I believe the problem is on Lowes’s end, the problem is getting the item located in the ware house having it pulled processed for p/u and then finding A local company to do the pick up and installation. I would do it myself but it would jeopardize any further AHS involvement and I’m having some health issues. Help on your end could expedite. My last interaction with AHS went smoothly, I thought the problem resolved, Apparently not! Please help, it’s been months. I possible gave an overall “5” rating to to one of your specialists thinking it was the best possible. The lady did a great job

It is nice to have a home warranty program to manage those unanticipated repair bills. That said AHS is really just a broker of hundreds if not thousands of local repair specialists and what typically happens is AHS reaches out to their network of repair specialists who you then have to wait for their respective appointment scheduling process just to get a troubleshooting appointment scheduled. That can be 2 to weeks out. Then once the technician arrives and completes the troubleshooting then he/she/they have to submit a report to AHS when then determines whether or not the problem is covered if yes then AHS must approve of any parts required. So all told it can take several weeks to get a covered repair completed. If you have a larger appliance like a hot water heater, oven, stove or other code regulated appliance ( i.e. , one that requires a government issued permit and inspection) you could be facing some big out of pocket expenses for the permitting and inspection and any upgrades required to meet new/update code requirements if you don’t have the top of the line warranty plan (Platinum Shield). The other thing to be aware of is there appears to be a shortage of qualified certain types of appliance repair techs across the country and OEMs give priority response to customers who purchased extended warranties vs AHS customers.

Overall AHS had been a great help to us in our time of need. There are some things that could probably be improved. For example we called regarding our A/C being out. The company AHS use to care for their service calls was closed. (It was after hours) It’s the middle of the summer here in Texas. We would have had to wait until the next day to even be scheduled. We ended up using a company that would come out that evening but had to paid full price. :-(

I loved the ease of this plan, however, the rates went up so high on my yearly renewal that had to call to cancel my policy. I am newly retired and just cannot afford such a large increase. When I called I could NOT just cancel my policy without the hassle of negotiating over and over only to be transferred to someone else that started negotiating AGAIN. Ok I have to admit that the negotiation ended up cheaper than what I was already paying, so of course I accepted. Lo and behold the first payment was not the negotiated price but the original! I was so angry After MANY times verifying my information to several people. I finally got a very nice guy who instantly canceled my policy and requested a refund for me . So now I am without any coverage and I don’t like it

The plusses are that it is nice that when something breaks, it is covered and that AHS responds quickly with a repair service. The minuses are that it can take some time to get something repaired because AHS must approve the repair and, in many cases, provide parts from its stock of parts. This can easily take an extra week. Not great if your heater breaks in the winter. Another large minus is that they don't cover code changes. You would think that this only applies to structures, but it also applies to things like water heaters and pool pumps! The disallowed amount for code changes seems totally random. AHS does not itemize the repairs, they just tell you your co-pay is $xxx, take it or leave it.

We’ve been pretty happy with American Home Shield with the exception of a recent experience, where a repair was completed only for us to learn a month later to have the same issue occur because it wasn’t done correctly the first time. As a result, we had to come out of pocket for another service fee, which I feel should have been covered by American Home Shield due to the fact that the issue was not resolved the first time. Instead of having a blanket process of requiring a service fee if more than 30 days, there should be a review on a case by case basis to make a fair assessment.

I have had a generally overall good experience with American Home Shield. Their customer service when I have had issues has been positive and responded well. I have had good experience with their contractors with the exception of one. It took a multiple visits and contractors to fix one of my issues. In the end they got it done though. I do feel their monthly cost is getting a little high though, especially when there is the service fee attached.

