Let me tell you. Yes I did look into Home Choice Warranty. I filled out the information. I mistakenly filler in my work number. When the young man called me at work, I asked him to please not call me at work....BIG MISTAKE.. he went off on me that I was the one who provided the number blah blah. But...he wouldn't let me finish, I wanted him to call me on my home number. But he continued to rant at me. I told him he lost a sell. I will never consider this company now . They maybe a good company, but the treatment I got (over a damn phone number), I can't image how horrible the customer service department might be. All over a phone number that I preferred they called me on instead of my work number.

Don't be fooled into signing up for coverage. We had only one claim during our coverage for replacement of a hot water heater. Of course they denied it, because they do not cover problems with any type of tank!! Well how would they ever cover a hot water heater? There are clauses in their contract that exclude them from covering any type of problem. You will never get coverage for any appliance or equipment! If there is any rust they won't cover it; if you can't prove that you did all types of maintenance, they won't cover it,; If it involves a tan or a fan or a ???? etc they won't cover it!! You better read the fine print BEFORE you sign up and pay! Lots of consumer complaints. Technicians don't like them. They say that they rarely cover any claim!

BEWARE: (YES I AM A PAYING CUSTOMER!) **These policies do NOT cover normal wear&tear! **EVERY excuse possible will be given to you, instead of just fixing the issue (EVERY TIME)! **The technicians are amazing but Choice blames EVERYTHING on them! **The cheapest route will ALWAYS be taken! **They are NOT open or available for claim submissions, approval, processing, absolutely NOTHING or to have ANYTHING serviced on ANY HOLIDAY OR ANY WEEKEND! **If there is an issue the needs a claim, Choice will pick and choose how to word the denial in a pathetic attempt to ensure the issue you and your family are facing is no longer covered. (Read this thoroughly and do your homework, you WILL find the loopholes!) **Customer Service for the most part is an absolute JOKE, there are a few exceptions to this, but if the individual you get on the phone does not speak clear English... you are going to get HORRIBLE SERVICE! I could go on and on, but by now you hopefully understand what you are facing if you go with Choice as a Home Warranty! Yes the price is amazing, which is why we are still with them, but the hoops are atrocious you will have to jump through for EVERY CLAIM!! Pick your battles! If this fits in your budget, do as we have and make it work.. if you can afford something else then it’s HIGHLY ADVISABLE to go with another company! If you ever appeal ANYTHING, just know you will NOT receive a follow up from ANYONE just plenty of broken promises to contact you within 24 hours! The only issue we ever had was with our HVAC unit. The piece that needed repaired was “a non-moving part that wasn’t caused from normal wear and tear.” We were advised it wouldn’t be covered due to the fact that the “policy does not cover Normal wear and tear.” (How does this make since? Why would anyone purchase a home warranty policy that doesn’t cover normal wear and tear??) I tell you this to say that I have been a customer with Choice for 2 years, only ever had an issue with my HVAC unit, I have additional add ons to my policy... but now realizing all I have is a monthly payment that covers nothing... ( nothing unless I guess my son pours his Yoo-hoo on the circuit board and then it’s not normal wear and tear and will miraculously be covered!) ABSURD! (Also, we need a component replaced, they offered many Options to replace it with but none of which were compatible with our unit. Once they realize this and that there was no getting around the piece we needed instead of replacing that part or the unit we received a letter that stated some parts of what I said above in quotes. Once Choice took on the liability by offering these parts as replacement parts prior to realizing that this unit takes a certain part along with our 22 that will be illegal in a few days, at that point liability went out the window responsibility was no longer a priority and they decided to wipe their hands clean and inform us that it was our responsibility to get it figured out on our own! Meanwhile we went from 80° weather to 14° weather, thank goodness we had an HVAC system that worked, thank goodness our home warranty policy kicked in and covered what was promised, thank goodness choice stood behind their word to us that they would make it right or replace the whole unit. Do your homework that’s all I’m asking. I would never wish For anyone but another parent to be going through what I am currently living with two children and a home one with the disability who is in a wheelchair in the cold is crippling to her. This company has shown their true colors during a real crisis for my family, they have been no kind of home warranty but instead have been great at attempted excuses and horrible attitudes! Too bad their reasoning for why they will not be replacing the part that needs to be replaced in my unit is completely condescending in their letter. Just remember normal wear and tear is not covered, but I was advised my part is not from normal wear and tear and that letter came directly from choice home warranty!!!!) Best wishes and good luck!

I am a long-time customer and had a couple of claims that were handled very well. I also had a couple that were disappointments. The first was a pool pump that was only a couple years old and the controller stopped operating per the program. The poolman you sent was not professional and informed me the controller was not covered. This current claim was for water heaters. The serviceman was professional but again the repair/replacement is not covered. After this latest rebuff, I wish to terminate our contract. How do I initiate a termination?

