I hate this company! I am not going to waste my time going into details,because I have wasted enough. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST COMPANY I have ever dealt with. Don't waste your time or money with this company!! They Rescheduled 4 times, open window from 12pm to 5pm at 4:40 call to reschedule. Putted me on the schedule but didnt have my idea on the truck. Waited and waited to speak to someone. Poor customer service!!!! Dont care if you are without a washer or dryer for over a month.

THEY DIDNT HELP OR SOLVE MY APPLIANCE PROBLEM 6 WEEKS LATER MY REFRIDGE STILL HAD NO WORK DONE ON IT.A SIMPLE part that i ended up fixing myself after i gave up on them.Guatamala was their point of contact.meaning they didn't care if your problem was fixed or not a total waste of time and money. Several of my friends had similar bad experiences. 6 weeks later and they were still messing with us on our refrigerator THEY JUST DIDNT CARE THEY TOOK OUR MONEY THEY ARE A BIG SCAM SHAME ON THEM

Terrible. Had an emergency with water pouring out of sink. No one was sent out for 3 days. We had to get someone else because water was flooding our house and we couldn’t wait for their slow service, it was an emergency!!! Then I called to get reimbursement an they wouldn’t pay even though it was their fault for lagging in an emergency situation....water was pouring in the gallons.

I placed a service call on June 12, 2020 someone came out on the 17th my refrigerator couldn’t be fixed they put an order in for a new one. It’s now July 9, 2020 and I’m still going round and round with First American they have offered me the same fridge 2x’s now since they only have 1-3 business days to order it they keep re offering it hmmmm seems to me like I’m getting played. I leave messages and don’t get calls back. I pay my monthly fee and I paid my service call fee I just want my refrigerator. Poor customer service I would definitely question using this company.

They are a total scam. It took them 10 days to figure out that they can't fix my refrigerator (its supposed to be an essential appliance). They say it's in manufacturer's warranty so they can't touch it. Manufacturer covers parts not labor charges. They are reluctant to schedule appointment through manufacturer's technician even if manufacturer is providing the part for free, first american home warranty wants to send their own contractor. Putting us in a deadlock and ultimately paying for the repair out of pocket. What's the use of home warranty?

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. You would do much better to set money aside each month and hire your own repairman. Because you are at the mercy of whoever FAHW contacts out. And the repairman is working for FAHW, not you, the customer. And they are limited to how much they can help you. For example, if you need major repairs for your AC, they may just replace a simple part or put a pound of frion just to appease the customer. And it may take multiple trips before finding out that they cannot help you and won’t necessarily say why. It’s a CON game. Buyer beware.

It would be more fair to show ZERO! Worst service ever seen. I filed a claim about dishwasher failure on 6/11/20. on 6/15/20 a technician came and found that the reason of failure is a motor. He told me the contractor needs an approval from First American Home Warranty to replace the motor or the dishwasher in whole. Since that time, until 7/1/20 nobody contacted me. I left few messages online on their website and countless number of voice messages. No response at all. Be aware!

This company should be coming under legal attack real soon. They are not worth the time or the headache! I have had them for one year and my first claim I put in still hasn’t been fixed and it is cleared to be fixed because it is a covered item on the contract! However 3 and a half WEEKS later I can not get my service completed because they won’t order the parts. And to top it all off no one will respond back to me now. So as far as I know it will never get done and I can’t do anything about it!

Do not buy a warranty from these people. They make big promises but do not deliver. You usually end up paying as much or more than you would without the warranty. The HVAC coverage is especially worthless and they appear to work in conjunction with contractors to pull off repair scams. I don't usually leave bad reviews but this is so bad i couldn't resist.

This company is a complete and total scam. They do not respond to you. They lie to you. My AC went out. I had to call them to assign a contractor and then they said they would send someone out in a week. It’s 90 here. No thank you. Then they said they would approve the person locally who could visit and take care of the issue the next day. All lies. They denied that saying it wasn’t hot enough not to wait a week. Lies lies and more lies. If you use this company you will be scammed. Can’t say it enough!

