From start to finish the ION Solar team was there for us. Explaining step by step what to expect and answering all are questions. They kept us on task making sure the process was completed in a timely matter with a minimal amount of mess. Now it has been about two years since our system has been installed and our electric bill is down to numbers we haven’t seen since we lived in an apartment. I’m happy with the whole process. Kim and her team stayed in communication throughout this entire process and not once did I get a headache or agitated by something that didn’t go right. They have made this process easy and quick!! It was all done in one day, when the workers had to change the layout of the panels they made sure to involve us BEFORE completing the job. There was no hassle with COMED.

The timing ION's promotion team was perfect. I've considered solar/green energy, but didn't have a reference. Presentation included factors on install, finance, home survey, etc. Communication is absolutely consistent with inspections, HOA, documents, scheduling, etc. Installation and electrical was amazing! Still can't figure how so few did so much. Neighbors were asking questions well before completion. Happy to finally be able to utilize the amount of sun/heat after all these years. Thanks, ION!

We contracted ION Solar in July of 2024 and installation was complete with turn on from our electric company in early November 2024. We are very satisified with the operation and energy savings of our panels. Although not perfect, ION solar is the only company that we would recommend to our friends looking to move to solar.
The longer story:
Our home:
We have a less than optimal roof for solar. Our roof faces east to west with steep pitch
that shades the roof. Additionally, the west side of the house is butted by large trees. Therefore, we needed a fair amount of panels or produce the electricity needed to fully supply our needs. Electrical billing in 2025 was changing such that it was a big financial benefit for us to have the installation completed by mid December of 2024.
ION solar was only one of two companies that were willing to bid our on project. We went with ION for two reasons 1) we preferred the technology and warranty with their panels 2) we trusted the salesman who only wanted to sell us what we needed and not extra capacity (which we could add on later if we needed). We trusted ION's engineering to size us correctly.
We are 6 months into operations and things are running very well. The first four months are the lowest quarter of the year, so we are underproducing what we need, but March/April looks like we are well on track to be self-sufficient.
The installation itself was not problem free (therefore only 4 stars instead of 5) and it was often difficult to get a timely replay to quesitons, but everything was resolved in the end. Every other friend of ours that have installed solar has various installation. issues of one sort or another, so I think this is fairly typical.

Ion Solar did a great job of installing a solar system that has worked perfectly for almost 3 years! They were highly efficient and professional and took care of all the permits and paperwork. While their claim that my rebates would pay for the cost of the solar panels were optimistic, I came out ahead as electricity costs keep rising. My monthly payment is $76 for the panels and my actual electric bill is only $15.47 monthly. Combined, both payments are far less than I'd pay if I didn't have the panels. I haven't regretting my decision for one second! They did a great job!

It did take a couple of months for completion but with the inspections and weather delays it was about what I was told.
Overall it was a good process and since they have been installed this year has been a break even plus about one electric bill.

We initially had a contract with another company and they didn't contact me for several months so we switched to ION Solar and they paid the cancelation fee. They were quick with the process. It only took several hours for the install. The panels look nicer than the older ones with the grid pattern I've seen on some homes. I'm still waiting for the inspection from the utility company but don't anticipate any issues.

My experience with ION Solar has been great in all stages. Shaun/Megan are the sales representatives that first came to my house and explained all the process, assessed my capacity needs and presented a competitive proposal and helped with the finance process of the project as well. ION Solar took care of everything, including city and suppliers permits. Installation was clean and fast. In all the years with the solar system I only had a panel disconnection which was addressed immediately.

My guy Preston came knocking on my door as per usual when you buy a new home, lucky for him I was in the market! I had signed with another company prior to his arrival but he took a look over my contract and pointed out that the other company wasn’t even selling me a solar system!!! I was essentially renting them. He quickly advised me on how to get out of that contract and for LESS than what the other company was charging me, I was able to get a bigger system and back up battery using BETTER technology. I knew nothing when it came to solar products and I am extremely grateful that Preston got me out of a potentially nightmare of a situation. I had a few issues with my panels when the system was first installed, but they were quickly remedied. I would contact Preston at the craziest of hours due to my own work schedule and he never failed to answer my questions, regardless of how many times I would ask the same thing. I’ve had the system for a few months now and have no complaints! The back up power has came in handy for a couple storms and random outages and overall our family is very happy with our system.

