To settle an account enrolled at $5,000, it will cost around $1,200 (or about 24 percent of the enrolled debt).

Users are charged an average of 24 percent of their total enrolled debt to use FDR. While this number is in line with their competitors, it is only an average. Customers could end up paying more or less than this to use FDR. FDR’s prices range between 18.25 and 25 percent. The rates vary depending on the state the client lives in.

Current national debt relief trends indicate that debt settlement companies tend to charge a percentage of enrolled debt as opposed to saved debt. This means that the more total debt you have, the more debt settlement companies will charge you.

  • Let consumers know that, in some cases, the creditor will only negotiate if the client is also directly involved in the negotiations, and that the consumer has the right to refuse to participate in the negotiations and can remove the debt from their program without penalty

  • Stop charging fees on all accounts where the settlement amount was not reduced, or where the creditor wrote off the debt on their own
  • Make it clearer to consumers that, if they end their program early, any money left in their program savings account belongs to them, minus any funds earned by the company according to legal statutes
  • Pay restitution money to injured consumers
  • Pay a civil penalty

Everything is great except in my personal opinion I think the scheduled payments could be handled in a better way.. like one was settled for around $250 and your making like $14 payments for months n months.. why not knock it out with a higher payment in less months... then take the next settlement and do the same... that I don't understand.. unless it's mire money in your pocket to stretch it out for months to years.

My only complaint is that an auto payment from one of my loans still came out before I could cancel it so I had to pay 540 even though it’s technically in my bundle. Other than that everything is fine

Almost the best I could dream of. There was one customer service manager who just wouldn't budge on what we can afford, so over the past 4 months we've had to do reduced payments to ultimately consult with a bankruptcy attorney. Everyone ends at FDR has been amazing, though. Now that the bankruptcy conversation is happening, we were able to get planned reduced monthly deposits to avoid having to quit the program altogether.

I had a positive experience with the program overall. The lady who explained everything was helpful, but I didn't like how they chose which accounts to address first. It made my credit worse initially, but the program is working well and helping me pay off debts. It's just taking longer than expected. I wish they had a clearer process for selecting accounts to target. It seems they go from lowest to highest balances without a set order. Overall, I can't complain about the progress and benefits it's providing.

The issue is with my last payment due this month, and I haven't received any feedback on when the automatic payments will stop. We've had some challenged when we call in to the regular customer service team where we get misinformation and recently we've had to go directly to a rep and not calling the main customer service line. When I call the customer service line things don't get resolved. It's been great with the person who's been helping us but it's been frustrating because I have to wait for them to be available. They pretty much resolved everything and did it for a lot less than we thought we could go. They need to have accuracy of data updates. They created a large confusion when they were settling it full time where it was unresolved when we thought it had been resolved.

I never thought about debt relief until one of FDR's cust serv people contacted me and explained their product. I'd been struggling with credit cards but their help sounded as if I could do better. I turned my CC debt over to them, followed their directions about interacting with my creditors. It was hard not making the monthly payments, waiting on the companies to settle. I started increasing my monthly payments to FDR to shorten the 48 month payment time frame. I hope to shorten the payment time to FDR even more in the near future. The CS people are always very nice and answer any questions or concerns. It seems to be a solid way to reduce CC debt so far. They offered a bank loan so I could make sure all my repayment monry was in the pot , perhaps they could secure settlements quicker, I refused that as i didnt want any further debt. Nothing further was said.., no one badgered me. I'm only part way though my settlements. So far so good. Ask me in anither year. Yes I'll recomment the services of FDR to anyone.

I looked them up online and asked around before picking them. They just looked like a good option and a trusted firm. I've been with them for about 2 years and I fully trust them. Every time I call, everybody is friendly and they keep me informed. They always give me good answers and try to guide me through every step I need to take. They make it easy for me to send out paperwork and things like that. For updates, they email me and I can also look at their website to find all the information. It has worked out well for me. It's a good way to pay back your debts without actually filing for bankruptcy. It's a pretty easy way out of that doesn't leave you feeling guilty about not paying your debt. Even when you include the debt relief fees that they charge, they steadily reduce the rates and payments you have to make. They also ensure that creditors won't be climbing on my back to bother me. I just wish they wouldn't stretch the actual payment so much but I understand that's how the system works.

