I have had the coverage for two years, in that time I have had four issues that I put in a claim. Of the four only one was covered by the home warranty and I paid $65 to have someone put WD40 on my bathroom fan! Paid $65 to be told they don't cover the roof leak, but the guy gave me a discount to do the work. The last claim was for a ceiling light and fan that stopped working due to a power surge. 2 hours before the repairman was expected he called me to let me know he only takes cash. When he looked at the light he told me I could choose to have the light working or the fan at one speed. I choose the light. He gave me his card and said if I ever wanted the fan replaced he would to it for a fee. No thank you and I won't be renewing the warranty. I feel like I am paying over $600 a year and$65 a visit to get a "discount" from the repairman that shows up. I am better off putting that money into a savings account to help pay for the next issue.

Don't let them fool you its worthless. Submitted a claim my A/C unit quit working the whole unit but because the coils had rust they wont cover a replacement. Coils on an A/C build up water which will cause rust so if you need any A/C work done they wont cover it. So I paid a service fee and it took Choice all of 30 seconds to deny the repairs, When I submitted to have it looked at again all I got was someone referencing a paragraph in there contract. So if you buy this warranty and have any repairs on anything say washer dryer or A/C unit which all get rust there is a probability of 99% they will deny your claim. So I am out the monthly warranty payment and the service call. They wouldn't even cover any of the repair not even a partial. Biggest scam I have ever seen in my life. thanks for nothing.......

I have had Choice Home Warranty come out to fix two issues and am now literally "Battling" with them over my A/C unit. First: Be aware - they do not ( I repeat) do not cover any real issue. Second: The technicians they assign do not schedule an appt. for over 5-7 days. Third: The technicians are only interested in taking the payment for the service call fee.If you pay by credit card - you have to pay 3% extra because the technician has to pay 3% to the credit card company. Fourth: As far as I can tell,nothing is covered. You are on your own after a week's wait and after paying the service fee. Fifth: TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. When you call to try to resolve an issue, you'll be put on hold multiple times, your calls will be disconnected, and the person will stick to a written script and will not answer your question. DO NOT GO WITH CHOICE HOME WARRANTY. It's terrible

I put in a claim for my air conditioning system. They send out this clown in a rented U=Haul truck. The first hour he was here he was on calls making other service appointments. He took the unit apart, said it was the fan blade, called two parts distributors nearby and they would not sell him these parts. That means he didn't pay them. He said he would have to go to another distributor about 15 miles away. This was 4:45pm. He calls me about 5:30pm and says ge has 2 other calls to make that night and would not be back until the next day. He shows up the next day and puts the part in and the unit did not work. He then said it was a compressor and Choice would not pay for it but he could quote me on a new unit that he could install. He came back 15 minutes later and said he could have a unit here on Sunday for $5000. I told him I would think about it and sent him on his way. I called Choice and they did approve the compressor. They reassigned this claim to another contractor. I received an automated message that he will be to my house between 3pm and 8pm. Well its 7:52pm and guess what? No contractor and no call. I called his phone number and got a voicemail box with no identification. Its 82 degrees and my family is going to have to suffer all weekend because this company only hires clowns to do there work. OF course the website says they are open 24x365 but when I called I got a pleasant greeting saying the were closed. I spent $1150 on this service contract and this is what I get for it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

The clients they send out are not always trained . They have merchants that will not show or create higher charges for repair for item that need no help . Fees go up every year .. service fee outrageous and item called to fix breaks every 3 months and more fees. They rather patch for five years have over 12 service calls for item than replace .. truly unbelievable.. poor company definitely not recommend

I have yet to be impressed by this company. I've had to call on two legitimate issues, so far and have been let down on both. Both CHW and the companies they hire to perform the work apply to my utter disappointment. Request #1, I state I have a plumbing emergency on a Friday night -- CHW: "okay, we'll have a tech there on Thursday." Request #2 on a Friday, "I am available all day, Wednesday" -- CHW: "okay, we'll have a tech there on Tuesday." It's like they don't even listen to you! And when I remind them of my availability, I'm told to go figure out rescheduling, myself. Then there's the people they hired! Request #1 were incredibly disrespectful and scammers. I reported them to CHW and the BBB -- CHW did not care one bit and the problem isn't solved! Request #2 was a very nice technician, but "turn up your water heater to maximum heat and don't use the hot setting" is NOT a fix for my failing dishwasher! I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone! I only have them, because the sellers of our home offered it to us! What a joke! My two items are NOT fixed and I'm out two full days of pay, so far! All CHW has done for me so far is cost me two day's pay, two $65 deductibles, and absolutely nothing has been fixed, so far. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!!! YOUR LEGITIMATE ISSUES ARE NOT FIXED AND CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT CARE!!! I'll be impressed if this review is even made public!

