When you call for the warranty you speak to people outside of the US and they read off a script. Even though it maybe listed that they repair something there are a lot of exceptions they don’t tell you about. They had to get someone 3 hours away to do my repair which they don’t cover most of it still costing me $1000.

AC unit not cooling was reported, T-stat was set on 75, house temp was 81 degrees and outside unit was running constant. Prompt response from CW and from AC contractor was great. AC tech was great, informed me and CW, that the problem with my 12yr old AC unit was inefficiency, Only 10 degree difference across the coils but should be 18 to 21 degree difference. AC tech stated to me the unit needed to be replaced and turned in his report to CW. CW reported to me "NO PROBLEM FOUND". THANKS

Got a repair technician out quickly. But only covered $500 of a $4880 water leak repair. Pretty disappointed in the coverage. Have policy for this kind of situation and they find a way to not cover the cost or even part of it. Not the first time this has happened. 😞

I filed an air-conditioning claim on August 14, tomorrow is September 12 and the service is still not been completed. I’ve spent over an hour on the phone daily between calling the warranty company, the air conditioning technicians, and now the manager at carrier is involved, but for some reason, no one can get the orders straight to complete the installation. I am over 65 years old and have been living in hundred degree temperatures without an air conditioning for nearly a month.

Choice home warranty It was not good. I had an emergency and they would not come out on Thursday as I requested. I explained my AC was leaking and I etiei g the drip pan. I explained to Brian, the owner of the AC company I was referred to that I was going out of town early Friday morning and returning until Sept 24. I explained that I am 75 and live alone. He said his schedule was full and couldn't come until Friday. He asked if had a neighbor who would let them in. I do not. I found a friend who would fit while they came but he never gave me a time. I asked twice. I had no choice but to call a company. The cleaned the unit and repaired the cause of the leak. They charged me $500 00. I am asking that Choice Home Warranty reimburse me as their contractor refused to help me in my time of need in a timely fashion that would address the emergency.

February 2024 we made a claim for our icemakers Not working properly. Joyce home warranty sent Sears A&E Service to handle the claim. They diagnosed that both icemakers need to be replaced and the gasket in the freezer needed to be replaced. Choice home warranty, authorized one icemaker to be fixed. They didn’t authorize a gasket to be replaced or the second icemaker. 14 different appointments with Sears A&E and icemaker still was not fixed. We ended up making another claim for the other icemaker and Choice home warranty sent out a general electric service advisor. He determined that our board in the refrigerator was broken and the icemaker was not not working. The technician advised that it would cost more to fix the refrigerator than to buy a new one. I recontacted choice home warranty and their Third World country operator advised me that they had to send out another technician. I contacted the Better Business Bureau and advise them of the disgrace over six months of going through this. Finally in the middle of August after I contacted the Better Business Bureau home warranty finally decided to offer us money to close out the case. We lost thousands of dollars of food from a not keeping it Cold. I would never use choice home warranty again after this rigmarole. Don’t waste your money

I don’t like the way things that I have an issue with need to be “approved” AFTER the service tech is in my home and I’ve already paid the service fee. If the service is not approved I’m still required to pay the service fee. This was never an issue with my last home warranty company. I’ve also been informed Choice almost never approves anything electrical so why do they even pretend to offer electrical coverage.

No communication with company after passing us on to Sears, the Sears told us the part was ordered by Choice. We have been waiting since middle of June to get our ac repaired, and when I was finally was able to get thru to Choice, I was told the claim had been cancelled--too much time had passed! Still working on it though, and hopefully by the first snow we will have a functioning ac.

After being informed my DW would be replaced, I was informed it would be up to 30 days to get the electronic gift card to use towards a new dishwasher. This is resulting in roughly two months w/o a dishwasher. The amount provided covers less than half the cost of a comparable model and does not include installation costs or removal costs of the broken dishwasher. I'm unhappy with the time this takes, and the method used to determine replacement value. Same thing happened a few years ago when my washing machine failed. I ended up paying over $400 out of pocket to get a "comparable model". I expected more when I paid for a six year "Ultimate Choice" package for coverage.

I made two claims to repair a very old bathroom light/fan/heater combo. The fan and heater elements have not worked well since the repairs. I had an appliance professional look at the light combo, and he said that the entire light combo needs to be replaced with a new fixture. But CHW sent the same company to fix the same problem. If I make another claim to repair the light combo, will CHW send the same company again to make a temporary fix on a 66 year-old fixture? I have also made a claim on a step-in bathtub shower wand. However, the company said that they could not repair the wand. No resolution was made. So I had to pay the $75 copay and the shower wand was not repaired. In this case, I believe that a qualified plumbing company should have been dispatched or I should have received a refund for the copay that I paid the plumbing company.

