I've had very good service technicians come out. I had a leak and a pipe underneath the house and they said when I was filling out the information I put that it was outside and they told me they didn't cover piping that was outside the house. I had to tell them I considered it outside because it was not an indoor plumbing fixture and I had trouble getting them to understand that it was under the house, so yes, it was included in the warranty. It's not the only time that I've had trouble explaining what I needed and having them understand what it was that was going wrong.

We've used our warranty a number of times. I had a problem with an oven, they came out and couldn't fix it right then, they had to get another part. They did that and came back, they were good. For the most part, it's good. Don't really like the way they make the appointments for you, the time may not always be convenient. But I was able to call the appliance repair people and was able to reschedule the appointment.

I've had some bad experiences with Choice. The last experience was pretty good, but I had a guy come out to repair a refrigerator and he said it needed a filter. I already have replacement filters and he wouldn't put it in. He told me I had to order one online from the factory and put it in myself, he wouldn't come back out so I had to figure it out on my own, which I could have done it in the first place if I knew he was going to be like that. But the last guy that came out was very good, very nice, very professional and quick.

If you're in a populated area like my one home warranties in the Chicago area, that's not a problem because they can get people to come out. But if you're in a less populated area, even though the other property is only 40 minutes from Fort Wayne, they couldn't fill the repair and I had to do it myself and then what they require the repairman to do, no repair people want to have to deal with the home warranty company and fill in the information so even finding someone who was willing to do that was terrible. So populated area great. If you're not in a major metropolitan area then I would not recommend them.

Just recently I called about four different things, like the dishwasher and nobody's ever called me back about that. I think it's been at least a month since I called. Somebody called and said they would come here and fix my dryer, and then he came down 2 hours later than when he said, but he was okay and he worked on it for a while and I thought he fixed it, but he said no, we have to order a part so I'll come back next Friday. I made sure I was here all day, cancelled all my appointments and everything, and about 8:00 on Thursday night I got a text just saying your appointment has been changed to Thursday of next week. And then I don't know why that happened, but I couldn't get ahold of anybody. I tried to call them. They don't have a phone number, nobody has phones anymore. You can't talk to people, you get a robot. So I never was able to get a hold of anybody to see why they changed it, just had to suck it up and wait for the next Thursday. So he came and he was here like 5 minutes and took the part in and he said you've got a blockage in your lint trap or something, so you have to get somebody to pick that up. We don't do that. I wasn't impressed. When the guys came for the garbage disposal, they fixed that in 1 minute just fixed it and went on.

It would not continue to run, kept getting an error code and we called them and he came over and he pushed some button somewhere and it was working and he told us that it might stop again,and that if it did, call them back because they might have to replace something. They haven't been able to find people to fix things that I've asked to have fixed. I had a ceiling fan to get fixed. They had a guy come out and fix the first 1 one time and it worked. Then I had him come back and fix another ceiling fan and the guy came, took my money and never came back. So I called, I wrote them and let them know, and they said they'll get somebody out there to fix it. Nobody ever came out, so I bought a new one hoping that they'd be able to find somebody to put that one in instead of fixing the old one. And I still haven't got anybody. The last one they were going to send over got cancelled and I'm waiting again. It's been months.

So far was good, some of techs that come to your home is very uncomfortable.. where they don't speak and make you feel uncomfortable while watching them work some. This last issue was plumber never stated I had a blockage nor did he state it in his text messages. He told me he had cleared my drainage and I was no longer clogged. Then when I finally washed clothes I see that the job wasn't complete and when I followed up with the company they stated can come out and snake it but then will want to send an scope down there but Choices will not pay for that. So that company as well is not respectful when talking to customers. So I followed up with Choices and explained what was going on also shared the text messages I got from Dustin which is the tech that came out to my home which was aggressive and harassing. Choices stated that I have a blockage or something and they can not as my home warranty assist with that. Now why wasn't that told to me the day of 11/04/2022 from the tech instead of saying it was fixed . So I was taught that Choices do not have their customers best of interest because now at this point it has became a he said she said but me as the customer is just being told from my home warranty company not the tech himself that I have a blockage and the only problem I have with is where the water drain into leading from the washer machine no where else in my home

I have had one claim and it was handled very efficiently. I had a technician tell me that my washer needed a new part, then the same company sent a different tech with the part and he determined the pump just needed to be cleared out. It was a bit annoying that there was the initial misdiagnosis.

I had a weird experience with the dishwasher. SOmeone came out to repair and said I needed a new part and that he would contact me when he got the part to come and install it. I then got an email saying I was approved to purchase a new dishwasher and they would reimburse me $510 for it. Once I actually get a person on the phone, it's fine. They've been very kind and efficient, but getting somebody on the phone was a struggle for a while.

