Choice quickly sets up a repair service call but the service companies don't always repair the problems quickly. It seems they put you down in the cue. This service took five days for the service company to complete but the result was fine.

I got the email with your survey on the same day I was going to call to see if I can cancel the rest of my warranty with your company. I researched several home warranty companies before choosing CHW. Your customer service department is excellent, otherwise it would have been a one-star rating. The main reason I purchased a home warranty was to offset the cost of large repairs, like a bad AC unit. Well my downstairs unit stopped working, after the initial evaluation of low coolant, I found out that you don't cover the leak check, and you won't cover the replacement of the coil that caused the problem. You should elimitate AC repair from what your company covers, since it really doesn't

Horrible company! They will not repair, they send out contractors with horrible BBB ratings and their customer service is not that great. Every service request I turned in there was always some loophole as why they would not pay the repairs. After the service fee was paid, technician turns in repair quote to Choice, and they always find a reason not to honor the repairs. There are a lot of customers of this company that have experienced the same problem with them. The BBB has nearly 600 complaints against this company. And they will not refund your money if you try to cancel. Stay away from Choice. They are the WORST choice.

I had a purchased this warranty for a piece of mind instead I was under a lot of stress. I initially put in a claim due to my air conditioner not working and they sent someone out here to inspect. the inspector away told me that my home warranty would deny getting a further inspection of why it was faulty, mind you that I paid for a policy for 6 years. speaking to the representative they indicated that someone like me it would be over looks and covered for the $287 to find if there was a leak of freon in my system. after two days a two techs came out and said that there was a leak and that they submitted a claim to choice which in turn my say there is corrosion to deny the claim which they indicated there was none by that is what they would say to deny the claim. I called to cancel my policy in which they offered $400 to go into repairs and told me to get in contact with the repair company. which in turn told me that it would be a $187 repair. I asked well won't it need freon as well if there is a leak? The person I spoke to then said "oh right wait let me speak to the field tech again." I got a call back about 1 hour later giving me an estimate of $1,187 roughly. I'm thinking how did it go from $187 to $1,187. I called home choice warranty again and they initially raised my repair contribution from $400 to $600. I told them keep your money just cancel my policy. The person I spoke to then was very friendly and said "I really want to help, let me see what I can do and call you back." He called me back and said I had two options I can receive a $1,000 credit towards fixing or I could get a new unit and get 1,000 towards the new unit. I asked how much the new would be and he said it would take one hour or maximum two hours to get back to me. Never got a call that day. next day Lenisha employee number 1852414 calls me with an attitude tell me that $600 had been authorized and I tried explaining was I was waiting on from the previous day, She very rudely said well you're only authorized for $600 and we are waiting for a response from the repair company. I asked to speak to someone else and for her information. she said "there is no one else here, I am the person you need to be speaking to." i told her that there was a lack of communication within Choice home warranty employees and that I would like to just cancel my policy. she let me know i would get my refund between 15 to 30 days. This is something I purchased to get piece of mind. you will always get denied unless you have an extended policy as I did and even then they will give you the run around and have you on hold for hours to waste your time. nothing was fixed! I also received and e-mail saying to give them a good review and in turn i would receive one extra month of coverage and that they would only use my review if in turn they saw it fit in benefit to their company.

This warranty company is TERRIBLE!! They will fight tooth and nail to deny ANYTHING they possible can. They fought me to cover my water heater because it was "old"... duhh, thats why people buy warranties. They ended up covering it on "good faith efforts" but still claimed they would typically deny that claim. It even mentions in their operator message it doesnt matter how old your mechanicals or appliances are. This was border line fraudulent. I had to send them a copy of my home inspection (even though their policy states clearly you dont need an inspection) and also provided them with 2 other plumbers remarks stating the water heater was no longer working, and leaking, and they STILL fought me tooth and nail. Now I have a heater exhaust fan making a ton of noise. Their denying it because "there is no mechanical failure!!" If I get a car warranty my brakes are making noise, are they going to deny it because "theres no mechanical failure??" No, of course not. I'm trying to sell this home, it will not pass inspection due to the noise the exhaust fan is making. I'm now in the process of battling this one out as well....... to be continued.