We just moved into our new home and our air conditioning unit is not functioning. We called First American Home Warranty and they sent a technician out within a couple of days. That was two weeks ago. Every day we call to see when our air will get fixed and they tell us that “It’s in review.” We are sorry we paid for this policy. We are gonna try and get our money back. Complete stone-wall by their company. They must be hurting for funds. STAY AWAY from them! Save your money...

We have been waiting for a replacement/ cash out for our dryer for three months, all while my husband has a serious medical condiition. We were told 1) we would get it repaired in March. 2) Last week we were told they would send us a replacement 3) yesterday we were told they would send us the cash value as they could not find parts 4) Today they are telling us they are finding the parts. 4 different solutions for 3 months and no dryer. Please have someone call me today as I will be reporting this.

First American is horrible. My A/C went out before Memorial Day. First American was prompt to get a technician out right away. That was the last of the prompt service. Parts were ordered and per First American arrived a day or two after Memorial Day. First American decided it was best to not provide authorization to contractor and finish repair. My repair is finally scheduled for 6/16 but I have had to wait 4 weeks to get it done along with filing a complaint with Attorney General. Look somewhere else when shopping for a home warranty.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the WORST Home Warranty and they are truly a FRAUD. The Contractor came to my home to fix a faucet which was making loud noise. When he left, there was a leak. The Home Warranty claim they cannot honor my claim because my contract does not cover faucets, however my contract does cover LEAKS but they refuse to send the contractor back out to fix the leak HE CAUSED! I will be filing a Better Business Claim against American Home Warranty and suing them from not honoring their contractual agreement.

This has been a horrible experience. I have called them numerous times and all I get is the same answer we are waiting on our purchasing department. This has been a week now and still no resolution. When I call customer service the call is routed to a foreign country and I can hardly hear the person and they are hard to understand. When I ask to speak with a supervisor I don't get one.

I made a service request because my A/C was leaking. The first contractor never called me after I made 3 calls. The 2nd contractor came to fix the problem, but it wasn't fixed. The A/C continued to leak causing water damage on the first floor which First American would not cover. Useless policy.

Until now I have had no problems with First American. My a/c will not operate properly and trying to file a claim is like talking to a brick wall. Everyone I talked with will not speak loud enough so they can be heard. Giving them the name of one of the contractors that does their work does absolutely no good. While they babble I sit in the heat. I may have to find another company.

Really bad, went from good company to deal with to deceptive practices and denial of service with a smile, well that what it seemed like over the phone, they were laughing inside while denying my claim, took my money sent a letter saying it was a pre-existing condition then told me the fridge was not covered. No one would pay for a home warranty that didn't cover a fridge. They are changing your service when you renew and excluding things that you were previously covered for without notification and there is nothing you can do about it.

Company is a scam. Don't waste your time or money. Just look through these reviews... They respond with happiness to all 4/5 star reviews but any critique and no response at all! They refuse to cover items specifically listed as covered, send incompetent contractors who try to sell you thousands in unnecessary upgrades after saying they can't get parts, then FAHW makes you get your own contractor to prove theirs was lying. Waste of time and money.

Total scam! This is how it works, you have a leak then you call American home warranty to get it fixed. They charge you $75 deductible. Then they hook you up with a in network plummer. You call the network plummer and set up an appt. My appt was set up 2 weeks from when I called. 2 weeks? Yes !! If you can wait 2 weeks for an active leak then this shady company is for you. And the water damage that happens while waiting 2 weeks is not covered by them. It is designed so you never use it! I paid for a year up front. So I cancelled 5 weeks ago, and I am still waiting for my check!! They don't let you cancel over the phone. You have to send them a email and you never know if they received it. You will never know it's a scam until you try to use the warranty. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

They use companies that pad the bill in other words pay $75 for the company coming out assess the problems and tell you that there are certain things that aren't covered. I had a faucet that needed replacing $20 Part, they wanted to add another hundred and thirty for something they said was not covered I made sure that the part they were saying was no good was good just to see how good this company was it was worth the $75 to pay it and then cancel it

I have been with First American for years and the last two years as been a terrible experience. Seems all the techs must go through an approval process for parts/repair which is pushing all repair out several weeks. Our washer broke on 1/10/20 and it has been over a month and it is still not repaired. Last time was my hot water heater, which also took 3 weeks! First American needs to fix their process or they will lose customers.

