I was happy with the arrival of the tech; However, other than fixing some locking mechanism, it turns out since the windows are so large and also double hung windows, their weight is heavy, so the heavy duty springs are just hard to work with, these springs do not help with opening or closing the windows.. granted, I accept that.. so, the only solution is to keep using a silicon lubricant with Teflon(tm) to loosen them up.. not happy with this completely. I wish HD would have been far more apprised of this issue with double hung windows. That since they are so big, opening them will be more difficult.. HD's sales guys SHOULD already KNOW this.. else I would have made a different choice.. still no feedback on the frosted window that the HD sales rep told me he listed and ordered, yet Milgard said it wasn't on the order.. this is an agreement between Milgard and Home Depot whihch I was not included in that contract, ergo, I am NOT responsible for replacing this window, and I have no confidence, that Milgard is going to rectify this, and HD will be responsible for payment, as they violated the contract.. not me..

We have owned our door for less than 2 years and already have had 2 warranty claims on it.
The first was a struggle. We received a damaged door and Milgard did not want to replace it. The door was 2 weeks late coming in the first place and it is my theory that it is because they damaged it and were trying to fix it before delivery. Luckily, the business we bought the door from had outstanding customer service and they fought with Milgard until the door was replaced.
The second claim went mostly fine. Milgard agreed readily to fixing the problem, and the Milgard employee was pleasant, respectful, and got the job done quickly. He did show up a day earlier than scheduled and we did not receive a notice that he was coming until after he showed up which is not what was promised. Fortunately, I was home and so it was fine.
Overall, I would most likely never buy a Milgard product again and would not recommend others to either. I hope the "lifetime warranty" continues to work because it seems like it is a mediocre product and one we will have to continually have fixed.

What I liked most about this service call is that they DIDN"T do it the last time they were here because the technician was not confident that the replacement unit would fit! Basically he said "I'm not pulling this unit because I don't think the replacement is a correct fit" I appreciate that kind of decision making in real time. Yes it required an additional service call but I wasn't stuck with a boarded up hole because the replacement didn't fit.

Fast efficient replacement of broken window.
Workers crossed my front lawn several times and left a trail of wet dirt and grass through my house.
Debris from window install on the sill and floor. They don't clean up after themselves.

The warranty case was scheduled quickly. The case involves 19 year old windows that are still covered by the Milgard guarantee! The technician who came out took care of two issues and then realized a second person would be needed for the third one. He also noted another window that needed to be replaced and added that to the order. The two technicians arrived on time and were quick and efficient with a difficult location which required working on a ladder 40 feet above the ground. Great job all the way around. Milgard is absolutely the best!

I made a claim on a large window that appeared to have a faulty latch on the dash. The tech came out earlier than scheduled and showed us how the latch was designed to operate. I learned the latch was not faulty at all, but rather operator error in how it was being closed. Thank you so much for your professionalism and assuring my dignity was intact after you left.

We were very pleased with the warranty process. We contacted Milgard regarding a blemish in our picture window, right in our line of sight, that we noticed a couple of months after the installation. I provided a very detailed descreption of the defect and on what part of the window it was located. Milgard ordered the glass and scheduled the installation based on that description. The job took 15 minutes and was within the 2-hour time frame provided. Thank you Milgard for taking care of your customers!

I have been in construction for 37 years and can read a tape. i asked for replacement screen as the ones sent were too tall. I had to wait for more than two weeks for your tech top come out and confirm the screens were too tall. this cost me and you time and cost you much more than if you had just made me new screens in the first place...

Kyle was a top-notch technician who was able to repair the sliding track in one of our sunroom windows even though it was 35 years old and I had been told they would likely have to make a new bottom window. He also took the time to replace two unlocking openers on two bedroom windows that had been broken for many years. He definitely deserves a 5-star rating. I recently purchased a Milgard window and opted to install it myself. Unfortunately, once installed, I discovered a factory defect that wasn't visible beforehand. I contacted Milgard and they promptly dispatched a mobile repair crew to my home.
I was incredibly impressed with the crew's expertise and professionalism. They had decades of experience between them and quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue. It was clear that this was an easy fix for them, and they handled it with efficiency and care.

I was able to order replacement part for my 26 year old patio door. But, I had to REALLY push to get to send a technician out to install. I am sure they don't like fulfilling their lifetime commitment to original homeowners that they made 25+ years ago, but there are still people, like myself, that have that clause, and it should never be something that is fulfilled. The service person I originally spoke to insisted I come to Tualatin to pick up the part(s). I had to ask to speak to his manager in order to get them to come and and install. The installer was very professional and friendly. I very much appreciate him coming out it only took a couple minutes. It would've taken me much longer, especially since I did not have the tools for the job.

