I generally don't do reviews. Ironically, I give reviews a great deal of consideration. After extensive research and after interviewing seven Solar companies, we decided to go with ION Solar. The professionalism and personal attention was head and shoulders above the rest. The genuine integrity we encountered during the entire process was more than we expected. Every objective our Energy Consultant discussed prior to, during, and subsequent of the installation was accomplished. The ION team kept us informed during the entire process. The level of stress associated with this endeavor was absolutely zero. Eric, our Energy Consultant along with Sophia, our Project Coordinator, were there for us during the entire process, literally just a phone call away. The inspector, the design team, the installers, and the technicians were incredibly professional, courteous, respectful, patient, and proficient. We were thoroughly informed and kept abreast of many significant details associated with our Solar project. This team was virtually surgical in bringing our green energy system to fruition. We were treated as family. Every question or concern was treated with the utmost respect and attention. To Sophia, Eric, James, Tony, Jeremiah, Ron, and all who contributed, we give ION Solar a "�Two Thumbs Up"�. My wife and I , would highly recommend to anyone seeking to go solar, "�ION SOLAR "�,a "�Hall of Famer"� of a company. We are thoroughly satisfied with the finished product.

I'm very, very happy with their service and the products. And I really appreciate the fact that they brought wonderful financing to me since I had, had a bankruptcy and the financing allowed me within a shorter period of time, just two years after the bankruptcy was closed, to be able to qualify. They have microprocessors for each solar panel and that enables easy diagnosis in case something goes wrong. They came up with a plan for the solar panel. They got the plan approved. They came and installed everything in one day. They were very easy to work with, they were very efficient and I couldn't say more positive things about them. They were excellent.

the cost is a bit high and felt quite pressured and no calls to see if they are operating as they should be. I think it would be good to offer a free inspection in the spring to insure they are operating properly. I will say after the weather with high winds and freezing rain they must have done a great job of insuring a strong installation and they seem to have held up well despite all the crazy weather.

I had signed up with Ion Solar last year in May, they were extremely helpful and communicative with me, especially compared to other companies, until I signed a contract with them. It took 2 months for them to install my panels, July, after which is took them 6 months to actually get an electrician to hook them up. (7 electricians and 10 visits over the course of 6 months). Their communication was terrible, I was often left with no answers to my questions. I would have to reach out to the sales person to get any sort of response, as their service team would not respond to me or tell me they would get back to me and never respond. After 6 months and many complaints, multiple times submitting support tickets that I was never contacted about, I sent a scathing email to the sales person, even inquiring about somehow getting out of the contract, after which I was connected with a region manager who took over my communication. He was responsive and helpful, but after 8 months of waiting to get these panels installed and connected it was little and very late. It wasn't until this last February that the panels were finally approved to be turned on. I think if you are a lucky one, who Ion responds to, it might be worth it. However my experience was awful and I do not recommend to anyone looking for Solar panels.

Slow, unreliable, and low quality labor network for installation. Process started at the end of June, had approval from the city on 01-Aug., after multiple reschedules the panels were installed a couple months later, they had issues, after multiple trouble shooting visits, it seems like they started producting power on 23-Jan. 2026. 6 Months from city approval to system generating power seems like a long time; afterall, whole houses get built is half that time. So, have I been paying for both the solar loan and the utilities? Yes, for a couple months I've been paying both bills. Hopefully, the delayed install doesn't impact my tax credit. If you're into speed, quality, or saving money you should move onto the next company on your list. If speed, quality, and saving money isn't important to you, then your values align and ION is your company. Oh and after the system started producing power, the app. that is provided to monitor usage is out of date and doesn't work with updated Android operating system. Since I'm complaining, I'd point out that they want an adult at home for all visits (which is reasonable), but when you're looking at approx. 8 visits and all of those got rescheduled a minimum of 1 time, you're looking at taking 16 days off work to be ready for the system to be installed. This is fine if you don't work or work from home, but if you have a job, this is considered inconvenient.

Based on the feasibility study of the solar panels and the attached shading report, it appears the system would produce no worse than 1,400 kilowatt hours per panel on an annual basis. But as you can see from the other attached screenshot, this system only produced about 584 kilowatt hours in July, which should be a peak-producing month for these panels. That equates to only about 58 kilowatt hours per panel. Even under optimistic assumptions, such as the panels producing the same every month (which is not true due to winter or days with limited sunlight), the panels would only produce 700 kilowatt hours per year, which is just under half of the production estimated in the shading report. The total cost was about $13,000, and if we assume the system does produce the optimistic amount listed above at 700 kilowatt hours per year per panel, that’s 7,000 kilowatt hours per year at a rate of roughly $0.08 per panel—only about $560 per year. Before any tax incentives, that would take about 23 years to recover the initial costs of these panels. This is a very different reality than what was presented in the marketing materials, which showed a payback period of about nine years, as you can see from the attachments. After a call with Ion Solar, I was told my panels are operating near 100% efficiency. If that’s the case, it seems clear that the expected annual production of these panels is known, so it feels misleading and borderline unethical to present production figures in the marketing materials and proposals that insinuate cost savings significantly greater than what will actually occur. Hence my frustration—had I known the true output of the panels, there’s no way I would have pursued this endeavor.