Choice Home Warranty denied our claim for our A/C unit because the failure was not considered "normal wear and tear". We had a certified A/C technician come to our home and check the A/C. The technician diagnosed a failed compressor due to seized bearings. Choice Home Warranty denied the claim and state that compressor are "expected" to last up to 20 yrs and ours was only 11yrs old so it wasn't normal wear and tear. The technician stated that it was normal wear and tear and Choice Warranty stated that was his "opinion" not theirs. I am not sure what the point of having a certified A/C technician diagnose the issue only to be discounted by someone over the phone. I would not recommend anyone to use Choice Home Warranty. I am cancelling my service.

Choice Home Warranty is the biggest scam out there!! If you care anything about your money, your time and your life...put the monthly payment you would pay Choice into a savings account and pay for your repairs directly. Choice aims to only approve the simplest least expensive issues and deny the most expensive issues that is the very reason why you have warranty insurance at all! I was told that my pipes were covered for normal wear and tear but later told that they weren't covered. After complaining, I was told that I would be reimbursed my 60 dollar service fee but after I didn't receive it, I was told that I would no longer get it since I cancelled. Crazy. I only wish I had listened to my father and never gotten started with them. I can't say it loud enough...SCAM...SCAM...SCAM!!! I cringe at the thought of the money I would have if I had not wasted it on them. Ugh! Never again!!

I am very disappointed in Choice Home Warranty for my ac unit that has been leaking all of 2018. Choice sent out 3 technicians to fix ac unit, all three technicians said I needed freon. Every time they came out the tech would call Choice and they only would pay for 2lbs of freon. Out of three technicians that came out 2018 none of them said I had a leak or there was rust or corrosion. The ac unit is over 25 years old; I purchased the house in 2008 kept up with yearly cleaning, etc. for ac unit. In 2019, my furnace would not turn on, called Choice needed part, they would not cover it, but I pay Choice every month but I get no service at all. I had to purchase part for over 300 that Choice wouldn’t cover. I wasted 3 years of monthly payments to Choose for them to only fix my running toilet, water heater that only needed the knob turned to make hot water to work. That was a waste of $45 to each technician. Choice needs to hired qualified technicians to fix your appliance’s, not technicians whose company you never heard of or you are afraid to let them in your home.

We agreed to and wanted a 1 yr contract but suddenly it was a 5 yr contract and the Agent wanted about 2500.00!! He as told over and over we wanted a one year and he kept pushing!! Recorded the call and told him to cancel the contract and to not process any payment and he kept trying to talk over me til I finally had to yell at him to SHUT UP!! I ended up hanging up when he constantly kept saying he was trying to help. NO he wasnt, he was already told we would not own the house in 5 yrs and didnt want 5 yrs and yet he continued so I hung up the phone. I recorded this conversation on my cell phone and will file charges if any charges by this company are made !! He even said he didnt have the CC number....YES HE DID!! It was given to him!!!! UPDATE UPDATE THEY CHARGED OUR BANK CARD EVEN AFTER THEY WERE TOLD ON A RECORDED LINE AND IN WRITING!!!! AND FOR A HIGHER PRICE THAN QUOTED!!!!!!