So excited to finally have solar! We've been wanting this and talking about it for years and Ion finally made it happen! They were generally responsive to our questions and very patient with all of your spreadsheets and annoying questions. Our Energy Adviser, or primary sales POC, was Griffin M and he sat with us for several hours over multiple days patiently going through all of our engineering spreadsheets and detailed questions. He was very honest and straightforward with us and if didn't know something he would go find it out in a reasonable timeframe. Can't appreciate his work enough.
There were a few times where we had to go back to the design team with concerns and we had to delay the installation to get the right numbers for our power home usage but they ultimately worked out well. Because of all of our questions, it was maybe 3 months between contract to install but the actual install was done very quickly, within a day. We did have to wait a few weeks after install to turn the system on but that was mostly waiting on city inspections, permit, and power company permissions.
We do appreciate the Ion Solar app which allows us to monitor our system performance on a daily basis and we are already seeing power go back to the power company ~20 days after install :).

There are a lot of solar companies out there with better reviews and name recognition…but I’ve a personal connection with ION solar because they’re honest and upfront with the pros and cons of having a solar energy source. They don’t try to sugar coat it. Lori did a great job connecting with me even on unholy hours I called or texted her, she always response back. With big project like this, they make it smooth and street free as much as possible for me and my wife. They really care for their clients as individuals investing hard-earned money with them. The introduction to a residential solar power system was very good and the teamwork of each individual made the experience exceptional. Communication with the customer is a priority. Site inspection was excellent. Installation was efficient and well organized. The administrative paperwork process was well coordinated. Communication by the local government and power company were the only points where being patient was required. Permission to operate the system took the longest time, but once that notification arrived the wait was worth the patience. The system installed has produced great results, I’m looking forward to longer daylight hours which will increase productivity.

I absolutely love my solar system. It has performed above and beyond my expectations and ION's predictions were spot on. Short list of the gains. 1 Needed a warranty service shortly after installing no issues and no charge. 2 the 30% tax write off went perfectly and reduced my loan by 30% in the first year. 3 I have no electric bill but the $8.89 monthly connection fee. 4 I am making money as I produce more than what I need and have increased my monthly payment by almost 1/3 per month for an early payoff. 5 All this has increased my property value as a bonus on top of everything else. Rate this as one of the best investments I have ever made.

The Ion Solar team were great to work with. It took a few months to get the ball rolling and the correct approvals, but once it was in place, the install team came out and set up all of my solar panels. It takes another month or so to get the local utility company to connect, which can be frustrating, but I've they did, Ion was great about coming back out to make sure all of the connections were working and syncing on the app. I've had them now for a little over a year and my electricity bill averages 0 dollars in the summer months and up to 30 dollars a month in the winter. (Keeping in mind that I pay a flat monthly fee of around 150 or so each month to pay off the solar panels... But that's half of what I was paying the utility company previously!... And the payment doesn't ever go up because I'm just paying off the solar panels.)
As a reference, I have about 23 panels on the south, East and Western facing sides of my roof... None on the north, and there are no trees in the way. Ion estimated that I would only price about 60 percent of my electric usage based off of my geographic location, so I've been thrilled that I'm producing almost 100 percent. You can also sell back some of your over production to the utility company for pennies on the dollar (optional).
I think the hardest part of the whole thing was waiting for everything to get hooked up and connected and the stress of not knowing how much energy we would produce. So far, so great! I got mine at the end of 2022, and they were connected and running by Feb of 2023. I got a tax credit incentive for installing them, which was an added bonus! I'm a very happy customer!

Mitch was the absolute best in explaining everything about ION solar. Once they got started it was smooth sailing. Continuous up dated, emails and calls. Keeping me posted on the installation process. As time progressed. Everything was quick. Surprisingly, even with connection with Dominion Power. If I had any concerns at all. I just sent Mitch a text or email and he was on it and got back sometimes with the hour. I couldn't have ask for a better response. I cannot say enough good stuff about how ION and Mitch with their customer service. OH!!!!!! The solar unit works great. I saw lower AC bills and now that it's winter again. My electric bill savings are phenomenal.