I'd give it negative starts if they'd let me. Choice Home Warranty is the absolute worst! They left me and my daughter without air conditioning throughout summer in Arizona. Anyone who knows anything about Arizona, a/c is a necessity and not a luxury. Thankfully the city stepped in where CHW walked away. CHW claimed that my 30+ year old a/c unit did not stop working due to normal wear and tear or age and that I in fact somehow damaged the unit, even though that is impossible. Also, anyone who knows anything about Arizona and how things work here, you are lucky if you can get your a/c unit to last 15 years and mine lasted over 30, yet the damage wasn't due to normal wear and tear. The city sent out a tech who looked over my unit and said that the damage was all due to normal wear and tear and age. They also noted that they could see hail damage to the unit, but somehow, according to CHW, that too was my fault. CHW is now in the middle of a lawsuit with the State of Arizona thanks to myself and others for lodging complaints about their lack of service and desire to actually help. They are being sued for consumer fraud within the state of Arizona and in 2015, they were sued by the State of NJ for the exact same thing! Stay as far away from this company!! Do your research!! There are far better companies out there that will actually honor their contracts with consumers, unlike CHOICE HOME WARRANTY!

On Nov 4th, I requested to get a quote from Choice. I got a call from Kyle (732 number) at 11:13am. We talked for about 10 minutes. I ultimately told him it sounded like a good deal, but I wasn't ready to make any changes just yet as I already had a Home Warranty provider. I told him I WOULD CALL HIM if I wanted to do anything. I got a call from him again at 1:40pm. When he told me who he was, I hung up the phone. He called me right back after that, then again one minute later! That same day, I received a call from an 888 number. It was a guy who I think said his name was Tom from Choice. I told him I had talked to Kyle already & that if I wanted to switch companies, I would let him know. He said to me "well why did you click for a quote if you weren't ready to switch?" I told him I am the kind of person who makes my own decisions at my own time, so them constantly calling was not the way to earn my business. He constantly talked over me and made rude remarks. When I eventually got to the point where I was like "at this point, I am no longer considering you all" he hung up on me! I received a call the next day (Nov 5) at 2:31pm from the 732 number, I didn't answer. I got another call at 5:50pm from the 888 number. I answered. It was a person named Damian. I asked him to remove me from the call list and he hung up on me. The crazy thing is, I was actually going to switch because the price was a little lower than what I am paying now, but now I am not. Their sales staff is very incompetent and nasty. Altogether, I received 8 calls from them (including 1 today) when I told them on the first one, I would call them back. I would rather pay more for better service!

This company is trash!! I'm a project manager in colorado springs. I called to set an appointment for someone to fix my bathroom tub plumbing. The valve broke and water was rushing out the faucet. So, I called because I dont have time to go back and do it myself. They denied my claim because the faucet is not covered.... ummmm who told you that the faucet was the problem? They dont listen and get mad when you tell them what their problem is!! There's better home warranty places out there. Sucks for someone that doesnt know how to do these things, to deal with these people!!! CANCEL AND RUN AWAY FAST!! YOUR PAYING FOR NOTHING!!

This company will rip you off. Had a ceiling leak and call them , they sent a plumbing company to check it out. Off course you must pay the $65 service fee before they do anything find with that no problem. Guy comes back to say they refuse to cover your claim it was like $400 dollars not to mention they gave the guy permission to put a hole on my ceiling to come minutes later refuse to take care off the leak and damages wow. I had paid my 5 year plan in full I told the lady I needed a full refund come to say they did not refund all my money stay with $200 dollars off it and it will take 30 days for it to hit my funds. Wow this choice home warranty is definitely a ripoff good luck to anyone giving them and opportunity to earn their business..

DO NOT PURCHASE a choice home warranty policy they are running a scam. I unfortunately purchased my policy 5 months ago for $1750 which was supposed to cover 5 years on my home. During the 5 months since I've been a dissatisfied customer with choices home warranty service they did not fix my microwave or my heating system. They claim the parts to repair the microwave are on back order but it's been 3 months and they still don't have the parts to fix it and although they say they will replace it in my policy; they only offered me $175 to do so. Unfortunately cost to replace the microwave will be $750. As for the heating system I waited for a technician to come to look at my furnace on 5 different occasions and each time no one showed up nor did they bother to call. The one time they did finally come he said the thermostat needed to be replaced and he would return the following week, but again an appointment was made and no one showed up. At this point I finally had enough of choice home warranty baloney and requested a refund. Sadly they were only willing to refund me back $640 from the $1750 I paid them 5 months ago. They claim the $1140 refund difference was for the repairs they provided on my claims during the 5 month period. Wow really they never fix the microwave nor heating system and I still had to pay 60 for each time the technician did show up to assess the problem but never really providing any service to fix it. DO NOT PURCHASE a choice home warranty plan they are thieves. My next step is to see them in court.

