They're always very courteous and they explain a lot of things thoroughly: how the appointment will go and how the process works. If I had to pay out of pocket it would be more than what I pay yearly. When it really gets down to it, you're using it for peace of mind, and it's worth it. They give a speedy response to claims and the vendors that they send out are professional and they get the job done.

Starting the process online was very simple and smooth. The website was not so intuitive to be able to track the status of my claim. Whoever they used was flexible and helpful although it got scheduled initially with no contact to me and what I had going on. I did have to call HWA to get them to move on an approval the repair company was waiting on. Overall relatively pleased, although my dishwasher still does not work 100%. It wasn’t working at all, now it washes but does not seem to dry the dishes well.

Too many unnecessary inconveniences. For example, I want to repair my A/C was off, so I had to spend four days without an A/C in the home because Home Warranty of America kept asking for things that they didn't need. For example, the HVAC was low in refrigerant, the refrigerant you cannot find in state, the R22, which is banned. And I say they have a look at evidence of a leak, and then they ask for the video of the inspection of my home, which on your website that is not required, but I have the inspection and they just kept asking for things. I mean at a point they ask for the video from the technician after he submitted all evidence required. That's kind of the thing that for me was weird. They provided you with everything you ask and now you want a video when you know there's not a video. The technician was great. He did a great job, he's very professional. They kept asking for things which were not possible. Thank God the technician is knowledgeable with the warranty company, so he knew how to handle it.

HWA responded to our call quickly and professionally. A company was chosen to do an evaluation and the technician found the problem quickly and efficiently. The issue was not as bad as it could have been. Our A/C only needed a small part. Unfortunately, the technician did not return that day with the part. We had to wait the weekend and it was on of the hottest on record. On Monday, the issue was fixed to our satisfaction.

We had to use them one time, not long after we moved in. We had a leak, that was leaking in the basement and it was coming from the bathroom, the walls inside the bath, the bathroom pipes, and they were really good, they came out when we called and they were here the next day. The guy did a good job.

They were recommended to me but I did run into a couple of issues. I thought my freezer was going to give me some grease and I called on that and they said we didn't have that coverage and I said yes, I did. Well, and I did have my paperwork showing that when I started with American, with Home Warranty, but somewhere along the line when they updated something they had taken that part off. So the person I talked to and I made all my notes so I have access to her was the resolution department and she went ahead and she got it taken care of for me to where it was put back on. I had actually taken it out originally to make sure I had the extra refrigerator and freezer covered. I'll stay with them for a little while. If I need them and they can get the service out here that I need, that's great. But if I run into any issues because of them, I will find another company. There are others out there.

They don't get back to you when you ask them to get back to you and their English was not that understanding. They helped me, but there's just no communication. I had to call two or three times in order for them, you know, to give me the answer or to update me on what's going on. The tech personnel that came was just amazing.

I have called numerous times to try to get a copy of a receipt for the purchase of the air conditioner and I'm told for whatever reason they don't provide it. I paid for it and the only answer I could get is that I could use my credit card statement to prove I paid for it which is ridiculous because every company provides a receipt for purchases. The technicians are very good, they worked hard and completed the job.

They are really good on follow up. Right before COVID, the the air conditioner in the garage went out and we were just at the beginning of shutting down and they were really digital about finding somebody that could come out and get it taken care of. They're just really good, a reputable company. They're like the second, well, they're like the third one we've had. They're the best so far, so we've stayed with them.

Very responsive and have answers to all the questions, so that's helpful. Just recently we had a plumbing issue in the house about maybe a month ago and we had some leaking and whatnot, so they were able to at least fix the plumbing issue and then we had to do the restoration part, but it worked out.

Our water pump and our well went out and that's when your company's thing was down, service was down so it took a long time and then they wanted me to have the the workmen stand there and wait till they approved this before they did the work, which was really uncalled for. And I sent them all the information on what they did and they denied the claim.

I've used my warranty a number of times. You know, everything always gets fixed, and it gets fixed well. Sometimes it takes a while to get a technician in, but I don't think that's something to be unexpected. I've had pretty much good experiences with them. I've used it for my air conditioner replaced recently and they did a great job. Sometimes it's difficult to get ahold of people like you have to leave messages and stuff.

Communication was not great. They were unable to get a tech to service our AC so we called our own tech to come out and went through the reimbursement process. I had to call multiple times to try and get information about the status of our claim. They would not give me specifics on what was covered and what was not covered when I was trying to work with a tech to get my air conditioning fixed. I had to wait until the tech submitted the cost breakdown to see what they would approve. They only gave me an approved dollar amount and that was a couple thousand dollars less than the amount submitted and no explanation as to what was covered and what was denied. It was very frustrating. In the end I did get a check for the dollar amount they approved. They definitely make you jump through hoops to get it.

They're pretty good in answering and understanding what exactly is going on and suggesting the right help on the right time. Only thing is once they suggest, from there it takes a long time to get some of the third party to come. But otherwise, when they take the calls and everything, they're very professional and they really understand what exactly is going on in the particular complaint.

It took over a month before my refrigerator was fixed. First, I was told that a service person was coming out but didn't show up at all. I called that company and was told they did not work with Home Warranty. I called Home Warranty and they apologized and said we would be reassigned. After about a week of not hearing from HW, I called and was told that they would expedite my claim. After about 2 weeks I called again and was told that I could contact a service company and and pay them and then after that company submitted a claim to HW, Home Warranty would pay me. I told the person from HW that if I did that, "why would I need Home Warranty"? He said he would have someone lined up within 24 hours. He did. I was very pleased with the person you sent and would highly recommend their company. Home Warranty, I think you need to get on the ball!!