I have had a couple of really bad technicians sent by AHS. The worst one was from Appliance Care Experts (ACE) in southern Arizona. The technician was sent by AHS to repair our clothes dryer. The technician's name is Bryan. He told us he could not see because of his cataracts. He did not bring a light other than the one on his cell phone. He dropped his cell phone into out dryer when he had the dryer open to repair it and that cursed and cursed. He never repaired the dryer. He actually made it worse. He brought the wrong part. He sat down on the floor of our laundry room and cursed. In my opinion, AHS should not send ACE to anyone's home. The technician was about as far from an expert as I can imagine. The second worse technician was sent by AHS from Green to Clean. The technician did not correctly diagnose the problem (pool equipment) and he did not do the repair he claimed to have done. I beieve ASH is ruining ts reputtaion by senidng such incompenet technicans. Customers like myslef tell others about teh servbice tey have gotten. I have told quite a few people about these two compnaies.

I am happy with my home shield policy, but I was very unhappy with the last service from A1 Plumbing. The workers did not seem to understand my problem. The spent about 5 minutes turning the disposal on and off but did not address the fact I felt there was a clog in the pipe because the water drained slow. They then said there was no problem and left. The problem has not presented itself again, but I felt they dismissed it too quickly.

We have had AHS for more than 30 years, for 5 different homes and I have yet to have a situation that they did not resolve by repair or replacement. We have had repairs and replacements for plumbing , electric, air conditioners, furnaces, stove, garage door opener, pool pump, sump pump, water heater, garbage disposal, and microwave oven. We have had an outstanding relationship with AHS since 1994 and I plan to continue that relationship until I an no longer a home owner.

They use sub-par contractors. It takes them too much time to schedule an appointment so I usually end up paying for my own. When they do show up, I have had quite a few do horrific work - the way they word it to the insurance company, they won't pay for the work. So the contractor knows I will pay - and they give me no warranty discount, so they make more money. Some of them just do bad work and I end up paying for someone to come in and clean it up OR in the case of recently, their poor work created a major water issue in 2 units and it cost my insurance company $20,000 to clean it up - when all it would have taken was a $5 new part.

Waiting on parts again...It was well worth it when we weren't told we had to find our own air-conditioning solution. Claiming that we could be reimbursed. Outside companies aren't going to honor that that aren't on your list. We got stuck paying for a blower motor. Despite what your advertisement says! Now, we wait again for parts for the dryer. Yay. 👎

While the issue was fixed, going from contractor to contractor took too long. One contractor should be used that can repair everything not have limitations. I had to live out of a nice chest in summertime for almost 4 weeks or more.

We have had a home warranty with American Home Shield for over a decade. The majority of our experience has been very good until our most recent claim experience. The rep. assigned to repair our washer was extremely late, caused additional damage, and didn't complete the repair. The AHS rep promised either a Senior rep. from that company would come correct all issues or assign it to another company. Neither happened. The same rep. returned and stated nothing further could/would be done. Secondly, we bought a 4 year new home/new construction warranty/contract from AHS. The rep. we purchased the warranty contract from stated the 4 years would begin after 1 year in our new home due to everything was covered by the manufacture during the 1st year. However, we paid for the 4 years in full even though we were in our first year in our new home. The contract renewed just 3 years after our first year and we did not get 4 full years as the sales rep. promised and sold to us. Making us a year short of what we paid for and not ready to pay for a new contract year. If this would have been our first experience I would not have renewed and taken my business elsewhere. Since all prior experience has been excellent, I'm giving the company another opportunity to prove it will honor what was sold to us and hoping this past experience doesn't happen again.

Years ago when I first subscribed to your company, I had a really good customer service work with really good companies that you sent out. I’ve never had a problem. Of course when I didn’t have a problem since I was in real estate, I had a local rep call on our office that would work things out for me. When I move to another state, I put your policy on Each of the two houses that I have had here. In my opinion, the companies that you’re sending out are subpar. The last one you sent out had horrible ratings on the Internet that I only found by doing a search of them myself so needless to say I’m not impressed anymore.

I am giving AHS a 3 and not a 0 ONLY because my latest experience was actually great. If the next one is equally as good I will take another survey and raise my rating. Unfortunately, up until then, for the past 3 years I have been very patient with AHS even though there was only one HVAC company available to me and they were absolutely horrible. He ripped me off and never did actually come back and do what he said he would do. Fire & Ice Heating & AC are the worst. As a former Realtor who offered the AHS warranty to my clients I had hoped for better service on the consumer side of things. My last experience renewed my faith in AHS and so far we have made it through the summer with no outages.