From the time the ION walked thru our home, we were really taken by his personality, friendliness, expertise and was not a pushy salesperson. He explained everything very detailed and worked with our budget. It was a smooth transition, that we ordered another set of panels 3 years later, to become fully solar. Both times the transition was smooth sailing. We are pleased with our panels, the savings are amazing. No electric bills. We also have been able to sell some of our energy every month. We loved getting a refund back from the government for installing the panels. We loved that ION also furnished us with energy saving lightbulbs, thermostat and a nice giftcard. I was very impressed with how ION managed the install of my system. Everything was completed in one day but the part that took forever were the 2 inspections done by the city permit and Nevada power. If I remember correctly that tool 3 months before the unit was on line.
ION calculated I would need 10 panels to provide enough power for my usage. My average electric bill was 65.00 winter and 120.00 in the summer. Now with the system my bills are 20.00 in the winter and 75.00 in the summer.
If you are thinking of having a system installed for saving money, your not because I financed everything which for me I pay 121.00 a month for 10 years and adding that to the electric bill my monthly budget for power is greatly increased.
The only difference is I'm buying something and not just sending money to the power company.
After 10 years when the system is paid off I will save money monthly but the warranty is 10 years so who knows how that will go.
My other concern is later if I have a problem with it will ION still be in business and if not who will I get to service it?
Over all its a great thing to add to your home but if your trying to save money---your not.

They did an awesome job from the first contact and the representative that came to assist me was able to easily answer all my questions. What can I say that would better help you the reader understand the delight it was to work with ION Solar. EVERYONE, from the initial person knocking on my door, to the support team now years after install, have been nothing but helpful and great. I have heard plenty of horror stories from my neighbors and family about the companies they went with. While I just brag at the excellent customer service and quality product they provide. Most of my neighbors have had 1-2 repairs or replacements with their solar panels. They did not go with ION like I did and now suffer. Here we are in November, my solar has been on for roughly 10 months. I've had a hot Oklahoma summer with them on. Not a electric bill over $46 except for 1 month. The hottest month it was $92. Looking to see how many credits I build with PSO during the winter for summer use. Someone is always at the house so the AC stays on.
They took care of the approvals and we coordinated with my HOA for their approval.
The installation guys were excellent.
I'm not going to say I didn't have worries through the process. I now realize my worries were unfounded.
My sales rep Mike, was excellent. I met him first as my wife was out of town, (they want both homeowners there). When she returned, he gave a solid presentation, was able effectively answer our questions and we made adjustments to the amount of panels and got a real time cost.
Overall. It was pretty quick on install. You have 2 months before your payment starts. They will re-imburse you for the months you pay for electric and your solar panel note. I did not utilize that option bc it was during the winter and my bill was $17 (I have gas heat). If it was the summer, it would probably be a different story. It was roughly 5 months before PSO had everything rectified.
This is a somewhat extensive review. I understand. I know that purchasing solar is a big deal. But it is worth it. I'm an energy producer now. Not just a consumer. I produce for the grid, they send it back. They don't have to maintain it. It is a win for them too. Eventually, I'll have ION put in reserve battery packs.

Usually not a great fan of Door to Door marketing but ION has been an exception. They were respectful since the beginning of the conversation and great to work with.
From the get go, design phase, they were easy to work with and patient helped in making changes and help in getting necessary approvals and permits during the installation process. Since most of the communication were over SMS or Email, it was easy to work with with written communication across the phases.
They also took care of the permits and approvals from HOA to City/County approvals.
Also helped in financing with low APR that helped in replacing my electric bill with this but also get value for money.
Overall, great company to work with and quality of service.
As for the maintenance, though there were initial hiccups in reaching the team, once I did, they did great. Proper follow ups and estimated time of completion and the issue is resolved with minimal effort from me.

The first thing I noticed and liked was the initial contact; me being totally ignorant on how the solar process works with your home and your energy provider was explained it in detail more then once, Mike made SURE I understood everything and if I had questions a few months later he took the time to explain it patiently and said to contact him anytime.
Second: I was able to follow the installation from beginning to end step by step.
Third: The installers were fast, accurate and left NO mess on the property and one of the installers gave me some very useful information on saving energy even with solar panels.
Fourth: The solar panels are not visible from the street.
Fifth: I AM COMPLETELY SATISFIED!

I heartily recommend, without ANY reservation, the sales, service, installation, and follow-up of ION Solar! Since my first system installation in 2020, and the additional panels installed in early 2024, my electric bill has plummeted from over $350/month average to less than $100/month [and most of THAT has been the additional ‘fees and add-ons from the power company].
The system generation and monitoring is easy, and I can see/track trends depending on the weather; daily, weekly, and monthly displays make monitoring easy to understand.
The ONLY problem I’ve ever experienced was a blow fuse … and that was quickly identified and rectified!
Without a doubt, installing with ION Solar has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I will probably be adding a system to my rental home in the not-too-distant future!
