Deceit! Lies! THIS COMPANY HAS HAD 2 LAW SUITS FOR NEGLECTING CUSTOMERS. we are out of pocket and waiting a whole month to be denied fix. Took 5 different appointments till someone actually came out. He didnt inspect our problem he guessed at it then we got dennied because they stated that our 6 yr old dish washer was too new to need the repair (sump and motor) they offered us 100$ only if we kept them for another year! We canceled they refused to refund us even though no service was given. I am completley disgusted by lack of empathy! One of the reps actually hung up on me when I was crying angry and in the dark as they proceeded to just repeat the same thing like a robot. This company needs to be shut down. They lost our bussiness we really should have done more research. The repair man couldnt even answer my calls. This company is sorry. Please give bussiness elsewhere! The reason to have a home warranty is to cover problems that occour after regular warranty is up. Not to be told it's not a covered repair due to it not being a schedualed repair for its age. 6 yr old dishwasher! 6 - 10 yrs is average lifespan! You tell me that doesnt sound like a excuse not to have to replace and fix! I also did research it is a common problem at that age so they lied thinking we were idiots. Do not fall for this companies incompetence! Pure sick money hungry robots!

This company is a scam. They offer a warranty but when you call and report the items and tell them specifically what the problem is they say that if it is covered but when the technician comes and you pay the service fee they tell you that it is not covered. Then the technician stays with the money and you are tied to pay for a service that does not provide any benefit. In November I put a claim on my water heater, I paid the service fee that at that time was 85 dollars, the technician said it was a problem with the unit of Ac. I paid another $ 85 fee the technician said at the time that it was an electrical problem. I paid another fee for the electric who came and checked and said it was a heater problem. Then they sent another technician to the house that never showed up, just called me on the phone and said he didn't know how to haggle it. Then wait another week to say that they don't cover that. So now I have a link in the house, which specifies the moment to make the claim explain what the problem was. Ask if it was covered and the person said if it was covered. The technician went to the house and I had to pay a fee of 60 dollars to hear them say that it does not cover those repairs. This company is a scam. When I contacted the case manager to ask for a second opinion, he told me that it was not possible because that was the diagnosis. The technician went to the house and I had to pay a fee of 60 dollars to hear them say that it does not cover those repairs.

I have had horrible experiences with this company. First off, their customer service is horrible. Every time I speak with someone, they seem to not really listen to what I am saying as opposed to be focused on reading from a script. Every major appliance I’ve had issue with, service provider determined a full replacement was needed and Choice denied the claim. Even after being a customer for 4 years....so what am I paying these people for? I had an issue with my stove that was covered...probably because it was only 200 bucks to fix. But more than likely if you have issues with something major like AC, heater, water heater, etc., you can forget about it. They will find a way to twist things around and claim that piece/part isn’t covered under their ridiculous and lengthy exclusions list. I went through their appeals process and it took 2 months before someone got back to me and return my phone calls and messages. I’ve never dealt with an organization who was so flippant and dismissive. Even service providers I’ve dealt with have bad things to say about this company. They will not get another penny of my money. This policy was absolutely worthless.

Not happy at all, called about my refrigerator being out on Saturday the 11 th and the repair was not done until Wednesday the 22nd. That way to long to be without a refrigerator. And that was not the worst part, when I called in to the report it broken I was told the repair man could not come out until the 19 th. If I had not called the repair company to move up the date God only know how much longer I would have been without the refrigerator.

I had a problem with my dishwasher. Water was always left in the bottom and the panel was messed up. All worked except for the heavy or normal load setting so I did not know which I was using to wash my dishes. It started early November and now it is the middle of January, 4 different tech's most did not know what they were doing, each one told me something else as to what was wrong with my dishwasher. As it turns out the panel is not covered because of the "flooding" that was caused by the steam inside the dishwasher that got into the panel. The Sears tech told them that this is what normally happens but no it is not covered. This is a long over 2 months for something to not be fixed. I was offered a free 2 months but what good is coverage if it does not cover what I need? I could have bought a new dishwasher for what I paid them. very unhappy with the service.