Appreciate the supply cost coverage for replacement dishwasher & A/C. Disappointed with installation of replacement dishwasher because your agent refused to remove & replace due to uneven floor. Had to pay outside help to perform this work, including removal of old unit. Still awaiting to be reimbursed the installation fee charged by your agent. Having problem with A/C compressor that delays in startup. Airserve followed up visit & stated that unit is properly working, but the delay start could be an electrical problem.

I would let people know to inquire about the vendor being assigned to them. I would suggest the following: 1. Is the vendor up for renewal/certification with American Home Shield within the next month? The reason being, AHS did this to me and prolonged my a/c repairs without any remorse for their actions. 2. If you want to speak to a supervisor, good luck!!! If and when a supervisor calls, you must be on standby and drop everything to receive the call. If you missed the call (even when they called outside of business hours), there is NO way to get a supervisor on the line. 3. Get all names when speaking to someone. Everyone you speak to will give you different information and sometimes contradict what other AHS representatives have told you. Even the supervisors gave me wrong information. 4. If AHS says they are going to do something, stay on top of the situation. 2 AHS suoervisors said they were going to do something and never did. It was documented in AHS notes of what needed to be done. It wasn't until I called the 3rd time and spoke to someone about the situation that it was finally taken care of. 5. You will have to do ALL the calling to find out the status of the situation with AHS. The vendors are really good about communicating with you about their status. Unfortunately, the vendors do not have control when it is AHS's doing. Overall, when AHS does their job, things go well. Unfortunately, I have had it where it didn't.

I am happy with the technicians who AHS has sent to me in the past, however, I am shocked at the large increase in my premium. I have been a member for a long time and have always made my payments on time. Isn't there a discount for loyalty and what about a senior citizen discount which would be very helpful. Also I have friends who have AHS coverage the same as mine but there premium is less as well as their deductible which I have never understood.

Great coverage but customer service agents never have updated information readily available to them unless they are specifically looking at information related to the work order number of your service request. Escalating an issue is never timely and often times those representatives don't get back to you to assist with an issue or call you back if you miss their initial call back to you. Contractor relations is also an area that you cannot speak to personally and can only rely on the customer service agent sending them an email regarding your problem with a contractor. Great coverage with this company but it requires persistence to get things done in a timely fashion and some working knowledge of how this company works.

As a long term American Home Shield customer (34+ years), I'm familiar with the service request, dispatch, and repair process. On my most recent service request, I had to place multiple follow up calls to get the estimate; the service provider stated the estimate would come from AHS, when I called AHS, they said the service provider would send it - the typical ping-pong runaround game. After receiving, approving, and having the work completed, I was not given an invoice, only an unsigned service invoice #143140 which noted Evap Coil 1 pcs. as the 'Description of Work." The service request had items covered by AHS, and non-covered items, and I as the customer paid the $75 call charge, and $2,361.00 out of pocket. I had to contact the AHS, and the service provider multiple times to get a receipt and documentation of the work performed. It was also revealed that some items in the agreed service order were not provided although the service technician stated that all of the work was complete. As of now, I'm still waiting for documentation from AHS, and also require documentation from the service provider to detail all of the out-of-compliance work was completed.

Been with AHS since 2006. More good experiences than bad. Usually comes down to a refusal to pay for work. It is all over the phone. They make decisions that favor them. You have to call the provider to get them to diagnosis it so that it will be covered. When they have been good, they have been good. In a short time I had cooktop, oven/microwave combo and dishwasher plus two A/C units go out within two years. They did not balk on them. Premiums are going up. Not sure I can continue to pay.

We have had AHS for a little over a year now. The plan we have is comprehensive and the contractors have been pretty decent. Sometimes we have to follow up but the service provided has been good. The other company we had for our other home was absolutely the worst. In comparison we are extremely happy with AHS.

