First American Home Warrant is great. One complant. When the appliance is fix and them there is a problem you should bring the same company that fix is in the past. I am having trouble with my heater which you paid to install last year. I went to your website and reported a problem and you did not bring out the same company that installed it.

Our home's previous owner left us the warranty and I renewed it. We have had 2 services and both were with our air conditioning. Pleased with the handling of both as well as the contractor. What I was not please with is the fact that we had to pay several thousand of our own money when the new air conditioning unit was installed. These fees were "upgrades" from original unit. I would like FAHW to note this fees boldly so customers can see them and not be surprised. Otherwise, pleased with the warranty

Adequate company and service. There are Pros and Cons with any warranty service. You can get repairs done for a fraction of out of pocket expenses---BUT, you may have to deal with longer appointment schedule times--and warranty services will always utilize the cheapest repair/service options first, before progressing to more costly or complex repair options. If you, for example, need a new A.C., replacing it with a new unit will be the companies LAST OPTION---only after trying every other repair option to an older unit and having these options fail. In the long term, you will save (out of pocket expenses), but you have to deal with longer tedious repair schedules and the warranty companies money saving bureaucracies. Or you can bypass a warranty company, contract a serviceman yourself--pay 100% out of pocket, but get faster more efficient service. Just depends on what you're personally willing to compromise on. I have low to medium income, so although a warranty service can have tedious and frustrating aspects...it still turned out to be a better option for me (security of out of pocket costs being a fraction of what they would cost without a warranty), vs having a major appliance bill repair that you have to cover 100% of parts and labor.

My air conditioning stopped blowing cold air. I filed a claim online, which was quite easy. It took a few days to get a technician out (it is a busy, hot August in Nevada). He diagnosed the problem and submitted to the insurance company. Things got confused, the work ticket was closed out without the work being done, but fortunately First American sent me an email asking how they did, and when I told them they had closed without fixing it, they jumped on it. Within a week they authorized the repair and the AC is working now with a new condenser. There was a $1,200 total cost, but the repair would have cost about $8,000. So, good value for the money. fortunately, my home has 3 AC zones, so being without the air conditioning for a few weeks of 100-degree weather was tolerable. I would give them 5 stars for customer service and the AC company they sent, but had to take a star off because it took a while.

I was told two differnt resolutions pertaining to my microswave llsince April 3rd, 2022. Two technicians installed a replacement microwave and took the old away, So everything is finished with the miocrowave and I thank you so much.icians came to the house and looked at the microwave and went to get parts. Both times the microwave did not work. The second tech said that he was going to put in for a new microwave to be installed. About 3 weeks after that I received an email from First Home Warranty that I would not be receiving a new microwav3e but that theyt were going to order parts to have a technician install to see if the microwave willl work. I heard nothing since them until Wednesday of this week when two guys said they have a microwav3e to be installed. I was so ssurprised. They installed the microwave and took the old one away. ame and proceeded to get parts to ssee if the microwave will work. Both times it did not work. The second technician said that it was the mother board as no electricity was passing through. He told me that he waws going to put in for the new microwave. I rate my personal contact ROB with 5 stars, and I rate the Plumbing guy VICTOR from Ideal Plumbing with 5 stars. I have to say that the phone service at general customer service needs work. They are lacking comprehensive training. I was on hold too long, one disconnected and did not call back. Chrome would not sign me in, and after changing my password, which I did not want to do, I got signed in on Safari. Once on Safari I could not locate my contract and neither could the gal who helped me on the second phone call. All I could see was a SAMPLE contract. Oh, the CHAT system is useless.

In the areas related to handling my requests for services, assigning contractors, keeping me updated and every issue related to my service requests... I rate First American at the highest level! However, my only complaint is related to the promotion for referring others to First American. I have referred several customers to First American. However, because the only way that First American tracks referrals is by these individuals following an online link, neither I, nor the other customers were given the benefit rewards of the promotion. Because most new customers are going to opt to call to speak with a representative before they enlist First American’s services, they are not going to utilize the link. I think there should be another way for new customers to tell you who referred them. Otherwise, it gives the appearance that the promotion was never really intended to provide the promised rewards. Because I have been a customer for so long, I do not think this to be the case. However, newer customers might not be convinced.