Choice Home Warranty is the worse! Do not buy a home warranty from them. It is a waste of money and you are better off just paying the normal price of whatever it is that needs to be fixed. My heat went out on my HVAC system and I called and made a claim (my very first claim I've ever had to file). The technician came out and assessed it and came to the conclusion that the reversal valve had gone bad and stuck in the cold position, which is why I wasn't getting any heat. He had already warned me that Choice wouldn't replace it because they deny 90% of their claims. He was right, they denied me because it was a part of their "Exclusions." So, I did an appeal and stated that their warranty states that what is included is "All components and parts necessary for the operation of the heating system." As well as normal wear and tear. Also, their exclusion mentions several different types of valves, but did not mention the reversal valve. Anyway, the technician stated that my issue was necessary for heating and that it was due to normal wear and tear of the system. I did an appeal on the grounds that it was not specific in what valve and that it was necessary for the operation of the system. Choice exclusions are vague, misrepresented, and they contradict their inclusions. They don't cover crap and don't waste your time appealing their decisions because their employees are not knowledgeable and disrespectful. They will not research your issue, they wait 2 weeks to contact you, and when they finally do, they just re-read why your claim was denied. They don't give any new information. The supervisor, Michael, in the appeals department, canceled my contract without my approval, and without notifying me. I called back twice to speak to someone about it and was hung up on both times during the "transfer of the call" process. Funny how I had never been hung up on any other time I called, until then. I am beyond disappointed in this company and the services they provide. As a real estate broker, I will be sure NOT to refer my clients to this company. You have left a very bad impression on me.

Our bathroom tile fell off due to water damage. I called them to see if our warranty covered this and they said yes we can have a technician out right away and I said so we are covered and again he said yes so I said ok. Next day they sent us a email saying that they are sending a plumber. We called the plumber to see if he did tile work and he said no. So we called them back and said why are y’all sending us a plumber when that is not what we need. They told us that they need to make sure no pipes were leaking before they can proceed to the next step so we said ok. The plumber comes out and did his assessment for five seconds because we knew we didn’t need him. We paid him and he left. Next day they sent us an email saying that the plumber sent in his assessment and since there was no pipe leaking damage that they don’t cover the grouting and tiling process. The whole reason we called them several times and they made us waste time and money.... smh

Dishwasher still not fixed!! We waited and waited 2 days and an evening for technicians who never showed. Third appointment was kept but technician had no replacement parts which had to be ordered. I did trouble shoot this repair myself and called the repair number to tell them which parts to bring. He is supposed to return Sunqday. Not at all impressed. Technician is competent this warranty program is weak.

Several items that have gone out are not covered by the warranty. I understand there is an agreement with what is and is not covered. But it seems there is always a loop hole to have what has broken not be covered. My most recent is the grinder pump that is in my basement which pumps water from the toilet up to ground level to the sewage line. It will be cheaper to have my warranty cancelled and the next 3 years refunded to me.

First experience, refrigerator icemaker out....not covered. I checked the policy and it was specifically excluded. Then compressor in refrigerator went out. Normally one would think this was an emergency, since it was full of food....nope....took a whole week to get repair company out to look at it, then ended up being 2 months till claim was approved and part shipped from overseas. Lost several hundred dollars in food that time. Then, several months later, fridge stopped cooling again. Took a week or so for Choice to get repair co. to look at it. Another batch of spoiled food. They were able to fix it without any new parts. Then, recently, had them out to check my dishwasher. The repairman said bad door seals....not covered by warranty. Started noticing water on floor in front of dishwasher....tried putting down towels and called repair back. They said they couldn't get out for 4 days because of Christmas holidays.....and I would have to file a new claim with Choice. Not an emergency to them, but it destroyed the ceiling in my finished basement and buckled a large portion of my laminate kitchen floor. For 4 days and nights I finally found I could avoid any more damage by shop vacuuming the water from inside of the dishwasher every 2 hours until I could get a plumber out to shut off the water to the dishwasher. That was a quick $125 in addition to the 46 I paid for the service call that didn't change the water intake valve, which was the problem. So here I am with a huge mess, exhausted from lake of sleep and Choice wanting to automatically renew me!

