Any time that I complain about the people not showing up when they're supposed to, they fix the problem. I used it for plumbing. They came out, they took my money $75. They never called me back to fix the problem. Two weeks later, I waited to give them to be patient, I called Home Warranty, and they said "We are so sorry, we're gonna send somebody out and you're not going to have to pay the $75." And so they sent somebody out and they fixed it immediately. That's excellent.

I’ve paid HWA for years before using Them for a claim. This past warranty was for my washer and dryer. The washer has a broken wash tub. HWA won’t cover it. They covered the dryer so far but the appliance company has to come back yet. I hope it doesn’t have another part that HWA won’t pay for. The only other repair that i put a claim in for was for my 50+ year old electric stove that had multiple issues. The repairman said that he asked HWA to replace the stove. HWA refused. I still have a back burner that had collapsed. HWA refused to repair so I still cannot use that. I wish I could recommend HWA. At least their repair people are decent

Due to inflexibility in meeting client needs. I had my water heater in my home go out during a cold snap, and I was unable to get a technician until 6 days after the initial claim was filed. Once the technician did come out, the technician provided all the Information about the water heater. Home Warranty of America and the technician were unable to come to terms meeting with each other, and Home Warranty of America required the process to restart and was gonna take another 48 hours after that which was now 9 days into me filing the claim to get another technician out there. I would have had to pay another service charge and then continue dealing with them in order to get the water heater replaced. It would have likely been more than 2 weeks before the appliance was replaced. While I had no hot water in 5 degree temperatures.

It can be challenging to sometimes get to the right department and to get an actual live person on the line. This last time was very quick and straightforward for the most part. It was definitely a step in the right direction.

I don’t think any of the warranty companies are worth the money. Every time I’ve had to use them it’s been a disappointment because they don’t really cover that much. If you do get e replacement it’s always a cheap brand and the company showing up has poor reviews. Remember you get what you pay for. Better off putting that money into a savings account to use when needed.

I just used it, he was just out today. The only negative was that the call was supposed to be for yesterday. He never came, but he came today, but he had to go through Home Warranty get approval and then order a part.

We have a toilet broken in our house right now it's been broken for about a month. We've been trying to get the company to come out to fix it. There is some discrepancy between what the home warranty wants to pay and what the company thinks they should pay. The company was supposed to come today. They didn't show up, so we still have a broken toilet. Last year we had a broken HVAC system. We had it temporarily recharged with Freon, so they wouldn't fix it until it broke again in exactly the same way this year. It was leaking Freon, so we got to pay twice.

The people you send out here are uncooperative and don't want to come. And when you do a payout, you do it in a very, very small amount. I'm a realtor and I cannot in good conscience recommend Home Warranty of America to my clients.

I had a claim about plumbing work, it was misdocumented by Home Warranty of America. The plumbing company that selected the job came and collected the $75 and took off. No report was submitted to the home warranty. The claim was stuck, not moving forward at all. I called to follow up the customer service said 5 different things. Once they said they would reimburse me my deductible amount. Another time they said they will close the claim if no report was completed within 3 days. I called after 3 days to alert the home warranty to either escalate the problem or close the claim. So I can find another company if possible and pay out of pocket and get reimbursed. The home warranty refused this method because they're an assigned technician. Although they didn't do anything. It's claim no. 4 now, same minor plumbing work order that is being postponed and played over and over.

First claim. Took three weeks to get resolved. I had to call several, and the only way I was able to talk to someone I could actually understand or who could answer my questions was to tell the foreign customer service representative that I wanted to report him and/or cancel my policy. Then, only the repair was done. The damage the unresolved problem caused is on me. Thanks for all the headaches. Hopefully, you will do better next time.

I found the service effective and quick in creating a case for me. However, I was frustrated when they changed the date on my claim, leading to additional costs for the same issue. Customer service was unresponsive and unhelpful, making it difficult to resolve issues. After a leak in the garage, multiple technicians were sent but the job was never completed properly, leading to frustration and additional costs. A technician for air conditioning was a fraud, requiring me to seek repairs independently and fight for reimbursement. Overall, a nightmare experience.

Initially satisfied with the service, my experience declined after the company was bought out. However, a recent pool service was satisfactory. Overall, inconsistency in service quality is concerning.