the guy you sent quality roofing came with a pick up truck and 1 ladder borrowed my ladder he was on the roof 10 minutes came down and tried to pressure into a $18.000 replacement roof I had another roofer go up and he said the roof is not in bad shape so all I got was a$ 45.00 estimate I got ripped off estimates are free he had no intention of fixing this leak so not a happy camper sincerely bob neveroski

This company is joke. They sell you policy with “cover expensive repairs, quick repairs and “peace of mind” sales pitch and when it comes to live up to their words..they will come up with every reason to deny your claims. Last week my water heater started leaking and I opened up claim and after multiple calls technician comes out 4 days later..I was told by technician that we will have to replace the tank and you will have to call CHW. Technician said your leak/water heater doesn’t have any rust issue..it’s normal wear and tear. CHW denied claim saying we can’t not repair and we don’t cover replacement after numerous call. I asked to talk to someone else in the office..they said someone will contact you in 24 hours..it’s like my leak is going to stop..take your sweet time..then finally spoke to claim manager and he said we don’t cover replacement..I said you didn’t even try to repair and technician said it’s normal wear tear and no rust...they are just looking to scam the ppl from what I am reading with the reviews and don’t cover much...week later I am calling plumber by myself and my dime to get my water heater fixed..STAY AWAY...I wish could have given 0 star..

I’ve been a customer for longer than 15 years & still 4 more prepaid years remained. I’ve referred/opened numbers of policies for my real estate clients as I am a broker of R/E. It was first time claim during lat 15(?) years. I Called&left msg 5 times. No case MGR responded as was promised. Called 4 more times & escalated the issue but still no one responded. Issue/claim was simple & should’d been covered by policy but it was denied with all kinds of excuses. Repair cost could be less than a one hundred dollars at market cost even though some policy holders have to pay their $75 service fees. Within 8days, nothing had been done and still dragging me here & there, shuffling me around. CHW promised, 1. 24/7 service: CLAIM DEPT & OTHER DEPT. CLOSE AT CERTAIN TIME. Cannot get services 2. Can’t repair? Will place: company, with all kind of excuses, try not to correct the issues and waist client’s time by shuffling clients department to department. 3. Local Pre screened technicians: Individual Technicians might be good but companies they selected for my case was not good. Did not keep appointment time. Put 3 more appointments at my appointment time. 4. Case manager & Manager of case manager seem not working their jobs. OVERALL, WAIST MY TIME & MONEY FOR THE POLICY HOLDING FOR LAST 15 YEARS.

I am buy the policy for more than year i asked them what it cover they said everything first claim i make it about the frigiratare about licking water they send a guy to fix it but he broke the ice maker and then I called the company I told him the icemaker ever stop working on the company said it’s not covered by warranty even if it’s a technician problem and five months after I have my hot water tank leaking water from the bottom and I call and I make claim and I explain to the company what’s going on I told him we have to replace the hot water tankAnd he said he want to find a technician after he send a technician and I pay $60 for a check up and I want to say it’s not cover so if anyone he want to spend his money for nothing he can buy the warranty from this company

I had air conditioner problems, and called CHW, The appointment time was several days, from 11AM to3;00 PM. I tried to call the vendor, and left a message. I received no response! I had to leave for a previous appointment at 4:00 pm, on this date. The technician called at 1:30 PM, and told me he would be here at 3:30 PM. At 4:10 PM, he had not arrived, so I called the vendor, and he told me he probably had traffic problems(a logical excuse). Finally, at 4:17 PM, the tech arrived, and said traffic was bad. I had to leave, so I had little time to speak to the tech. I called home around 5:30 to talk to my wife, and she said he just finished, and she gave him the phone to talk to me. He told me the coil on my heat pump had leaked all my Freon, and needed to be replaced. He said he could fix it for $5000. I asked him if he found the leak, and he said no. He wouldn't need to find the leak, because the coil needed to be replaced. I told him to forget about it, and he received his check, and left. I called my builder,(Our house is only 2-1/2 years old), and he told me who installed the air conditioner, and told me to call them. I did, and they told me my unit was under warranty for 5 years parts, and 1 year labor. They came and checked the unit the next day, and after about 30 minutes, the tech told me he found the leak, in the reverse valve, and he would order a new one, but I would have to be responsible for the labor. A week later, they came and replaced the valve, put in Freon, and my air conditioner works great. I will have to pay the labor, (Approximately $600.00), And I still haven't heard back from my claims representative. I've CHW, for over 5 years, and they still haven't contacted me I would have given a zero for their action on this job if I could. I was told to contact CHW for an authorization number, before I had the local company did anything. I called the office to get them to call, and the office told me that they would not contact any HOME WARRANTY COMPANY, because of the terrible experiences they have had with them. They told me their technicians were told not to contact any Home warranty companies, because of the adverse experiences with them. I called the number for an authorization, and was told I would have to get the technician to call. I explained the problem, and the CHW employee told me he understood, and would do everything he could to make sure CHW would take care of the claim. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM CHW ABOUT MY CLAIM!!! IS THIS THE WAY CHW TAKES CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS? I WOULD RATE A 0 IF I COULD!!