I have three big problems with HWA. 1. You don't let me set up my own appointment with the company that is coming out. I used to be able to do that. Now after I make a claim, I get an email with an appointment time. If it does not work for me, then I can call the company and change the appointment. This is a waste of time. 2. I can't request a company. I use a pool company to take care of my pool that also takes HWA . (Blue Star Pool) They usually alert me that something is wrong before I know it. When I go to make the claim I have problem when I say I want Blue Star Blue to do the repair. This is something I was able to do without a problem awhile ago. 3. Costumer service reps are hard to understand on the phone.

Recently had a claim for my microwave. Technician was assigned promptly...however, he identified the issue and recommended replacing the microwave. He waited on hold for almost an hour so that he could get approval from HWA. He left. HWA did approve me for a new microwave, however, I am still waiting on the egift card from Lowe's and was informed that it could take up to 30 days. There should be a more efficient way to process these claims/services.

We just had a hot water heater replaced and it took them 10 DAYS and $525.00 dollars of my money to get it done. The CSC’s barely speak English and are rude as heck. Try getting a manager on the line and that just doesn’t happen. We pay good money on this policy along with always paying ahead of the due date. They ripped us off and made our lives miserable for 10 days. I tried to get the plumber to give me an itemized list of the so called not covered items and he stated that’s not how it bid it and I let him know that’s how I pay it. We are seriously thinking about changing warranty companies after 10 years.

My initial experience with HWA was not good. The initial repair entities they selected were either nonresponsive or difficult to schedule. This may have been an "after effect" of Covid. But it took almost 7 months to find a plumbing contractor that was responsive and then there seemed to be a "disconnect" between them and HWA that took weeks to resolve. Finally, when the job was completed, I had to pay addition cost for the replacement faucet (approximately 85% of the total cost), and the total cost of an access panel to replace the wallboard that had to be cut open to affect the replacement of the faucet itself. Our total out of pocket cost was almost 50% of the cost of "the warranty). Yes, the total cost of the repair may have been close to $1,000.00, and the plan cost $700.00, but it took three visits by the plumber and multiple calls to HWA to get the job done. However, the repair of the dishwasher problem took only one call and one visit to get it working properly and the cost did not exceed the initial estimation fee. Would we contract with them again? Not certain; perhaps reluctantly.

I've had good experiences and bad experiences. Most of the time it's just wonderful and they send out good people. I had a lot of problems regarding a refrigerator that turned out to be unfixable. The refrigerator should have been replaced, but it wasn't available and so I was offered a lower amount of money than it cost me to replace the refrigerator with equal with equal features. It also took from Christmas to Easter to get things done.

So far I'm very happy with them. They are very prompt. It doesn't take a long time to get them on the phone. The two occasions that I've had to call them and have them send somebody over have been wonderful. One of them was to do a rekey of the locks and the other one was the plumber coming to speed up the bathroom drain.

They've been good. It's a little slow sometimes, but it's adequate. The last time we had to use it was for the A/C. A couple of weeks ago I put in the claim online. They sent me a message back that they couldn't find a vendor. So I went to try to find my own vendor and I guess by the time I found my own vendor they had found a vendor. It just took a little longer than I would have liked.

The technician came to our home, discerned the problem with our dishwasher and said a key part needed to be ordered. While it took weeks for the part to arrive and the technician to come and install the part, the HWA system worked. The problem with our dishwasher was solved.

Even if the claim is approved, you spend hours and hours and hours on the phone between the service technicians and the warranty company and the customer service people just trying to fight to get what you need to have done. It takes way too long months I’ve gone without AC multiple times just to get something fixed and here lately, every single claim I have submitted in the last year has been denied even when it’s clearly in the documents that it’s something that should’ve been covered but it’s because the service provider wrote it up in a way that they denied it and the appeals process is a joke completely- they just listen and then say sorry not changing the outcome

I cannot honestly say. I have only had a couple of claims through the years. Fortunately, they were not for anything major and my only concern is that you never know how long it is going to take to resolve any issues you may be having. The contractors you must deal with are not top line contractors and you are sort of at their mercy as to when your repair is going to take place.

Overall, it is a good service for people who are on a tight budget and don't have a lot of time and resource to chase down their own contacts for home maintenance and repair. It can be challenging if you have an unusual requirement (my AC is on the 2nd story roof); it takes patience and some "extra" communication. But so far, all my problems have been solved.

First off, for some reason, I think the call center is overseas. It's very hard to understand the people that you're trying to explain these issues to with your home. Secondly, from what I've gathered with the few claims I've put in, is that they just call any random person and then whoever gets back to them and decides to take the job, takes it. I feel like if you're going to have people come, they should be reputable companies that you already work with, not just anybody who responds. I had one guy come, I paid him the $75 fee, and he said he'd be back to reinstall something. I never got a hold of him ever again, he wouldn't answer my calls, and this and that, so I had to make another appointment. Obviously, Home Warranty made it right and paid for it, but it just seems like they just call everybody in the phone book, and whoever answers it comes.

They're quick to respond with everything. I'm under cancer care right now and the downstairs toilet broke loose from the ring. I called in on Friday and there was someone out here by Monday or Tuesday to fix it because it was the weekend. So I was fine with that. It's definitely worth the money.

When they came, they did a good job. Everything went smoothly. When they couldn't find somebody, it took me a lot of calls and a lot of time. I didn't get reimbursed the full price of the repair and I will never do that again with them. I will never find my own person. They will have to find a person for me. So that part was disappointing. It was disappointing I had to make so many calls to get my reimbursement. After three months, it was approved in December, I finally got it in March.
