I called in for a repair appointment and I got scheduled 5 days later. I think this is poor service considering this is not what was described to me when I was being sold on this service. I then spent 4 hours waiting for a technician who never showed or called so I called him. He was running late and at a location 2 1/2 hrs away from my home. I checked my email a little while later and my appointment had been rescheduled for a 4 hr window later the same day. No phone call, no nothing. I waited almost 8 hrs and checked my email again only to find that my appoint had been rescheduled for the next day. This is horrible customer service. The technician showed up the next day and it was a quick appointment to resolve the issue. At this point in time, I plan to call and cancel this service because I can call a regular service technician if and when needed and it will cost a lot less.

For my dishwasher fix, Choice sent an awesome technician and I am glad he took this job. However, when it comes to fixing my A/C unit that has a leak in the coil, Choice Home Warranty has chosen to make the job incredibly difficult to be worked on. I am now going on 2 weeks with no A/C in 95+ degree weather and my house has stayed 85 degrees at night. Choice Home Warranty sent out three different A/C companies to take “another look” at my unit as all three stated my coil has a leak. Choice then sent my 3rd technician out another two times for different styles of proof that it was a coil leak. Choice finally approved the fix as the coil is free from the manufacturer warranty, but to finish it off has notified me that I will have to pay another $500 for the fix which is over half of the cost from the repair technician.

I am very disappointed with Choice Home Warranty. I signed a 6 year contract for the best plan because they were apparently #1. A year later when I file my 1st claim I find out they don't cover products that have developed rust/ corrosion. There is no way an A/C unit, washer, and water heater will not develop rust. Now I am being told I need to write a request to review the claim which will take even longer to potentially get my A/C repaired. My tenant is now without A/C in the Texas heat and I can't even tell her when or if it will be covered. This is terrible customer service. On top of all that I have yet to receive a call from Choice Home Warranty. I am only allowed to type back and forth with an automated system. Clearly this is not the service from a #1 company. I do not recommend them. I was also told I was not on the "rust" plan. I was never told there was a "rust" plan.

Worst customer service ever. Our A/C broke. I filed the claim online didn’t hear back from a technician until the next day. I already put the family in a hotel for the night which I was fine with the first night. The repair company set up an appointment for the next day. I had to keep the family in the hotel a second night. Which I wasn’t okay with. An hour before the appointment, the technician called and said his van broke down and he didn’t have any money to repair it today. (Makes me wonder who they contract). I called parjer ans Sons and they came out within two hours and fixed the system. Cost was almost $400. I called Choice for reimbursement and the rep was very rude. She told me “shush, i am talking” as I was trying to express my frustration with their service. She refused to reimburse me for the repair “because the responded within 24 hours”. Worst service ever. PS. Research Arizona Attorney General’ lawsuit against them. I wish I saw that before I paid for the contract.

I like having coverage, but items that frequently wear are generaly not 'covered'. Next, Contractors HATE having to call in to get approval before they complete a repair, due to they most often have a 20 minute wait. Most contractors in my area do not belong, [due to the wait time calling in], resulting in having to get contractor often, 30-60 minutes away. I am not in an isolated area! A problem with my AC, resulted in several service calls and contractors service. Problem was not fully corrected. I am responsible to pay for all, because a temporay fix lasted more than 30 days. UGH !!

The response time for all AC problem was quick and the technician and HVAC repair company have been excellent. However, I’ve had 2 plumbing issues arise. The 1st took several months before a plumber was found to address a clogged kitchen sink drain. The 2nd plumbing issue is unresolved after about 6 weeks.

CHW is a nice conduit for putting me in touch with who I need to do the job. Unfortunately though, upon identifying the problem, acquiring the necessary financial support for repairs &/or replacements is something CHW intends to drag out in hopes that the customer will eventually grow frustrated and pay for same out of pocket. There's a distinct difference between being involved vs. Committed to customers. CHW's, loyalty towards it's customers is questionable.

I had to get involved. Eventually the matter was resolved but not before I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint with them.