Several months ago myself and a company had a go around with AHS to get a problem solved before the warranty ran out on my hot water heater. Every time they or myself would call we would get a different foreign person to talk to and got a different answer. AHS installed a new hot water heater. Then it developed a problem. The manufacturer would cover the parts but not the labor. The company that installed it was willing to repair it but wanted to be paid for the labor. AHS gave us all kinds of answers including that company wasn't on their list of vendors when they originally sent them out. For an additional,$100 they wanted to send someone out to check the appliance and would decide if it needed replaced. We had two weeks before the warranty expired. Both the company and I called every day for two weeks and we got different answers each call. I was and still thinking about changing insurance. Neither of us could really understand the people we were talking to.

Submitted a service request on 4/29 for my microwave. It is now 9/3 and the repair is not done. Service provider kept cancelling the day of the appointment resulting in a rescheduled appointment at least 2 weeks later. No other service providers available in my area. Now this service provider says they no longer have technicians in my area. AHS does not actively communicate or follow up on service request status. I plan on cancelling my warranty and demanding that they refund me for 4 months of premium payments because they have not been able to complete this request. If you live in a remote or rural area, do not use AHS. They don’t have service providers, but they are happy to continue taking your money for premiums.

Your prices have steadily increased over the years , while many things I have inquired about are not covered . Recently , you guys have sent companies out to repair the refrigerator . American Home Shield is Anything BUT AMERICAN! The only time I spoke with someone in the U.S. was when I signed up. All the call reps I spoke with were in the Philippines and was hard to understand or get a point across. My problem took 8 months to get resolved. There was always miss communication or no communication between American Home Shield , the Contractor and The customer. If it weren’t for me being consistent on what was going on who knows how long my problem would have gone on. The contractor diagnosed and installed the new unit with no problem but was given a hard time when requesting the new unit.

Disappointed with this home warranty company concerning coverage for repairs for my AC . I have been a customer with coverage for almost 20 years. I have had the unit repaired at least two to three times during the duration . The fee for service call, went from 45.00 to 125.00, per visit, which used to cover whatever the issue was. This year my AC stopped getting cool so I placed a service call to AHS. I paid the $125.00 for the service call only to be told I would need to pay an additional $ 1250.00 (my portion) of the bill to get my AC repaired. That’s twelve hundred and fifty dollars, that is not in my budget.

We had the worst knowledge with AHS. Our AC unit needed to be replaced because it was leaking gas and had other issues (22 years old unit). AHS refused to replace it even though the company they sent to repair the AC unit agreed that our AC unit needed to be replaced. Be aware that your old appliances will never be replaced by AHS. AHS purchases parts ol l of appliances that are no longer available to the public and make every effort to repair your old appliances. Nevertheless, the repair cost falls on you to pay the repair company contracted by AHS. We ended up not agreeing with their shady practice and replaced our AC unit on our own. I do not recommend their services.

American Homesheild is a complete scam and I’m letting all the people I know on social media how you take advantage of customers. I had a plumbing issue and reached out to you for serves. I explained I needed a snake to clear main drain. You sent AJ pllumbing to my house who have been there on multiple occasions. I answered the door he said what’s the problem? I said the same and need you to snake. He said I have to call my office for approval. I said why didn’t you get that before coming here. He never stepped foot in my house. I waited for him while I called you. Went back to the door to let him in and he took off with no explanation cci explained what happened to you who didn’t seem very interested in helping me. Saying we have to wait fo hear from them. Not to mention it took a week to get the appointment. I called you again to request another vendor and you had none. I the. Requested that you never send AJ plumbing to my house again. I also requested a full refund which you denied me the. Decided to give me 50% back which is unacceptable. I was forced to spend $500 on a plumber to come and fix the problem you wouldn’t fix. I will have my attorney to reach out for my reimbursement and the aggravation and stress you have caused me. I am looking for another home warranty company to handle my needs if this is not resolved. I GIVE YPU A NEGATIVE 5 As a rating

There is nothing good I can say about AHS over the last 3 years. I cancelled all 4 of my contracts. The last straw was when one of the AHS vendors said is would cost $5000 to fix a leak. After I cancel my policy, partly because of this interaction, I called a local leak detection company. After they located the leak I called a local plumber. The total to find and fix the leak was less than $600 and it was completed in 4 days from initial contact. I have other (documented) examples of how terrible AHS is. My advice is to save your money and not waste it on American Home Shield. They use the lowest priced and least skilled vendors and they will make up reasons to not cover your claims.

