Now that I am a senior citizen I wanted to protect my appliances as they are very expensive to repair/replace. I reached out to CHW on Oct 30 at 1:24 am when I woke up very cold with my thermostat reading 59. Not terrible, but I have been waiting nearly one week now to have an HVAC Pro assigned to my claim. I chatted with them on line, twice in this interim, but just got the "bot answer", something like....... We are sorry you're cold but please have patience... Really? I live in southeast MA, it's going to be in the 30s next week . I called on the phone this morning and left my number for a call back. I was called in 18 minutes. The Rep offered a reimbursement option, but was afraid it will not be covered if the 'diagnosis' from a person of my choosing does not get approved, I'm out the full price charged by the contractor. The Rep understood and when I told her the same issue occurred and was repaired on Oct 9th, just 20 days ago, she was able to reopen the old claim and the same HVAC person I had before (and he was very good) is coming in two days. TALKING WITH A HUMAN IS A VERY GOOD THING! Thank you CHW.

Technician was on time but could not find anything wrong with our pipes. The problem could have been the gaskets on the faucets, but since they were not leaking he said he could not look at the faucets as this would not be covered under the warranty. I would think the warranty should have included the option for the technician to also look at the faucets to find out if they were the problem.

Choice did a good job finding vendor to do the repair - unfortunately Js heat and air keeps telling me he is waiting for approval. According to Choice you show approved for repair. Now he is not returning calls. Maybe Choice will have to find another vendor to do the repair. We were told we need a new relay and thermostat. Should not be a big deal. That was last Friday last time I spoke with the repair service he said no parts. I made one phone call and found the parts.

The Technician from Johnson Builders was vice and polite and did his job in a timely manner. Yes I would recommend Choice Home Warranty. Although it took longer then anticipated to resolve the matter of fixing the water heater then inspected. My first call to them was made on October 6th. and the water heater was not fixed until the 28th of October. Maybe the warranty company and the people they use to fix things could have a better system of getting the matter at hand resolved sooner.

For simple washer button replacement, I had to call 5 times to set up the confirmed appointment. The other 4 attempts did not go through. They need to re-evaluate process and also process to send schedule confirmation by email. Eventually, it was fixed.

They’re quick to have someone at your house working on your issues. Only one time did I have to ask for another service provider. The record of the company scheduled weren’t good. Choice didn’t question though and sent another company.

My refrigerator was not repairable so Choice will send an e-gift certificate for replacement of fridge. Service was fast/very pleased with that. Choice told me the e-gift would take up to THIRTY days to receive. It’s been almost two weeks so I have to be without a fridge for two more weeks. I called the company at least twice and was told they cannot expedite claim.

Technician was great but because I could only guess water heater (due to wet area) but it turned out to be a STOPPAGE I was charged 2 service fees ($150) and NO free fee as promised. A white girl it was provided for my electronic fireplace to be repaired. Gentleman who received a request stated that he didn’t work on fireplace. I received no follow back up from choice. I call a few weeks later to figure out what happened and was told that choice don’t service fireplace. That situation could have been handled better.

Overall, I'd recommend Choice Home Warranty. They've never denied any of our claims. We've had electrical, plumbing, A/C, and refrigerator claims since we purchased our home 4 years ago. Sometimes it's hit and miss with the companies they use to service the claims. Both of our air conditioning units have gone out multiple times. Although it took months of band-aid fixes, the units were eventually replaced (a few years apart). That alone is worth having the warranty!

Choice Home Warranty turns out to be one of the best things we've ever signed up for! All but one of the issues we've had have been taken care of in a timely manner by very professional and knowledgable technicians. When we had a plumbing issue, Choice Home Warranty was very prompt with communication but was unable in the end to get a plumber to come out and in turn told us to go ahead and get our own. I recommend Choice Home Warranty to any homeowner.

The plumber sent, Aaron, was excellent. But choice 1st sched me with a plumber to unstop a bath sink 4-5 days later but this offer was canceled then another was sched 2 days later. Choice needs to add more to their lists.

There was the wait time with service repair person when ordering parts they do not communicating with Choice Warranty with updates and follow-up with me. I had to contact service person for updates, which should not be my job. When speaking with customer service they did not fully listen to your issues and they just changed the service provider.

The appliance company, Runyon was nice however, it was not noted that I had to call them first before they would come out. They sent a very nice tech, Stefan who figured the problem and said they would have to order the part. This took 2 weeks to get. My dishwasher is fixed and Stefan gave me some great tips.

I expected an email confirming my appointment. I waited almost two weeks for a notification, when the gentleman unexpectedly arrived one morning at 9:00 a.m. without notice. Fortunately, we were home. I learned afterward that a message had been sent to my account, saying when he would arrive. Unless a person knows to check there, it's frustrating waiting for some sort of confirmation. An email or text providing the appointment would be appreciated.

The fact that they were quick with getting someone out for the problem. Dislike the fact of the reimbursement amount is way less than what I purchase my product for. And the fact that I have to pay for server to come out and still have to come out of pocket to replace my product. Truth be told I really can take that monthly payment and just put it aside and save the money myself. But I do appreciate something than nothing.

I thank you for requesting my opinion. There was a quick response to my garbage disposal breakdown. It operated quietly and worked well before. Replacement was approved, which I’m grateful for. When I talked with the salesman who explained Choice, he said a breakdown would result in the same or comparable product. The replacement company used a cheaper and loud model. I can live with this one, but I sincerely hope and expect any future replacement will be equal in value and performance. Again, thank you! Sue Haley

Overall, the company has been great to deal with. For some repairs I get approval for parts within Minutes, which is amazing. Other repairs can require up to a week or two, which means some Aplliance or feature in my home is not working while I await approval. It tends to be on the bigger jobs like an air conditioner or refrigerator. That’s why I deducted one star. Compared to my previous Home Warranty company Choice is substantially better comparatively.

Dislike the fact that it was times I couldn't get in touch with Choice to find out my claim status. It is misleading to advertise 100% availability and the phones shut down at 5pm! Be transparent up front about your availability. Online is availability but not for everyone. If you are going to offer use of client's technician with reimbursement, give the client time to respond before it is withdrawn. Again your availability is important.

The company named O's Home Improvement installed the water heater to my satisfaction. But he stripped the water valve to the house. Chicago came out and turned the water off from the main (street). Once the company named USA Water and Plumbing came and fixed my water valve in the house, I was left with the water heater not working (gas not on) and I didn't know how to turn it on. O's home improvement never responded. I therefore, called someone to come and finish hooking up the water heater. That's my only complaint. He could have just walked me through the process over the phone, but, he didn't respond! I even call Choice Home trying to connect with him. Overall, he did an excellent job installing the water heater and USA changed my valve quick and he was very professional! Thank You

Overall I appreciate how easy it is to file a claim and how smooth and quickly the process works. Once a company is assigned to the claim, the company information is available and I can communicate with them directly. One downfall is that you cannot combine related issues and have to file separate claims and pay for each, even if the same company is completing the work on the same day. Another issue is if the problem in the claim continues to be a problem, you can’t reopen the claim and update the information, you have to file another claim. All in all, I’d recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone in need of a home warranty company.