I been with CHW since April 2017 and had no real issues with minor things... but when my AC Compressor started going out, it was a new install Oct 2017, CHW denied my claim for a new compressor because they said since its so new it shouldn't be bad yet and therefor its not considered normal wear and tear! So yes the compressor is still under warranty and the technician has a new one coming but I must pay the $925 for labor and freon to get it installed since the claim has been denied... so why have a warranty for anything when they can claim it "shouldn't have gone bad and that's not normal wear and tear"??

Choice Home Warranty (CHW) sent Home Source Pros Garage to fix our garage door, the technician Gifford M adjusted the opener but it failed the very next day and damaged the door ($1500 to replace). Despite several phone calls to Mr. M, the owner of the business and appointments, they never came back to us and wanted us to commit to doing a conversion and spend hundreds of dollars with them. Choice Home Warranty (CHW) did not help cover any of the expenses and suggested that we file a claim with Home Source Pros Business Liability Insurance. And by the way CHW is still using Home Source Pros Garage as their subcontractor and will not stop using them despite my complaints.

I have found Choice Home Warranty to be totally unfair and unrealistic in their assessment of the repair/replace of a home appliance. Our washer, being only 6 years old had its transmission go out. Choice Home Warranty only gave us $343 to replace our washer. In this day that didn’t nearly cover half of what a new washer cost today. We have been a customer since 2016 and that is all they would do for us. Very sad business practice…

By far this is the worst company I know you are dishonest and unprofessional. I had a water heater replaced last year after waiting over 30 days and nine months later the water heater started leaking and it was determined that the water heater was defective. I was denied getting a new one and it had to go to the appeals. If I wanted to make an appeal, I would’ve had to wait an additional 2 to 3 weeks. I am out $1200 because I had to purchase a new one, in addition because it took so long to fix last year it caused water damage to my garage that’s causing me to make a claim on my homeowners insurance. Not only am I not going to renew my policy but I have a few people that I recommended that are canceling their policy too.

I wouldn't recommend Choice. Their contract says they cover air conditioning systems but they didn't cover mine. My upstais unit stopped working and the company sent to work on my system found a leaking evaporator coil, took pictures and sent it to choice for approval to replace the part which is a neccessary part to have to run the AC system. They declined it so I appealed and they still won't pay for it because of rust on the coil, and there's no way to do any maintenance on it because it's in the furnace. We've been in our house over 20 years and to me thats normal wear and tear but not to them. So look for another company!!

I called the company and asked if there was any way they come earlier. Again I am doing most of the work and there is not great customer service. When the technician came to the house, we discovered that the cables on the gargage door opener were not covered by Choice Warranty. Therefore, the technician had to repair the door and charge $300 through someone named B & D & Buscamonte Door LLC. We are not quite happy with the service by Choice Warranty, but would recommend the technician, who did an excellent job fixing the door.

I don’t know how much more I can be dissatisfied with having a home warranty that doesn’t cover nothing every claim every issue and or concern is alway I mean always not covered by a clause or policy update in the warranty I have spent more on the early renewal than the cost of repairs or issues I had at my home. The one good thing and it’s really not good is that choice home warranty gets you someone out for you to pay them for uncovered service pretty fast beats me looking up a for repair person they do that well.

After my eldery mother was tricked into signing up for 2 years ($$$$ up front taken out in two payments - but the sales person couldn't tell her when the $ would be coming out) she reached out to me to help. I immediately called to find out that a large sum was already taken out and the next large sum would be taken out a month later. My mother being on a fixed social security income can not afford that. I finally was able to get it to a lower price for a year that we all agreed to. She never had a lapse of coverage from her other home warranty to Choice. We reached out to Choice a few weeks ago because her AC unit isn't working properly. I personally paid for a private company to come do a cleaning and maintenance on her unit in JUNE of this year (so about 2 months ago!!!). We filed a claim-- got denied. The tech they sent-- personally told me that Choice is a piece of $h!t and everything will get denied!! *I was furious a contractor working for a company would bad mouth someone he works for so bad. He also arrived with a child in his car (It was 95 degrees and he had no clue if he would be here 15 mins or 2 hours). Said the unit is not being kept up??!!! The company that we had hired to clean and maintenance it (one of the best in our area) did the work. They clearly stated on receipt that unit is in working condition. Fought with Choice again, they offered to send another contractor. Contractor put in what needed to be done, again....it was denied. I actually HAD the OWNER of the private company I had clean my mom's unit out at the same time so I could make sure I wasn't getting screwed. So my mom is still without AC. She can NOT go downstairs at all because of the temp downstairs. She has paid a years worth of premium and keeps getting denied for work to be done to her AC unit (it's 27 years old and they said it's not been kept up......Please explain to me how a AC unit gets to be TWENTY SEVEN years old and 'never been kept up.' Units don't last that long and she has always made sure ac filters were changed monthly and it cleaned or serviced as needed!! She is now going on week 3 of NO AC downstairs. She is 77 years old-- with COPD and asthma and heart patient. We need them to come fix our unit. It needs a new evaporator coil is what I am told. Customer service will tell me, oh it will get fixed today, then NOTHING. Days go by and no one returns my call or emails. I even have 2 supervisors that are suppose to be helping. I am furious. My mother deserves BETTER than this!!!!!