We have had this company for a year, In Nov. our oven started to act up. We called the company and we got about 3 different companies to look at the oven. The last person came out and broke my good oven. So on Christmas eve I found out I have no good ovens and I am on the phone with this company for 4 hours. The people have no idea what they are doing at the call center and love to leave you on hold. They say they will call you back and never do. I am still waiting for this issue to be fixed now almost 2 months later.

They are a scam. Apparently they do not cover plumbing stoppages for clogs that do not have a clean out. The contractor refused to clear the storage and asked for $425 to put in a clean out or the stppage will remain. Ome does not have to do with the other. Many older homes.do not have one. I called other plumbers who said that was a rip off and so I had a plumber who.went out and cleared it within 10 minutes. I will.never buy a home warranty from First American ever again. I am a real estate agent and i will.never recommend it to any of my clients ever again

Terrible service. slow and when you call, you get a message to use the website but the website does not do anything except initiate a claim. If you have any problems, you can't reach anyone to resolve it. A single microwave that was determined to not repairable took over a month and it is STILL not delivered. Stay away. I plan to cancel and switch and recommend you not use them at all.

FAHW obviously does not screen their contractors. They sent a contractor that has an F rating with the BBB to my home to repair my AC. I waited 5 months and it was never repaired. The contractor completely ruined my whole system to the point that no other contractor wants to touch it. This is the kind of people they send out to your homes and they can care less about you as a customer.

DO NOT purchase “American home warranty”!!! Make a favor to yourself and don’t lose your money buying this warranty, it is not worth it, you will pay to recibe nothing more than problems, and the worst customer service that you will ever receive. They sent me a plumber who did not know how to repair my shower and he broke it, yes! I only had a water leaking and I finished up with a broken shower. After dozens of calls (that I made because they will never care to call you) they finally say that they are not responsible so they left me with a bigger problem.

Routinely awful experience. Lengthy service returns. Cancellation of appointment without notice. The service technician was supposed to be at my house between 10 and 2. I took off work and they didn't come but when I called they rescheduled for the next day. This was already 10 days from the original report of a claim. Unfortunately, this is more the rule than the exception. Happened my previous claim for a hot water heater as well. Ten days without hot water. Poor. Poor. Poor.

Horrible company. Sent the same incompetent contractor twice. When a qualified contractor was finally sent he condemned our washing machine. In the second visit from (get this) Best experiance appliance repair the technician yelled at us then left and called back to yell again and tell us he quit the company. First american offered us a buyout or replacement unit. Fair enough but the replacement unit was not the same quality and the buyout was $220 less than we could get a lock type machine. 3 weeks to get to this point. Do not use these people.

Horrible company. Worst customer service ever. When I call I repeatedly get people who don’t know or understand anything about the claim/work order! They have bad phone communication skills. Had 2 work orders in for over a month and I kept having to call them to find out when the jobs we’re going to get fixed! Still waiting and nobody has contacted me about the situation! Made numerous phone calls to speak with someone who is incompetent to even be answering the phone! Waste of money, would never recommend this company to anyone!

You will receive a check in the amount of $89.16 First American Home Warranty this is what they will refund you after 2 months and you paid for a year. what a rip off. their service is very slow and they send out people who can not do the repairs and then still want their service fees. take a week to get an ac repaired, more that 5 days to get even get some one to look at your pool and can turn green which will cost you more to repair not them, and you could die of heat before that ac is repaired.