When you ask some questions about how the process works, they give you the run around. The one time I had a leak, they sent out a plumber and he came and gave an estimate and then he was supposed to be back two days later - he needed to order parts or something. He never showed up and they wouldn't let me get my own plumber. And that took another three days. So in the meantime, I have a leak.

I gave two stars because it took the 3rd repair person to come to my home and tell me that he had to order the parts. When the two before him came out and said they had to call HWA to order the parts and send them to them 🤔. But anyway the 3rd repair person said that he would order the parts as soon as they approve 🤗. But i got a text message that said that they were replacing the refrigerator, and it would take 30 days 🤔, I mind you this was back in October 4th when I reported it to HWA and I'm still having to wait 30 more days and I am still waiting for the e-card for Lowe's to purchase the replacement of my refrigerator and it's Thanksgiving next week 🤔

I had called Home Warranty that my water heater was not working after returning home from a 2 week vacation. The plumber sent out by Home Warranty stated that he could not fix it as it was an electric problem. I then paid the company the $100 co-pay. I called Home Warranty again about my water heater and this time an electrician was sent out. He fixed the problem. But I had to pay a second $100 co-pay even though it was the same problem - my water heater.

First, I’d like to say, I’ve had home warranties for 25 years now and HWA was the best one and ChoiceHome Warranty was by far the worst. What I didn’t know is that Choice has bought HWA. Over the years I’ve needed several repairs and a couple of replacements. The only time I’ve ever been denied is when I had Choice. I’ve never had any problems with the other companies including a furnace replacement in a previous home. So, this time when my furnace needed to be replaced it took 5 weeks to the day from when I filed the initial claim til the day the new furnace was installed. This time frame is completely unacceptable. I live on the Illinois/Wisconsin border and it was October, so it was just “uncomfortable “, but what if it were December? We wouldn’t have been able to stay in the home and probably would have had many other problems, like frozen pipes etc. Even with the approval to replace it, it still cost me $1334 out of pocket for “non covetable costs”. I still think a home warranty is a good idea, but now that I know Choice owns HWA, I will be moving on to a different company. Choice is all about their bottom line not customer service. Denied claims and delays like the one we had as well as the things the require of the contractors before the will cover a claim are ridiculous.

I put in a claim needing a plumber two days passed and I never got a call from somebody confirming they picked up the claim. I was offered the ability to hire my own plumber and I'd be reimbursed for the service. So I hired my own plumber he got me fixed up I paid and submitted the information needed to be reimbursed. But there was no reimbursement. I was told the way the plumber worded his report he left out that he snaked the cleanout which ultimately cleared the clog and only put that he snaked the vent. With that being the only thing he put home warranty wouldn't cover the claim. I guess I should've kept waiting for somebody to pick up the claim through home warranty. But who knows how long that would've been.

I had to use it for the A/C and they got somebody assigned pretty quickly. It's just the people that they chose I don't think are very proficient and I don't think they're very knowledgeable about what they do. I'm sitting here waiting on the A/C guy that they chose to fix my A/C and this is the third week in a row that it's not working and I'm having to wait. Sometimes it's very difficult to get ahold of something on the phone, you have to wait for a while. Although I will say it has gotten better, It used to be really bad, but it has improved.

I looked at several home warranty companies and this one suited me best. The price was right and what they covered was adequate. They do get back very quickly when I have a service request. I needed to use it recently and it was an electrical issue so it was concerning. They got on it right away. A technician came out and was able to fix the problem. The technician was very good. But it was really disappointing to have a large problem and discover that they did not cover the cost at 100%. For instance, whenI had to replace air conditioning, it cost $6000 and they covered $1000 of that.

I’m a home Warranty fan, but Kenny’s Electric is NOT THE ELECTRICIAN you want working for you. He did a terrible job, and I needed another electrician to correct his dangerous and unprofessional work. He did not replace a bad connection box. He used old wires (which had shorted out the box) to reconnect my dishwasher, and he did not ground the wires. It was another disaster waiting to happen. He should have paid me.

Overall, Home Warranty has been decent and has approved my two claims with relatively quick turn around to get a technician out to solve the problems. However, one of the claims they mistakenly noted as just one ceiling fan when it was three ceiling fans which resulted in the technician having to come out twice. Home Warranty wouldn't combine the claims that was their mistake resulting in me having to pay the $75 deductible twice when I should have only paid it once. They did nothing to help solve this problem they created.
