They actually respond quickly to claims. They have saved us a lot of money repairs needed on the home we bought. Good communication too. This is a huge contrast to other warranty companies we have had.

I used re-key my locks on my new home. That transaction was fine. A month later, I had problems with my water heater and American Home Warranty said they would take care of it. Since I am a new home owner, my realtor called back and Home Warranty did not take care of it. Your staff does not know what is covered.

They are good but I have problem with their updating of their customer's renewal of policy in their automated answering. I had cancelled their policy about 3yrs ago, then reinstated it within a couple of months, but the answering auto phone doesn't recognize my policy. I have reminded their Customer service again and again for last couple of years but no, it has not yet corrected it.

Although things were a bit bumpy getting started, we have had positive experiences with our referral companies. The time between putting in a request and getting a response is minimal. We have have reputable companies with competent workers. So far we are very happy that we have First American Home Warranty on our side.

Solid coverage, however their customer support is sometimes hard to work and hard to understand. They also don't seem to track dispatched contractors leaving it to he homeowner to deal with contractors who don't show up or change their appointment at the last minute after the customer has had to wait for more than a week.

After being in our home for 1 week, the hot water heater went out. I called set up a service call online. There was no one locally to service our needs and we went 4 days without hot water. There were multiple calls to the call center, 2 different businesses scheduled, and then conveniently overbooked and didn't bother to call us and tell us they were not coming. It was incredibly frustrating. Repair services do not want to spend 1 hour or more driving (one way) to Stephenville, TX when they can stay in the metroplex and make more money. Please secure local businesses to service the needs of your customers. I gave 2 stars because of the nicest call center representative that tried for almost an hour to locate an alternate provider after we had a no show. He could not locate anyone that was willing to show up soon.

When my claim was submitted, I received an email from them stating we're reviewing your claim and will let you know. This usually takes 2 to 3 days. After 5 days I had to call to find out oh your claim was approved. They ordered my new air conditioning unit, it finally arrived after two weeks. I haven't been able to use my home office in over a month.

Its all about the charges for Freon. Its only about $5-$7 a pound on internet, but some companies for other home warranty companies will charge up to $75 per pound. 1st American does not let that happen!!!!

It was a hassle trying to get my washer and dryer taken care of. The vendors they use are NOT competent. Then when a replacement was needed and we picked a less expensive model, they wouldn't honor that and gave us way less than the washer was worth. We didn't want the same one, clearly it wasn't a good machine. The people were nice, but my dryer still sings!

When a freezer dies, what do you do to save $800.00 worth of food. You can not wait for the ins. company to say yea or nay. The service company had decided it was not repaiable. You go out and replace it quickly. If we had waited for the ins. WE WOULD HAVE DOUBLED OUR LOSS.

It's changed a lot. Over the last year, I think there is more interaction between customer service and the customers. More interaction and follow up which is good. Recently, I used it for a pool, air conditioning, and a water heater. They got to me probably within a couple days it was resolved. They are very prompt.

Sometimes it takes a minute. The last experience was great. I needed to use the warranty last week when my garbage disposal was leaking. The technician was here within a few days and all went well. Sometimes an appliance needs to be replaced and First American insists on repair instead of replacement.

I used it recently when my dishwasher died and they provided a replacement which was awesome. There was a little bit of miscommunication between them and the contractor so it took a little bit longer than it should have but they did cover it like they promised which is the most important.

They handle most things that go wrong. We used the warranty a bunch of times. AC service takes them too long to get out. Once our washing machine died. We did a cash out and bought a new one.

I had an experience with them recently where their provider wouldn't even try to tackle the problem. It was the second job that company had messed up with us. So I got someone else and had to pay out of my own pocket. When I wrote negative comments on the follow up service they called me and refunded me the money I had spent. We had another situation when they brought out an electrician and that guy was amazing. He stayed with it until he fixed it all. So I'd say it's a really mixed bag of who they send and how well they do.

My fridge went out and I called about getting it serviced. Since it was a secondary fridge so there was no rush it took probably 3 weeks for someone to come out and then it had to be replaced. The service through the company was fine except for having me wait that long. The company they used was not very customer motivated.

We had a water problem. The technician gave us incorrect information for the repair. We had to go outside at First American to have the repair done. When the repair was done a problem still was not solved and the repair that was recommended was unnecessary. It was a $700 mistake on First Americam's part of which they said they would reimburse us. They did not. We have been customers for almost 20 years. Sorely disappointed

We've used them for a few years now, and they are responsive to claim requests. We've had good results and hope to maintain that opinion. The dishwasher malfunctioned some years back and they were able to come quickly and make the replacement with little difficulty. I wish they would give us cash if we wanted to upgrade on the model.

Knowledgeable and easy to contact. I had a leak under my sink and they sent somebody out in a couple of days. A few week prior we used them for our air conditioning issue and the contractor tried to rip us off four hundred dollars and there was nothing First American could do.