So far, I'd recommend anyone else in the home warranty world. First American was better (marginally, but still better) than Choice. I'm moving to American Home Shield as soon as possible. I've had three claims with this company. The first one was a plumbing issue and after trying to get it scheduled with a service company twice (12 hrs) +) they canceled the claim and suggested I do it myself and file for reimbursement. The second one was for a dead capacitor on my AC which I'm grateful was covered since the seem to be in the business of denying claims. Still, it took a week to get anyone out. Finally, my glass/ceramic cooktop on my range cracked during normal use. I called to get confirmation on whether this was covered or not and THEIR support specialist told me their system was down but to submit the claim online anyway and if it wasn't a covered repair, they wouldn't shop out the work. Well after I PAID THE SERVICE FEE to the service provider they tell me it can't be fixed anyway and that it's not covered anyway by my policy. The exceptions list for ranges was vague and open to interpretation which is WHY I CALLED IN THE FIRST PLACE. After a snarky response from another "service specialist" they suggested I appeal the claim. Which I have. Several days ago. I've not received any communication from the appeals case manager. Not only have I paid for a relatively worthless home warranty, but I've got to buy a new stove suddenly AND I'm out the service call fee that THEY ASSURED ME WOULDN'T BE SHOPPED OUT IF THE SERVICE WASN'T COVERED UNDER MY CONTRACT. Don't waste your money on Choice Home Warranty. Do you want to know what American Home Shield's list of exclusions on ranges is? NOTHING. Your range is covered. PERIOD.

Our garage and in-law suite was damaged due to water flooding through on a pipe in the basement--October 9, 2019. We had to shut the water off throughout the entire house. Choice rep assigned a plumbing company that wasn't available until the following week. The Choice rep told us to contact a plumbing company outside of the network; we did and they approved it. The plumbing co. was advised to send the pics as evidence of leak and work performed. On several occasions, the reps stated that they couldn't access the jpegs pictures/pdf pics...finally, we paid $20.00 to fax the pics. Now, 12/26/19, the rep stated that the claim would not be paid because we didn't use a network company. We have been scammed..why would we send pics for an unauthorized job..why is Choice sending emails requesting the pics? This is horrible customer service...trickery..taking advantage of a SENIOR CITIZEN....

We will never work with Choice Home Warranty ever again!!! We moved from American Home Shield because Choice offers you the ability to use our normal contractors. We paid upfront $620 and during the year we have had them they haven't done anything for us. We have called them twice; once was a leak from our HVAC and second was our second refrigerator stopped working. When we called for the HVAC system they instantly decline just from talking to us. My normal HVAC contractor came out and the leak was do to a back up in our pump. The second time (for the frig) we didn't get to use our own contractors, an email was sent saying this company will be at our home at this date/time, if it doesn't work please call. They were at our home for about 20 minutes (I paid my service fee of $60), they took a ton of pictures and didn't not explain to me what they were doing. The only thing the contractor asked was if I had ever needed to have this refrigerator serviced before and how old it was. Choice Home determined that the claim for repair would not be fulfilled due to "condenser coil has become clogged with dirt/debris resulting in improper operation of the system and has caused the compressor relay and evaporator fan motor to overheat and fail, and are now in need of replacement." Our refrigerator is about 13 years old and proper maintenance is to clean coils twice a year, which we have done on a schedule. The condenser coil and fan needs to be replaced because its 13 years old and has never been replaced before. They do not last forever. We have never had any issues with this frig until now. They have found a loophole every time to not come and help the fix the problem. It seems as though they do not cover anything. I had better luck with American Home Shield which we still had issues, but at least they would come and help fix the problem (it may take multiple trips but in the end it was fix). That is what I pay for.

Uses providers just starting out, need business, or should have retired years ago. They often have crap reviews from multiple people and it took a MONTH to fix my washer though after all 4 visits I was assured it was fixed. When my A/C went out, the man who showed up was very rude and became physically threatening. Luckily I had other people home to witness his behavior. I reported him to the company. When you try to cancel, you will have to wait forever to get a live person, will be switched to many departments, and then once you get the right department, they will debate at great length and then not actually close the account but bill you again...in hopes you don't catch it. I HATED this company and would not recommend them in any capacity at all!!!!

Worst company I’ve used. I have 3 claims, not worth the cost of contract. Poor ability to obtain service representative, run around with customer service, buyer beware on limits for payment. I opted for 5 year contract with the addition of pool equipment. Was told that since my pump went out after it rained that it was ‘act of God’, really, outdoor pump in rain for many years, interesting way to get out of paying. Further research showed $500 cap annually on pool equipment, my bill was $3000 for the 2 claims submitted, pool filter and pump replacement, which was the average for my area. I’m on day 4 without hot-water. Was scheduled a plumber but the plumbing company had no knowledge of it when I followed up. So I had toe wait another 24 hours, they couldn’t find anyone so I had to find my own. The original plumber got back to me to say they were not going to continue any work with Choice either, what does that tell you. Still waiting to see if my water heater will be covered and if paid to what extent. I have multiple rentals, used other companies and by far this is the WORST.