I couldn't lock my Tuscany series sliding patio door in the secondary lock position to leave it slightly open. My scheduled appointment time was for 12:45p but Mike called and asked if he get come early, if course I said yes! He got right to work making the necessary adjustments and made sure everything was in alignment within the channels. He explained that my door had a primary and secondary lock. The primary being the door handle and the secondary if I wanted to leave the door slightly open at night. He made sure I didn't have any other concerns and told me that if I had any more problems to call. I really appreciated his friendly professionalism and for calling to see if he could come earlier than originally scheduled. I love my Milgard windows and how nice they look.

Just have to comment on Bonito your Milgard technician...,
Bonito's mannerisms and overall professionalism was very impressive, I have been a remodeler and a master of my craft for years... This glass replacement was not in the best of positions semi-behind a gas freestanding stove in the corner of our master bedroom on the ground floor. The outside is covered in landscaping plants and a little difficult to get to. Bonito was careful of the garden and did little to disturb it... But he was fast on the draw with his tools and relevant installation materials. He had this replaced in lighting speed in under 15 minutes traveling to his truck and back... Current outside temperatures in the 80's...
Well done Bonito, anyone that has the opportunity to have this Glass man on the job will do well to stay out of his way! LOL 😂 He was Glazing at brea neck speeds and very communicable in the process!

It took about a month for them to send out a technician to help with our problem. We had to call them back a couple of times before they responded with more than an email with an order number on it. Our problem was not a normal malfunction with the gears of our transoms window. The installers retrofitted the latch so we could open our loft windows 2ndstory, from the bottom first floor. The cap that was placed and fitted to the gears of the window latch is not holding properly so the 6’ pole is not connecting as it should. We couldn’t open the window using the pole crank, it could not catch with the closers gears.
The tech was able to tighten the fitting so it worked and said it would probably fail. The Milgard gears still look pristine. The cap added for our pole is what is spinning. I don’t hold Milgard at fault for this. We will try to find a replacement cap thru the installers, a very old and competent glass company in our area. We’ll see how that works. Our problem was not fixed by the Milgard Tech and we’ll see what happens in round two with the glass company who sold and installed the windows for us.

Corrected what was probably rightfully the retail window company induced problem so 5 stars just for that. On a somewhat negative note, this year I've had both sides of a sliding door replaced. One was due to glass breakage; the other due to wrong type glass in the original installation. The sliding door is a type that has small venetian blinds incorporated between panes. Both times the replacement panels were ordered with the controls for the venetian blinds on the wrong side. (Fortunately, the installer has apparently encountered this error a number of times so he brought panels with controls on both sides - so 5 stars for Stan too.) This is a communication problem.

we built our house about 14 years ago and had Milgard windows installed. since that time we have had i think every window replaced at least once. when i notice a issue with a window i call Milgard and they have a local person (JAKE) contact me . Jake is absolutely the best representative that Milgard could have here in my area. he very courteous, prompt and very professional about getting my windows installed.
Milgard may not have the very best window on the market but I guarantee that they have the best WARRANTY.
If I ever build another house I guarantee that Milgard would be my choice of windows. I am very happy with the service i receive.

Initial contact was very helpful in finding the original order (24 years ago!) for my house and confirming the measurements and identification of the 2 failed windows. The installation technician (Vicente, I think) was very quick and professional. Wore booties inside and was very good about protecting the surrounding workspace and cleaning up afterward. He was courteous to recognize that I had just prepared my lunch (he arrived just before noon) and one of the windows was in the kitchen. He opted to start with the other window so that I could finish my lunch in peace.
This is the second or third time that we have contacted Milgard for warranty replacement, and every time the company has been top notch! Would recommend them to anyone interested.

This is the second time I have had to use my Milgard warranty for windows installed when my house was constructed in 1998. On both occasions they honored their warranty to the letter. Today, at no cost to me, they came out and replace three windows that had broken seals without blinking an eye. This is the kind of company I like doing business with. Further, considering the number of windows in my house I find it amazing that they have held up so well. All four windows (combination of both claims) were on the south side of my house where they get hammered by weather yet they still held up for 22 years.

It sucks when your windows show that they’ve been infiltrated in between the glass. Once you see it, the problem only grows:
I waited too long to contact Millard about our problem, “as far as my wife was concerned” it was true.
After several years I finally did do what the effort entails, and to my surprise and happiness, Millard came through. Great service and communication.
You need to do it all online. You need to know how to gather the info. When you do the work, the effort pays off.

