The Choice Home Warranty claim process is as follows:

  1. Make a claim by phone or online through your customer portal account.
  2. Choice Home Warranty will begin contacting service providers upon receiving your claim. Within 48 hours you should receive the name and contact information of a contractor, as well as a confirmed appointment time.
  3. The contractor will come and perform the requested service. You will pay the $85 service fee.

It’s definitely worth it when getting an older house that’s expected to have issues especially with dual HVAC systems. The claim process can be slow for some claims but overall I’m glad I have it. Had some minor issues on a microwave claim but had 3 others that had no real issues. I’d rather have it versus not having it.

I'd notified Choice that the tub needing repair was a therapy tub. A faucet needed repair. The provider is allotted a specific amount for a faucet cartridge, but the faucet cartridge for therapy tubs costs $100+. I feel Choice should have taken that into consideration because I, the insured, had to pay for the more expensive cartridge myself.

Once you get a Technician at your home, they do an excellent Job. The problem is with getting a response that doesn’t take 2-3 weeks to get you help. Also I had an appointment canceled and rescheduled the day they were supposed to come out after waiting 2 weeks. You need a website dedicated to customer complaints and you might learn something. I had this a few years ago and I liked it a lot, you could pick your own Tech. , the tech. Would call in and CHW would approve the bill, simple. When you call to report a problem, it sounds like a crowded room of immigrants who can’t understand anything. That’s the main problem, communication.

choice home warranty is real quick to take the money out of my bank account and on time every month had a warranty problem with dryer they oked paying for the dryer but said it would take 30 days to get a voucher from them so we could purchase a new dryer why not just cut the customer a check and be done with it plus we could have just purchased the new dryer now we have to wait 30 days for them to email a voucher and we take it to lowes and still have to put money with it to get the new dryer after a months wait. There is no reason for them to take that long.

Choice Home Warranty hs treated us very well this year in that they have helped us replace a roof mounted AC/Heating unit, a kitchen faucet and a refrigerator. In some cases it has taken quite some time for the process to be completed. While I understand the reasons for some of the delays, I am still a bit disappointed I how much time it does take. However, ido highly recommend CHW to anyone in the market for a home warranty policy.

Once I reaches out to Choice they had a repairman come out in 2 days to diagnose the problem. He ordered the replacement parts for the dryer. We were very pleased from beginning to end. My out of pocket expense was $85. Overall this has been a positive experience. I was offered to choose and contact the repairman I wanted and once approved and repairs completed I was to submit my receipt for reimbursement. There is a small learning curve to the process as a new customer but they communicate frequently and help you to successfully submit a claim for reimbursement. I am glad that I purchased the Home Warranty through Choice Home Warranty and have already signed up for another year. It has only been a few days since submitting my request so the check hasn’t arrived but I am confident that this will work just as seamlessly. I had an issue with my refrigerator. They did come out several times to work on it. It had a twofold issue. Inside top would stay cool. I had tons of food, spoil and almost had a gallon at milk, blow up. And also the ice maker would not work. The icemaker was covered under warranty due to a recall. Samsung declared the ice maker not repairable. So after that Choice, home warranty would not come and fix the Refrigerator cooling part. So I had to spend money. I did not have to replace my refrigerator. Now the good part. My AC quit working right when we were having the heat waves. They had somebody out the next day to repair it, and all is good. Overall choice warranty is very good. I think every time I have called. They have been here the next day. And the online portal is great!

I had two calls so far. The dryer could not be fixed and a gift card was issued for Lowes, however, the amount for a replacement was only $388.00, which is not enough for a new dryer. I disliked the fact that I had to wait over 2 weeks for service to my heating and air conditioning . The problem was no one in my area to fix the unit, but overall they did fix it and I was pleased. I would recommend Choice to all, as I have been with them for about 10 years maybe longer. I have had about 7 calls for service and it has been about 50/50 for repairs made to my satisfaction or they have replaced such things as hot water heater, garbage disposal, washing machine and microwave over the stove . Been with Choice Home Warranty since 2014. Never had a problem with them when making a claim for one of my systems, A/C mostly, until I needed to replace my A/C system. From the time the technician came and said I needed a new A/C system and put in the claim, Choice Home Warranty gave me the run-around. I live in Nevada, the temperature is in the triple digits, 110 to 118 degrees. Each time I contacted Choice, they told me they were waiting for the technician to give them information. This went on for 2 weeks. I'm melting! They kept trying to have the technician use a cheaper model that was not up to code in this area. I contacted Choice and requested to speak to a manager. While talking to the manager, I asked him if Choice was stalling because it cost more for the right unit and the approved out-of-pocket cost that they quoted me would not be enough. He said that was the reason for the delay. I told him the I knew that it would probably cost me more out-of-pocket and said I could work with that. The next thing I know is that Choice sent me a new out-of-pocket cost quote of over $9300.00. I talked to the technician and he told me the whole cost for the unit and installation was only a little over $8300.00. Choice then had the nerve to tell me that they were paying $600.00 for the air handler. There was no separate air handler. It's not a side-by-side unit but an all inclusive single unit. More bulls**t from Choice. This works out to me paying for everything plus an extra $1000.00 plus to Choice for giving me the run-around. I tried to talk to another or the same manager I had talked to previously and got a "Case Manager" that kept telling me I had to pay the more than $9300.00 amount even after I explained that it did not cost that much for the unit plus installation. I asked to speak to her supervisor and was told the she did not have a supervisor because she was the Case Manager. After about 30 to 45 minutes of this bull, I told her to cancel my policy and refund my remaining balance which I received today. I used that to purchase my NEW A/C unit at just a little over $8300.00 and it works fine.

