I used it to go ahead and replace my microwave oven. The appointments once they were made, there was a good follow-up, and they were very punctual. They were not able to repair it. So I was able to get a voucher for Lowe's for $250, and that was appreciated.

It just depends on who you talk to. You don't get the same people to do the service over and over and over, which means if you need a plumber, you may not get that plumber. You can request that plumber, but you have to wait for them. So I'm just saying consistency is a concern.

I had to get involved with a case manager and she wouldn't call me back. And she hardly gave me anything when Choice Home Warranty was sold to me I was told that I would get an appliance of the same value or more. But when my stove went, I got very little money out of it. And I negotiated, and she gave me something that was a small amount of money and I wanted a case manager on it and we went back and forth and I even went as far as to try to connect with the CEO of the company and I did get one of the managers, and he told me it would be taken care of, but it was never taken care of. So I just got after having no stove from before Thanksgiving, till January, I finally settled.

The last time we used it was for the garage door. But we didn't use it because the garage door is not covered. But the garbage disposal, we had someone come out for that, and they did a great job and were able to get there within a couple of days.

I got one thing fixed, and I wanted to get something else fixed in the same room, they said that I had to wait another 30 days before I put another claim in. It didn't really make sense to me, but rules are rules of the book. They are quite prompt in settling the claims and coming out and fixing the things that I'm very pleased with.

Our claim is still not settled for replacing our microwave. Only the partial amount is being replaced and we were of the understanding that the whole appliance (microwave with hood) would be replaced. We were told it would take up to six weeks to receive a credit to use at Lowe’s. We did not find this out until approximately 3 to 4 weeks after first filing our claim. We have been very disappointed with Choice Home Warrenty and this is not the first time. The first time we were disappointed involved a claim for our stove. The gentleman was going to do some additional work involving installing a gas gas line. He asked for $900 up front which we felt comfortable with because he was recommended through Choice Home Warrenty. Well, our bad, we never heard from him again and he would not answer our calls. So needless to say we are extremely disappointed in how our two of our claims have been handled.

Repairs are handled right away and they are performed by professionals. That ,in and of itself, not having to spend your own time researching how to repair whatever is broken, I believe is a great option. I would remember too that nothing is perfect, but a home warranty is a good choice.

Called for service on a faulty water valve. The claimed was denied, but I needed the work done. So I paid the tech to do the work and appealed the decision. After talking to the rep he agreed to pay for the repair. But when I said I already had it repaired by the tech you sent. You again denied my claim. My real estate agent called a contact he knew and was told that you would then write me a check…still waiting on the check almost a month later. Your company is not one that I would ever recommend to anyone!

They respond fast. I think one time we had a problem with the breaker circuit, and they responded so fast and they came and fixed it. And then a problem with the stove, the numbers didn't appear, and they fixed that too.

Way too many communications on signing up for a homewarranty when you already have one. Took way too long for someone to get back to me after my first request for repairs. Had to send another request. Really no communication on how things were going. And when our refrigerator would be fixed. Then a week later said they would be at my home the next day.

The technician was the nicest person in the world, but Sears customer support, well let's just say, when you outsource work to other countries on the other side of the world, they customer service lacks the service part.

I'm not really happy with them. I've had a washer repair scheduled. They came out December on the 20th. He ordered parts, they came about 3 days later. He's scheduled to come back on the 27th. I waited all day that day and the next day and he never showed, and I never heard anything. I called Choice, they said it shows my account I canceled my call, for the service. I said I didn't call anybody to cancel. Why didn't he come? They said 'Well, it's showing cancelled on our end.' And I said, you better look again. So he said, we'll get someone to call you. And I had to call them a second time. And then, of course, there's no telephone number. I tried to do a chat with them. Choice wanted me to fill out my name, number, the washer, the complaint, and pay $65 more. I already paid for it and all this stuff and I just got out of it. So this has not been a good experience at all.

I seem to call off hours when it's less busy for me. And sometimes there's some language issues. Sometimes there's issues where things don't make sense on what they're telling me. I had an issue with the ceiling fan, and I had an issue with light fixtures. And I was told that, even though they're both electrical, they are not considered electrical, one is considered electrical, and one is considered mechanical. And even though the same person comes out to fix them since there are two different issues, electrical, and mechanical, that I am responsible for two co-payments. So that made no sense to me. The gentleman I spoke to couldn't explain why this is the way it is. The people they send out seem to be knowledgeable, they seem to know what they're doing. Those have been all positive experiences with the people that have come out. It's more just the people on the phone.

I had my first time using it in December on my refrigerator. They ordered the part on December 12th, and I believe it was supposed to be installed on December 29th. I do not have the part yet, and it's January 4th. No one can tell me when it's going to be received to fix my ice maker and my refrigerator. I keep trying to call them to see when they're gonna get my parts in, and it's hard to get to them, and they keep telling me to call someone else.

