Do not let all the stars fool you. Go to Yelp for the real life reviews. Unpaid on-bot reviews. This company decided to not fix my oven because the repair cost too much and offered me a $600 gift card from Lowes AFTER charging me $125 for the tech to come out. Believe me ..... they are a scam!! GO TO YELP FIRST!!!

We are living in Illinois with weather over 90 degrees. Our air conditioner died and we called HWA 6/17/24. They have made an appt for us with Sears home repair for 6/28/24. We will melt before then. Since we have had HWA, their coverage has significantly worsened (less than $500 to replace a $3200 cooktop) and their delays have become intolerable. We froze without heat for 6 days this past winter as well. No such thing as urgent for HWA. Take my advice: GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR A HOME WARRANTY. THIS PLACE IS WORTHLESS.

I put in a claim for my furnace. I have no heat and it's cold in Indiana. I pay the 100 service fee to be told that the outdoor unit was installed incorrectly. How am I supposed to know that when I just bought the home. My claim was denied. Due to it not be a covered service. Customer service is ruid. The supervisor Shantel M called back. She was ruid, cut me off, then proceeded to raise her voice at me. This company paints a picture that they will cover things and will not. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM.

8/19/23 TERRIBLE customer service, I was offered a LOWES card for my claim replacement in 30 days BUT I requested a check instead of a Lowes card and I was told OK! NO PROBLEM! since I needed my fridge and I pay out of my pocket and find out a month later NO ONE PROCESS my check request it almost feel i was talking to myself. BOTTOMLINE still haven't received my check, because is going to be 9/19/23 process on my behalf again by Maison the Manager. 30 more days need to wait to hopefully to see my check, will see!

We have a major problem with the entire drain system out on our home. The response time and prompt help is terrible and communicating with your representative was extremely difficult. We're supposed to live in this house for 5 days before someone can come out to LOOK at our problem? We can't use the toilet, shower, cook, do laundry, etc. We are not recommending this company to anyone and are telling our Realtor to never recommend this company. We were thinking of renewing this policy when the year is up but I sincerely doubt it now.

This company paid us $343 for a two year old washing machine that we paid $1100 for and they could not fix after five tries. Consequently I canceled the coverage that I had paid three years in advance for $1300 only had the plan for one year and they told me after early cancellation fees I’m only getting back $342. This company is a rip off and con artist do not do business with them.

Texan Heating and air were great. But it took 2 & 1/2 weeks to let AHW to approve add get to the service guys to install. It was over 204 every day. That is too much to as of a person that is old and with heart problems

I would give you zero stats if I could! You couldn't get a tech to take the AC job, and after 5 days I couldn't stand the excessive heat in the Phoenix, AZ area during the record breaking heat in July that I broke down and hired my own AC tech to fix it. Of course, your company wouldn't cover the cost. What's the use of having a warranty if you can't get a tech out to fix it? Nothing but a waste of money! Sherry

When calling customer service, the reps cannot help with your issue. I had my ac out for over 2weeks. Temps over 100 outside and over 85 in my house. Very poor service. I am considering changing when my contract is up for renewal. Also I have a claim on my dishwasher which hasn’t been corrected going on for over a month do to wrong part ordered and the tech was pulled off his scheduled service appointment. This service is not acceptable and not communication about cancellation of appointment. Very disappointed in the service from Home Warranty and their service providers.

I can always reach a live person if I need to and get my issue, make sure my issue has been escalated. When I first moved into my home, rekeying the locks was included in my home warranty and I used, I used it right away and that way I was very confident that no one had any keys to my new residence.

They took 12 days to replace our covered AC during a HEAT WAVE. Literally tried to kill us so we would cave and replace it ourselves. Absolutely horrible and evil people. Wish I could never interact with them again, but I’m under warranty for 3 more years. Worst customer service ever and literally doesn’t give a shit about the people they cover.

Not going well! I’ve been waiting more than a month for my microwave to be replaced! As of 8/4 the service tech sent a report to Home Warranty to tell them the parts are not available because the microwave has been discontinued. I’ve called over 4 times and still nothing. The microwave needs replaced. This is unacceptable as I’ve been a customer for 8 years!!!

This company is terrible. The company they sent out was very unprofessional. They took a week to send someone out to my house when ac went out just to tell me it wasn’t covered due to it being an electrical issue. We haven’t had rain in months and no electrical storms. I had 2 other ac companies come out and state it was old age. I disputed the coverage but they were no help. I canceled my policy right there. They say they will cover no matter the age but that is false.