All things considered... My only complaint is that the telephone call center personnel do not speak clear English. One would guess that the call center is not a US company and not located in the USA. I would prefer FAHW put Americans to work rather than other countries. My only experience this year took two companies to fix. The first one made three trips and failed to notice that a wire was disconnected. Instead they blamed rodents for eating the insulation. While that did happen, it was not the cause of the problem and they gave up. The second company found a disconnected wire and reconnected it - problem solved. 4 stars only.

Until very recently, I would rate them 5 stars, but their customer service has gone down in the past year. This could be related to the COVID epidemic, but it still is frustrating to have to wait for more than 40 minutes for someone to answer your calls. It's extremely frustrating when you've been waiting for more than 40 minutes and then you get disconnected. My most recent experience, in which I had to have my tankless water heater replaced, would have been fine if the new water heater hadn't stopped working the day after it was installed. The plumber that installed it said it was due to an obstruction in our vents, and because vents aren't covered by our warranty, I had to pay $250 for a vent company to check out our vents to tell us that there was nothing wrong with them. We had to go three days without hot water, and I could not get anyone from First American on the phone to explain the situation. Finally, I was able to get the plumbing company to send someone else to check out the water heater and he was able to fix it. It turns out that the error message on the unit did indicate a problem with our vents, but it was an incorrect error message. 3 days without hot water and $250 for nothing. That's on top of the almost $1000 I had to pay extra for installation of the new water heater because it required some extra work not covered by my warranty. Sheesh.

They have excellent service, but on the higher ticket repairs they allow the contractors to charge so many fees that the repair still becomes too costly. Some are BS fees. Like "The county might require that we have to make changes and bring your system to current standards. Therefore, we need to charge an additional $500." and.... 1st AM won't pay for this... or this... Well, they weren't even around for the county inspection to tell them there needed to be changes. I was the one who had to beg for the HVAC company to send the required docs to get the permit signed off. I was there for the repairs and there was no "county permit required" upgrading done. If First American just allows their sub contractors push extra costs on the insured that's not right. Providing the hardware, that 1st AM buys in bulk straight from the manufacturer is great and I commend them on that business strategy)... .But, limiting the replacement coverage to just direct install and hardware costs leaves the insured holding the bag on the balance of the charges, which are pretty steep. On smaller items, their service is great. But, even with the Eagle Premier package which includes all knobs wheels etc... They wouldn't replace my fan knobs when replacing the fan motor, without the worn out knobs in hand. Nowhere in the policy does it state that you have to have the worn out knobs to get them replaced.

It would be nice to call and actually get a person. Things don't always fit in their cookie cutter options so you waste a lot of time going in circles before you finally get ahold of someone. The first 2 times my claims went well and they went through efficiently. This morning I tried to create a service for my AC and they were going to dispatch a company that has very poor ratings. I wanted to cancel so I could get a more refundable vendor and they did help with that. I think they need to vet their vendors. I think they need to do a little bit of research about who they're going to be sending out to their customers homes and if those people have a good reputation.

I think they do a pretty good job but it's a little bit hard to manage. Often times there's not someone in our area to use for contracting but I think they try to make it work. We had a refrigerator door that would not automatically shut so we called them and it was one of those times that they didn't have someone on contract for that type of refrigerator but they allowed us to use another contractor. And then there was some discussion about what was going to be covered and what not. The confusing part was I couldn't remember which way it went but they kept talking about what wasn't covered and they didn't seem to match very well. My only other comment was that the booklet that was sent to me seems to be a different version from what the customer service person was talking about in terms of things that are covered and not. There's a very lengthy list of things that aren't covered.

They're pretty good. They don't always follow up but you get call backs for appointments and send me an email saying the appointment was made so that's good. One time my air conditioner stopped working and I called and they sent somebody out. He worked on it and I had to call back a few days later because it started leaking. And that was because the technician didn't get the pan set right so I called another company just to verify. The customer service does a pretty good job. They call and give me what I want or what I need and I usually get a confirmation call no later than the next day so that's a good thing for me.

