I feel that Choice Home Warranty isn't standing behind the home warranty insurance that I bought. They add exclusion to the policy and that is to just about everything. They say that they cover an appliance, but then they go to say that in the exclusion that this isn't covered or that. Before you now it Choice Home Warranty has just taken apart the appliance and their is nothing that is almost covered. You have to argue your statement to them that you pay for a service and they say well in section D, line 8 for instances a toilet. You get the repair man their to your house and he finds that it is broken, unusable. Choice says it is crack porcelain. Not covered.

First scheduled for 11/21, Thursday and no one turned up and when contacted, came to know that it was re-schedules and it was not communicated, wasted my time to taking permission to work from home and have to take permission to work one more day from home. There was details provided why it was re-scheduled? This is a communication gap. Technician came and fixed and happy with his skills, knowledge and identifying the issue and resolved quickly by replacing the disposal. Received call that it was scheduled at 1pm to 4pm, where as technician already fixed and left by 11:15am. Again looks like there is communication gap with Choice and the company that performed the workorder.

Not happy with claims. Seems as if you look for ways not to pay claims. The last two claims have been denied after I had to pay to find out the issue was not covered because of routine maintenance that supposedly was not performed. Very unhappy customer!

I have had this plan for approximately two years. My first claim was for a built-in Microwave that stopped working. They sent a technician out and he confirmed the unit was not working. We had to pay him $65.00 to confirm our claim. A few days later we got a call from Choice offering $150.00 to replace the microwave. I had to hire someone to install the new microwave which I paid $350. for. So labor and material came to $450.00 Very unsatisfactory! My next claim was for an ice maker that stopped working.Choice immediately said they do not cover the ice maker, only the mechanical system of the refrigerator. Again, very unsatisfactory. I would give Choice no stars if I could because they are a scam. And I'm stuck with them with a long term contract.

It took over a week for them to send somebody out and the repairman came and said it needed a new panel and then agreed to replace the dishwasher and the replacement cost $160 which is ridiculous. Shortly there after I had another repair for a garage door opener that was not working properly and this service was done locally and I was very pleased. He figured out that the garage door opener motor would not work properly and he was johnny on the spot and replaced it.

My refrigerator was acting up and they weren't able to fix it completely in range of the warranty, which I didn't really agree with from what they were advertising and I have other cases where they actually did come out and complete the repair so I have pluses and minuses. As far as timing goes, they respond quickly and get somebody out quickly. I will not extend my warranty because there are too many little things they don't cover that I wasn't aware of.

Following up is important and providing progress reports and Choice does all of those things very well. I had a plumbing problem and the plumber was immediately dispatched and came out the next day, cleared up the problem, was very customer friendly, did a tremendous job. We did have an issue once where it was one of our properties and they had to have multiple visits to fix it because the initial person they choice wasn't qualified for that. One of my properties had a problem with the refrigerator and it needed a new thermostat and they are supposed to match within a few hours, which is very precious and the job was fixed within the hour. Their online presence is very good and you can work online, which makes life a lot easier and the response time is generally very good. They are reliable and once we had a problem in the past, it was resolved.

They did respond to me when I called and asked questions. They did the best to help me. I used them for my refrigerator about a year and a half ago. They were good on their end but the person who did the contractor was not good. It took eight days to fix my fridge. I had nine people in this house. It really upset me because they said it would take seven to fourteen days and then I asked if there was any way that can be expedited. And they said that they could pay extra to get it quick. I called to get it expedited and they would not pick up the phone. I called every day for five days. Three times I left messages and they never message me back and then on the day they were supposed to fix the refrigerator, no one came. I called to see what happened and they had said that someone had called and I didn't answer. So they said they they could send someone out the next day first thing in the morning. I called and they had mentioned that the repairman had an emergency and couldn't make it.

Choice was very helpful. I've called up in a number of occasions last year. It's a case where we've had people's schedules and then they don't show up. We're not talking like a couple of days, we're talking scheduling a week later and then you get closer to the date and they cancel and we have to go through the whole process again. To be honest, I haven't really had too many complaints or problems. I think I've only called twice with a couple of minor things and they took care of it right away. One time I needed to use the warranty because I was having problems with the freezer and they got ahold of a tech and sent them out. He was here within twenty four hours and he fixed the problem, it took him about a week to get the part. But when he got the part, he came back and fixed the problem and it's been fine ever since. they've done a very good job by me.

I signed up for a three year/multiple year contract and when I had my first issue, they were very quick to send someone out. I've been pleased with my service so far. Just recently, I needed it for my AC unit. I think I called on a Saturday or Friday and they were able to schedule someone to come out by the end of one week.