I placed 2 claims on December 28, 2020. After 40 days they denied one. Horrible they made me wait like that. They said they don't clover rust. It rusted because they made me wait so long. I called them everyday and told them the leak was getting worse and worse. It goes in one ear and out the other with this company. The 2nd claim was for my ice maker. Today is day 44 and it is still not fixed. Every time I call I am told it is on back order that it came in damaged. The technicians don't let you know what's going on, and when you call them they act like you're bothering them. After calling yet again today they tell me my ice maker is on back order and after me telling them what a horrible company they are they tell me they can send me a check for $408.00 but it will take another 30 days to receive it. I can't wait to get away from this lousy company, all they do is give you the run around. If you're thinking about this company don't do it, I am sure you can find a better company or save the money yourself and budget for your repairs. I am absolutely done with this company the past 2.5 years have been a nightmare with them. Every time you submit a claim you have to beg and argue. They don't appreciate their customers. I have an appointment with my attorney. They have several class action law suits against them already, because they scam you. DON'T DO IT!!!

In August of 2018 purl A/C stopped working.. I called Choice Warranty immediately. They gave us a case number and we waited for a repair man to c,all us. We waited and waited. As you can imagine it was very hot here in Alabama. I'm 77 years old and have Lyme Disease.. When no one came they told me I could get my own service company.. They came and then called Choice to talk to their technition. When they got Choice on the phone the tech from Choice kept putting them on hold.. After waiting for over 1/2 hour my service man gave up.. After me calling Choice they told me someone had been assigned to me.. They told me I would get a call from them(she) never called for 4 days and when she did call in the late evening she told me they would not pay to replace my AC. They would pay $200 of the total $2200. In the mean time we could not wait because it was too hot.and I was sick. We had the unit replaced ourselves. Woman who called me was not very nice and seemed not to care that I was sick. Needless to say, I was not impressed with Choice

Please read reviews before choosing this company. I am so disappointed with this company. I would never recommend their service to anyone. The purpose of this warranty is to take care of our home appliance and not to just give money to this company and its technicians. We paid $60 for the technician to look at one of our appliances and a the very next day we receive an email on why they don't cover our appliance. They told us it will cost $600 in total to fix it. With that kind of money we can purchase a new one. They did not have the decency to call and let us no. So impersonal with a long email that could not be understood. I cancelled service with them immediately and I'm very upset.

BUYER BEWARE- Choice Home Warranty does not replace appliances that cannot be repaired. They pay you a ridiculously low amount to do whatever you want with it. The amount they pay you does not even cover the basic appliance, leave aside installation and haul away costs that you have to figure out yourself. Their so called total warranty has so many exclusions, so you MUST read ALL the fine print. (Example: built in microwave). If I wanted all that hassle, why would I even pay for a home warranty plan? To top it off their claims department reps are arrogant and down right rude. Only if you threaten to leave them will they send you to a retention department which will throw you a bone, for perhaps $100 more on your claim. ( which will still not cover even a very basic replacement model). If you are like me and are determined to not give any more of your business to them because of their bad service, then you obviously get nothing. Read all the fine print, and brace yourself for the amount of things that are NOT covered.

I would like to give zero starts, but unfortunately the system wont allow me to. I have a pending claim for my heat pump, I was told I will need fix that would cost $1400, that's when choice home warranty asked me to produce records of maintenance, which I gave them a letter from y HVAC company. Once they got a letter I was told I need a checklist, then I was told the technically can call the authorizing manager, which was done by my HVAC company that was maintaining my unit for last 3 years, now I am asked to produce the checklist. Now I just got off the phone and am being told completely different requirement. This guys are nothing but frauds, do not waste your money. luckily my policy expires in 2 weeks. So no more renewal for me. Also, I was told authorizing manger does not work the weekends, but my cases was decided within 2 min of me getting a email on a Saturday by an authorizing manger. How do I know this? well I got a call whihin two minutes of the email. Go with any other company but these guys. FRAUD, FRAUD FRAUD.

DON NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES GIVE THIS COMPANY ANY MONEY. YOU WILL REGRET IT. I wish I could give negative stars. This company is a complete scam and all statement they make in their sales pitch are fraud - complete and total lies. They have taken our money and denied every claim. We fought and got barely enough to cover the time to complain to them. There is a number for customer service, but no one staffs it... Called at the opening of the day and the lines were busy, till they hung up when the call center closed did this for a week - no one ever answered the phone. They send out contractors who are complete scam artists. They do something they say is covered, end then say oh, but Choice wont cover the rest and you will have to pay for us to diagnose the problem. So what did Choice pay for - oh that is right they don't pay for anything. The contractors also made a bigger mess - Job started with needing to route our pipes - we are not out $15K because the contract got their equipment stuck in the pipe and broke it - had to dig up the street. They say they will fix or replace. Ha - Stove replacement $350 (find me a stove and contractor to replace for $350), AC replacement - $650 (you can't even get a unit at Home Depot for less than $1500). If the repair is more than $100 it is not covered. Save yourself our headaches and don't waste your money. Put it the money in a high yield savings account as you will have much more control. again DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. IF YOU WANT TO FLUSH MONEY DOWN THE DRAIN IT WOULD BE LESS OF A HEADACHE.