Not sure about the product yet but the sales representatives were pushy, calling several times during work hours even after specified hours available. Calling me during work hours was very aggravating causing problems. They asked questions not related to obtaining a quote and would not directly give me pricing without reading a novel and asking way too many questions. One sales rep that called me was a bit condescending as she insinuated I was a liar about another service I was aware of being successful in the family. I did not want to be contacted by phone at all initially. I just wanted the information to compare with other proposals, then call the one I was interested in. I sure hope the process of calling for the paid service is not as difficult.

stay away from using choice Home, they don't have the qualified technicians.... I had claims opened, and it's been over 3 weeks that Choice Home tried to send a technician to fix my appliances. Apparently, these technicians are vendors that their company partnered with several. Some terrible and non professional vendors. Choice Home have rescheduled my appointment more than 4 times, and it's been over 3 weeks of wait! No technician, literally No one had showed up to take a look at the broken appliances. They are bunch of lazy liars, I They are rip-off, they will stress the life out of you....

I was a customer of Choice warranty my A/C NEEDED REPAIR. They denied my claimed on a false technicality , said it wasn't covered. I had paid for 3 years upfront, so when I cancel my membership and asked for a prorated refund. it took over 90 days to get my the prorated amount back from them. I still haven't got the money put back on my credit card. After 38 calls , I finally took it up with my credit card. They even sent me a check for the prorated balance they owed me and stopped payment on it. I got charged for a stop payment fee from my bank. I do not recommend this company at all. you get no where with them. they don't stand behind the warranty.

Horrible experience. Very delayed repairs and many things not covered that fall under normal wear and tear. Two months to repair a dryer. Denied coverage on icemaker. Denied coverage on ac unit that needs gas because it was dirty inside. What unit isn't? They are constantly exposed to elements and pulling in dirty air etc. Dishwasher was finally replaced but technician left a hose undone that ruined floor. Choice stated that was between me and the service company. That's ridiculous, since Choice has thr contracts not me. Policy is pretty useless. Wish I had not prepaid and stayed with American Home Shield. I had great service with them!

Though Choice appears to be the cheapest, the customer service, contract stipulations are poor. We utilized a claim for a double wall oven, they did not replace the oven as advertised. They started at an offer of $299, when I refused the offer, their offers went up 499, 799 and finally 1000, The oven which was the least expensive ended up costing $1549 plus installation of $249. Lead time for repair was long. Cancellation of the contract was $50. plus any money paid for claims. I did not receive the contract until after I agreed to the contract. Bad on my part I agree, very poor by Choice, because the contract was no way close to what was promised by the sales person. Stay away.

I called Choice when my refrigerator started to fail to cool. The technician came out—moved the refrigerator out to get behind it. He discovered I needed to have a part replaced. Said he would likely have the part and return within a week. He gave me his cell number and instructed me to call if I had any problem in the meantime. Next day I noticed water coming from underneath the refrigerator. I wiped it up and called the appliance tech. Had to leave voicemail. Got no return call. He finally called the following week to say he was coming with the new part. When he arrived, I referred to the water issue:: got blank look. He admitted he hadn’t listened to voicemail,stating, “ I was busy”. He pulled refrigerator out and discovered the valve for hose to ice maker had been loosened, but took no responsibility for it. He wiped up the water, replaced the part and was on his way. After several weeks, the hardwood floor under/around refrigerator dried; and I discovered buckled hardwood in front of the refrigerator. I called Choice—“We’re not responsible, you’ll have to call appliance repair “ I called appliance repair...and called, called, called!!! Apparently they have gone out of business. I called and , after multiple attempts, I reached some claims specialist at Choice. After hearing my situation, she said Choice is not liable!! When I expressed my outrage at such poor customer service, she said she could pay me what they would have paid the technician: $160!!! That’s like putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound!!!! And to top it off, I get MULTIPLE emails per month—offering me a Choice home warranty—when I still have 2 years on my policy!!!! AAARGH!!!!

