Choice Home Warranty has been a very big disappointment. I am not very happy with them. I called about my water heater and the girl said it was covered and but they told the fellow that submitted the claim that it wasn't. The water heater was one of the big reasons why I even got the warranty. They don't give you what they say they are going to give you and so I am very disappointed.

With most of my claims, I have be given a wait time of 3 to 5 days before their contracted provider can come to my home. When it's an issue of heating or plumbing, that's a long wait! It's faster and easier to call someone locally who can come within 24 hours. Two of my claims have been denied. The reasons given correspond with the contract details; however, they don't seem to correspond with anything the contracted providers said. I was talked into signing up for 3 years in advance with a discount. BIG MISTAKE! I would not recommend this company nor will I renew.

I have had a service technician on the vendor list from Choice Home Warranty come to my property 5 times. Every time they have put a band-aid on the situation and called it good. I've now been forced to get an outside vendor to execute the repair, however, the process to file a claim is extremely cumbersome. Choice will not accept an invoice nor will they call the company that executed the repair. They require the technician to call them, which they refuse because they feel that Choice home warranty is too difficult to work with.

I have an old furnace that is dying, they denied all claims stating that they do not cover defective equipment, the furnace is 20+ years old, they said it had a cracked heat exchanger which would be defective, I could take it to arbitration but had to get proof from a qualified person at my own expense and could take up to 30 days. This is Dec in KY way to cold to wait that long and my wife is handicapped which they knew as well. When I asked Jonathan R about a buy out, that was denied by him as well. Steer clear of these people, if they do not get you for defective parts they will get you on maintenance. Go to Facebook and look up the blog on this company. I have since then cancelled my contract and will be going with a far more reputable company. I will also be making a complaint on the BBB sight as well.

This time I really had bad experience compared to normal. Technician was scheduled 4 days after the claim filing, which was very inconvenient to be left with broken oven during Thanksgiving. Then it took 3 days to inform me of the technician's recommendation to replace the oven. Then comes the worst part of offering me $500 cash (after negotiation) for an oven that costs above $1700 to replace. You claimed that what you are offering is based on the national average cost for you, yet you refused to provide the replacement unit instead of cash. This really violates your promise of replacing the item if it is more cost effective than repairing it. I have been with you for almost 3 years and have 13 policies. I have been mostly satisfied with your service, however, I am very disappointed this time and would probably rethink about renewal of the 13 policies.

Took too long to find a repair person and then they couldn’t make an appointment for over a week away. Took to long to get an appointment. Now a part had to be ordered and it will be another 10 days! I will have been without a dishwasher for a month!

the one star is as much on me as it is how i feel about choice home warranty. had i not assumed the coverage was the same as my previous warranty company i would not have made the purchase. obvious question, why did i change. i was concerned the quality of the repair people was declining. choice has done a great job of defining normal wear and tear to not include much of anything. i salute you for that. i canceled my contract, determining that i was not a good fit for choice.

I would not recommend Choice Home Warranty. First, the coverage they tell you over the phone does not match the coverage provided. Second, they tell you can cancel for a full refund in the first 30 days, however they do not mention that there is a $50 "administration" fee charged if you cancel within that time. I had a built in microwave oven/oven combination unit go bad. It cost me $3,600 for replacement - CHW offered me $500. It was a battle to get them to cover $1,500. Air conditioning quit working, they would not cover. Water Softener, would not cover. Water Heater - would not cover. They tell you they cover, but the list of exclusions are way longer than the list that is covered and covers so very little, it is not worth it. Also, interesting note, they send you surveys and ask for feedback on a scale of 0 (not recommend) to 10 (recommend). If you click on a low score, the survey will not register. If you click on a 10, it registers. Avoid this company at all cost.

I've had several home issues since I became a CHW client in 2016 and they responded in a timely fashion every time ! I never once got the negative response I received from AHS each and every time I called.

On Friday, I called CHW, spoke to a young man by the name of Jay. I explained we were having a problem not only with our shower but also refrigerator. This young man was polite and helpful. I think he's definitely an asset to CHW. He had a plumber here on Monday and appliance person on Tuesday. Yes, we are definitely satisfied with the service we received. Needless to say we will continue to be CHW customers

I would like to rate CHW higher but my experience so far is frustrating. The technician removed the control panel for my oven and gave me no idea when it will be repaired. This really impacts our holiday plans. I am not a happy customer.

I called them for leaking water line for a fridge. And they came promptly did repair and was good for service....i will def Recommend them for issues like this..in future

Some minor things (i.e., bathroom sink faucet) are not covered under the warranty. After 10 years of use, there will be some 'wear & tear'. Also, terrible experience with one of the vendors (All Star Plumbing) regarding a leaky hose on my washing machine (again, after 10 years of use). The technician lied to me about coming back to make the repair that he wrote down as recommended. Not only did he not return, he told the Choice rep that he did his diagnostics and found nothing wrong. .
