I paid 65.00 to AC tech that told us our AC was leaking and would report to Choice but reported that our AC was in good working condition. I don’t have 65.00 just to throw around. I tried to call the AC man but he did not answer, If you can’t give us 65.00 back then at least get us a credit for $65.00 and we can use it toward getting our garage door opener looked at as it’s not working right even though I put new batteries in it. Thanks

Found a reason not to even find a cause of a leak in my plumbing. I need a service that will do a maintenance call for each appliance once a year. It really has to be urgent with Choice. Going with someone else who meets my needs. I paid over $500 a year and got nothing!

The service guy was pleasant and somewhat knowledgeable. He tried to convince me that using a 12-foot snake was as good as a Roto-Rooter cutter for cleaning my drain of tree roots. The problem is still partially there as the toilet and shower drain better but are still slower that 6 months ago.

My first claim with my microwave was satisfactory. However I tried to reach a representative yesterday with a question about what “electrical” covers. I have a wiring problem in my condo where vanity, lights and closet, lights and laundry room lights go on and off, especially when using another household appliance such as the washing machine. I tried five times on your automated system to say electrical and could never get through, no matter what I said. I did leave a callback number and never heard from anyone.

My hvac went out in the middle of June one month into my home warranty. First they sent an hvac repair man that couldn’t speak any English, submitted testing results they requested to evaluate the claim for repair, submitted them incorrectly, and took one week to return to the home to resubmit the test results and did it incorrectly again. After 3 weeks of back and forth on the phone and through their reporting system, I was granted permission to get my own repair guy out. After submitting the documentation they requested, they told me my claim was in process. We are now 6 weeks into the process and they still haven’t approved my claim and have now shut down my claim. This is the worst experience I have had with any company.

My refrigerator started failing in February. In March I filed a claim with Choice. First Technician said it needed a new compressor and it was approved. I waited 2 weeks, no follow up. I called technician he said he was waiting for part and would install in a week. 2 more weeks, no contact. I had to call Choice 5 times to get them to send another tech company. Then next one didn't know how to work on. The third one said it needed a new compressor. Since the refrigerator was still barely cooling and running constantly, Choice closed the claim without telling me. They then made me pay another $75 to start a new claim. This time, GE repair was sent out and said it needed multiple parts. As per procedure, they would get authorization from Choice, which they received and ordered the parts. One part was on back order, so I started the waiting game again, GE kept pushing the part arrival date back from August, then September, now October. They sent a message to Choice that maybe I just should be cashed out to get a new unit. I never heard from Choice so I contacted them after a week. They told me that they never heard from me or their GE repair technician, so they closed that second claim out. This at best is harassment bordering on fraud.

CHW is the wurst at following up after Technician visit. My Air condition unit has bee out since 8/24/24 Tech made it out on Tuesday 8/27/24 and said there is a Freon leak in the line and I have to replace the entire unit. He never tried to find the leak. I called CHW and have yet to receive a call back. They tell you if you don’t leave a call back number the call will disconnect. This is crazy. It is very hot in TX and I need some answers sooner than later

When a customer with Choice Home Warranty opens a new claim, and that claim gets assigned to a vendor; if the vendor decides to cancel the appointment, then the customer should be moved as a priority to get reassigned a NEW vendor, very very quickly. Instead, choice home warranty puts the customer back down the BOTTOM of the queue and has to wait 48 hours for a new vendor accept, BEFORE they even make it to the customers house. This does not make ANY sense whatsoever. Terrible

Choice agreed to a settlement. After that it was all downhill I had to wait 29 days to get the replacement check so I could pay for a new refrigerator. They gave me all kinds of excuses for not being more prompt with the payment eg. Their company procedure. Try going without a refrigerator for that long, living out of a cooler. Not a good solution by Choice.

The Good is their monthly rate. The Bad is you can never talk to a live Customer Service Rep on the phone. Their customer service SUCKS! You ALWAYS have to leave a voice mail for someone to call you back. Sometimes it can talk an hour or even longer just to talk to someone so you can file a claim. The worst part is whatever needs fixed requires you having to WAIT at least 30 DAYS just to get a check from Choice in order to replace your old device. I needed to buy a new washing machine. My former home warranty company sent me a check to replace my item(s) within 3-7 days max. They also low ball you as well on your item they are giving you a check to replace. I'm definitely leaving Choice as soon as I receive my check & will be finding a better home warranty company.

Terrible experience Lack of communication and follow up, changed plumbers without telling me, you stated the part for bathroom was under warranty and you wouldn't replace it. IT WASN'T UNDER WARRANTY and how would you even know you never asked age of part and it wasn't under warranty..I HAD TO BUY PART MYSELF. I was without water to my house for a week and YOU DELAYED repairs. I had to keep calling then you made me submit and pay for 2nd claim though you didn't tell me this until I called again. The plumbers who finally fixed the issues were great though I had to communicate with them directly because you were hopeless. I paid for a 5yr coverage and I got treated like this TERRIBLE.