Read the fine print... Their agreements are obviously written to deny claims based on their prior paid claim experience. This was my second home warranty with two different companies, and Choice was cheaper but much more difficult to deal with... If you are getting a home warranty it is likely due to your inability to replace a failed, covered item. So, in my experience it is best to pay the higher premium to have a much easier claim experience... My Choice policy will not be renewed, and I regret the $$$ I gifted them for lack of coverage (i.e. 3 denials on 3 different claims for different covered items) of my claims which I ended up paying them $60 for each visit to tell me the claim was denied...

Submitted a claim for my water heater not staying hot for long periods of time and having a water leak. The tech came out replaced a $6 hose and told me he would not be looking into why the water heater would not stay hot because it was old and probably needed to be replace anyway. I e-mailed in to find out what choice warranty was going to do about this and was told my claim was taken care of. Then the tech called back and needed me to cancel the payment and have a second check written because he lost the first one. Such a waste of time and money to have filed a claim, I will not be wasting more money renewing this plan as the claims are only taken care of to the tech's desire and Choice Warranty does not ensure your problem was fixed. Currently still have a water heater only heating for 5-10 minutes at a time and having to look into fixing it myself due to the lack of help from filing a claim with Choice Warranty. HIGHLY DISSATISFIED.

The tech that has been sent out to my house the last 2 times are not educated and do not know what they are talking about. My husband is a Master plumber and each time these guys wanted to fix something that was not wrong with the system. We replaced the fan in our boiler as they thought it was somethign else and I am fighting with the company to get my money back since you guys paid the tech that came out. the other guy that came out this week said nothing was wrong and now I still have issues and my husband is contacting his boss (who he knows) that he use to plumb with and let him know exaclty was is wrong with our pressure valve. Complete joke with the plumbing companies that have been sent out.

I've had CHW for 8 months. My ac kept freezing so I made a claim. After.the repair man left, we turned the ac on that night. It only blew out heat and wouldn't turn off. Called the same repair company, they came back out and determined we needed a new unit. Got a email from CHW saying the replacement was denied, because the coils had rust and replacement due to that was not covered. That is not considered normal wear and tear, mind you the unit itself is 12 years old. So now that I've lost out months of payments and 60$ service fee, 8 have to fork out 5000$ to get a new AC. What's the point of a home warranty if they can't help. We cancelled the service and went with First American home warranty.

This is a joke can't use my washer you are too replace it I get a price for what you will cover an ive got to add another 150 to 200 to cover what I've got 450.00 won't replace a 4.6 cabrio washer and then you tell me it will take 20 days to get check what good is it to have your warranty if your not going to cover something I don't know about you but to wate 20 days when you have twin granddaughters to have to wash for this isn't going to make it what happens when ac goes out im going to burn up im sorry but im very mad right now

The only reason I gave 1 star is because there is no lower option. A royal scam from the word go. We bought the 3 year contract and added coverage for our water softener system since it was 28 years old. It went out and we were drinking salty coffee. Went through the exact process as described in numerous other reviews: difficulty getting through to ask about progress, said they would send someone who never appeared, said they would pay my plumber but he could never get them on the line to get approval, etc, etc!! Eventually got permission to replace unit. It costs $700 for the unit and a whole lot for installation. Choice paid $400 and said had I read the contract I would have known there was a cap on water treatment systems. When I asked why I was not told this when I asked about the coverage for exactly that item, they said that their sales reps were fully trained to provide needed info. I was told I had to ask specific questions. I had asked that specific question of Nathan when the contract was purchased. I asked them to listen to the recording of the conversation. Long story short, they absolutely refused to honor their contract. Very obstinant, very ignorant. How did they get an A rating with BBB?????