We bought a new home, in 2004. At the time it was built it had standard stock windows. In May 2012, we had all the windows and window casings replaced on15 windows with Milgard Windows at the recommendation of our contractor and what a difference. THIS ENDED UP AS BEING ONE OF THE SMARTEST AND BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE. Milgard Windows keeps our house quiet and warm all year around. In those 8 years we had some fogging between the glass panes on three windows. Milgard replaced these windows fast, with no questions or charges. Today 03/26/20 two Milgard’s representatives, Surge and Ross, I believe were their names, arrived after traveling from Tri-Cities, WA to our home in Liberty Lake, WA to replace two windows. They were so unbelievably fast, courteous, and a joy to talk to. They completed the work quickly & efficiently.

I had Milgard windows installed in my whole house in 2002. Recently, I noticed a slight haze developing on the inside between two glass panels on one large front window. Since the original installation included a lifetime guarantee for the original owner, I called the original installer, Newman Replacement Windows, who promptly located my old purchase records and referred me to the manufacturer with a reference number. In calling Milgard a few days later, they had all my information in hand and scheduled a service call.
Jaime, the Milgard repair specialist arrived promptly and quickly repaired my window back to new pristine shape. All this was done with no cost to me and they honored their lifetime guarantee with no hesitation.
I would highly recommend Milgard for their products and guarantee follow up service along with Newman Replacement Windows of Carlsbad for all window replacement needs.

Despite there being no serial numbers on two failed window inserts in my house, the Milgard rep took into account the sales receipts for the windows I purchased over twenty-five years ago.
The Milgard rep then measured the dimensions of the two failed window inserts and told me I would hear back from Milgard in a few weeks.
Sure enough, I received a reply from the Milgard factory with a time window and date when an installer would visit to install the new inserts.
The installer stopped by within the time window and had the new window modules installed within 20 - 30 minutes.
The new inserts were clean and smear free when the installer finished.
Milgard windows are great and Milgard service is second to none!!

Our neighbor got a dog that barked at every leaf or cat that came by. It was noisy and annoying so we looked for a way to stop the noise in our family room, We called a window installer and he reccomended Millgard. I thought it was more expensive than I expected but we did it any way.
We installed a multi pane Milgard sliding glass door and the noise stopped.
Ok that's what I wanted but we got more.
We got a door that has never been hard to operate. It allways slides open and shut smoothly.
We got a door that has a lock we can trust. I had to install special locks on the other doors .
We got glass that does not alter what we see. We have a mother cheaper original door that causes wavy vision.
We got an installation that has never faltered. I have had to adjust every other door in the house but the Millgartd just keeps working.
I made one mistake though, I got a sliding door with no outside lock in it. And this is where Milgard service comes in, I had never contacted Milgartd because the door allways works. So after all these years I needed a locking handel. Milgard service was wonderful from the first call until they notified me they were sending me a replacement handel. And, when I asked if it would accomodate a Kwickset lock they got right back to me saying yes.
In a time when internet companies do not even want to talk or make it impossible to contact them, Milgard goes out of their way to provide a great reliable product but then they back it up with great service.

We have multiple Milgard windows in our home. Recently three windows in our sun room started to haze over on the inside of the glass units. A local glass shop directed me to get in touch with Milgard's warranty dept. The Milgard staff were very helpful, we identified exactly which windows needed to be serviced and a date was immediately scheduled.
This morning Sergei arrived right on time. He was impeccably polite. He quickly and efficiently swapped out the failing glass units and cleaned up the area. He was done within 40 minutes. The windows look great.
The whole process was smooth, efficient, and really friendly to me as a customer. I am buying Milgard windows in the future.

I had a problem with my fiberglass double hung windows which would not slide up and down without tremendous physical effort. I searched the Milgard web site for advice but found nothing. I sent in a service request on line , suggesting an electronic response could fix my problem. Milgard chose to send a service technician to my home. Jesus, the service guy did a great job reviewing the sticky windows and he showed me how the problem is easily fixed with silicon lubricant. All this is fine, but I had to come home from work to meet Jesus which was inconvenient to do. It seems to me the whole service issue could have been handled by a maintenance note on your web site or a phone call from your service technician. Just tell me what kind of lubricant to use on fiberglass and I am good. The result was good but perhaps we could have saved both Milgard and myself quite a bit of time with an email or phone call response.