DO NOT BUY HWA they will NOT cover several problems when they arise. HWA does not cover Hot tubs, and when our Hot water tank went out they have several items that they would not cover to include replacing the drain pan for the new Hot water tank, pipe modifications to connect the Hot water tank. disposal of the old Hot water tank, pressure reduction value. and there are no supervisors to speak with to ask questions. NO NOT USE

Stay away from this company. Too bad one star is lowest, or I would give NO stars. It seems vendors do not want to work for them. Two different vendors refused to work for this company regarding hot water heater replacement after learning that they would not be paid full amount they submitted. The company was only willing to make a partial payment and wanted me to pay additional $650 to technician. This went on for 34 days since claim filed, until I finally decided to drop this company.

HWA is probably the worst company I’ve ever worked with. I live in Az where for the week temperatures have been over 115 I call in a week ago for ac service this was on Monday two days later it was assigned to a local company,waited two days they never call as per agreement. Called in to get the claim re assigned they never did find a company that would take care of my ac problem. This is now 6days later, I had to find nd and pay out of pocket and still no contact from HWA.

This is the worse customer service I have ever encountered. I have been with this company since 2017 and I filed a claim for a leaking sink and it was denied. I had a difficult time reaching an agent that was helpful. I was given the run a round. They denied the claim, then a Case Manager said they would fix the sink. They sent the plumber another email stating that the claim was denied. After speaking to a second Case Manager, she said due to some wording in the contract, they couldn't fix the sink. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone.

Filed a claim for my A/C, and verbiage in the agreement states 24-48 to find a contractor, it has been 7 days, and still no one wants to do business with them. It should tell you how bad of a company they are when contractors do not want to do business with them. They offer a reimbursement option, but that is a bait and switch, and has very specific requirements the contractor themselves must perform to get your money back, which gives them a plethora of excuses to not reimburse you, and blame it all on the contractor, getting you mixed up in a middleman battle.

I contacted HWA 10 days ago about my AC unit not working. They stated they had 24 to 48 hrs to find a technician. 4 days later I got a text saying the tech wold be here in 5 days. Contacted the ac company. They don't contract with AHW. Call HWA oh we will have Ave to take another 24 to 48 hrs to locate another tech. Wish I had checked this company out before. We will see what they come up with next.

I did not like the service provided or the form of attention to the public of this company. Well, when they try to sell a policy, they are excellent at promising that they will help you quickly and without problems. When I made a claim to them, they delayed and made excuses, as well as they looked for all possible obstacles so as not to recognize the expenses incurred for the repair.

First experience with a claim. I am not impressed. Sent someone who is a new “company” (2 guys with an unmarked suv, business card with an incorrect phone number). I was told “HWA gives us a hard time if something needs replaced, they just want a quick fix”. I had another company in the past and was much more impressed.

June 22 AC went out, June 29 AC still not fixed. Temps over 100 degrees. Going into Holiday Weekend. I don't see this getting fixed before then the way they are moving. The tech collected the deductible and I have this feeling in my gut I'm never going to see them again. I have called everyday trying to push this repair of the fan motor. I am seriously considering cancelling this program. Not a happy customer.

Worst home warranty company. Says clearly in my policy that they will fix leaking or broken drain pipes even with corrosion. Submitted a claim, three weeks later it was denied and my appeal was denied because they said the pipe that was installed originally with the house was improperly installed. It’s ridiculous what excuses will be made so this organization can save money.

We tried to file a claim for our 26 year old HVAC system. It was no longer repairable but they denied the claim saying it was Physically Damaged (even though it wasn't)... We sent all documentation, even from the 20+ year professional we hired and he couldn't believe they denied it either. HWA is a scam and joke. Poor customer service. They didn't even find the company for us, we had to find the company to fix our system. We've now been without AC for a month and it's almost July. DO NOT GET A PLAN WITH HOME WARRANTY OF AMERICA!!!!!!

DO NOT BUY HWA. They do not give you a replacement for something they can’t fix. My washer couldn’t be fixed and so they “offered” a $343 Lowe’s gift card. Telling me that is the price they have to replace it, but won’t replace it. I have to pay $350 to get the same washer and $160 to get the smallest cheapest one. They have set replacement prices that you can’t argue about. Take it or leave it.

We received a diamond plan with HWA from the Seller. Even though appliances were in working mechanical conditions, most of our electrical and HVAC claims were denied. The unknown pre-existing condition only applies if the appliances are first tested and approved by a service professional in a working condition. This defeats the whole point of getting a home warranty for a new home owner.

The company has become worse with each passing year. 6 weeks to get a dryer repaired. Replace a built in appliance but do not cover the cost of sales tax, delivery and installation and only provide replacement by gift card at one store. Previous year had A/C out for over 2 weeks in middle of summer before it was repaired properly. So few technicians in my area will work with them that the initial service call on an appliance is taking 7 to 10 days from when the claim is submitted.

Takes forever for them to make a decision on anything. Have been waiting now three weeks for a decision on what to do with my refrigerator that was condemned by the service technician. Support just keeps telling me they are waiting on additional documents for the tech. I call the tech directly and they state they've given HWA everything they asked for. Joke of a warranty company, will not be renewing.