Vendor was too greedy. Basically they just wanted to sell you a brand new A/C system, and tried to tell you that there would be some rebates. As a customer, I was more interested in finding out the exact problem, and fixing it, instead of spending more money to purchase a new unit. Moreover, no warranty was given.

All I can say is wow! Been with choice for about a year. Filed about 3 claims. #1. Refrigerator's ice maker stopped working, fridge was leaking, and the freezer was frosting over. It took almost EIGHT WEEKS before a refrigerator technician showed up! I called customer service every 7-10 days during that time span and they kept giving me the same answer: We'll have a technician contracted out and schedule an appointment in the next 24 hours!! Got nothing!! EIGHT WEEKS LATER, the technician calls on the morning he was supposed to arrive and he tells me "sorry, I'm tied up all morning so I'll have to reschedule. Of course, he eventually calls and tells me he can be there in 2 days at 11am. Great! He comes to my house, attempts to pinpoint the problem, and shows me how the evaporator fan isn't spinning. He continued to try to get the fan to spin, but he had no luck. He tells me this is definitely the problem. "I'll write it up and send it to Choice to have the fan replaced". I handed him the required $60 service fee and he left. So...I called choice a couple days later to follow up. They tell me a technician will be contracted out to fix the fan. Waited a week and nobody contacts me. I call choice back again to complain. TWO WEEKS LATER, some other dude shows up to fix my evaporator fan. He walks in my house, pulls out my current evaporator fan, and says your current evaporator fan is fine. What!?!?! Apparently, the evaporator fan does NOT kick on while the freezer door is open. When you close the freezer door, the door pushes in a button which activates the fan! The first technician obviously did not know this and I was wondering why the first technician looked so confused! The only problem with my fridge was that my drain was clogged up with ice! Hot water was used to thaw out the drain along with a tool to chip the ice. I also paid this guy the required $60 service fee, totalling $120 for two service techs since the first technician provided a misdiagnosis. Worst part about all this? IT TOOK 2 & 1/2 MONTHS to confirm it was only a clogged drain in the freezer!!!! PLUS $120 in service fees to boot!!!!!! NOW I have a furnace that is not working. Furnace guy actuallyshowed up two days after I filed the claim!!! He tells me the furnace needs replaced and that he'll notify choice. I called choice today and they told me they sent me an email (found it in my junk mail) regarding my furnace claim. The email says they will not replace my furnace but will offer to give me $600 towards a new furnace! This is an absolute joke!!! Needless to say, choice will no longer have my business. I did confirm that American home shield is the top home warranty company and that they absolutely WILL cover the full amount of a new furnace, air conditioning unit, etc.!

Choice home warranty has to be one of the worst purchases I have ever made. I was conned into paying 3 years in advance and was told that the only thing they did not cover was cosmetic issues such as a handle, a dial, etc. The representative kept adding discounts the longer I would sign up for and pay in advance. When I saw that this was all a scam, I tried to cancel not even 6 months into the 3 years paid in full and was not refunded the unused portion of the 2 years. This company has terrible customer service and I will never recommend them as they stole my hard earned money. The least that they could have done is refund the 2 years in which we didn’t even reach or utilize because I realized early on that they are fraudulent, liars, and thieves. They get negative stars from me. My neighbors that have used them have nothing but bad things to say about them as well. Wish I had known. Wish I never had signed with them. Could have used the money for other much needed things. I pretty much threw the money out the window. Horrible company, horrible ethics. They left me high and dry and this is unacceptable for a business to do to paying customers.

Not pleased at all. Called in an repair order for my refrigerator technician determined replacement was the best option... the amount they offered to cover my fridge was laughable at best. They low balled me! Replacement means one for one! not only a fraction of the cost and you are on the hook for the remainder, and I still have to have it delivered etc. seems like false advertising the thing that scares me now is what happens if my air conditioning fails? Are they replacing it with a window unit??? Such a joke

Choice Home warranty would not pay for the new furnace and A/C unit because they said in the home inspection it says that it is old and needs to be replaced. CHW said this inspection was purchased before the warranty was purchased. Who in their right mind would purchase a home warranty when selling the home before you have a buyer? Also so much for not inspection needed as the message on hold says. Now our water heater is going out, they said they would replace it. We asked for a 50 gallon instead of the 40 gallon that we now have. They said, we could pay for the 50 gallon up front and they would reimburse us for the 40 gallon. The contractor that CHW sent to us told us it takes forever for him to get paid for his job. That he would not recommend us doing that for fear of how long it would take for us to get any money from CHW. I was talking to a Doug W who is on of the renewal reps. I asked him why would I want to renew my warranty when you have not covered anything so far. He said you now what I can’t talk right now and hung up on me. So I agree 100% this company is a scam.