We've had a couple of claims and they've been very responsible and quick. There was a couple of issues when we first bought the house. A couple of weeks in, the furnace and heating air conditioning went out and we called them and they sent somebody out to replace the unit so it it took about a week or so. Unfortunately, the contractor that they hired to do it everything talked about buying a new thermostat for three hundred and some dollars and come to find out it was only about thirty dollards and it was the wrong one for the unit. And it wasn't working and we ended up paying like two thousand dollars. We had some other people come out and they were the ones that actually found the issue and told me some of the issues and they got it fixed working great. When I called First American, the first contractor they sent out to us was not reputable and they just basically said too bad, we can't do anything about it.

First of all the assigned service company takes two days to respond after the claim is registered with FAHW. Then it takes 7 days to come and evaluate. Then it takes few more days for approval by FAHW. Then after few days the work is done. So it takes about 2 weeks before the problem is fixed. This is ridiculous inspite of having a high plan with FAHW. Very disappointing.

The caliber of contractors is mostly poor. I had a VERY DIFFICULT EXPERIENCE with replacing my air conditioning unit. Contractor lied continuously and ordered wrong unit. Took over two months during 115 degree heat to replace it. They broke ceiling in my closet and First American would not help me. I fought contractor to get it fixed and it was redone poorly. Two years later I am still dealing with the consequences of that contractor.

Fortunately, I have only had to use it 3 times in several years. It is worth it to me to be able to make one phone call to have something repaired or replaced. The last time I made a call, I found out that the appliance was not broken and cancelled the call. The repairman was very cooperative and did not give me a hard time; even suggested that I call hm back after I checked. I appreciated that.

It's quick and easy to file a claim with First American Home Warranty. All you have to do is click a button. The contractors usually do a good job with contacting you within an appropriate time period. I have only experienced an issue once regarding the repair of my fridge. It took a while for repair as I was told the contractor was awaiting receipt of a part.

Instead I have to be calling the companies that they randomly select to perform the work on my home, Checking that the approvals are in and the work gets scheduled in a timely manner. They take care of business and get you a company to fix your problem but it is so slow sometimes.. takes week or better.. I had a problem with my oven two years ago and it had to be replaced.. took two months or month and a half to get it resolved.. brought wrong oven first time then had to wait for next one etc on and on but finally got the right one and it is great..

There's always room for improvement. I was pleased with Accord Appliance service but waited a long time on hold trying to schedule an appointment as well as a follow-up appointment. When I did start to open my first file, they were going to find me plumber within an allotted amount of time. When that time came, I got an email saying I needed to find my own contractor. I had plumbing backing up, and it was an emergency. I am giving 4 stars because they refunded my deposit because I ended up canceling the order because it was cheaper than I had feared. They were very helpful for that resolution.

Hasn't let us down until this time. The contractors have always been really good. But this time its been 1 month since our initial call. Contractor took 2 weeks to get out here, then two more weeks to get the part. We then needed to move the time for our appointment day because I got a COVID vaccine appointment and now they have moved it another week.

I went all most a month with out AC the contractor was using text messages in stead of call so I all ways noticed late so I ended up spending money on a window unit and when the contractor finally came out it was raining and RS so the next day I spent money out of my own pocket to have my AC fixed it's a 24 year old system I spend more money on fixing it and it's not cost worthy I asked the contractor wouldn't not be better to replace it he responded by saying it's not up to him he made absolutely no effort and I instill paid the 75 dollars and got no receipt

Because they are good, but they need to work on their communication with each other and with their clients. I say this because, a team member forgot to schedule our appointment, until I called to follow up with them on it. Also, we were given a 12:00-5:00 window, and next thing I know, the technician was ringing my doorbell at 10:30 in the morning. He informed me that he was told by First America Home Warranty that he can come early, but I was never notified or contacted to ok that.

the online app is good enough to rely on that your service needs will be looked on to by their pprofessionals and they will get some service tech company to contact you. unfortunately, not all service companies like GE have good hard working technicians like that of the excellent service of Appliance Tech Now. I have been with them for over 10 years now. I've stayed with them because of their reliability. My AC went out. It was a bad battery and they fixed it within 3 to 4 days and I was very pleased. A lot of times they use their computers when assigning work orders. I would like to choose those places that have a higher rating so a lot of times I'll ask them if they could relook who they are sending the work order too and a lot of times they will do that. Maybe they should look at the ratings because there are some they have recommended that have been at like a 2 or a 1.

