I been with sunrun 2yrs ,and I regret it I have 29 panels and my home is 1700sq ft I still have to pay Edison 883.00 or more a month and a annual bill of $6843.00 I sent sunrun the bill asking why im getting a high bill from Edison, they not concern just trying to sale me more panels and a 15k battery, why would I purchase any more products from . I need out the contract this product is not beneficial to my family .My power got turned off had to take out a loan to get the power turned back on. All I end up with is 29 scrappy panels and a vet in debt because of yours panels.

Sunrun installed my system of 18 panels in October 2022. upon installation and signing the contract, they guaranteed me 9600 KWH right now. My system is only producing 80% of that when I go back in and talk to him and ask him to be able to look at it they’ve confirmed that one of my panels on my east side of my house does not get any sun and they’re confirming that it doesn’t get the full sun that it was supposed to have gotten!! Upon working on this for at least 5 to 6 months trying to figure out what was wrong or what they could do for it. The best they could come up with was since I’ve paid for my system that it was my system. It was my problem. They’re not living up to what their contract said that they were going to live up to, and I think that Sunrun misrepresented themselves And took me and it should be taken and put into a legal case in hiring an attorney which I’ve been advised to do just be careful of working with this company. this company no longer works in Arizona and I can understand why they were lucky that Costco had them in their store. Otherwise I would’ve never ever ever signed up with him very disappointed in this company 29,000 out the door.!!!!!!!

After my original review, Sunrun’s Escalations Team reached out, promising to look into my concerns. Weeks later, they have failed to take any meaningful action. Since then, I have connected with at least eight other customers who were all deceived by the same Sunrun salesperson, Luis “Louie” G. This is not an isolated issue—every single one of us was misled by Louie, who falsely promised low rates, lied about contract terms, and used high-pressure tactics to push sales. Sunrun promised me that my system would be pay-per-use at $0.27/kWh, but the contract I was given—after installation—locks me into a flat-rate bill with annual price increases. Additionally, they installed battery storage in a non-approved location on my bedroom wall, despite my objections. When I told the installers to stop, I was pressured into accepting the installation in exchange for $1,000, with the false promise that the system could be moved later. Now that I have tried to get it relocated, Sunrun refuses to take responsibility. Despite having clear evidence of fraud, Sunrun refuses to honor its promises, adjust contracts, or remove systems that were falsely sold. Their sales representatives lied about pricing, misrepresented the billing structure, and pressured customers into confirming contracts they never even saw. At this point, we are: • Filing legal action against Sunrun • Submitting formal complaints with the CPUC, CSLB, FTC, BBB, and IRS • Gathering additional victims who were also misled by Louie If you were also deceived by Luis “Louie” G or any other Sunrun representative, email us at sunrunvictims@gmail.com. We are organizing a legal case and gathering more individuals for action. Sunrun needs to be held accountable for its deceptive business practices. If you are considering going solar, do not trust their salespeople without reviewing every detail in writing with legal counsel. This version is strong, factual, and clearly lays out the fraud. It also invites other victims to come forward, which can strengthen legal action.

Sunrun promised to give me a solar solution that would charge my EV, provide power to the entire house when the grid went down, and replace my electricity bill completely. It does about half of the things that were promised. I am now stuck on the hook to pay for a system that can charge my EV, supplies power during outages as long as the air conditioner isn't running, and generates power when the sun is out but doesn't carry over the excess from uptime. I feel like I was sold a promise that wasn't delivered

My original review is with the Better Business Bureau if you like to read it. I had multiple contacts with Sunrun. NOTHING isn't working properly, yet I'm paying my monthly payment. Sunrun staff have been at my house numerous times to fix the same item. Whether it was realigning the solar panels on the roof, hopefully my roof won't leak into the attic this winter. Sunrun or 3rd party came to enter the attic 6 times because something wasn't working properly, still isn't. They came 6 times to fix the electrical panel which still isn't working properly. They are coming back on October 8, 2024, because the coils are not working still, no savings yet from my electric company. The install was May 2025, apparently the go of system was July 25, 2024. What month are we in and nothing is communicating with each other, the solar is sending all energy to the Grid and not my home on the tesla app. I had to adjust my schedule numerous times for Sunrun to fix something, sometimes Sunrun wouldn't show up and if they did, it still wasn't fixed right. I have never been disappointed with a company like this. Plus no one knows how to communicate with each other. I had so many contact persons that stated only contact me, however someone else would contact me and state they will arrive Thursday to fix something and then my original contact person had no clue what was going on. The Fresno area needs to refocus and regroup the whole dynamics of the structure of the business. Very unprofessional and Zero customer service.