I have made two service calls since signing up for the warranty. One was for a dishwasher and one for garbage disposal. Getting a technician scheduled to come worked out well and the plumber for the garbage disposal literally came into business days and resolved the issue within 10 minutes. The concern I have is over the repair that was needed for the dishwasher. Only one of the three parts that required replacement were covered by the warranty. I had to pay for the two other parts totaling over $230.

LOVED the ease of the online request to fix my appliance, and evaluation of my appliance. Very DISAPPOINTED in the initial AMOUNT and final AMOUNT of the LOWE'S GIFT CARD offer. Initially, I was offered only $329.00 for an oven valued at over $2,000. Then, after escalating the issue, Victoria was able to increase my Lowe's gift card to $1,012.00. Unfortunately, that was not enough to cover my new oven and installation, but at least I was able to purchase a NEW, lower-end, 27" oven.

Had a plumbing problem and put in a request for service. I got an email from choice saying that a plumber was coming That day and it was 1 PM when I got it! I never received a phone call from the company or a follow up from choice. Very frustrating. I ended up putting three bottles of liquid plumber down the drain to limp it along. When I signed up also for the five-year plan, they promised me to extra services. When I called and tried to use one of the services a year and a half into the five years, they said that I didn’t have that service available to me unbelievably frustrating to pay that much in advance and not have the service.

I've used the warranty service 3 times, the first I thought was very bad as I had a micro wave quit and Choice would not repair or install a new unit instead they gave a cash settlement for the cheapest SS model available leaving me to install the micro wave. The second and third times I used Choice were for AC problems and both times the service was superior, but due to the micro wave problem I couldn't give a five star rating, although the two AC repairs were both 5 stars.

I have had mixed experiences with Choice Warranty, most of them unsatisfactory. When submitting a claim, it has taken a week or longer for a technician to arrive. The communication with the technicians has been difficult. If you are in no rush, Choice Warranty may be a good choice. But, I have been without a functioning washing machine for over a month now. My understating was that if an appliance was unable to be repaired, it would be replaced. That is not the case. With my washing machine which can not be repaired, they sent me a gift card to Lowe’s for $343. Here are no washing machines for that price.

I've had a warranty in place for 2-1/2 years. This is the first time I've used it. The old Kenmore washer that came with the house was making a huge racket and shaking hard on the spin cycle. The repairman adjusted the rear legs, which reduced the noise and shaking but hasn't eliminated it. I guess it will have to break down completely before I can get a replacement. It also appears that Sears (whose repairman was sent) is overbooking their people; the repairman was 2-1/2 hours late for my afternoon appointment.

Customer service is atrocious. The sales people lie to you about what they're going to cover, even after you tell them you need a specific coverage. Only to find out when filing a claim that the claim is denied for not being covered and say you can add at next renewal but now they know there is an issue so future claims are automatically denied on that item.

I do not like that I have to wait up to 30 days to receive my buy out money so I can replace my washing machine. I'm disabled and on a tight budget and with 4th of July sales I would be paying less out of pocket if I had my promised money. It's been 2 weeks and still no 343.00 Lowes e card. Very disappointed with all this! As for sending technician out was great.

Choice Home Warranty is very straightforward with what is covered and what is not. So you know upfront if you should submit a claim or not. And the items they don't cover are mainly parts that go through a lot of wear and tear, so I wouldn't expect them to be covered in the first place.

From the time I made the phone call to make a claim, everything went very smoothly, they had a technician out the very same day. He diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. Came back as soon as the part was in and fixed the problem with my microwave. I was very happy with the service I received . Thee red service was amazing

I have issues with submitting a claim. Each time I called and was told to hold or I would get a callback. As soon as I hung up I received a callback but still not connected to the right person. After being transferred and called back three times I finally reached the correct person. Also, may I ask should I receive a receipt for my services and payment? Please let me know. TY

Loved Corridor plumbing...I had to call choice warranty 4 times over 7 days before they had a provider...went 10 days not able to use our downstairs toilet. They would tell me they would call back and did not. When Corridor took the job they erred great!

Choice has a seamless process for claims and reimbursement. I had an ease of time requesting assistance and when they couldn’t provide a tech to assist they allowed me to find my own and reimbursed the claims without conflict. So happy with my service over the past 3 years.

This is my second Warranty issue on the same Microwave within two weeks. Both of my encounters were excellent. Unfortunately, the first serve call didn't work out. A computer board was replaced , but that did not resolve the complete problem and required a second service call [#246554220] 7/10//24. That call determined that the computer board was faulty and a new board would be ordered. Than new Appointment is set for 7/24/24 7am-11am [Progress AC & Appliances LLC]. I was charged $75 for each Technician Service Call for the same problem or the same piece of appliance within about 2 weeks. Putting all that aside, I am very happy with Choice Home Warranty's responses. I even recommended, within the last 10 days, your service to my friend, David K. T. and he took a 3 year policy.

I recently reached out to this company for some help, and after a bit of a bumpy start with getting a response, they eventually got back to me and are hopefully working on resolving my issue.