This company is a freaking joke!!! 2 months my air has been broken and all I get is a run around!!! Yes they did reimburse me for ONE window ac unit for my whole house in 90 something degree weather!!! The company fixing my unit Has my part needed and still a run around!!! Back yard one star company and I see why!! Not to mention they were out three months ago to fix my ac unit and didn’t realize it was leaking in a coil so a month later it was ‘still’ broken bc it was never fixed right in the first place!! They were very rude to us and didn’t know how to talk to a customer. He didn’t talk to us in a normal and friendly tone he kept yelling at us. And when we didn’t understand something, he didn’t explain it but just kept yelling. He didn’t even fix anything he just put a new part in, and just left with a check. It was bad customer service overall. Air Logic was a pretty cheap company too.

Terrible. AC has been out for 24 hours and these idiots told me I'd have to wait another 3 days to get it fixed. I've been on and off the phone with them all day, if they're going to waste my time then I'm going to waste theirs. NEVER purchase a warranty through First American. This company is a complete scam. AC went out and they sent a tech out that said I needed a new compressor. But when I called them he said he told them that I just needed to clean it. That's total bull as it rusted out. They are liars that just don't want to pay the claim. Cleaning the unit wouldn't fix it, so it's a complete run around. They don't want to pay. I’ve had coverage through FAHW for 2 years for multiple properties. They choose very low end contractors with terrible ratings for all service requests including HVAC and Plumbing. When the contracted companies inevitable fail to fix issues that are covered by the contractual agreement, FAHW does nothing to remedy the situation. Customer service representatives seem to be trained to say no to any reasonable resolution, and do not care at all about customer retention. Will definitely be switching to another company.

The company is great about making sure they get my monthly fee. However, they send out contractors that don’t seem to know what they are doing, won’t fix the issue and even paint it as something you the homeowner must have done, and in the case of my air conditioner take it apart then refuse to fix it. Don’t bother asking for them to actually fix anything, because they will screw you over.

This is a night mare, when your contractor is not responding to your phone calls and your agent is out of office. no body reads messages and no one will respond. if you call the main number for customer service you will wait a long time then some one will transfer you to your agent who is out of office. more than a month now and my oven has not been fixed. this is absolutely a waste of money and time. I will get a decent contractor and will pay him directly and save my self and my family the stress and the inconvenience. will never by their insurance again.

I am having a TERRIBLE experience! I have paid for this warranty for years. I filed a claim on my AC and when the company could not work with my schedule for an appointment I asked if I could change companies and FAHW stated no. I had to figure out how to meet them. We had an already scheduled time and FAHW cancelled my appointment with them and I was not aware until they did not show up to do the work.

My claim filed June 18th with First American remains unresolved now 7 weeks later. I’ve never had a promised phone call returned, so I have to call in and wade through their phone menu to get to “Customer Service” which has been a waste of my time thus far and a lot of it. Today, I learn that managers don’t take phone calls from customers when I demanded to have this claim escalated. Well, there it is... Managers who don’t accept calls from Customers. This company is simply a bad joke.

I wish I could give them zero starts. In July 2017 they send an AC company that cause damage to my AC (Royal). They sent another company to repair the damage and install a new compressor (Platinum) and it cost $235. That was fine. July 2019 my AC is out again and they sent Platinum and they're saying I need a new compressor again and it will cost $400. First American is saying there is nothing they can do and we have to pay the money. It's horrible service and I'm looking for a new company right now.

They’re unprofessional and contracted with incompetent plumbers. I detected a gas leak and the gas company confirmed it. First American sends out plumbers that “fix it” but the gas company still detects the leak and will not turn on my gas. I’ve been without gas for 3 weeks now. It takes them a week at a time to get an order put in and for a contractor to come out and “fix” the problem. And this is considered their “emergent” schedule. They are also terrible at returning your calls.

Insurance Bad faith: left me without AC for over 35 days in Georgia, in the summer heat, refused to escalate, let service companies miss multiple appointments, weeks of the house over 80 degrees made it uninhabitable. I called a technician on my own outside of the warranty, had it diagnosed same day and System replaced within 5 days. AHW now refusing to reimburse me. By taking my premium and intenionally refusing to diagnose and make my repair, they have committed fraud.