Everyone who showed up to repair my refrigerator and AC were more than great. Problem is that I believe there's still a major problem with the AC and it was my understanding that we were still waiting for approval. I have to turn off power to the unit to shut it down. Otherwise it continues to run non stop. I keep my thermostat at 80. Also, its not constant but there are times when you can hear it hum up/down. I will try contacting Choice about this.

The only negative thing was the timing. I didn’t like the missed appointment by the technician because one of my AC units stopped working and this is one the hottest summers ever. The following week an appointment was rescheduled and my AC was repaired promptly and cool air was blowing again.

It’s difficult to get ahold of anyone. Their system only operates on call backs and they surge call within 24 hrs. When they did,, there was an obvious language barrier and out made it difficult to convey the real issue. When all was says and done, it’s been weeks since my $1,100 dishwasher failed. They offered me a $250 gift card at first but we agreed to a $350 check. I still haven’t received the check and I likely won’t be renewing Choice in the future.

No direct contact with customer service. I also was not aware that issues needed to be brought to CS within 30 days. I had a problem with a service job and repair man would not return to complete it. Finally after speakjng to 3 reps, one CSR informed me I only had 30 days to complain. Issue was resolved to my satisfaction but took over 2 months.

My most recent call was for my AC. Living in AZ, ac is a must. It went out on Thurs 7/25. Temperatures in my house exceeded 92 degrees. I sent follow-ups and on Sunday the person said, well they only repair M-F. So Monday came with the scheduled service for Aug 2. This was totally unacceptable. I went a different direction and my air was fixed Jilt 29th. Cancelled my service call on Wed. I can see if an appliance fails (except fridge) you can wait, but in AZ with temp in excess of 115, this should have been fixed much more quickly. Never have I waited this long for AC. Disappointing!

It’s definitely worth it when getting an older house that’s expected to have issues especially with dual HVAC systems. The claim process can be slow for some claims but overall I’m glad I have it. Had some minor issues on a microwave claim but had 3 others that had no real issues. I’d rather have it versus not having it.

Once you get a Technician at your home, they do an excellent Job. The problem is with getting a response that doesn’t take 2-3 weeks to get you help. Also I had an appointment canceled and rescheduled the day they were supposed to come out after waiting 2 weeks. You need a website dedicated to customer complaints and you might learn something. I had this a few years ago and I liked it a lot, you could pick your own Tech. , the tech. Would call in and CHW would approve the bill, simple. When you call to report a problem, it sounds like a crowded room of immigrants who can’t understand anything. That’s the main problem, communication.

choice home warranty is real quick to take the money out of my bank account and on time every month had a warranty problem with dryer they oked paying for the dryer but said it would take 30 days to get a voucher from them so we could purchase a new dryer why not just cut the customer a check and be done with it plus we could have just purchased the new dryer now we have to wait 30 days for them to email a voucher and we take it to lowes and still have to put money with it to get the new dryer after a months wait. There is no reason for them to take that long.

Choice Home Warranty hs treated us very well this year in that they have helped us replace a roof mounted AC/Heating unit, a kitchen faucet and a refrigerator. In some cases it has taken quite some time for the process to be completed. While I understand the reasons for some of the delays, I am still a bit disappointed I how much time it does take. However, ido highly recommend CHW to anyone in the market for a home warranty policy.

Had a plumbing problem and put in a request for service. I got an email from choice saying that a plumber was coming That day and it was 1 PM when I got it! I never received a phone call from the company or a follow up from choice. Very frustrating. I ended up putting three bottles of liquid plumber down the drain to limp it along. When I signed up also for the five-year plan, they promised me to extra services. When I called and tried to use one of the services a year and a half into the five years, they said that I didn’t have that service available to me unbelievably frustrating to pay that much in advance and not have the service.

Timely response! Sears repair contacted us the following day and arrived that day to repair the dryer problem. Ordered replacement parts which were several days in delivery. The repair person gave us a date the parts would arrive and was there on that date to complete repair. Best service we could have hoped for.

I've used the warranty service 3 times, the first I thought was very bad as I had a micro wave quit and Choice would not repair or install a new unit instead they gave a cash settlement for the cheapest SS model available leaving me to install the micro wave. The second and third times I used Choice were for AC problems and both times the service was superior, but due to the micro wave problem I couldn't give a five star rating, although the two AC repairs were both 5 stars.

I have had mixed experiences with Choice Warranty, most of them unsatisfactory. When submitting a claim, it has taken a week or longer for a technician to arrive. The communication with the technicians has been difficult. If you are in no rush, Choice Warranty may be a good choice. But, I have been without a functioning washing machine for over a month now. My understating was that if an appliance was unable to be repaired, it would be replaced. That is not the case. With my washing machine which can not be repaired, they sent me a gift card to Lowe’s for $343. Here are no washing machines for that price.

They took care of all my problems. The only thing that was not perfect was that it took a little longer to get a repair person as I live in a small community and quite a ways from a fairly large town but I still wouldn’t want to be without Choice Warranty. Thank you Choice Warranty.