I was misled by Randy H. into believing I would receive a promotional $1,000 check for signing on with Sunrun. After installation, Sunrun had no record of such a promotion as it relates to me. Also, most do not benefit from what was said to be a 30% tax credit from the government. As a retired/unemployed citizen I pay no taxes and so I receive no tax credits or any hope of $1 back on my investment. If Randy H. would have told me this, I would have never had Solar installed and I would have avoided arguments with my justifiably incredulous wife. Also,, if one does qualify for tax credit, they only have 5 years to claim it. In most cases people do not pay nearly enough taxes to claim the full credit. For example, if you install a $50,000 system as my neighbor did you would qualify for a $15,000 tax credit. This means that unless you usually pay $3,000 when you do your taxes, you will not receive your 30% back in 5 years. As I see it, if you are in less than an upper-middleclass income bracket, you should not go solar.

Unfortunately, I have bad experience with Sunrun. My bill with Edison was $150/month or less during the year and $600 to $800 during July and August. Now with Sunrun, I am paying $221.00 to Sunrun and $50 to $100 during the year and $500 to $600 during July and August to Edison. I spoke to the sales manager, and she gave me a SMART idea, I should appreciate her and Sunrun about her advice and mentality, she said: "you can turn off the refrigerator if you think it will increase the electric bill" . I reached out again to my Sales rep. and he helped me to get in contact with a Manager from Sunrun, her name is Yosselin. She tried with a professional way to show me that the solar system is working good but my consumption increased. Then she suggested to have her team call me to add more Panel and for sure pay more and she reached out to me in June 24, 2024 saying the Team will call me and till now 8/26/2024 end of Summer 2024 I didn't hear back from Sunrun Team. I won't recommend the service of Sunrun for anybody. All that happened around June 2024 and till now

Sunrun's engineers approved our house to receive solar panels but their installers said they could not put the panels on our cathedral ceiling so another engineer came out and inspected our roof, said they could go ahead with the work. Installers came back and started the job but again said there was no way to do it. They left my roof with leaking holes and metal flashing for installation (which they couldn't complete). When I complained about the water coming in they came out and fixed the leaks but still left the metal flashing and holes (which they said were sealed) in the other part of the roof. They said I was lucky they repaired what they did and have no intention of fixing the rest. I would never recommend Sunrun to anyone!

This is a critique of the new roof, solar system installation, and follow up customer service. 1. The new roof, installed and guaranteed by Sunrun, has been leaking for over a half year and Sunrun has done nothing about it. 2. I was told that installation of the panels would be facing due South and tilted 20 degrees for optimal performance in Hawaii. The panels were installed due West and tilting 8 degrees, nowhere near the optimum orientation. 3. I have been trying for over two years to get Sunrun to correct the orientation issue with no corrections made. 4. I have been trying over 6 months to fix the leaking roof with no correction being made. 5. Until these issues are resolved, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Sunrun to anyone looking to install a photovoltaic system. In fact I would recommend you run the other way.

If I could give Sunrun "Zero" stars, that is what they deserve. This is the third residence with a Sunrun system. Started with them 2011. They are NOT the same company as far as service as in the past. Most recent system was installed October 2023. Nothing but trouble from the start. Inverter and battery replaced within a month. Battery was programed incorrectly and just exported its contents to the grid each night within 2 hours. Constantly called customer service and just got lip service and mis-information. System has now been completely down for two weeks. Still trying to get someone out. Appointments are scheduled but no one show up. Just given excuses but then told that my case was escalated to priority. Makes no difference. No help from regional or district managers.

I've been a member for 14 years, my system originally costed $54K and I've paid on it all this time. It has been down for 8 months with no repair happening anytime soon. All my efforts to get this system repaired has been in VAIN. THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALTH WITH. I now just want out of my lease so I can move forward with another vendor. They claim I still owe $50K after 14 years of payment to get out of my lease for the last six years. NEVER USE SUNRUN. All they every say is it is escalated and for 8 months nothing happens. I am also very concern because I am on a well and must have electricity but where I live Edison can go down regularly and without solar I don't even have water. This situation does not even phase them.