I have requested over a dozen times to change a primary number and it still has not been done. Pure incompetence by your company. I have asked one question about a claim and how it is not covered under the policy. I have quoted the policy and read through it. The only answer I get is that it is not covered. I have been in insurance a long time and if you cannot answer one question regarding your own policy, I have little hope or confidence in your company. I even got a call from a manager, he was rude and very condescending. This is not the way you treat a customer that pays a premium for your service. I will not be renewing this policy because of these two things and you should be ashamed that this is the way you treat your customers. If there was an option to give negative stars, I would.

We have purchased Choice Home Warranty (CHW) Service for many years with our multiple rental properties. Recently we filed a claim for an air conditioner issue on 7/23/2021, claim #: 127899539. Given the Las Vegas hot summer days (normally reaching 110 degrees high almost daily), plus we have a disabled senior in the house. We immediately contacted Choice Home Warranty about it. They sent a technician on 7/24/2021. Then they sent me a denied determination with a very long description, basically saying the AC unit was shorted and they would not cover it. I called CHW the next day and talked to a Resolution Manager, who told me the shorting usually happens after 15 years of usage and our unit is 14 years old. I told her our property was built 15 years ago and the unit must have been 15 years old as well. Plus I would assume one year difference would fall into a margin of error. She asked me to appeal to CHW and I did. I was then assigned a Case Manager (Taurean R) who sent me an email to schedule a meeting with him online. Again, I stressed that we needed to resolve the issue asap due to the elderly disabled person in the house. Knowing from past experience that this may take a long time, we had to hire another plumber to come to give us an estimate on how soon they could replace the unit and they gave us the estimate of $3,895. The case manager met with me on 7/27/2021. He basically told us it would not be covered and I couldn’t get any legit reason. He did indicate he may try to get the repair work covered, maybe up to $1,980. I told him we already hired a contractor to replace it and then he asked me to send him our contractor’s bid and diagnosis, which I did. We scheduled another meeting with the case manager.7/31/2021. The case manager then told me that because our plumber indicated a leaking, they would not cover it. Not even the repair cost he originally said they would cover. After a long discussion, he said they could pay us around $200 to help. I told him that’s definitely not acceptable. My question is why they came up with one reason not to cover it first and then changed their story to not cover it for another reason. Why would we buy the Home Warranty only to find out they would not cover the repair or replacement for any reason? I paid $1,750 to purchase the home warranty and I could not get them to cover even the repair work. This company is a scam!

I run my own business . . SO, I understand customer service. I’m very disappointed w/ what little service I’ve received from your company. It’s been my experience; there’s NO direct communication b/w CHW and the customer; and very little follow up, except your bogus surveys hoping for positive feedback. I DO NOT understand the next two questions below this feedback box; “Paying customer service” ??? “Specific invitation from CHW to leave this review” ??? It appears to me, CHW has no interest in really helping me when I have a claim or need help.

It took a week to get someone to come out and tell me my microwave could not be fixed. Another week to get the approval to replace and once accepted the amount (which you can’t replace the microwave) I’m now waiting for the gift card from Lowe’s which could take a month! Am I happy with this…. NO!! I will be without a microwave for almost two months and the have to hire someone to install it!!