If anyone is considering possibly purchasing one of those Home Warranties for protecting your Household Appliances, Plumbing and HVAC; DO NOT consider Choice Home Warranty. Unlike their lying TV commercials that state they replace appliances that they cannot fix - THEY DON'T REPLACE NOTHING. And if you decide to cancel, you most likely won't even get a refund (if you do, they'll deduct every single service-call at the market price). For example, you pay the policy in FULL and have a problematic appliance, they'll send out numerous repair technicians (10 or more) and they can't resolve your complaint. Choice Home Warranty will deduct every last repair person's actual market fee (not your deductible) from what you paid them if you canceled with a $50 cancellation fee on top. So you go from $1,875 (that I paid) down to $150 in less than (2) two years of owning their policy, I WOULD NOT CHOOSE THEM IF I WERE YOU. That's my experience in a nutshell... While I cannot say much about the warranty part for this company as I had no claims during the one year with the company, I CAN SAY THAT THEIR MARKETING AND TELEMARKETING PRACTICE IS HORRIFIC! THEY DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER AND KEEP CALLING MY PERSONAL CELL PHONE EVERYDAY, GETTING ME OUT OF THE SHOWER OR STOPPING ME FROM WHAT I AM DOING, JUST TO ASK ME TO RENEW MY HOME WARRANTY WITH THEM. THIS STARTED 3 MONTHS BEFORE MY WARRANTY EXPIRED AND IT IS THE BIG FLAG THAT KEPT ME FROM RENEWING WITH THEM. Honestly, I had no issues with them. I would have renewed, BUT NOT ANYMORE! And I will go ahead and I will leave as many reviews as I can with various websites online. I get phone calls from a different phone number EVERYDAY! The wait for a technician is way too long. I currently have a pipe leak in my basement and am unable to use my kitchen sink. Called 8 days ago and an appointment was set up for yesterday with a company called scrantonhandyman.com. They never showed up or called. I left work early waited 4 ours, called the number for the technician numerous times who never answered. Called Choice Home warranty who only said we can only post again. They do say you can find your own person but need it approved first. I tried this once and the plumber was on hold with Choice for over an hour, finally gave up and said they have had this problem before with CHM. So here I am day 10 with no kitchen sink and no one as yet coming. Would I recommend? NO

How can you say that I have a leak when you will not allow your tech to test it? Y'all put this in the letter to me saying (Leaks in refrigeration systems are caused by rust and/or corrosion at one of the coils and these types of failures would not be covered under the policy for repair.) Yall give the companies that come out the ok to work on anything that is less than $100 and the wouldn't allow the tech to put refrigerant in my system. The funny thing about it is that he never did have any in his little vehicle when he came both times. Are y'all telling them not to put any refrigerant in any systems and do these small mom and pop shops have a license to work on A/C units? There is no way to prevent rust on an A/C unit when you have condensation running from it. This is highway robbery and wrong on what y'all are doing. When I left AHS to come to CHW, which was a big mistake. CHW told me over the phone that this warranty will cover everything on my A/C unit. This Appliance Repair is the same as the rude old lady that answers the phone and the young man that came out to my house also. Both of the lied on what they reported to CHW as well as waiting a week to report back to CHW in order to fix my washer. I have to send CHW a copy of the paperwork that they gave me telling what was wrong with the washer but they told CHW that there wasn't anything wrong with it. If my wife ends up in the hospital cause of this, then this is all on CHW. CHW lied about the service that they provide and want me to pay to get a leak test.

I chose this company because of reputable reviews and paid them for a 3 year time period to get a multiple year discount. I made my first claim this month on my ac unit and was assigned a company who held work order for a week and decided they didn’t want the job. Got reassigned. Technician came out fixed an electrical problem and ten days later it went out again. Now compressor grounded and technician submitted pictures and problem. Because of picture with freshly mowed grass in casing Choice employee made assumption without talking to the technician who btw said problem not caused by what they claim, that we neglected to keep our system cleaned and maintained which was not true. My husband vacuums the system and washes it, plus we had a pre summer evaluation. Now I have appealed it and have been waiting 2 days for a return call from appeal officer whose voice mail still has the date of 3 days prior. Really upset at the disrespect of very first claim. It’s going to cost me $4500 to have job done correctly and they will only pay for $500.00.

I had two techs to take me for a ride. The first tech did not look at my range and when my daughter could not get the money out to him fast enough he left my house and would not answer for choice warranty . So they assigned me another company, this tech did not look at my range as well. When he did not get the money he left but he answer the phone and came back to the house. At the front door, my daughter gave him the card. He took the card and swipe it and left. When choice contact him he told them he would be turning in his report. What report, he did not look at my range. The next day I received an email from choice stating that my claim was denied due to a crack on my glass top. My question is , when did he even turn on my stove?

I have had Choice coverage for about 10 months now and can only classify it as calculatingly deceitful. I have made 6 claims with them and as a previous reviewer pointed out in 4 of those claims their first response is to not cover your situation and to point to some clause in their very fine print (rust is a big loophole for them). This is NOT how their very aggressive salespeople sell their contracts - they push full coverage on everything and assure you that everything falls within their warranty. If you complain enough you may be able to get a small ~$100. or so consideration amount from them to shut you up but this is not always the case. I suppose this is why they are so cheap. My previous Home Warranty provider (Fidelity) never denied a claim in over 8 years of doing business with them. CHW is a very crooked outfit - stay away!!