If i can rate this company zero I sure will. I have been with choice home warranty since March 2016 and I really regret to sign a 3 and half year contract with this crook company when i paid them $1500 . This company will tell you anything you want to hear to sign up for there cheap warranty but when it comes to getting repair done they always look for every possible means to deny your claim. I filed like 3 separates claims last year to get things repair at my house and all of them are denied. They already hire and train all this subcontractors to write a stupid reports to have your claims denied . I filed a claim 2 days ago about my A/C unit that is leaking freeon they can't even pay for a leak test . They end up denying the claim after i paid for a leak test because there stupid hire technicians gave them a report that my AC coil evaporator needs to be replaced due to corrosion. What is the purpose of having a home warranty if they cannot repair or replace what you paid for to be insured. I can't wait for my contract to expire this September and leave this crappy and cheat company. Don't sign up with them because they will lie to you and they will never pay for any repair you need because they never PAY for nothing.

I have been with this company from9/8/2017 and the contract is until 3/8/2021. I paid them $1,176.00 believing in their TV ads. The salesman reassured me that our heat pump was covered. We recently had A/c Medic out here on1/6/2019 to check it out. He serviced it and we paid him $120.00 He cleaned the Condenser Coil with Alkaline Solution. Said the freon levels looked decent. About a month after he came out, our heat pump wasn't putting enough heat into our house and we have received a couple of high light bills, so we bought a electric heater to use in the LR during the day and at night we used it in our BR.. We called Choice Home Warranty and a technician for Madd-OX HVAC came out and we paid him the $45.00 service fee and he said there was a leak somewhere. He turned his findings in, and Choice turned us down stating that they do not cover leaks that had corrosion or rust in them. Madd-OX came back out and did a leak search that we paid them $178.00 and they said they would turn the report in to Choice. Again, Choice turned us down. Today, I called them and asked for a partial refund of what was left on the contract. I wanted nothing else to do with them! They didn't like it, and said they would not let me cancel or get any money back. I want to file legal action against them for the awlful service. I am not sure how to do this, but I am going to pursue. So, if anyone is thinking about Choice Home Warranty, please consider another company. Home Warranty is a bunch of CRAP!

Service is poor . This company do things should be illegal. First of all they require a leak test if ac go out every time out if customer pocket . For example air condition fixed August , kept off for winter . Turn on now not work again . Another fee . Try have contractors patch work but don’t fix . Called in claim on Friday had to wait til Tuesday to get an ac person to come out . Called told it’s generated they can’t change it . My kids and myself suffer . Then the worst is customer service . Wait is extremely long to reach someone . Wen ask for customer relation even agents are rude . Company have them trained on scripts and there very aggressive . Resent contact “Belinda” placed me on hold while asking a question . Told me she “ not repeating herself” ... Take this serious . There rated horrible on bbb. And check Facebook etc . Scamming company . Did everything need to do maintance etc . They just take my money and patch work . When contract is up I am gone . They may be cheaper but there is a reason ... you pay for it in the end ....

I have two houses covered by Choice. I believe that they find a reason to deny coverage of anything that is not super simple and cheap for them. Dishwasher went out....they did not replace (some companies do) because 'part was discontinued.' Of course. That happens and that's why we get warranties. They offered me $169 toward a new one. That wouldn't even pay for the installation cost which I had to pay as well as almost $500 for the cheapest new unit. ( I was insulted...so they said they will send me $300 in about a month. I am not holding my breath. ) Hot water heater went out and they cover $0. New tank/ labor is not covered. You will not get any help with serious repairs with this company. AHS replaced my daughter's Water Heater for a total parts/labor charge of $75. I am going to cancel Choice before I have an air conditioner or other serious problem which they will, of course, deny coverage.