This company deserves ZERO stars. I have been trying to reach someone regarding removal of the panels so that my roofer can install a new roof. NO ONE has called or emailed me back despite multiple attempts (more than 10 times) to get this service scheduled. This has been going on for several weeks. I have NEVER experienced such POOR customer service in my life. Sunrun apparently just wants to collect its monthly fees and is absolutely not interested in providing any customer services whatsoever. It is obvious that money and profits are the only thing Sunrun cares about. It is mind blowing how little they regard they hold for their customers. It is equally stunning how such a pathetic company was able to become the country's largest residential solar company. I'm certain there are many third-world companies worldwide that are providing infinitely better service than Sunrun. NO ONE COULD POSSIBLY BE WORSE. There is a very good reason why Sunrun consistently gets abysmal ratings on multiple consumer rating sites. Any 5-star reviews are highly suspect and are likely posted by company employees. I am completely regretting ever having heard of Sunrun and urge anyone considering signing up for Sunrun to AVOID SUNRUN LIKE THE PLAGUE. You'll thank me later. Trust me.

Sunrun installed a system that was not explained at all. Found out that the system does not work in a brown-out and does not offer a rebate on gas, which the salesperson said it does. I would not have gone with Sunrun if I knew what they were going to install. The salesperson never explained anything about the battery they were going to use. I have complained to Sunrun but they will do nothing. They installed a cheaper battery (NO back up in a brown-out and no gas rebate that the salesperson promised), not Tesla. Why would I have solar that doesn't work in a brown-out??? Every Sunrun installation and other solar companies that I have come across uses Tesla batteries, but mine they didn't. And, of course, the salesperson that sold me the system does not work for Sunrun anymore. I can see where this is going to end up in court.

"Run from m Sunrun!" -------- 6/10/24. We had Solar Panels installed on our home for almost two "2" years by Sunrun Solar. To me, SUNRUN is a joke. Our requests to have them Removal and Reinstall solar panels have been lingering for at least a year.  I must apologize for recommending this company to others and hope they receive better service than I have.  The roofing company is waiting on Sunrun to Remove the Solar Panels. I'm just hoping that they will provide us with reasonable customer service.  Unless they do this I cannot recommend Sunrun as a reliable Solar Company.  They did a good job installing the panels. They understandably had to come back and clear up a couple of repairs. But as far as I'm concerned; "a good company should be judged base on the service they provide rather than the promises they made to get a sale.  Some of our neighbors have had similar experiences with this company. You probably need to "Run as far and fast as you can" from Sunrun Solar.  Their customer service stinks!

I got Sunrun last year, however it took me 4 months to get a contract to review. Had I got my contract on day 1 I would have vetoed it immediately. That was on July 17, last year. I kept contacting them continuously. The cancellation page said should I change my mind they would remove the panels. The said, No we will not remove them. All of my texts to Sunrun were on attorneys advice. Finally on December 13, 2023, I sent them a Demand letter to Lehi, Utah Thier main corporate office. I had Sunrun come on July 17, 2023. It took me 4 months to get a contract to review. I finally received something that resembles a contract the end of November. It said it had 10 days to make an informed decision. I was not given that option. Next I wrote a Certified Demand Letter on a attorneys advice on December 13, 2023 and sent it to a much larger Sunrun office in Lehi, Utah, advising them of my problem. I never received a response. They had 60 days to respond.. That was February . In the Demand letter they had 60 days to remove the panels. They said they wouldn't remove them. The main contract page says if they don't pick them up by 60 days, the panels are mine to dispose of as it wish. Next I began receiving collection notices and deactivating notices on what is now legally my Solar panels according to my contract. They gave up any rights to the panels on February 13, 2024, when the didn't picky them up. It's now May of 2024 and now they have trespassed on my property and shut off my Solar system. I come on Social media because, I know people like myself need to save money due to the rising costs. However, I believe in dealing with a reputable company, which Sunrun is not. NO RESPONSE. I STARTED RECEIVINGCollection 🔤 l, then most recently letters of deactivation letters.

Overall I am dissatisfied with solar in general. It’s just another payment on top of the electric bill. That’s it, bottom line. So if you want to pay someone extra money for nothing in return by all means go right ahead. First, I live in Southern California where the sun is out year round so it would make sense, however Edison doesn’t give enough credit for the power we produce that’s extra. But they charge full price for our usage and we only get less than 25% of what we send them. Makes no sense at all. Also, the power went out on a hot summer day with the sun out, you would try in that solar runs on he house and AC while it’s daytime and sun is out but it doesn’t. So we were left stranded no AC and 90 plus outside. We use to only pay $400 to $500 for about two to three months out of the year and the other months around $135 but now it’s $172 plus $75-$100 every month for solar and Edison. So I’m paying an extra $500 bucks basically.