My first contact has not been a positive one. I was experiencing no water from my kitchen faucet. It was an entire day before s i was contacted by a service person. He arrived I paid the service fee. He said he had to submit paperwork. Choice Warranty decided it was not normsl wear and tear. At this point I'm three days without water. I am the owner as well as the occupent. The house was built 13 years ago.. The decision to deny the claim is based on an assumption not knowledge.

They are a joke. I don't say that flippantly or lightly. Each claim was handled with the intent to find a way out of paying for repairs. Read all the fine print...you will find that even with "premium" packages, not much is covered. Many of the service techs they partner with openly expressed condolences that we chose Choice (which speaks volumes). I paid for optional pool/spa coverage. It didn't even cover malfunction of the central pool pump...anything that gets near the atmosphere of electrical system issues (90% of time a pump malfunctions, this comes into play), it is a flat out "deny". I rarely if ever write negative reviews. I'm spending the time to do so to hopefully stear folks clear of disappointment and a colossal waste of their money. SHOP ELSEWHERE...believe me I wish someone had told me to do the same

I had a terrible experience with this company and I would never do business with them again. I purchased a home and the previous owner had the property covered by choice home warranty (CHW) for years and I paid extra to have the warranty continued and transferred to my name. The previous owner was not thrilled with the chw services but i decided to take a chance and pay for the ‘coverage.’ CHW supposedly covers breakdowns and ‘wear and tear.’. The AC system broke down in the heat of the summer. I called CHW and they sent an AC tech out. He was rude, curt, and unhelpful and charged me $60 but refused to fix anything. He wouldn’t even change an air filter. He said his job was not to fix anything but just to inspect it. When you pay a copay for insurance, it’s to receive services and repair. He did nothing. He said the filter needed to be replaced and he said the outdoor condenser unit was worn out (exposed to weather for decades) and needed to be replaced. But he said he couldn’t do any repairs. I had a new filter but he wouldn’t even put it in. I did. He said ‘take it up with CHW’ and left. No ac working in August. I called CHW and they said they would not fix it. They said it was not wear and tear. It was like segueing with a robot who just kept denying reality. The unit was worn out. Their tech said so and wrote it on the ticket. I eventually had 4 different AC technicians look at the ac system and all of them said the same thing. The unit was worn out and needed replacement. CHW refused to cover it and said there were no higher supervisors I could talk to snd I would be need to sue or go to arbitration. I am now involved in legal action with them. They collected premiums for years but when a repair was needed, they refused to help and were totally unhelpful. I would never do business with this company again.

Air conditioner is out. 95 degrees outside...currently 85 and rising in the house, both residents have a heart condition. Called customer service after submitting claim. The answer is: "We don't have anybody to service your claim right now! Wait 24 hours" Sales and sign-up immediate. Actual service call abysmal. Don't expect any sort of emergency service. Can't even offer known vendors in immediate area. Help desk was useless.

I moved into my house in Feb 2021 and my AC stopped cooling efficiently at the start of the summer. I opened a claim with Choice right after the end of the 30 day waiting period to try and get it fixed. They denied that claim because the issue began a week prior to the end of that period. I paid out of pocket for a tech to come service the AC. He said it was low on refrigerant and refilled it. His advice was to wait and see how long it lasted before having a leak inspection b/c then we would know how severe it was. Nearly 30 days later, the AC was failing again to pump cold air. I called the same company and they refilled the refrigerant again, did the leak inspection, and yearly service. They told me there was a leak at the evaporator coil and I would need to replace it and the valve. I made a claim with Choice and they sent their in-network tech to confirm. He sent the info to Choice and they requested more info from me about repairs. I sent them the previous invoices for the refrigerant fills. It should also be noted that the manufacturer warranty was no good anymore. Choice denied the claim stating the coil failure was a “pre-existing” condition - which you could say about nearly EVERY system that might fail when you purchase a new house. Sounds like they just didn’t want to pay the claim and made up some BS excuse. We paid over $1700 for this plan just to have our time wasted and help denied based on something we couldn’t have known about or done anything about prior to moving in.

They suggested we get a new refrigerator instead of fixing ours which would have been $1,000; they gave us a gift card for $736. to put towards a new one, but we can't get this gift card for 30 days; we need one now. They didn't tell us that before we "accepted" the egift card. Now we can't back out and have the repair done. We think this is to help their bottom dollar and not the customer! I won't renew when contract is up.
