First of all, the contractors that they use are not reliable people. They try to make money from you, and I get ripped off from them and from Choice Home Warranty. Their prices are cheap, and their service is not good.

Their customer support has been good, however, the only problem I've had is the quality of the service the technicians provide. The initially sent out a person to fix my double oven, but he couldn't fix it. They sent somebody else, and that other person said he needed somebody to help him fix it, but the warranty only covered one person, so I had to pay an additional $150 for that. Plus, it took about 3 months for the repair to be completed, so I wasn't happy about that. Besides that, they were pretty competitive in terms of the price for their services.

Everything has been good so far, except for one contractor that I wasn't pleased with. Besides that, every time I needed to use it, they sent someone out. They usually have 2 or 3 people call me, and I just pick the best one, and it's worked out fine.

They've been really good. The appliances that were in the house were old and we've had several service calls, and they've always taken care of it. We've had good repair people to come over as well. The only thing I would recommend is to be sure you read the contract carefully, especially for things that are excluded.

What kind of influenced my decision to go for them was the fact that they had some good reviews online. Most of the time I tried to call them, they would put you on hold for too long. That's aggravating, especially if you're having a problem. When you go online to look up problems on an existing warranty claim, you're not giving much information. Plus, it takes quite a while to hear back from them, so that's a little disconcerting. The only way to get back to you quickly is when they have to tell you that something is not covered. They also told me I had 2 free service calls, but instead, they charged 45 bucks a piece! The only good experience I had was with the electrical technician. He came out and did a great job, but everything changed when my A/C failed. They had to send somebody over more than 3 times, and still didn't solve the problem. It would've been easier if I would've just called a contractor myself, instead of going through Choice Home Warranty.

I used the warranty once to fix my oven, and they sent somebody over right away, however, I was disappointed the next two occasion I used them. My power went out on both occasions, and they said they couldn't do it because they don't do any underground work. They just didn't work out for me, so I'm not sure if I'll be going back to them.

Last time I needed them, they called me back within 24 hours to set up an appointment. The local contractor came over, fixed the problem, and charged me the usual $45 fee and the rest was free. They did a good work. Overall, it's been a very good service. they've always responded in a timely manner; I'm happy to recommend them!

Most of the time, their service has been good. Some of the repair people they send out need to be replaced, but Choice Home Warranty always follows up with you. A few months later after the same appliance broke, they sent another technician out, and I didn't have to pay the $45 fee anymore, so that was a good thing. Besides that, they've been pretty prompt.

The reason I chose them was because they had a good price, and so far, I've had 3 or 4 claims that were very good. They handled them right up front. I'm only upset about my refrigerator they don't want to cover. Apparently, they don't cover seals on a refrigerator, and I don't see that anywhere in my paper work, but that's what they claim. I already called 3 times to get a hold of a supervisor, and she's never available. The service is satisfactory, but not great.

Cancelling their service was not a good experience. My air conditioner was not working well, and the technician finally found the problem. A few wires were touching something else, and nobody ever fixed it. They didn't want to cover it. If I was going to pay for it, I might as well cancel their service as well, and they offered me $400 to stay with them. I decided to cancel instead. At least I American Home would've covered the part, or given me a new A/C. Now I know why they're cheap.

My garbage disposal was not working right, and the technician that came over determined it needed to be replaced. The best part was that it was done right there and then. I've had to use it a few other times as well, and they were very good about taking care of the problem in a timely manner. They also followed up with me, so I've had a really good experience with them. It seems to be a very efficient thing when you call; your problems are quickly taken care of.

Their customer support is wonderful, but it just takes them a long time to answer. I currently have an ongoing claim for a washing machine that I placed over a month ago, and it took them 2 and a half weeks to come out and diagnose the problem. and it took them another week and a half to order the parts. I even went to California and came back, and the problem is still there. It's going to take them another week to make an appointment, and we'll have to go through the process again. We've lived without my washing machine for almost 2 months now. I had the same problem at another home in a different city.