On 4th July, 2019, I was contacted by a marketer from Choice Home Warranty (CHW) to purchase their warranty service. Seeing important appliances covered, I purchased a year service with policy number ***********. We have a very well-maintained A/C unit at our home working perfectly for 26 years without any breakdown. On August 20th, suddenly, this unit refused to switch on. We filed a claim with CHW the same day. Next week, CHW fixed an appointment for TLJD Mechanical LLC to visit our house to fix the A/C with the expectation that we will pay a service fee of $65. TLJD is a dubious A/C technician in Baton Rouge. They do not have any star rating. On arriving, they demanded around $200 extra from my pocket saying that they will not work without that and CHW does not cover this work (they were supposed to get the machine started). Since it was too hot (close to 100F) and I have young children in my household, I had to give in to their demands. They got the machine started. Less than 2 weeks after this service call, I recognized that the A/C was not cooling at all (on 7th Sept, 2019). I called CHW and they recalled TLJD to come back again. This time they charged $125 for a leak test. All the while TLJD, was offering monthly financing to replace my A/C. A leak was detected outside my house where the machine is. They said they will report to CHW for taking it further. Within 30 minutes, I received an email that my claim has been denied due to rust , corrosion, and non-maintenance (for an A/C that has been maintained so well to last for 26 years). I appealed and was assigned a case manager Mr. Steven M whom I contacted after multiple calls. He responded that he got photographs of rust and corrosion and on my insistence emailed one of them. It was photograph from the attic whereas the leak was outside. Based on this photograph, CHW rejected my claim. I feel cheated and that CHW is a scam. I have to live without A/C with my young children at 100 F.

We purchased a home in June 2019. After being in the home approximately 2 weeks we noticed water leaking around the toilet in the master bathroom. Called Choice they sent a guy out who said the toilet had a hairline crack and he recommended replacing it. Choice told us they don't cover cracks(remember we just moved into the home). After days of back and forth with various reps being hung up on and transferred to areas of dead air we spoke to a rep in escalations who said they would send us a check for $100.00 to help in the repair cost which came to be $350.00. Here's the problem we NEVER got the check. I called and told them and asked to cancel the original check and reissue another one they told me it would be a $30 fee so my $100 check would go to $70 due to no fault of my own. I have called several times since then and was given the name of a claims manager who's number always goes to voicemail and who never calls back when I tried to reach someone else in that the department the automated voice said "no one in the que is available and hung up. I have left several messages on the website in my claims area and still no response. At this point my only recourse is to steer as many potential customers away from this nightmare as possible. The warranty came with the home when we purchased and I can guarantee I will not renew this service. Its worthless and the lack of customer service and accountability is mind boggling. At this point I am taking to all my social media platforms to inform everyone of my experience so they will not have to endure the same horrific experience.

Choice Home warranty denies every claim from the start & one has to spend days requesting a supervisor who understands the issues & eventually they cash out for less then the repairs .We have four houses with this less then reputable company & will are cancelling our policies. The repair workers they send out are not informed . Reputable contractors no longer work for Choice Warranty as they don’t like the scam . Could give details on the horrible experiences but it’s a waste of time. Our last claim was for A/C compressor . We were put off for over two weeks in 90+ degree weather . The repair person requested replacement but CHW Denied with a lie that our system was older then the actual 7 yrs & they would not accept the model number, pictures or confirmation from the contractor. So much deception. Will Never Recommend & amazed that customers accept this unethical insurance practices.

Choice Home Warranty is the absolute worst home warranty company I have ever worked with. Any company that has more lines of exclusions than what is covered is a company that intends to take your money and render you zero services. I advise you to read your policy as soon as you receive it and pay close attention to what is "not covered" vs. what "is covered." You will find that the policy is worded in a manner that precludes CHW from providing you any services while charging you a service fee whether or not, service is provided. I cannot state strongly enough, compare the lines in each category of covered items, to the lines of non-covered items. You will note that for each area of coverage you have around 3 lines of coverage and the lines of non-coverage double if not triple, the lines of coverage. I have submitted 8 claims since I started with CHW. Only 1 has been approved and I had to argue my way to getting partial coverage because I told them cancel and refund me the remainder of my policy. I determined I would make one more call, that call occurred this week, CHW determined that a leak in the Freon lines of an AC unit are not covered because, "It has been determined that the air conditioning system has developed a refrigerant leak from the refrigerant line. This is a non-moving component that cannot leak from normal wear and tear." There you have it, a known issue with air conditioning units is Freon leaks however, CHW determined it cannot leak from normal wear and tear. But, CHW had already approved the repair, noted the approval in the "track my claims" section of my claims, and scheduled the technician to return to charge the Freon line. Then showing a total lack of integrity, they removed the comments from 9/11/19 indicating they had approved the repair, and sent me my denial as noted above indicating a Freon not considered normal wear and tear. Due to their lack of integrity I would also suggest you screen shot all approvals in your claims section, to file a claim against them for lack of business ethics, and fraud.

they refused to cover the AC. it needed a compressor. it was 14 yrs old. Case worker said it looked like it had not been cleaned. this was a lie it had been serviced in april 2019. We had the total plan and the compressor was covered they said it was not. i just cancelled them. They were not even going to cover my dryer at one point in the beginning and the only problem with it was i did not have it plugged in all the way. they wanted me to call the repair guy out to get a written receipt for something he did not charge me for. We bought thinking everything was covered and made the mistake and extended this policy . It is to their discretion, just remember that.