In general everything's been very quick and helpful. A little bit of misinformation that came back and forth from miscommunication, it just took a little while to get that straight. Our oven wasn't heating appropriately, we were just getting partial heat in it and we were getting a a burner that wasn't working and we had technician come out and they fixed it in one setting and we're very happy.

I had 2 experiences. The first one was awful and expensive, and they would not consider at least helping me out. When I told them that I had forgotten that I had choice, because I hadn't used it, they absolutely would not assist me by even trying to pay a portion of it, and I think that's terrible. They could have sent their inspectors out to double check that the work was proper, but they did not do anything. In fact, they kept ignoring me or telling me I don't qualify. The second time I had to use them, I had a garbage disposal issue. The plumber came from about 50 miles away, but he was excellent and a very kind.

Choice Warranty is a 5 STAR as far as service goes, however, you are a 1 STAR when it comes to excessive E-Mails. I am getting at least 2 per day. I am paid up through 2/2024 but still ge e-mails to sign up. I even spoke to someone who said he would correct the e-mails. That did not work. Get it together. I am considering switching companies in Feb of next year because of all the annoying e-mails.

It took over 3 weeks to get my issue resolved. I kept calling CHW to in form them that the company they chose didnhave a clue. Three different parts were ordered by 3 different technicians. When it was all said and done, Im told that the ice dispenser was not repairable. Spoke with my claims adjudter and informed him that it wasn't enough that they were awarding to even get close to a replacement. The claims adjuster ssid it was his call and that's all that was going to be allowed. Then he tells me, it will take 30 days to mail a check!! Carrier pigeon I guess. I have never had an issue with CHW until this issue.

From the last time I've had to use them. I had work done by an electrician never finish the job. I called them a couple times and I called the electricians to find out when they were going to complete the job. It was never done so when I called Choice back they said it had been too long and I had to re-open another ticket which meant that I had to pay another service fee for something that was never completed to begin with. I blame Choice for closing the ticket and I blame The electricians were never finishing. Thank God the new electrician they sent out with a new company finished a job it was very professional. But I had to pay again which was not fair.

The first time I need to use my warranty, took over 30 days to get the hot water replaced. The first time they struggled finding a service technician in the area to pick up the service request. The service request was almost completed. It never was actually fully completed. I had to follow up with them and the next service person they had on that same claim was a no call, no show. And then I followed up with them again and they told me they were having problems finding a service technician. And then when I followed up again, they told me it had been over 30 days since I last followed up, so they closed the claim out. If it still wasn't fixed, I have to open a new claim. So that was my introduction to choice home warranty, and it was horrific. But I was locked into a year with them and the subsequent home warranty service requests have been better for sure. But it was a very poor initial experience with them. This last one I had, they had a service technician assigned within 24 hours, and the service technician called me and showed up when he was supposed to and made the repair on this first trip. It was absolutely perfect. It was textbook.

The problem with Choice is you feel lost with them. The system is so difficult to get to communicate, to get answers, all emails are no replay, others are not handled by anyone. They go home at 5pm on Fridays and have no one to get in touch during your emergency. We have two contracts with Choice for our two properties. The property my son lives had a plumbing emergency, he contacted them in their working ours because they had water everywhere in the bathroom and they said there was no one available to go, that my son had to look for a plumber himself and had the plumber call them with the estimate. The plumber went and called them, they never answered, it was a Friday, the claim was outstanding with no results on their website, we had to resolve the situation, paid the plumber $1,010.00. Choice on Monday called indicating they never received an estimate and was not going to pay what we paid the plumber. They ever asked what the problem was being informed verbally what was happening in a household with two minors. They said we needed to open an appeal. Horrible long process, they ended paying $500.00 of a procedure they messed up from the beginning. Other experience is a recent claim of our other property, the other contract with Choice, our refrigerator was making water from down to the floor. We opened the claim, they sent an appointment and the technician never showed up. The status on the claim was they were waiting for the technician report and that we needed to get in touch with the technician to let him know that. No phone number neither email given for us to do what they were supposed to do. They didn't even gave follow up to be informed the technician never arrived to our home. We were desperate with the water coming out to our kitchen floor, afraid to fall, we looked for the contact information and got to chat with Sears Home Services, gave them the order number and emphasized in the urgency, it was Friday, they sent a reschedule for Monday, all this done by ourselves. The technician came, we paid the deductable, he said he needed to shut off the water valve to the refrigerator water and ice making system and that our refrigerator needed to be changed, that Choice needed to give us money to buy a new one or send us to a place to get a new one paid by them. Is all rusted in the back and if he was to change the water pump, we were going to keep on having water coming out all the time. That was yesterday, we haven't have an update from Choice yet, we have no water or ice working in our refrigerator.

I have had a few denials in the past that I thought should have been covered but were not. The reason I was given was because it's user responsibility. I've noticed that coverage terms have changed for both of the non-covered items. My last claim was covered minus my copay. I did have to follow up on the initial request because I had not heard from them within the time limit given.