I have a Maintenace plan for my Hvac unit where a tech comes 2 times a year to clean and replace filters etc , my compressor gave out eventually , Choice home flat out refused to fix the issue saying the unit is too old and won’t be covered , and also that the unit was not maintained, when I gave this information to the tech who I have the contract with he called them and sled them what they were talking about they told him that even though he maintained the units they will not cover the Hvac because of age THEY WILL NOT FIX ANY HVAC !!! Or Anything Product OvEr 500 dollars , !!! Don’t get fooled with positive comments they are either fake or less than 500 dollars . me and my Hvac technician will be taking them to court

Starting with one sentence "Ridiculous service and bluffing the customers". I am a customer for last one year and had any issue with my appliances, and last week my Dishwasher stopped working and showing the continuous LED blinking. So raised service request with Choice Home Warranty, immediately they assigned a technician and the technician just opened the main controlling board of DishWasher and saw only one roach and confirmed that board is not working due to "Moisture and Bugs". and on the next day got response as per terms moisture and Bugs, they are not going to repair the device. So, I asked them two q's: 1. IF there is any moisture, why the board didnt burnt( or indications of burnt), and there is no sign of moisture(during the visit of technician I was standing next to him). 2. When they claim that due to bugs, why there is no bugs nest or dead bugs(how technician decided based on seeing only one live bug) on the board. And without showing proofs, how can they reject my claim. After a lot discussions, they said they will repair the device with the cost of 300$ but I need to bare 150$, initially requested to waive of but they didnt, and later i agreed to that. After some time, when I did a R&D over the internet the motherboard costs 138$ in amazon and the brand new device(same model) costs 329$. I gave these two information to Choice Home Warranty to reconsider, but they still asking me to pay 150$, saying they total repair cost is going to be above 300$.

Giving 1 star...believe me i didn't even want to give them 1 star.....they are a rip off.....they lie to you when selling the policy....my exhaust fan in the kitchen broke down and they sent a technician to fix it and then after charging me the service fee they said they will not cover it as policy does not cover it...well when i requested a technician, didn't they know policy does not cover kitchen exhaust? the policy does not exclude kitchen exhaust/vent and has no mention in the policy and hence they deny the claim....The claims department is so rude and unresponsive....it's been now 5 days and i have not heard from them...For sure i'm going to change my home insurance company......now i know why most of the reviews have only 1 star for Choice home warranty......i'm looking for an ombudsman to make a formal complain on Choice home warranty.....i will never recommend them to anyone and suggest to stay away from them

Do not use this company. They are fraud. I put a claim, first claim to repair my dishwasher, they sent a tech and the tech told of two things needing replacement, we talked about 15 minutes of the issues, and what he did, he put a report completely different to what he told me. Then Choice Warranty closed my claim without been resolved and opened a new claim without my consent to send a plumber because the tech lied and told them that the issue was a clog on the piping and the dishwasher was okay. I spent several hours trying to resolved the issue and Choice was trying to charge another $65 for the new claim. This is their game to send you multiple people and charge you numerous times for the service calls. DO NOT USE THEM.

My name is Gary from Chandler, Arizona. I bought a policy from Choice Home Warranty for one year. The compressor of one of my AC started making noise after 2 1/2 months of starting the policy. It happened during the summer hot days in Arizona. I called to report the issue. The AC technician came in within two days. I wasn’t at home. I talked to him over the phone and told him the issue. He spent about an hour and call me to tell me that the compressor is bad and need replacement. He will call the Insurrance company to report the issue and request authorization. The technician stole the capacitor to prevent me from keeping the AC running. I requested the technician to come back and reinstall the capacitor but he refused and claimed it may cause fire and he didn’t want to be liable for it. The insurance company refused to fixed the AC and told me this was a pre-existing condition and it is not covered by the policy. I disagreed with the conclusion and demanded the repair. Eventually, one their manager offered me $200 instead of $1800 the cost of repairing it. I gave up knowing that they will not fix it. I accepted the $200. It took 6 weeks for the check to arrive. For this reason, I decided to cancel my policy with them. It took about 7 weeks till I got my refund after deducting a big chunk of it. It was not a pleasant experience with them and with their technician. I don’t recommend this company to anyone.