I work in real estate, so I have been around home warranties for a long, long time, and I've just found that First American has the best service with the best response time when there is a problem. I have used them for years. Every now and then we have trouble getting something to happen quickly but most of the time they're very responsive. It gives me peace of mind, especially with an older home, that they'll come and make repairs or replace things if necessary.

After reviewing warranty options online, I found First American Home Warranty. They've always been responsive to my needs. Sometimes they take longer than I wanted to get service, but generally I've been very pleased. I've had a number of problems with my dryer. In each case they don't have a specific agent and they've authorized me to find my own. Then I'm quickly reimbursed for any cost.

I used the warranty twice once for the water heater leaking. They came and replaced the water heater then told me they needed to do some upgrades to bring the water heater up to code. I had to pay extra for that then they said they needed to install a pressure regulator because my water pressure was too high and so there was another service charge for that. Another time they repaired an electrical problem I had in a very short time. It's hard to get through to them but when you do I think they are pretty customer focused.

Several times I have used First American Home Warranty and it's always a good experience. They respond quickly. There is always room for improvement but they seem to get somebody out there quickly and they have a good quality of supplier and the work always seems to be high quality. My water heater was leaking the last couple of weeks and I had a good experience with First American and the vendor that came out.

So far they seem to provide a good service, we haven't had any problems yet so we keep renewing. One of their plumbers we had problems with, it was very difficult to work with and First American was good and intervened and we got the work completed finally. I wish it was easier to get a new company from the beginning and there was more choices in my area.

I had a septic system problem and they came out. Although they did not have someone that works on the septic system, I had to find somebody and I paid for it and First American reimbursed me. I like First American Home better than several of the other companies that I've had in the past and I'm more than likely to pick them up again at the end of this term.

I've used the warranty numerous times. We had to use it recently for our pool pump and the gentleman fixed it and everything's fine. We've had some technicians that came out that were bad. I did speak with the manager about pest control which was not very friendly or nice. I would suggest more empathy from the people and managers that customers speak to. I actually had to hold for thirty minutes to speak to him.

Most of the time, the service is really good and get things done quick. I have been in my home for months and had to call them three or four times and they have been pretty good at getting things done for me. The first time I needed something with my dishwasher and they got someone out here right away, which was really good, but the second time, it took several days before somebody came.

I think they are trustworthy. They've always been really good about providing the service when needed. I've had two instances in the last month where I've used them. I was okay with what they did with my electric range but not my water heater because I didn't hear from them for over a week for an appointment. It would be nice to have the option to choose your own people.

I call customer support a lot and I am always able to talk to somebody and they try to at least help with our problems. Most of our issues have been taken care of quickly except the heating and dishwasher took a long time. It took a month to get the dishwasher done and I think it could have been much quicker but every time I called First American, they were very helpful and tried to get it moving. I think there should be quicker communication and they should check in with their customers to see where the contractors are.

I needed to use it for a dishwasher for my air conditioning and for my furnace. First American was very good and contacted someone immediately. Some of the people that First Ameriance contracts with are less than disrable and their ability to take care of your case and they aren't able to come to your home. The furnace wasn't working and it was in January. I had to wait a week. I spent a day working going back and forth between the company and First American to get someone to come out.

We are paying monthly for service but since we haven't had any problems lately with plumbing or other situations in the home, thank God, I feel that the fee we are paying monthly is somewhat going to waste. Could go for a bill or so.

basically ive had good experiences with fahw but my last episode my electrical problem was denied and they never called me to let me know...when the contractor came he told me...then i had to pay him full price to fix my flourencent lite.

Good response to service calls but when my A/C needed repair the first person who came to my house had absolutely no idea what he was doing. I had to kick him out of my house. Second one was good. Took a very long time to get replacement items but there were a lot of supply issues. Very happy with the final resolution.

Generally very responsive to problems and has provided us with good coverage for a couple major appliances. Had a little difficulty getting reimbursed quickly and had to wait on hold for an hour to speak to someone. But we are still pleased with the coverage.

I have been disappointed with the lack of air conditioner repair companies in our area. When our ac has gone out, I have had to wait several days just for a service tech to come to town because they did not have enough business in the area to pay for a single repair need.
