The worst decision I ever made was to go with Choice. I will make sure to tell whoever I can to not go with Choice. The sales person mentioned that any claim will be assigned to a technician within 24 - 48 hours and I had to wait for more than 15 days and even after that there was no movement. Customer service is the worst. I cancelled my policy because I was so fed up.

Said my freezer would cost too much to fix so they would purchase me a new one. Cut a check $482.(that I'll have to wait 15-30 days for). Replacement cost is $800, and that's on sale. Make it make sense. Not the best Home Warranty company in my opinion! Patrick H

I experienced a plumbing emergency and waited 4 days before a contractor was assigned.. I cancelled the claim, paid for another contractor to come out (arrived within 1hour) . Currently vetting other companies to provide a home warranty service that responds in a more timely manner. Also, had a claim for my washer and still waiting for payment to buy a new one (over a month)

This last claim is not resolved and I do see the urgency from CHW to respond and resolve it. My dryer has been out for a week even though CHW had approved the repair parts but the vendor says he’s waiting on the part to be delivered to whom??? The parts store has the part, and still my dryer is broke

Choice Home Warranty looks for ways to not approve claims. I have purchased multiple home "warranty" coverages from them throughout the years, and recently, the denied claims are becoming more frequent. For example, although the wiring was intact, a claim for an oven control board was denied due to roach droppings on the board. Thousands of dollars have been spent on a multi-year contract, but Choice denied a claim that would have cost a couple of hundred dollars. Such decisions on claims makes one wonder if a home warranty is a good and practical investment.

The two times I file claim I have to cancel because they do not have providers in the area. One other time they send someone from Austin when we have the property in San Antonio, the electrician did not complete the job and place a follow up 3 weeks down the road, have to hire somebody else to fix the problem. Do not fall this company they are not good, same bad service like the other companies in this business.

"Hidden fees" I believe that CHW Needs to have better line communication with the technicians that they to customers homes to do work..as well as letting the customers know upfront whom filed a claim, what or if any out of pocket expenses would be present

UNACCEPTABLE -- Up until now we had great service with Choice Home warranty. We have had a claim pending for a gas dryer since September and still not resolved. You have contracted with Sears Repair service and have set 5 appointments that are no shows; we don't get a cancellation notice until sometimes after 4 p.m. This is UNACCEPTABLE. My husband has taken off 5 days of work to be there for this service call. You need to get someone else to do your subcontracting. This is deer season, he's is livid. What is going on with this? Now they've reset it for Tuesday 11-26. Thanksgiving week. I am really disgusted. Sorry to vent, this is not acceptable. If I hadn't paid over $2,000 for this warranty I would have retained my own repair person and doing laundry at my own home for the last 2 months. Going to the laundromat or hanging things up on a hanger to dry is getting really old. You need to address this situation.

You should know, because I voiced my dissatisfaction when appealing a claim. It was for a dishwasher, the first tech came, took the part and never followed up. The second one came over, and processed the claim. It was denied! She was very surprised herself. I first spoke to a claim specialist that told me that it was because the part was missing , and it was my responsibility based on the contract! We argue because I told her it was your tech that you sent, who took the part. Then spoke to another Manager who told me that it was not that, but because it was not normal wear and tear. I googled it, and a lot of people had the same issue, so? I wanted to cancel my insurance with you, but I was told I would not get any refund? This is not what I was told when someone convince me to buy it for three year, with the assurance that I could cancel anytime, reason why I bought it for three years. Next I order the part myself, ($50) and fixed it myself. The result: I am a very upset customer, (Real Estate Agent) for a very small intervention that you did not cover for lame reasons.

I feel like it's worth it, but often difficult to get the right person out for the job. Also, even if a repair was approved, I would have to pay a significant out of pocket amount for "uncovered items". It took 8 visits and as many months to get my refrigerator fixed. While it was covered, it was done very inefficiently.

I can get faster service on my own. Not saying cheaper service. But when you file a claim on a garage door opener and you get a service appointment for 2 weeks later. And they think that's a service?? You would think customer service would reach out to you and see if like maybe your car is locked in the garage and you would be without a car for that long. No there was no communication at all except feedback requests. Well here is your feedback. I never give feedback until the service is complete. But you wanted it so here you go. Effective immediately i want my contract cancelled. Do not attempt to charge my card again.

I am extremely DISSATISFIED with this service. Not only is customer service lacking, the contracted service providers are also of inferior quality. The AC company told me I had a loose wire connection and waited 3 days to tell me they were denying coverage. I had a different company evaluate it. They told me it was a burned mother board. When I called them back, they refused to covet it as I did not have THEIR contractors evaluated it. I live in Florida with my 90 year old mother and pets. Two weeks without air after 2 hurricanes is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Currently I have now been waiting 3 weeks for an electrical repair. It was approved but yet again the inferior contractors did not initiate service once they were advised, made appointments to do the service and failed twice to arrive. When I called, I was told they had skipped my house as they did not have the outlets or switches on the work van. The second time they never showed up. Neither instance did they bother to notify me. As soon as this service is completed. I will be canceling and demanding a refund. To add insult to injury, my case manager has yet to return a phone call or an email. Thus company and its contracted service providers are awful. I am extremely disappointed.

choice home warranty does not care about their customers!!! we have had our air conditioning down since July and they keep setting up service with vendors who no longer work with them. My microwave have been told to them by a Sears technician that it needs to be replaced and yet they have not given me a replacement and it’s been over two months now. They will not let you speak to a supervisor to have this escalated to get taken care of. Choice Home warranty is so terrible that my wife and just want to take a loss on our prepaid warranty and just pay everything out of pocket. We have wasted our money and a lot of time