We bought our home in March 2019 and our realtor recommended Choice Home Warranty’s Gold package. In May our air conditioner wasn’t cooling our home and we called Choice. They sent a repairman out and he put coolant in it and charged us $60.00. A month later the same problem. He came back out inspected the unit and said he thought we had a leak in the coils, but has to get approval from CHOICE. He put more coolant in it and left. A month later, same thing. We Called CHOICE and the repairman. The repairman said CHOICE hadn’t approved it. Now it’s September. Still the same problem and CHOICE sends out a new repairman. Same story, leaking coil. CHOICE approved having the coil replaced, but they will pay $250.00 of the cost and we have to pay $350.00. We agreed because we have had over 70 days straight of temperatures in the 90s. Oh, we are also senior citizens and have been trying to live in this unbearable heat. Now, they are telling us the distributor doesn’t have the part! We were told not to run the air conditioner because it will freeze up and do more damage. We just got off the phone with CHOICE’S Customer No-service and still no solution. We have now turned to our local news channels consumer protection department for help! People don’t just walk away from this company, but run! It’s a bait and switch rip-off!

This has been a night mare in the midst of 90 plus temps. The technician said the compressor needed to be replaced. Choice will not approve the replacement. W had to send pictures of the unit and receipt of general maintenance we HAD to pay for. Now 48 hours later we are waiting for some so called approved to call us back. Their advertising on TV is such a scam. I would not recommend this to my worst enemy. We keep getting the runaround. They have now told us that the recovery of the freen is not covered $285.00. Thought recovery was part of repairs. We asked to speak with a supervisor and first we were on hold forever and then hung up on. Called back spoke with another rep and got another song and dance. This is a shady outfit. Stay away

This company is a scam!!!! I've had it with these sleezy scumbags, I purchased their top tier warranty last year, only to run into a problem with the dish washer in my home. My home is (6) year's old which means that the appliances in the home should be about the same age. I filed a claim and received a claim number ect.. it took several days for these people to get a repair man out to our resident, upon this handyman/Plummer showing up he informed me that their is a leak in the line which is causing the water to come out the bottom of our dishwasher. This person/Plummer/handyman indicated that the home warranty company (choice home warranty) is a scam, he indicated that they get slick fast talking salesmen to hound you into purchasing their home warranty knowing that they will not have to pay for these repairs or replacement of appliances that fail, warning stay away from these people they're crap!!!!! And I believe that some of the good ratings are from employees not actual real consumers/customers. Thanks for reading, wish I could share this world wide so I can put these scumbags out of business, we work hard for our money only to have these people come alone and scam us!!!!!

Called to get my water softener system fixed. I told them my water was running real slow. So I called water company and they said the reason it’s slow is because the resin filter has to be serviced. Choice Home Warranty denied the claim. Stating pre-maintenance was not taken care of. I said every year I had it serviced for that. They said I have to email for case manager to handle the case. Never got email to get in touch by email do case manager can start the process. It’s. Even going on for 3 weeks now. No response. This company just wants you to sign up. We have 4 homes insured for over 3+ years. We always have had hassles with them around repairs. They finally correct the smaller items, but figure out how to get out of major costs. Two years ago they would not replace our second floor A/C, we did. Should have canceled then. This month our main unit went out. They gave all kinds of run around, told us our unit had lived its 15 year life, etc etc. And other reasons when we proved our unit was not quite 7 years. After 10 days of appealing, we are now paying for our own repairs. They are terrible. The case manger would not let us speak to his supervisor Mike, said he did not know his last name. There needs to be a class action suit against them for claim denials.