We have been troubled with credit card debt. It didn't seem to ever get paid off because we were stuck just making the minimum payments. We contacted them to see if they could help relieve some of that stress and so far they have been able to do it. They have reduced the balance for 5 of our accounts by about 40%. There was one account that we got back where the settlement was not as much of a discount as my others had been. I rejected it and asked them to see if they could do a little better on that. They're still working on that account in particular so we'll see how that goes. I've been very satisfied with every other settlement they've reached though. Customer service is very good; they answer my questions really well. They're real pleasant over the phone, even when you're dealing with a stressful situation. There have been times where the person that I'm talking to is not really addressing my specific question but rather just generalizing things. I get a little frustrated whenever that happens but for the most part they are very helpful and friendly people. They send us emails or text messages whenever we get a new settlement or if they need approval for something. I'm very pleased about signing up with them. They've gotten us into a position that I would've never been able to reach on my own. We still got a way to go but so far everything has been mostly good. It has relieved a lot of stress.

At the time we were pretty messed up financially. We were pretty much living on credit cards and had no other money. It was just awful, so I tried to figure out a way out of that. I talked to someone several times about it and she was just very patient and understanding of my situation. In the end, I just decided to go with it. In the beginning it really felt like they were there for me. Before taking an offer from a company, they always asked me first if I wanted to accept it. They would also send me an email ever so often to encourage me to look at my account on their website to see what had been paid off. Later on though, when I had a couple more questions, the only way was could get a hold of them was through email or through their website. That didn't feel very personal to me. When we signed up I also didn't know that the fees were going to be as high as they were. I thought it was going to be like $2500 dollars for everything but for two years in a row I've been paying for a fee per account and I've also had to pay for cancellation of debt things and taxes. I mean, it has been a good thing, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now and that's good. We're happy to not ever have another credit card. But still'

They are a very good company and they were very concerned about our debt. So far they have been personable, nice, and generally they do really seem to care. I usually look on their dashboard to check on the progress of things and if I ever have any question I can just call them at any time. The only thing I wish they would change is the way they contact companies and such. They do individual accounts one at a time, but I wish they would contact all the debt agencies and let them know that they're working on the accounts. Still, I feel like I made a good decision working with Freedom Debt Relief.

I feel great; they helped me a lot, and I saved money. Communication was great, customer service was also great. They'll contact you at least once or twice a month. If I ever needed something, I'd contact someone directly, so that was kind of good that I actually had someone, I wouldn't say a personal number, but a phone where I can reach them anytime if I had any question with them. So that's truly what grabbed my attention; everything was legit. It was easy to work with them. It's been cool working with these people, it really has. They're great, they answer all my questions, not a problem at all, they're really nice people. I had a whole bunch of bills, so it was kind of overwhelming. I saw an ad on TV and so I called them. When I first started out, they put it on on my tablet but I'm not a very good electronics person, so when they make progress on my debt they call me on the phone, and I appreciate it very much. I love it, I'm glad I did it. On my limited income it's a little tough to have it deducted from my bank account every month, but it's a lot cheaper than what I was paying before. I was paying $6700 a month on these debts that I have, and now I'm paying $300, so I'm happy. I did save quite a bit.

I was laid off and forced to retire early, and I didn't make enough money on unemployment to pay for all the credit card bills I had accrued. I think I saw an ad on the internet about Freedom Debt Relief. I called them, and no complaints, I'm pretty happy with how it's going. I got emails from them, and actual correspondence through the postal service, and they've been good at keeping in touch. They told me it's going to take a few years to pay all the debt off, but so far so good. From the first card they settled I think I saved a thousand dollars, and they're taking care of three others that they're dealing with, trying to get my debts down. I like how they have the online dashboard because it makes easier and visible for you to look at your information, unless you have to talk to somebody all the time, but mainly I like the fact that they do the work for you. I needed help with a couple of credit cards, and I would say they probably saved me almost 10 grand. They kept me up to date by email, which was very good for me because I'm a busy mom and care giver. I did have a bad experience where a gentleman called me from there, offering some kind of loan. He was being kind of pushy, and when he called me I was busy driving. I told him that I would have to call back, but he insisted, trying to explain the program, and he was actually kind of rude at one point. He told me that he couldn't see why I couldn't understand how the program works, so that was a bad experience.