Repair was done and settled by 5 p.m. 3/20/19 by an assigned Co. GOOD! I seem to have been forgotten on Claim for freezer. Nothing at all since around noon, 3/20/19. Anyone there?

There are a number of reasons that air conditioning coil/units quit working properly and the majority of time is normal wear and tear. Such was the case with my 10 year old unit when two different technicians had varying opinions of what is causing my unit to malfunction. Both technicians pinpointed that it could be a number of reasons that my coil is going out, and narrowing it down to one or two specific reasons could be nearly impossible, therefore, they gave me their best choices and I submitted them both to Choice Home Warranty. I was denied coverage by my case worker on this claim and offered $300.00 instead to repair my unit. I found this somewhat insulting but they thought it was a windfall in regards to monetary value towards the cost of repairing my unit; something I was not satisfied with. Had I done my homework 2 years ago when I first put faith in Choice Home Warranty to do the right thing, I would have found out that only 85 percent of their customers are satisfied with their services which is misleading based upon the number of "small" claims they pay for in comparison to larger ones. This, of course, is very misleading and almost criminal . I assume they choose to pay those smaller claims based upon the time their customers have been contributing their monies into Choice Home Warranty's bank accounts. I guess I haven't been a good enough customer seeing how I've only been with the program over 2 years. Their denial of claim tells me that my total approximate cost of repair ($1300-$1400) hasn't been fully covered by my "donations" to their accounts and consequently won't be covered until they do. In the meanwhile, they'll just use my money to gain interest in their banks or use my money to repair the appliances of "other" people who have been with them a while longer. When my case worker bragged about "85% of our customers being satisfied with our work", my initial thought was what about the other 15%? What are y'all doing to bridge the gap between those people who steadily put money into Choice Home's bank accounts on a monthly basis? Isn't our money green, too...? I'd like to speak to an upper management representative in regards to my claim, but I was told by the case worker that that isn't going to happen. I'd like to explain to them that I would not have even called Choice Homes for my repairs had not I had to spend 15 thousand dollars to bury my dad who died abruptly in November, something I shared with my initial case worker. I'd like to also cancel my contract without penalty. I would also like to make an adjustment to a Facebook post I sent out to over 4000 of my friends referring Choice Home Warranty to them as a warranty service. At least 80 or more of them trusted me enough to try them. I hope they haven't been disappointed, but if they have, Choice Home will definitely hear from us with a page devoted to our experiences. It is 35 years old so..normal wear and tear and wow great water heater! Representative of the Company said since it was the Container they refuse to cover it! Oh and they will keep the $75.00 service call fee. I called back as a potential Customer looking for new insurance. Guy was nice I said I have a concern that my water heater is quite old and would it be covered if the container started to leak. He said and I quote... If they cannot fix the water heater they will replace it. Sooooo I said hmmm I am a current customer and you are refusing to fix it so which one is it? HE HUNG UP ON ME! it was a recorded call I challenge anyone to track the call and see how I was treated! THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! To all my military friend and family please pass this along I will also add this to all my facebook groups including 82nd Airborne Division

I find it hard to even give them one star. We’ve had them fir 6-8 years. When I used them the first time it kind of went smoothly. Using them this time has been a nightmare. I was told that my deductible had increased, I wasn’t informed of that. Then after I was finally able to report the problem I was told I had to have a diagnosis and the service man had to call them to see if it was ok to repair it. Thus was after I found a service person, called them and scheduled the call. I was never given a number to call or any form of reference to contact the company for repairs! So I had repairs done, paid for the call sent paperwork in for reimbursement and was denied because service man never called to get an ok!!!! I’ve argued with them, of course people who promised to call back haven’t and I’m out over $300 bucks. So I’m really looking around to change cause this company isn’t any help to me at all!! Believe me I’m telling everyone about them.