They took care of what I needed to have done at my home. The service man that came out fixed both of my problems and so that was kind. I would say it was a good experience. I had my washing machine flooded and when you opened the door, the water came out and went all over the floor. They sent a guy out and he fixed it. It was perfect in every sense. I also had an ice maker that they sent out a repairman for and they fixed it.

I didn't have to wait long and the service was done promptly. My sink clogged and I couldn't get it working and they came and fixed it and I didn't have a problem anymore.They were very prompt on the work and they were very efficient. The people that you talk to when you put the claim in were very polite and concerned about all of the things being done. They respond quickly and follow up with emails which I like. I used it about two weeks ago and had an issue with the air conditioner. They sent somebody out the next day to repair it and it's working fine. The people who have come out have been very professional and knew what they were doing and did good, clean work. I've had one problem early on. I've been with them now for three or four years. There was coverage under my warranty, which the salesman sold me and when I filed the claim, they told me that it was not covered, even though it stated in my policy that it was covered. They offered to pay me for half of my expenses and then removed the coverage completely which I was extremely upset about.

They're always very responsive and I always get somebody out here very quickly. Just recently our hot water heater wasn't working so I called and let them know and it took a week to get somebody here because we live way out in the country. So they guy came out and got it working. There was a part that had to be ordered, we paid $45 and we got hot water. It was that quick and simple. They have used good technicians.

I've had two claims with them and I was a little disappointed in the outcome that they didn't cover it. My AC wasn't working and they sent out an AC tech that determined that it was the thermostat so they had to reschedule it and that didn't work so they sent out another tech which said that it was not the thermostat and it's been working ever since.

Other than the service people they have sent out, it's absolutely wonderful. Most recently, I had a plumbing issue. They got a plumber to come out the same day that I called, which was great. He was very good but he could do the rest of the work, so we needed to get in touch with the contractor that could do the rest of the work. My homeowner's insurance found me a contractor that I've been working with to have walls torn down and they've been wonderful. I got the name from Choice Home Warranty but I couldn't utilize them because they don't cover that type of thing. They have been very prompt in getting back to me when I've had an issue.

It's a quick response. If I have a big problem, I have a supervisor and they're just friendly. There was an issue with my refrigerator. Choice Warranty offered me money towards my repairable fix and then the refrigerator was broken again and they took care of that too. They sent out a new technician and now it's working perfectly. They kind someone qualified. If I tell them to find me somebody right away, they get a different person.

You make an appointment, they follow up with you, everything's good. I only had one bad experience. My refrigerator was not working correctly, I made an appointment. They come and fix it. One company that came did not show up on time. They called me fifteen minutes after the end of the appointment and asked if they could come the next day. The second company came when they were supposed to and fixed it.

We've had to use them twice and both times they were spot on and there were no issues using it. My garbage disposal went out and they sent a technician out. I paid $75 and he found that he did have to swap it out and put in a new garbage disposal. He went to the store and brought it right back and installed it. There was no further cost so I thought that was awesome. I never have to call them back. They take care of everything on the first time.

They are pretty responsive and were able to schedule a technician within a day. The air conditioning was not working so I called the home warranty to check the AC unit. Some of the things were not covered under the warranty and it was not clear why. For instance, the technician when they arrived, the freon level was low and they said they were only allowed to put two pounds or more because of the warranty. I called Choice Home Warranty to get clarification and they kind of explained it but not to my satisfaction. Every time I call them, they are able to pick it up. They were pretty respectful and courteous. I think one time they actually called back to follow up on one of the issues.

We've only had one issue that is still pending. It's taking a while based on the fact that they have been waiting on a part for a dishwasher so we're pleased that it was approved but it's taken a couple of weeks. Choice sent out a repairman and he determined the issue and said it would be a couple days. We waited a few days and we got a message finally that they would send dispatch another technician. This is probably the third week and it just seemed like it took a little while longer than we expected.

If you're in a crisis and you want action, they didn't provide action in a timely manner in my opinion. Last time, I had to use it, I had a clogged toilet. The first repairman came out and didn't fix it so I called Choice Home Warranty and let them know and they said they would get the contractor back out. They set up a date and time for him to come back out and then next thing you know, I get a text from Choice Home Warranty that this other company was going to come out and do it and I didn't understand why the other company didn't come.

I put in a recent call for no heat and it took about three days to get the call picked up. That wasn't acceptable to have to wait that long to even get somebody to refer them to assign the call. I had to call Choice and they escalated it and took another 24 hours so I don't think the response time was very good at all. I'm concerned that that's going to be my problem again.

I could use the online service, but I called. And they were not pushy and they would listen to my problem and then get a company out there very very quickly, like that day. If you get a good person, it is good but it ended up being more of hassle to get help using Choice. There was one particular company that I could not work with and when I asked them to quit putting them with me, they never did anything about it.