3/25/24- I have been a customer since 2019, and from install to this day, I am still paying over $2000-3000/yr to Edison for power. This is due to Sunrun designing my system incorrectly (admittedly), under-producing, and they refuse to resolve the issue. I have made several complaints, phone call, emails, chats and have opened cases (12122909, 14041433, etc.), and others but they have fallen off the website now. All they offer is to install more panels, at my expense of an additional $10,000, to solve the admitted under-production design issue. We have had countless Sunrun representatives to our home, with no resolution, only a sales pitch, as described above. I currently have a Yellow "Fault" light on, Red "communication" light on, and the Power Production light is OFF. I chatted with the company online and was told that there was not a problem, and they would not schedule a service. I chatted with a second agent and was finally able to get a proposed appointment scheduled (we'll see). It always takes multiple attempts to get any type of help. I have also had panel issues and a failed inverter during all of this. I want my under-production issue to be resolved. I paid (in full now) $37,000 to still have to pay Edison $2000-3000/yr forever. This is absolutely unacceptable business practice. Also, we have not added any additional items in our home since the install. No additional TVs, accessories, fridges, etc. In fact, we now limit or appliance use and limit AC usage because of our continued Edison bill. P.S. My best friend across the street, with the exact same house and floor plan, with Sunrun's system, consistently has CREDIT with Edison to spare. I want this resolved. 4/5/24 – Battery has faulted out and needs to be replaced. Technician told me only a few days, it is pretty common and can replace quickly. 4/22/24 – Escalation Email response from SunRun rep: ” Dear Chris, I sincerely apologize for the delay in my response. I understand your frustration, and I sympathize with the current situation at hand. It is important to note that you have saved $2,533.75 on utility payments; without your solar panels, you would have paid $4,412.97. Additionally, I have duly noted that your system is now paid off in full. To address the inconvenience you have experienced, I am happy to facilitate a complimentary healthy system inspection and waive the associated costs. Furthermore, as a one-time gesture of goodwill, I would like to offer you a $250 check. Please let me know if you would like to accept this offer. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I declined this offer, as it is a payoff attempt to close the case and not repair my system. 4/29/24 – Battery has not been addressed/replaced yet. Now have been told it will be 8 weeks for approval and replacement. SunRun has not further addressed my unproduction concerns.

Don’t buy any services or products. They just lie left and right. Their sales rep was helpful at first and promised to help to solve issues and do some reimbursement but later ignored my messages and never called back. His name is Michael T, pure liar. I noticed severe decline in production after the first month of installation. After 6.5 months the production is only 1933 verses their 10980 annual estimates and they claim nothing is wrong with the system. I’ve contacted them requiring to remove the system immediately from the house. Just filed a complaint with BBB and will take also legal action if they don’t remove it.

I have one years experience leasing Sunrun panel and battery. In this time I have found their equipment to be faulty, their customer service to be atrocious and feel that I was miss led during the contract signing process. I understood that per the contract if I had difficulties, these difficulties would be resolved in arbitration. What I know was if there was a problem with their equipment, they would deflect and try to make it all my fault. Every problem was answered with I am using too much power. I live in a small 2 bedroom house and asked for them to build a system that would be big enough so I could turn my spa back on (which I haven't done) and would also handle an electric car if I got one. My appliances are energy star and all my lights are LED. I am not a big energy user. The last few months have been horrendous. In the middle of Dec. they asked if they could come out to inspect my battery. After the inspection I was told that everything was in good working order. The next day it stormed and my power went out for two hours. I let Sunrun know via email that their battery failed. They made no contact. I then got hit the next week with a $700.00 bill from PG&E. I asked PG&E solar customer service to come out and inspect their meter. They came and did a 3 hour inspection. They came to the conclusion that the problem was on Sunrun's side. They even offered to connect with Sunrun and share their findings. This could go on and on like it has for me, so I'll bottom line. Many emails have gone back and forth. I ask questions, they don't answer the questions. They just talk about how much they want to help and go back to their blame-game process. Next PG&E bill, $441.00. The final blow was the big storm that went through this last weekend and I had no power until this morning. I am 77 year old disabled woman that needs oxygen at night and often during the day. No power, no oxygen and I am paying for a battery that offers me no protection. By the time my neighbors checked on me I was in bad shape. What really galls me is that, I have learned is I am stuck in a 25 year contract with this awful company.

