferent about it. It would be helpful to receive letters instead of relying on the computer, as not all of us are tech-savvy. I prefer correspondence through letters to stay informed.
