I had a great experience with Ion Solar. They were very professional. The process was clear throughout! I have to say ghe best part was working with the guys who came to shore up the roof to support the panels. They were very considerate of my living space and helpful. While I wish I could afford the battery system, the change in my cooling bills has been considerable. I feel good taking burden off the grid.

Honestly a great straightforward process. Probably not 100% perfect on the return but generating my own power is great and I get full credit back. I've had a couple of low to zero dollar electrical bills which is sweet. The panels are awesome and don't look totally out of place. Everytime I had questions for the customer service team they were answered in a reasonable time and always very welcoming. I do tend to ask dumb questions.

The whole process went very smoothly. The permits were done efficiently and so approvals came very quickly. The install day was perfect and it looks beautiful! They worked with us to accommodate our desires on where to place them (all on back side of our roof) which is west facing. Very well pleased with the finished product and it is working perfectly. 😊

I've used Ion Solar for 2 different homes now. I also got my brother and his best friend to get the system. We all love it. I have full access to my system and I save money every month. My bill is $40 per month and the loan is $120 per month. Average electric in my area is about $220 per month so I'm saving $60 monthly easily. More savings in the summer of course. My HOA gave me issues and Ion took care of it all. Such great customer service.

Everyone that I've had dealt with at Ion had been easy to talk with if they didn't have an answer they would find someone who did. It would have been done sooner if not waiting on my insurance on my roof. It was rather quick when they put the panels up took the electrician about a full day to put everything in it's working order. Turned on today when I got home and will see in the coming months how it performs. I'm very satisfied with the work and their patience waiting on my roof.

The first thing I noticed and liked was the initial contact; me being totally ignorant on how the solar process works with your home and your energy provider was explained it in detail more then once, Mike made SURE I understood everything and if I had questions a few months later he took the time to explain it patiently and said to contact him anytime. Second: I was able to follow the installation from beginning to end step by step. Third: The installers were fast, accurate and left NO mess on the property and one of the installers gave me some very useful information on saving energy even with solar panels. Fourth: The solar panels are not visible from the street. Fifth: I AM COMPLETELY SATISFIED!

Do not choose ION solar. They will boast about their BBB rating but if you take a close look their rating has been steadily decline and their are numerous complaints on the BBB website. Don't make the mistake we did and believe the positive ratings, they are all false. We bought a solar system from ION not fully realizing what we got ourselves into. They locked us into a contract then installed an inferior system that barely produces the energy our home needs. Contacting ION is next to impossible as they rarely respond to emails and when you call and finally get someone they will promise to call you back but never do. Then we were told we had to purchase additional panels and batteries at almost double the cost of what we were originally charged in order to meet our energy consumption needs. So now we're $40k in the hole with a useless solar system. There are much better solar companies out there who will not try to rip you off. We had solar in NY with Momentum Solar which was a much better and more transparent experience.

The one thing I have seen as a challenge is more related to finding a provider that has a viable buyback plan. Be sure to do your due diligence in researching the best options available, and most importantly, be sure to go with company that has a buyback plan.
