The cost is too much for the visit. The last time I used it took two weeks for person to get here and then they had to change the date to a couple of days later. Guy came out, worked on it, said it needed a part, took two more weeks for the part to get in. So that's a month that went by without it being repaired. Slow to respond Takes a long time to get someone out to work.

They refused to replace my dishwasher pump because the wheel on the tray was broken, so it's not covered. So I buy a new dishwasher, thanks to them. Now when our refrigerator needs to be replaced, it's been 3 weeks and still nothing in a poor company.

RUN!!!! I truly wish I could give 0 stars. This company has terrible customer service. The technicians that come to your house are often arriving in their persona unmarked vehicles , no verification of their credentials, and often upcharge so you end up paying the same out of pocket without a warranty. We recently had our water heater go out. It took 5 days until the technician assigned could replace it. We were charged $800 for a new water heater and “modifications “, not just the $100 service fee. HWA only paid for the water heater and labor. They didn’t cover the pipes connecting the same standard water heater, pan, and other small items. I spoke with customer service and a case manager who would only recite the policy to me. I should have just paid out of pocket, gotten it replaced day 1, and picked a trustworthy company who insures their work. This is only one bad experience we have had. Unfortunately, there have been multiple other similar incidents. It is NOT worth the money! Do not buy into this home warranty company!

I had no heat. When the temperature here was zero, I waited 4 days for somebody to get back to me, and I had no heat in my house and we're in our late 60s. And I just moved here 3 months ago, so I bought a house but now was in this repair and waiting 4 days was unacceptable. Then when the person came, they had to leave and evaluate the situation. So I was still without heat. My warranty will be up in July and I would never recommend it. I'm telling the realtors to not use it either, it's not a perk, and it doesn't help the new homeowner at all.

Recently I was scamned by HWA. They made me pay a double deductible by splitting into two one claim without talking to me first. I made an e l ectrical claim and after the technician told them the cost involved, they decided to split the claim into 2 to force me to pay 2 separate deductible in irder for me to pay 2/3 of the total cost. Too bad.

terrible. they schedule appointments that is not consistent with the appointments that the 3rd party service provider had scheduled (multiple times). Appointments then get cancelled without me knowing about it and have to reschedule all over again. They also wont get me a technician for several days after an incident has occurred (on multiple claims) The level of communication just really sucks

Home Warranty of America service is very slow. They do not accept priority or emergency calls. I had a hot water heater that went out and it was out for more than a week. I ended up having to purchase my own hot water heater and have it installed myself I will not be renewing, my service with Home Warranty of America when it expires.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. I made 3 claims in 3 years, and had to fight every time. It took 7 weeks for them to get someone out to fix my garage door, then they denied my claim. A week later they approved it, but I had already paid the company the entire bill. I still haven't gotten reimbursed. My a/c blower fan quit. They denied that claim also by saying it wasn't normal wear and tear. They finally gave me 400 bucks on a 1500 dollar bill. I pay by the year and they won't reimburse me for the rest of the year so as soon as it expires I am never ever gonna use or recommend them to any one.

They go out of their way to deny a claim, even if it falls in line with your policy. When you call in to discuss it, the "customer service" staff are often not friendly and NOT customer oriented. They have fine print in reference to your policy that basically backs them out of having to cover the most common issues, ESPECIALLY when it comes to plumbing issues. Today I had to be the intermediary between them and the plumbing company, because HWA refused to reach out to the company for additional clarification on a claim, saying its not their responsibility to clarify obvious misunderstandings, and if the repair company wants to clarify a diagnosis, I had to call them back (a fourth time) and tell them to contact them (for an additional time) and request them to review the obvious misunderstanding. Even the case manager admitted there was a misunderstanding, but he said they aren't going to pursue clarification. In conclusion, DO NOT use Home Warranty of America. They are cheap, unprofessional, and liars.