never filed a claim this year against our home warranty plan. In November we have to make over 8 phone calls to have choice find someone to correct our heating issue. After we put in the claim we continued to get emails from choice home warranty that they were unable to find anyone to provide services for the problem with our heating. We ended up having to go to weeks without heat our home temperature was at 58゚. We finally were able to have someone come out to are home However when the technician came to the home and was able to identify the issue I made a decision that my family needed to be kept warm instead of freezing waiting for choice home warranty to provide an authorization to have the work done.to repair the heating unit However because of the Fact that we had the heating unit repaired because our home was almost below 40 choice home warranty made the decision not to repair our system. As stated previously we have had no claims this year with choice home warranty however at the rate we pay per year not to include what we pay out of pocket for our the actual service call cost that we must pay for a technician to even come out to determine the problem, they completely disrespected the help of my elderly disabled mother as will as myself in my husband who are US Army veteran servicemembers and completely disabled. To all my fellow service women and service men and arms I highly recommend the That you will not do any service with this company. You will end up paying more out of pocket then for the services and the problems that you will encounter trying to have your items in your home repaired. This is no way to treat a customer who pays close toTo include service cost Indian mound of over $700 a year. This company is a waste of time I don't care what any other individuals have wrote about this company but I am I advocate for providing reviews for people so they know the truth about how a company works. Choice Home Warranty (CHW) is a sham. They contacted us many times to persuade us to buy their insurances. The sales person told us ” CHW will give you piece of mind when you need. If the technician comes out and cannot perform a repair, CHW will replace the unit.” and “ you may cancel the policy at any time” . Relying on such statements, we bought two policies with CHW for our two renal properties for several years. However, CHW is always looking for excuses deny my claim an/or not to replace my appliances. A refrigerator under CHW did not work properly. CHW sent a service provider for a diagnosis on Nov. 27, 2019. It only took the technician two minutes to conclude that evaporator coil problem without doing any testing/investigation/visual examination (except exterior of two frontal doors). He even did not attempt to look at /access the coils of the refrigerator. CHW denied my claim based on that the evaporate coil failure is excluded by the agreement even if no language in the agreement specifically defines “evaporate coil” failure is excluded. I doubted the accuracy of diagnosis. I asked CHW to send different service providers for diagnosis and CHW denied my proposal. I tried to cancel two policies with CHW. CHW told me they will refund me nothing because “You shall be entitled to a pro rata refund of the paid contract fee for the unexpired term, less a $50 administrative fee and any service costs incurred by CHW.” I was very disappointed by CHW. Don't fall in the trap and take their policy. It's a SCAM.

I bought this policy because your salesperson told me your company fixes everything. "Everything you see on this list will be fixed or replaced no exceptions" and I believed him. I even helped your company by selling 4 additional policies to my family and friends. so far this company has not really fixed anything. My washer couldn't be fixed you gave me $275 to replace it minus the $45 fee that I paid that's $230 to buy a washing machine which cannot be done. You wouldn't fix my stove because you said the part that broke wasn't covered. You won't fix my freezer because you said the part that's broken isn't covered. You sent an incompetent person to fix my water heater, it never did get fixed and then you made me pay the $45 fee again when you sent another company to fix what the first one couldn't fix. It still doesn't work right I can't even fill my bathtub up halfway with hot water before it's cold. What have you done for me? So far absolutely nothing! I paid a lot of money for a four-year policy and you have done NOTHING but give me excuses on why you will not fix the things you said you would fix. I will not be renewing my policy, I will be telling the four people I recommended you to not to renew their policy. I will be placing a bad review on every single website I can find explaining how truly horrible this company has been to me. I bought a warranty because I am a legally blind single mother who cannot fix things on my own and I trusted you. Trust me when I say my reviews carry a lot of weight with people. I received a sales call and was put through a deliberate misleading and deceitful sales pitch. The rep was supposed adamant about me paying first before I can read the coverage. He gave me a quote including roof leak of which I was interested in. He sold me on the basis of all leak roofs will be covered. I kept insisting on waiting to get the quote first so I can review the policy but he got perturbed so I gave in and made the credit card payment. As soon as I got the policy, my instinct was right on! It only covers shingled roofs ,composition roof and excludes metal, tar and gravel and all other types of roof plus the exclusions were so broad even if I had a shingle roof. He deliberately undisclosed such important facts to make sale. Furthermore, I wasted 2 hours of my time. If they can be deceitful in the beginning, imagine when you submit a claim! With most of my claims, I have be given a wait time of 3 to 5 days before their contracted provider can come to my home. When it's an issue of heating or plumbing, that's a long wait! It's faster and easier to call someone locally who can come within 24 hours. Two of my claims have been denied. The reasons given correspond with the contract details; however, they don't seem to correspond with anything the contracted providers said. I was talked into signing up for 3 years in advance with a discount. BIG MISTAKE! I would not recommend this company nor will I renew.