I guess their service is about average. My biggest concern is the wait time. Also, they sent over a technician from the same company over 3 times, but on the 4th time they sent a different contractor and solved the dishwasher's problem. Compared to other companies, Choice Home Warranty has a better price.

I don't recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone. I am waiting until my membership is over so I can get rid of them. They sent somebody over to fix my A/C, and that technician told me they had to replace it. For that, they gave me a deal for $1,500. I called another company, and although I paid $150, they fixed it and my A/C worked the entire summer. This is just a scam! I thought the price was reasonable and that they were reasonable, but their service is just basic. They want to charge you an arm and a leg as well!

They should really be specific on what they cover and don't cover. We had a water heater problem that wouldn't heat up and they wouldn't cover the repair that so we ended up buying our own water heater. We ended paying $600 because they didn't cover the repair. I went with them because they had a decent price for a 5 year contract, but now that this happened everything has been a really negative experience.

We've used the warranty for different situations, and they contacted somebody that came out immediately. Everything has been fit to my liking, and it's all been very good. I was very upset one time though. A technician was supposed to repair my faucet, but he just came over, looked at it without even touching it, and left without doing anything. Choice Home Warranty has always been fairly good with getting someone out there the next day, or at the most, a couple of days. they're pretty good, but they're not so good on telling you what's covered and what's not. I've had to call them back to see why they don't get back to me, only to find out that certain part or service isn't covered. That's not a good business practice, because they had me follow up on them, and not the other way around. Besides that, their customer support has been good, they just need to work on not putting you on hold as much.

Their sales guys just convince you to do a 5-year plan, and now I've heard a lot of complaints from different people. They can't find anybody to work with them because they don't pay the contractors well or something. Plus, nobody seems to be able to file a claim. Once you're able to do so, it's difficult to get a hold of anyone, plus, they don't really return any phone calls. A plumber came to take a look at a leak we have at one of our walls, and as soon as he saw it, he said he couldn't cut into dry wall because they wouldn't pay him. They were supposedly going to send someone out, and I finally called them back after 2 days, and what they told me was that another department was taking care of my case. Even so, nobody has called me back since then. I would never recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone.

There was one time when the electrical panel in my refrigerator wasn't working, and they couldn't pay for it. Sometimes the customer service is good and sometimes it's not, but overall, it's a good company. My main concern is just that they don't fix the whole thing unless certain parts of the appliance is damaged.

They found every reason to decline my claim, saying that it was not meeting a standard they required, when my previous warranties had no problems accepting my claim. There's some kind of loophole in their policy that was not explained to me when I signed up, and they declined everything. On top of that, they still collected my money for the service call. Also, they kept sending the same contractor over and over, even after I had specifically told them not to send the same contractor. It's such a terrible customer service.

Dealing with their representatives has been good and bad. I was having some trouble with my dishwasher right after I purchased the policy, and they didn't want to come out because it was too soon. They finally decided to honor the policy and came out and fixed it. They actually did a good job, but the next time I called to have my refrigerator fixed. That's when I was informed they don't take care of refrigerator plumbing, so I had to go out and buy a new one. I'm afraid of calling them now because they'll probably find an excuse for not coming. Besides that, the price was good; that's actually the reason I chose them.

I chose them because they had a better rate and short response time. They couldn't find a technician the last time I had to use them, so I relied on them to refund the receipt because I had to find my own contractor. I didn't receive it, so I decided to cancel, but when I told their representatives that I wanted to cancel the service, they hung up on me! I referred a couple of my clients to Choice Home Warranty, but they ended up not getting it because their sales people are too aggressive, so this hasn't been the best experience so far.

It's been such a negative experience! I called them to fix my microwave and they wouldn't even answer the phone. I was on hold for an hour when they answered, and the technician they sent over wasn't good either. He said there was no problem with the microwave, so Choice Home Warranty closed the case. I had to pay another technician to come over and fix the problem. Now I'm stuck with them for the next 5 years.