Whenever I called for any service, they would come up and find an excuse or something to say that the issue was not covered. They would not replace or fix anything. They never explained that thoroughly when I first bought the service. I guess in general they are ok, but there are so many issues that Choice Home Warranty won't cover. I was really close to canceling my service this month, but when I tried to cancel they said they'd just give me 6 or 7 hundred after I had paid $2,400 for 5 years of service.

I don't think they're very helpful at all. I needed to use my warranty for my refrigerator and freezer. Choice said that the parts needed to fix them were not covered, so the company that they sent out didn't do any repairs. They never contacted me about that again.

I initially went with them because their initial costs were lower, and one of their agents convinced me to sign for 5 years. I hoped it would be helpful for me. I'm not very happy at all to be honest. Anytime something happened, they gave me a hard time and I had to fight back for them to do anything. One example was with my AC. In July, there was a leak in the coil, so we called them. They sent a person who came, said the coil was leaking, and told me they would talk to Choice Warranty. They came back and said that Choice was not going to cover it. I had it fixed out of my own pocket, and it costed me $3,000. They gave me $300 to cover that, but that felt like I got slapped on the face. It has been a bad, bad, bad, bad experience. I would like to cancel the whole thing, to move to another company. Still, anytime I try to cancel it, they give me a hard time. I am stuck now because I paid for 5 years.

So far it has been great, though we later discovered that this and that thing were not covered. That disappointed us. We have used them about 5 times and my issues have only been covered 2 out of those 5 times. Also, sometimes when we call the contractors, they don't respond, or at least they don't respond right away. Though the last experience we had with them, the person that came was great. He gave us exceptional service and came here on time.

I got them because I felt that it was the best fit for us. We've had two issues, two separate problems with the house. All I had to do was call them, a guy came out and he did the repairs. I think they are a good company and I'm impressed with their response time and performance. The two different companies that they have sent out were good. I think the 3 years program that they have is particularly good. We're very satisfied with the work that they've done.

My experience with customer support has been very bad, very poor. I once called them because my air conditioner was not working. After about 4 weeks of back and forth, with them saying they would not cover it, they finally said ok and agreed to cover it partially. They would pay for the part, but only if I chose their vendor to do the installation and everything. When their vendor came to fix it, they asked for $300 or $400 for the installation. He told me that if I wanted it done then, that would be the price because it was a holiday! I went ahead and paid the extra because I needed it. By the time it was fixed I had already been out of AC for almost the whole month of June and some of May. Some 8-9 months later I decided to get a tune-up so that they wouldn't decline my service in the future. I called the installers and the company, but I never got a reply back or anything. I ended up calling another licensed company to take care of my tune up. When that company came, they looked at my AC and told me that Choice Warranty had not done the job properly according to city code. I had no idea of course. I tried calling Choice Warranty so that they would contact the vendor to make sure he came back and did the job right. All they did was say that they couldn't do anything at that point, that it was all in my hands. They're not doing anything at all.

I've had mixed experiences with them. One time, for example, I had one of their trade people come out and give me what I considered to be an outrageous estimate for the work. I contacted a licensed person in my city and state and got a totally different read on what was wrong and the pricing. I paid that person out of my own pocket and took it up to customer service. They paid me back for that after reviewing the whole thing. I had different experience with my garbage disposal. It wouldn't start but by the next working day a young man came out and changed it. It was great and worked fine. Yet another time, my AC was not acting right. I called them and they said they had to check my free arm lever check and that they would charge me $400 for that. In the end the young man didn't even take the thing apart. I was very unhappy with that one. As for customer service, the people that I have spoken to have been receptive and listened to what I had to say. I appreciate them because if there's a problem with the approved person or company that does the repair, they deal with that.

So far it has been mixed. Most of the time it has been good, only one time it took very long for them to find somebody to provide me service. My drain was clogged in one of the bathrooms, so I called them. They were trying to send somebody but couldn't find any one. It took a week or more to get that fixed. You know, there are some things that are not covered that I didn't know because I did not read the whole contract. I've questioned why did they not cover those things, but I don't know if it is the same for other insurances.

They are reasonably good. I had an experience recently when my microwave quit working. Initially they didn't want to service it because they considered it a countertop unit, even though it was a built in microwave unit. Eventually they agreed to fixing it and it got resolved. In the end that was a good experience.
