Hi Marty, of America was recommended to us when we bought a homes several years ago. It became very cost-effective soon afterwards as the water heater went out within five days. Since then we’ve enjoyed Home Warranty Of AMERICA when various systems fail due to houses age. They’ve been efficient effective quick to respond. Provide good quality technicians and repairs are done without a hitch. Granted sometimes it takes a little time, but with patience, it’s worked out each time. Very happy to work with them.

We realized that our home, being older will have certain things crop up. After having the plan for about 10 months, our furnace stopped working. They say that you find out how good your insurance is when you see how they handle claims. We were very happy with the way that claim was handled. A few weeks ago our garage door opener stopped working. You set up a company to come out and do an inspection and make recommendations on what needed to be done. They did not show up for the appointment and we what’s the company app online and found that most people who commented on their. Service were very, just satisfied with them and even said that there were times when they made recommendations for things that did not even need to be fixed. You didn’t have any services in our area. But within a short time, you contacted a local company and arrange to have them become providers with your company.. That was very much appreciated and the claim from that point was completing right away.

Only thing I wish was different was asking what date and time works for the customer first before scheduling appointments with a technician. The seller of the home we purchased has had a home warranty on it for several years and it goes through 2027. When the AC went out it wasn’t as quick as we had hoped to get it repaired. Communication process could be better. I’m a Realtor and have used y’all many time for sellers and buyers so glad I’m getting to see how the process works. The vendor that has helped us has been good.

I have had great luck with all of the service providers that they have sent. The only ding against them is when they tried to short-change me when my stove went out. It was a long back and forth to get compensated. Nevertheless, when my refrigerator went out, they were great and gave me replacement money very quickly.

Have good experience with them. I had one furnace fan I couldn’t get a repair man from them Cold day last Dec I called my own repair man but didn’t call them for approval until after the repair. My wife was ill and it was cold I couldn’t wait until Monday to get it repaired forgot to call for the repair they refused my $746 bill I sent a letter to the president to appeal it No reply no comment that was disappointing my faith in them was paying in advance three years great discount but just disappointed they haven’t responded. I have submitted two new claim and they have provided good service so far.

Our heat went out unexpectedly. We filed a claim and they were able to fix the furnace. However, that only lasted 2 weeks. The wait time for the 1st call was fast, within 2days. The 2nd call out with the same issue took about 4-5 days to be repaired, but it's working great now and for the money we saved, it was well worth the little wait we had. Thanks!

It was the company I went with when I purchased my house. They have gone to sh!t, things that actually should be considered an emergency repairs take weeks and end up causing further issues. For example, my AC went out took them three days to get somebody here ( I’m in Texas and it was the start of summer so I’ll let you guess how hot it was) about two days to have repaired( because the company came later then they said they would so of course they would have to come back the next day with the part that they could’ve gotten the same day if they came early enough) . They fixed what they could left and then my AC system was filled with algae blooms from being down for the 5-6 days, so I had to pay another company to come clean it. They went from doing their job to providing half ass services. Don’t recommend using them. I’m actually in the process of looking for a new company..

I did start a claim on a refrigerator and was surprised to hear about $75 service charge, but resolved problem and canceled the claim and got a prompt refund before proceeding. This was the worse company I have experienced. He came on a day that was not scheduled after agreeing to come on another day. Did not inspect the whole oven. Left after 15 minutes. when asked if he was ordering the part needed, he said he would not tell me the part and I had to pay first the $75. I tried to pay through Zelle, but it did not go through. He does not take a check.

Also denied my claim because the a/c system that was installed and been working since 1996 apparently has issues now because of “improper installation”. Yeah, right.

Disliked the fact that our scheduled appointment did not occur on the scheduled day. It wasn’t until the next day we had service. The issue we reported was not resolved based on the same issue reoccurring in a worse state. We called an AC service company that diagnosed the issue and fixed it. In total we laid a $75 fee to 24/7 AC and over $950 to get our air conditioner checked out and repaired. Very disappointed with HWA and the 24/7 AC company.