Buyers Beware! Right from the start there were problems. Not minor glitches either, but major discrepancies with what we were told by the sales person and what actually happened. The sales person initially stated it would only take a 7-10 days for installation to be scheduled and completed. However, it was well over 4 months before installation was completed. During the initial consultation, the sales person told us to submit 3 months of our previous electric bills and claimed he padded our regular usage by 1.5 times what our usage history demonstrated. He boasted this would be a huge cost savings, which we were happy to hear, being retirees and living on a fixed income. The sales person explained that as long as we didn’t go over our new set point for allocated usage, we would never again receive a bill from Edison. He then reiterated the only time we would ever receive a bill from Edison, is if we used more electricity than we generated each day, yet every month since the system was installed, we have received a bill from Edison for miscellaneous charges.. in fact our cost for electricity is now $40 a month higher with solar than it was without. Another issue we encountered was we were offered to add on to our order a battery back up so in the event of an outage we would have access to the power we generated that was to be stored as a back up resource, however sometime after the battery back up was installed, we learned through observation of the equipment, not collecting power. After calling in to customer service we were informed that 1. the battery was defective and would need to be replaced, and 2. they decided to change the manner in which the battery back up is intended to work. Now it was set to discharge whatever had been stored throughout the day, starting every night at approximately 4pm, to address peak hour electrical usage, so as to reduce the impact of higher rates being assessed by Edison… READ THAT AGAIN AND MAKE IT MAKE SENSE - we are generating 1.5 times MORE of our own electricity, than we had ever previously used, without solar, but now we have to worry about electrical usage fees during peak hours?! Next was the main board outage that was obviously not being properly monitored by SunRun, which while out in the backyard one night I noticed a steady red light, which intuitively seemed to be a visual alert that wasn’t there when the system was first installed. No one from SunRun noticed the system wasn’t working, instead we had to call customer service to ask why it didn’t seem like the system was functioning properly… they told us they’d have a repair team out right away, but even that took 3 days… Next is the billing mixup and the rude accusations from collections, aggressively harassing us, rather than taking the time to review all the transactions and explain where they were arriving at the discrepancy. We made dozens of phone calls requesting to escalate the matter of harassment, but no one called us back… we eventually went through all of our statements to figure out what happened and resolved the billing matter ourselves, no thanks to SunRun customer support. Finally, the (verbally) undisclosed annual rate increase that we only became aware of when the monthly billing statement price had increased. If we had it all to do over again, it would be a resounding “thanks, but no thanks” from us.

This company has no integrity. They prey specifically on the elderly. They give a great presentation, giving all the positives of having solar. They leave out all the major problems with the contract they will have you hurry up and sign. Bottom line is they are selling you a binding 25 year lease. You cannot get out of this or sell your home unless a buyer is willing to take over the lease or you have to pay Sunrun an astronomical price to get out of the lease.(much more than the solar system is worth) It took them almost a year to install. Delays, proven parts that had to be reordered, etc, etc. They installed it wrong and I was then billed almost 4 times what I should have been billed. Multiple times during the process I told them to just forget it and take it out. (See next paragraph) Good luck communicating with them. I sent emails and got an automated response that they would get back with me within 24 hours. I never heard from them. I tried calling numerous times. You are passed from person to person and then placed on eternal hold. When they come back on the line they tell you that you need to talk to a specific person. Unfortunately, that person is never available. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told they would not talk to me. They promised someone would call by the end of the day. No one ever called.

Would not recommend Sunrun to anyone. Their customer service is the worst at best. The sales dept. tells you what you want to hear and then when you sign the contract you will never have any kind of support from them. They out source everything from service to customer service. The language barrier on the phone is difficult. The wait to talk to anyone at customer service is nothing but long. I asked to speak to a supervisor regarding an unsolved issue and it took 40 minutes to get to speak to her. She said she would email me the info I needed to proceed with this issue. Never got an email. One star does not even come close to how awful this company is.

1. System advertised and designed was not installed as per discussions, battery was suppose to be installed in garage for safety reasons, they installed it in the basement. 2. System does not do what I was told. Battery was suppose to work along side solar to help reduce dependence of grid, the battery will only go on when there is no grid power. 3. monthly payment was changed from 302 to 352 then another change in 18 months. to 501, none of this was discussed. I was send a form with my signature that i never saw and had. I spoke with two other people who where going through them and they also never saw that form either. 4. Has failed electrical inspection no main cut off switch. 5. Lied to about refer program. was told it was 1000 per person. I referred 2 people and was told that I was only getting 1 person for 500. 6. System percentage isn't going to be what they said after i spoke with a third party about what was going on.