I purchased a “Total Plan” coverage from Choice Home Warranty for my condo. On March 6, I made a claim for main water valves not working (not shutting off the water to my unit). It happens all the time in my building due to age and normal wear and tear use. I discovered it when I had another contractor working on a shower issue and he was not able to shut the water off due to failure of the valves. Also, valves started leaking after we tried to turn them on/off several times. Then I filed a claim with Choice and a contractor came out in to inspect it. I also had my building engineer come over at the same time because he has over 30 years’ experience with my building’s infrastructure (there are some plumbing nuances because it’s a 28-story high-rise building). Upon inspection, both of them agreed to do the job together and would coordinate for the following week since the water needs to be shutoff for most of the building and other tenants need a 48-hour notice prior to the repair. However, soon after the contractor left my condo, I was advised by Choice that my claim is denied due to the fact that the repair was not covered by their rules and regulations. They labeled it as a failure due to corrosion not normal wear and tear, which would have been covered. There is some corrosion further down the water pipe, but it has nothing to do with the valve itself. The point is that any copper pipe that has water touching it will have some form of corrosion at some point, but that doesn’t mean that valves fail due to corrosion. This was confirmed in my case by 2 plumbers that know my building very well and have worked on the plumbing system for many years. Both my contractor and my building engineer spoke with Choice and clearly explained that these water valves fail due to normal wear and tear all the time in my building. It was also confirmed by my building engineer as a second opinion from a person that has been working on this plumbing system for 30 years. However, Choice would not have any of the numerous explanations and second opinion. They assigned a case manager that barely returned my calls and would not have most up to date information. All I kept hearing from them is that the claim is closed and there is nothing that can be done. I was stuck in a vicious “he said-she said” cycle between the contractor and Choice, and after a few weeks of back and forth I decided that it was not worth the effort and my time. Nothing was done to even remotely try to remedy the situation. I was planning on purchasing a second policy for my other home, but instead I will never use Choice again – even the contractor that was dealing with my claim on behalf of Choice said that this warranty company is one of the worst and recommended switching to a competitor, which I plan on doing. Stay away and look elsewhere if you are in the market to purchase a home warranty.

I’ve had choice for years, just renewed for both houses,one for six years,the other for 3 1/2. Called about my fridge /freezer on March 13 . Received call from contractor that he would be a little late for me , so he said he would make it his first call. Any he did come on the 14, problem was something about control panel and I could call the company tomorrow to find out what was wrong..well I was told I was emailed,which I didn’t receive, but she did tell me that it wasn’t covered because it hadn’t been maintained, i asked what she meant, how do you maintain a frig. She said she didn’t know . I asked her if she ever maintained hers? Any way I asked to speak to a supervisor,which she said I couldn’t that could put in for an appeal. I just wanted to tell them that the kitchen was just being remodeled ,sheet rock cut,corian counters cut up and removed and cabinets cut down.the kitchen was clean but their could have been some dust from Sheetrock behind it, also the ice maker wasn’t working but I didn’t know that not fixing it meant I wasn’t maintaining it .it did work on and off. Also I didn’t get a receipt and I would like to know who he was .. I still would like to talk to someone.

Stay away from this company. I signed up with them for 3 of my homes. I called for them to come and fix the refrigerator. They sent a company who was not knowledgeable. Then they refuse to send another company. Finally they never fixed the refrigerator. On my other home the washer failed to operate. They sent the same company that couldn’t fix the refrigerator. So, they couldn’t fix the washer either. I had to buy another washer myself. CHW is a scammer just like their subcontractors. Finally, I cancelled in writing the contracts but they refuse to cancel so that they can still bill. I do not recommend this company at all.

I called Choice Home Warranty to rekey my house, they took care of it within 74 hours, rep was very friendly but the only problem she didn't tell me that CHW only covers four (4) keys to be rekeyed so in addition to my deductible I ended up paying the locksmith a lot of money . I am not too happy about that at all Soeurette in Houston Texas

This is a joke of a company. Do not buy a warranty from them under any circumstances. They sell you a home warranty but cover nothing. The water heater tank is never covered which is the only part that would ever break down, roof leaks are not covered even when the policy states they are as does the representative you speak too. They like to use the word pre-existing a lot. They have no trouble bothering you relentlessly about renewing and trying to pester you into convincing family and friends to sign up for their awful service even when you have months of service left on your contact. I had to pay a $45 service fee call for someone to come out and say they won't cover the repair. Pure highway robbery.