Having finally dealt with a significant claim (full HVAC replacement), I can see where the money is made by HWA. Paying $925 for a warranty with a $5000 cap on all systems means the money line is always on HWA. A rusted out, leaking coil required a FULL HVAC system replacement, but HWA only approved an internal coil (R-22) replacement, allowing HWA to dodge from having to pay for a whole EPA-compliant (R-454B) system. I was also wholly unaware HWA is allowed to replace brand name, premium, American-made (Lennox / Rheem) components with builder-grade, Chinese components. Entirely unacceptable. Long story short, is we paid $9969 for a brand-new, EPA-compliant Rheem system, and HWA covered $890 ($550 for coil install labor, and $340 for a Chinese builder-grade 9 SEER coil) Before this, I renewed for an additional year of coverage, but I am cancelling my policy as a result of this horrendous experience.

I am very disappointed in the lack of follow up from customer service. Further, the quality of vendors has significantly dropped. It is difficult to get a response from the vendors. The last three vendors did not show up on time and did not give a courtesy call to give an explanation or reschedule. On those 3 instances I waited for over 4 hours each time and when I called they warranty company to follow up I got the run around and was told " to wait a while longer because maybe they were on the way". There seems to be no respect for people's time. I have had this warranty for YEARS and the value for the literally thousands of dollars that I have spent on it, is no longer there. I will not renew this warranty once it is up for renewal this time.

Just had my water heater blow at 1am. It was terrible. I contacted HWA they got a plumber to my house really quickly, the next day. I was actually surprised. The following day had the install. The only thing that I would criticize is the costs that weren't covered. I'm paying for the diamond plan, everything should be covered. Again, I understand there can be incurred costs but having the premium plan should reduce those costs. Otherwise, I am very happy with the program and their response time. The plumber that was dispatched was incredible. Absolutely outstanding work. Extremely efficient.

I like the fast service and low costs. My brother has had the home warranty for almost 10 years. I myself have only had it for about five months now, but I called them on a couple of occasions and my heat went out when my heat went out. They told me it would cost just the service call $500. Meanwhile, Home Warranty Of America only cost me $85 to get it fixed.

Response time is slower than it should be. It seems contractors are short in my area. Received increased monthly fee without notification. When protest of fee too high it was accommodated down to reflect a reasonable amount, but the increase difference has yet to be refunded therefore, I will need to make another contact. Service has been slow and one call declined because of addiction cost on my part which I could not afford. The reason for the warranty is to avoid unexpected costs when breakdowns occur.

Multiple times, I ended paying over $1,000 for a repair/replacement. I asked for an itemized receipt of the repairs/replacement AC unit and could not get it from Home Warranty of America nor the vendor. Additionally, I was shamed for asking for one. The rep said "You are getting a new unit and I have seen bills for much higher." For another repair, HWA didn't want to pay the cost for the repair but offered a check to purchase the a new appliance which only covered 60% of the cost. I would have preferred a repair rather than the cost being passed on to me.

HWA insurance came with the home. I'm glad it did. The shower regulator was bad. He came in diagnosed it and replaced it no time fast. All for just the service call fee. They were very professional. I'm glad I have this insurance.

We have a Viking range and SubZero refrigerator and in the past HWA has had an issue finding qualified repair people BUT this time they sent Cummingham from Monticello to fix the range and he was a true professional and made the repairs on first pass.

My niece in another state is happy with them. I had them come out last year for a problem with my freezer…I was very unhappy until finally after 3 separate workers came out & were unable to fix the problem. Then a lovely young woman came out & solved it, ordered the part & came back in a few days to install the part. This year my oven wasn’t working & they sent a nice man out. He took it all apart, went out to his truck replaced the part & was finished in an hour. Thank you!