Regular service calls for minor repairs are handled timely and efficiently. Bigger issues like an aged AC unit (more than 15 years old) which needs to be replaced due to necessary parts that are no longer available takes way too long for a decision to be made (felt like too many obstacles were purposely but in motion) and then you still have to pay a chunk of money due to the upgraded system. It's getting replaced (has been authorized anyway) but we are now 7 weeks without AC in a never-ending heat wave in Tennessee and still have to wait another two weeks for the service tech schedule. Knowing this up front will reduce your frustration and expectations.

Okay this is my second time to reply to this questionnaire. The ac tech a several days to get compressor. The first one he got from the supplier he said that it didn’t look good. So he said that they were going to order one. At that point I think he should have tried to get one from another supplier. Once he got here with the new one, he installed it in no time at all. Three or four days ago it froze up. Got it to work. But he never called back or offered to come back and check it out. Which I think is poor customer service. I would still recommend him but with caution.

The overall experience has been somewhat of a challenge scheduling appointments then after the vendors don’t show up getting with someone to help you is the challenge it took me three tries is speaking with five managers to get the proper help but other than that, I did finally get the help that I need my refrigerator repaired. I would say choice Home Warranty need to check their vendors before they appoint them.

They were fairly quick in sending a garage repairman who replaced the opening system. There was a hitch in that the door would open but not close the next day. They sent him back out fairly quickly again and he replaced the safety sensors and it works fine now.

My main complaint is - took 2mths to determine issues and determine the refrigerator would not be fixed and another month to receive an lowes E-Card. Because of the time involved we had purchased a refrigerator prior to Choices decision not to fix the appliance. To our dismay we brought the refrigerator at Home Depot not lowes. Had we know Choice only issued e-cards for lowes we would have gone there. I requested a home depot card but was denied. So, yes we got a partial reimbursement for the broken refrigerator but took 3mths to finalize everything. Most families can't go three mths without a refrigerator! If we have an issue in the future and are unable for Choice to determine a solution, we will shop lowes and wait for the outcome. Another complaint - I attempted to call Choice numerous time attempting to find out our status. Left our phone number as required but no call back for approx 2wks!

I needed a repair to my air conditioning unit that stopped functioning in the middle of the summer season. This was the first time I was using my benefit so didn’t know what to expect. I was thrilled with the experience. I had someone come the next day. He identified the problem and was able to make the repair during that initial visit. Once I reaches out to Choice they had a repairman come out in 2 days to diagnose the problem. He ordered the replacement parts for the dryer. We were very pleased from beginning to end. My out of pocket expense was $85. Before contacting Choice I reached out to the Samsung and they did a video call diagnostic said we may not have the replacement parts and then offered me a discount on a new dryer.

Some of the things I like about Choice Home Warranty are cost and a variety of plans to choose from. I've used the plan twice and when needing a repair their online program was very easy to use . Just ad promised I was notified quickly with a response to a repair and scheduling options and a choice of cash or credit card. Overall this has been a positive experience. I was offered to choose and contact the repairman I wanted and once approved and repairs completed I was to submit my receipt for reimbursement. There is a small learning curve to the process as a new customer but they communicate frequently and help you to successfully submit a claim for reimbursement. I am glad that I purchased the Home Warranty through Choice Home Warranty and have already signed up for another year. It has only been a few days since submitting my request so the check hasn’t arrived but I am confident that this will work just as seamlessly. Their Customer Support was quick and professional and eased any concerns I had related to the company and its quality of service.

I had an issue with my refrigerator. They did come out several times to work on it. It had a twofold issue. Inside top would stay cool. I had tons of food, spoil and almost had a gallon at milk, blow up. And also the ice maker would not work. The icemaker was covered under warranty due to a recall. Samsung declared the ice maker not repairable. So after that Choice, home warranty would not come and fix the Refrigerator cooling part. So I had to spend money. I did not have to replace my refrigerator. Now the good part. My AC quit working right when we were having the heat waves. They had somebody out the next day to repair it, and all is good. Overall choice warranty is very good. I think every time I have called. They have been here the next day. And the online portal is great!