If I could have left a zero rating I would have. We have problems with our Air Conditioner cycling on and off all summer. The last time was for 9 hours during the day. A & R Complete Services was out 3 times. Problem was never fixed. However, the real reason for the no star rating is their complete lack of communication and cooperation when they were asked to come out a 4th time. According to American Home Shield they accepted the return visit, but despite us leaving countless messages to call us back at a certain number they never called us at that number. They kept calling a different number. We even told American Home Shield to remove that other number from our account. They never set up an appointment with us. We called American Shield numerous times to complain and they called as well. A & R also ignored them. We asked American Shield to set us up with someone else but that request was refused as well. Terrible service between the vendor and the insurance company.

Have been a paying customer for years and have never been 100% satisfied with them. Depending on what you need, you will sit on hold for a long time and when you do talk to someone, for me, it is very difficult to understand their dialect. My most recent a/c encounter…their tech cam out and spent maybe 15 minutes at the house and told me that my evap coil was bad and needed to be replaced and took a picture of a date on the outside of the air handler showing if that it was last replaced in 2015. What he didn’t realize, the evap coil was changed in 2021 and was noted on the inside of the air handler on the inside but he wouldn’t know that because he never took the cover off to actually check it. I know this because I was standing at the bottom of the steps. I was sent a quote for the uncovered portion that AHS said that I would have to pay out of pocket for almost $6,000. I called to get a second opinion and AHS said that I had to pay because they wouldn’t cover just because I didn’t agree with the price. I paid out of pocket to rediagnose and the issue was that the heater was blowing at the same time as the a/c. It cost me $380. I did the cash in lieu of payment option through AHS so I could reimburse myself for paying my own a/c tech and it was a nightmare to get my money back. It took months and they made me seem like I was the bad guy.

We had an unpleasant experience with AHS recently. Our tankless systems computer board was shorted out due to our power being turned off and on during the recent hurricane. The first company came out and pronounced the unit failing due to improper maintenance and it lacked a valve for clean out. I explained to the guy that it had been maintained and our plumber did not have an issue cleaning out the system. I requested a second opinion and my claim was denied to not having the correct valve as previously mentioned. The quotes to replace the unit were $6600.00 and $4400.00. I found a new unit for $998.00 and hired a plumber for $300.00. A big difference and I feel the first two companies were taking advantage of the storm by price gouging. I wrote a letter to AHS expressing my concerns and it was returned to me. I sincerely believe the process needs an appeals process that allows the homeowner to express their concerns and not rely exclusively on the first company’s information. It’s to the first company’s advantage to recommend a denial so that they benefit.

It took SIXTEEN WEEKS for AHS to replace my non-working refrigerator. TEN repair attempts (of which, the vendor failed to show up 3 separate times), and utter and complete failure to uphold the warranty in good faith. Continually just passed around to get me off the phone and to go away. Definitely efforts to exhaust the warranty holder to give up efforts to make AHS uphold their contracts. Miserable experience. Repair vendor even recommended filing with Attorney General! Claimed AHS has verbally threatened to drop repair contracts if replacement is requested - even when the appliance meets the criteria! Also claimed that repair company threatened employees with termination should they recommend replacement due to the threat of contract termination from AHS. Absolutely creates a conflict of interest and a seemingly intentional effort to take advantage of premium-paying customers. 1000% do NOT recommend.

It used to feel more worth it when the yearly fee and the service fee were lower but as prices have increased the value feels less balanced. They often also send out subpar contractors that do temporary fixes and not high quality work.