We purchased Milgard windows for our house in 1995. Recently two of them had issues. One had kind of a mildew looking substance on the lower inside between panes. The second started showing finger prints between the panes. Contacted Milgard in April. They walked me through how to file a claim, measure and identify the windows since are far from new. Set up an appointment for June to repair them. Their crew arrived in the time frame I was told. The one window was part of an 8' patio window (extremely heavy). The crew (two people) had both windows changed out in under 30 minutes. I was shocked how efficient they were...WOW! The crew was polite, business like and again, very efficient.
Can't say enough about the quality of these windows, the backing from the company guaranteeing their product and the support team that makes them so great. Thank you folks at Milgard again. Would I recommend them....heck ya! RT

It has been almost 15 years since my Milgard windows were installed. Upon a recent professional window cleaning, I noticed a haze on several windows. I contacted Milgard through the company I originally purchased my windows. They promptly started a case file for me, They sent people out to replace my windows and examined the remaing windows. After their inspection, they noted defects in 5 more window panes and promptly ordered the replacements. Within a month, all the defective windows had been replaced. Employees were courteous, efficient and thoroughly cleaned up after themselves! The Temecula dispatch center was AMAZING! When Milgard says lifetime warranty, they mean it! Thank you for making this experience painless!

i love your windows. they are so beautiful and easy to open! I used to struggle to get my old windows open. Then I got my Milgard windows and what a difference! Then, I found myself having to replace glass in two windows. Wow! I found out all about your wonderful guarantee/warranty. Your customer service was excellent. From setting up the appointment to the arrival of my glass replacement. And my window replacement technician, Winston, was very very professional. He came in and completed the work in surprising time. Everything was clean and ready to go. He thoroughly explained what I needed to do over the next few days to guarantee a successful seal on my windows. Hold onto that guy! He should make you proud!

I remodeled my home 10 years ago, installing new wood clad Milgard windows throughout. I recently noticed moisture in one of my living room window panels. I immediately contacted Milgard service through their website, completed the brief service request and within a few short days received a service date. The technician arrived right on time. He inspected and measured the panel for replacement. Shortly thereafter, I received another email scheduling the installation appointment. The pleasant service technician again arrived right on time and quickly installed a new panel replacement. The area was left clean and the window looks great! I can't imagine how the whole process could have been better. Great Job! Thank you!

Due to a late in the year installation of new windows, we did not try to open our bedroom windows until late April. One of the casement windows started to fall out of the frame as it was opened. We called the contractor who installed them 3 times and he never returned our calls. We then contacted Milgard, who routed our service request to our area and set up an appointment. The Milgard service man showed up early and took care of the problem in less than 5 minutes. He also took care of another installer error in just a few minutes. These are beautiful windows and the problems were in the installation, not in the manufacturing. The Milgard rep was congenial and efficient.

We purchased skylights from Milgard for our home in the 90's and most recently discovered one was leaking and another the seal had broken. I contacted Milgard about the repair, even though they do not manufacture skylights any longer they offered to replace them under their lifetime warranty. This was a painless process, they provided me a date for the replacement and showed up exactly when they said they would. I'm always sceptical of "lifetime warranty" offers but Milgard truly stands behind their commitments. I would highly recommend Milgard to anyone considering purchasing new windows without reservation.

We purchased 6 replacement windows in June of 2023, due to being an older home, the two bathroom windows were custom size. Just those two windows were a total of $2,568.00.
($1,284.00 each).
In December 2025, I was getting ready in the bathroom and we heard a huge pop, it was SO loud and actually a bit scary. My husband and I couldn’t figure out what it was, then realized the pane of glass on the inside, blew and cracked from top to bottom.
After nearly two months, we finally heard from Milgard. I provided the order number and was informed glass warranty was not covered and would be a cost of $379.58. I asked how could this happen to such a new window, and being the pane on the inside, it clearly wasn’t hit with or by something and provided pictures.
In addition, I explained after the windows had been installed we had to call someone out, as this window would not open all the way. Clearly something wasn’t right with this one window. It took them a while to figure out what the heck was wrong and after the adjustment was made, the frame was possibly compromised. The Milgard contact said it is a very rare occurrence and still not covered. I expressed my extreme frustration, we are a repeat customer, and didn’t understand how this “unique” incident could not also have a “unique” resolve. I was also given a quote from the window company we ordered through for $1,283.76. Why would I purchase a complete new window? If they were suggesting this, then that makes sense, the window was defective from the start.
I let the Milgard contact know I was extremely disappointed and disheartened, that Milgard has always been a name and quality we’ve trusted and confused why they would not stand behind their product. That was 03/05 and have not received any response.

Milgard service is very busy and can take some time to get a repair scheduled and completed. The service man was on time and very efficient. Everything seemed to go well. The $500 to replace the small window seems a bit high but it’s been a while since I have had to deal with window replacement. I have been happy with my Milgard windows and the warranty provided.