I purchased a Choice Home Warranty for $500 for a 13 month plan. I tried to use the warranty on 2 occasions. The first time was for a refrigerator that was not cooling properly. I had a technician out to my home 2-3 times and he was unable to determine why the temperature was fluctuating. He suggested changing out the seal which would not be covered under the warranty. The issue was never resolved. I called over the weekend as my air conditioner was not working. I was given an appointment window through email for 11-3 the following day. We made arrangements to ensure that someone could be there for the appointment. The morning of the service call, I received an automated voice mail stating the same time frame. I then received a text message from the assigned vendor stating that they would be to my home in between the hours of 3:00 and 8:00. I called the vendor directly and told him that the original appointment call was at another time. He said that they couldn't make that time and it needed to be later in the day. He assured me that they would come. My husband continued to wait at home in 85 degree temperature. At 5:00 pm, I checked my phone and saw that I had a missed call from an unfamiliar number. The person did not leave a message. I called the number and found out that it was the technician that was suppose to do the work. He told me that since I didn't answer my phone that they had moved on to another job. I was furious as we had already been waiting for 9 hours and told him that this was unacceptable since I had spoke with him directly and scheduled the time frame. He said that he had a technician close by and that someone would come by shortly. Two hours later, no call, no show. I called the vendor again and he said that they were backed up and could not do the work. We waited for 11 hours. I called Choice Home Warranty immediately after and received their voice mail. It stated that they were closed and to call back during regular business hours. I reached out to a local company first thing the next morning (now 36 hours without AC) and scheduled them come and service the unit. It took the local vendor less than 4 hours from the time that I called to the time that they were finished with the repair. I called Choice Home Warranty to discuss my experience. After several calls, I spoke with someone in client resolution. I was told by their rep not to be mad at Choice Home Warranty, but to be mad at the hired vendor. Even though, Choice Home Warranty hired that vendor. They are a reflection of their business. I also told them that I wanted to cancel my warranty as both of my experiences were poor. The client resolution person told me that I couldcancel but that I wouldn't get a refund . They said that with the prorate I had already used up $500 worth of services. I still have 7 months left on my contract. I used their warranty service once and it didn't even take care of the issue. What I went through this weekend was beyond awful. Please think twice about doing business with Choice Home Warranty. My experience with them was horrible and was a complete waste of my money and time. Save your money and pay a reputable company when you need to have home repairs.

We called them the Friday of this past Labor day about our air going out, now let me remind you, 100- 103 degree weather outside, so you can only imagine how hot it was in our mobile home, they told us they would send a tech out Tuesday after Labor Day.... REALLY!!. 4 days without air. Our neighbor purchased a widow unit for us and a friend of ours gave us one so, what is this warranty for? I have asked them to cancel my services, well will see.

Buyer beware, I am so disappointed in Choice, this is the 3rd request for use of my warranty. The first being what I thought was a water leak from the plumbing in the bathroom. The serviceman did not locate the leak, but took the $45.00 and it turned out to be a wax ring under the toilet. Next the water heater was leaking, they immediately denied and would not even send someone. Now the A/C I have faithfully paid my dues and got nothing so far. I had to pay a plumber for the toilet repairs, pay a plumber for a new water heater in the amount of $900.00 and now your denying the A/C repair. I was told the valves inside the compressor caused the freon to leak. Please advise me in writing , as I feel this is an insult offering $150.00 refund, after I have been paying for 18 months. I feel the firm is continuing to deny claims and I feel this is a breach of Contrat.and bad faith decision from the firm. I dont want to have file a court action. but feel i need to. I have contacted the them 8 times and still no repair or response .

Horrible customer service and they did not honor my warranty contract. My air conditioner went out- it was clearly covered in my contract, they stated the only reason it would have stopped working was due to rust or corrosion on the coils which could only be caused by neglect. This was not what the tech they sent wrote in his report. The unit was 24 years old and had run out of freon. There was no rust or corrosion. After two months of arguing and going through appeals they still refused to work with me and wanted me to pay out of pocket (approximately $2,000) for a test that required the unit to be removed (and rendered completely unoperational) to determine if there was rust or corrosion before moving forward with the claim. I finally decided to pay out of pocket for a brand new unit to be installed after being told if the company performing the service could document no rust or corrosion they could work with me on a cash settlement. There was no damage to the unit when the company I hired removed it. I had photos and documentation of all this and they still refused to pay the claim. The contractor who did the work said he had not had good luck with Choice because they frequently denied claims they did not want to pay for and that he had yet to see a single air conditioning claim paid out by this company, which is absurd because one of the upgraded or ultimate coverage plans specifically included air conditioning units regardless of issue, which is the policy I paid for. Complete waste of time, money and unnecessary stress, not to mention dealing with an indoor temp between 86-92 degrees for those two months. Would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

I've submitted a total of 3 claims. My first 2 were denied (which made sense why) but this 3rd one that I just submitted on September 2, 2019 - which was 3 1/2 days ago - has yet to be resolved. I have a big leak in my bathroom & it runs into the hallway closet. I am a single mother with 3 kids with NO WATER at my house because of this leak. Below is the response I get via email the next day - NOT EVEN A FOLLOW UP CALL TO INFORM ME THAT I HAVE AN EMAIL. So I follow up with a reply on the "view claims dashboard" asking what was the status. Below the first response is the next response that I got. Now, if I had the money to get my line replaced (which is probably what needs to happen because my house was built in the 60's that my pipes run in my ceilings) then I wouldn't have a warranty company because I'd just pay for it on my own. Their reimbursement option is that I have to contact a plumber on my own, have the plumber contact their authorization department (not open on the weekends) & once it's accepted with them, the plumber can complete the work, I pay the plumber out of pocket & then submit for reimbursement & I get reimbursed within 30 days. My contract is up on September 9th, so I'm sure they're just dragging it out since I haven't renewed. I had every intention of renewing with this company but now that I see how they handle their claims, I refuse to do anymore business with this company. I will see to it that they complete this work but I will move forward with another home warranty company.