I would not recommend Choice Home Warranty. First, the coverage they tell you over the phone does not match the coverage provided. Second, they tell you can cancel for a full refund in the first 30 days, however they do not mention that there is a $50 "administration" fee charged if you cancel within that time. I had a built in microwave oven/oven combination unit go bad. It cost me $3,600 for replacement - CHW offered me $500. It was a battle to get them to cover $1,500. Air conditioning quit working, they would not cover. Water Softener, would not cover. Water Heater - would not cover. They tell you they cover, but the list of exclusions are way longer than the list that is covered and covers so very little, it is not worth it. Also, interesting note, they send you surveys and ask for feedback on a scale of 0 (not recommend) to 10 (recommend). If you click on a low score, the survey will not register. If you click on a 10, it registers. Avoid this company at all cost.

The customer service employees are like robots, they are rude they are impersonal even when you try to elevate to another level and you give me another customer service management claims specialist they don't do any better all they are doing is reading from a book and giving you information that just makes you even more upset that you bought a warranty from them in the first place, this is the absolute most costly biggest waste of money I've ever spent in my entire adulthood . They don't care. They're like reading from a script and all they care about is making sure that whatever you call them out to do is not covered. I read through my excursions constantly to try to make sure to understand before I submit a claim because what's the point in knowing something is not going to be covered and pay a service call if you just know it's going to be denied. This company is the worst Service Company I have ever dealt with out of all the warranty companies and I guess that's why they're the cheapest. I cannot wait until my contract is over with these peopl, absolutely would never ever in a million years refer them to anyone again and if I have my choice I would have them removed from the state of Georgia doing business here.

I feel that Choice Home Warranty isn't standing behind the home warranty insurance that I bought. They add exclusion to the policy and that is to just about everything. They say that they cover an appliance, but then they go to say that in the exclusion that this isn't covered or that. Before you now it Choice Home Warranty has just taken apart the appliance and their is nothing that is almost covered. You have to argue your statement to them that you pay for a service and they say well in section D, line 8 for instances a toilet. You get the repair man their to your house and he finds that it is broken, unusable. Choice says it is crack porcelain. Not covered.

I have had this plan for approximately two years. My first claim was for a built-in Microwave that stopped working. They sent a technician out and he confirmed the unit was not working. We had to pay him $65.00 to confirm our claim. A few days later we got a call from Choice offering $150.00 to replace the microwave. I had to hire someone to install the new microwave which I paid $350. for. So labor and material came to $450.00 Very unsatisfactory! My next claim was for an ice maker that stopped working.Choice immediately said they do not cover the ice maker, only the mechanical system of the refrigerator. Again, very unsatisfactory. I would give Choice no stars if I could because they are a scam. And I'm stuck with them with a long term contract.

PLEASE choose another company for your home warranty needs. We had two claims denied by this company -- the first was for a leaking water pipe in our garage and the reason Choice denied it was because the leak was caused by the pipe 'migrating' over to a screw in the drywall. The second claim was for the heat pump on our HVAC system; Choice denied this because, after reviewing the pictures their technician provided, it was determined there was a refrigerant leak that was due to corrosion and or rust, and corrosion and rust was not covered. (Not covered, on an item situated on the outside, exposed to the elements. Okay.) This determination was made by Choice, NOT by the technician who performed the inspection -- the technician reported that the leak was caused by everyday wear of the unit. Choice's business model seems to be collecting premiums and not paying claims.

Every time I submit a claim it’s a battle to get half of what is needed covered. I have submitted 3 claims in the past 3 years - first two were “not covered” and the third one was an offer to replace the appliance by providing half of the money necessary to purchase a new one. The way they cost control is by denying coverage. Your best bet is to roll the dice with a different home warranty company. It can’t be worse than Choice!