I liked the work done by the Sears representatives, except for the fact they took two weeks to get the part delivered. However, their work was effective and timely once the part was delivered. On the other hand, the NIL technicians did an excellent job replacing my hot water heater. However, the fee I had to agree to pay was exorbitant and covered parts they did not have to install. This smacks of robbery and I was extremely dissatisfied with it. A fee of $250 would have been high but reasonable. The $590 I had to agree to pay was totally ridiculous.

The last project that I asked for help with you couldn’t find anyone to help us. So I filed a claim and I ended up paying for the parts and then I had to find a contract person to fix the April air. Basically it was just a wire not connected. Before that I had a stove that needed a motherboard which kept being back ordered. I bought a new stove then the part came. Got no help in sending it back. I called all the numbers. To get the correct address. At my expense again I sent it to the last address the part came from. So I do hope that this is not the norm.

Sears came out and checked the fridge and told me what was wrong with it and said they would get back swith me. After 3 weeks I had not heard anything. I called choice and was told that it was not covered because it was my secondary refrigerator.. They could not tell me how much it would cost to repair it--said that Sears was supposed to have told me I expected it to be covered because it was the only fridge I had made a claim on. I thought the first one I made a claim on would be covered and that I could not make aclaim on a second one. It would have benefitted Choice to cover this one because it was a simmple fix and my very old "primary" refrigerator wwould cost a lot mor if it had to be replaced. I am disappointed because of that and because nobody called me to tell me that it was not covered and Sears did not tell me how much the repair would cost. Now if Sears comes out to fix it I will have to pay a diagnostic fee even though they have already diagnosed it. In spite of these problems, I still think this is a good company.

My furnace went out on a Sunday a repair person was here late Monday did a 3 hour check of it found a relay that was malfunctioning but the furnace was working new relay was ordered and was replaced on Thursday. You can place your claim on line or an automated system by phone until the repairman called to say he was on his way I did not talk to a person all was done by email, text.

They answer the questions right away. However, at times it's just difficult to understand what they're saying. I don't believe their call centers are here in the U.S., it's somewhere else. A lot of stuff you just have to do through the portal, which is fine, but the one time that I needed them this year, it was a flooding and plumbing situation, it would have been a little bit nicer to have more access to an actual person to talk to. CHW Customer Service is very in experienced. You tell them one thing and when you check to see what has been sent to you, it's all wrong. CHW customer service REPS are only there to make a commission, the more policies they can lie about to get you to purchase, the more money they can make. My experience with CWL three days ago almost broke me to my core, because the Customer Service Rep did not care about me, but only the commission. It's so unfortunate to have to deal with someone like that until it makes you not want to even be bothered with CWL at all. Fortunate for me I had to go all the way to the top for someone to understand and fix the mess the Customer Service Rep made. Overall, the issues were resolved, but it was very frustrating and painful. I have multiple contracts with CWL that are expiring and after this experience, I hesitate to continue with CWL because the of all the frustration from inexperienced Customer Service Representative wo cannot get it right which is NOT HEALTHY FOR THE CONSUMER.

During the period I have had Choice Warranty their response to my issues was efficient and fast! They were easy to work with and they understood my issues. They had problems on one occasion to find a suitable Plumber but this was during Covid and on my latest request it was dealt with very efficiently. Only issue was minor coordination issues between Choice Customer Service and the Contractor on scheduling which was resolved. I would recommend Choice as a reliable company and nice to have when costly issues arise.

They got high grades there, however I feel taking the time and resending another technician for a second opinion maybe needed to avoid HIGH replacement costs. Being a widow, I cannot keep replacing appliances, just too expensive plus the headache of purchasing and replacing the old appliances.

It's a little hard to get the customer service online, so I do a lot of by messaging. I put in work orders through a weekend online and Choice Warranty was looking for contractors pretty fast throughout the weekend. So everything was done pretty much by Monday or Tuesday of that week. So I knew who was going to do the work. The only thing is the contractors most of the time didn't have pictures of the work that needs to be done on my side of the house.

I've been with them for a few years for four properties that I own and overall I'm very satisfied with them. A year or so ago in a property that I have the water heater needed to be changed because it wasn't working. I think we had to pay some, but they did a good job and they they exchanged it. And so I think overall it's a good service for the amount of co-pay that we have.

I've used my warranty, and I was able to get someone to come out and do the repair and everything worked well. They do a pretty good job, but there are times where they are not doing the best job and their policies and procedures are not in the best interests of their clients. They don't pay for all of the repairs and they don't replace the item at the value that you can purchase it at if they have to give you a replacement.
