They were OK with an appliance repair last year but this year our air conditioner went out and they have been unresponsive continually. We have called left messages and emails trying to get confirmation of our new unit being ordered and or delivered. When we call we have to wait for a call back that often comes as one ring and a hangup and when I do get someone on the line they have to continually check Our status. When they come back from hold they pretend not to be able to hear me and then hang up. They don’t call back even though they called me initially and have my number. I’ve had no response from my personal claims administrator in the past 2 1/2 weeks. I’ve sent emails and left numerous voice messages. I have filed a claim with the Florida state attorney generals office for fraud and breach of contract Matthew D. Winter Garden Florida

I have had great experiences when i needed help with small things, however when my AC unit went out and needed to be replaced (i paid for the upgrade to cover this) i was only given $1500 for this replacement. i am not at all happy with this and am considering discontinuing my contract with them. i have no complaints or concerns about the service professionals they sent to my home, but i could have found them myself online.

Something so simple as a programmable AC thermostats is NOT COVERED??! yea I am not satisfied and as a Realtor, I will no longer refer buyers/sellers to your company! I will look into changing my policy to a more compassionate company with better customer service.

I noticed my A/C was blowing hot air on Sunday (6-28-20) after waking up for work. I got online and completed a claim with CHW. Response stated contractors had 6 hours to respond to take my repair request. I got an email and telephone call stating a contractor took my repair but would not be out until Tuesday (6-30-20) between 11 am and 3 pm. I (family and pets) live in Phoenix and could not wait that long as the temperatures are above 100 degrees during the days. I responded to CHW through my claim asking if I could use my own contractor. Their response was I had to use the contractor that responded to my repair request or call them to re-schedule. I called the company in hopes of trying to get them out to my home on Sunday. The business's voice mail stating they were not open on Sundays. I notified CHW of this through my claim and they still denied reimbursing me if I used a contractor I found. I had no choice but to find a contractor that was able to come out on Sunday. I called an A/C company and the owner answered and stated he would be out in three hours. Terrible CHW uses contractors that do not work on Sunday's nor do they see Phoenix heat an issue, nor a priority, when needing to fix an A/C. My A/C was fixed by the contractor I located. I notified CHW of this and demanded to be reimbursed, minus my service fee. This was passed onto them through my claim. They denied my request for reimbursement on my claim now stating because I did not properly request reimbursement. I responded stating I wanted to cancel my policy then. I was sent a telephone number to the cancelling department and called it. After 12 minutes of waiting, I pressed "2" to have them call me back. Interesting I called their cancelling number and had to wait that long with no one answering their calls. My question is....how many people are calling CHW to cancel their policy being I had to wait that long with no one answering? I finally got a call back from their customer service department. They still refused to reimburse me even under the circumstances I was dealt with. CHW did cancel my policy "effective immediately" but I have to wait for my refund, which could take up to 14 days. For this reason, I would look elsewhere for a home warranty. CHW website states they pride themselves on fast and reliable service but this was not the case.

Choice Home Warranty is a fraud. I filed two claims with them and they claimed my claim was not a part of my warranty. They declined to pay for anything. Do not sign up with this company. My electrician did everything he could to get my claim approved, yet they refused to approve the repair. My electrician even said he had trouble getting his money on an approved claim. They don't honor their contract. I have been a customer since May 2017. That equals a total payment to them for $1,282.50. I feel that they should refund my money. They claimed that all appliances were covered no matter what the problem. This started out being a guaranteed repair/replacement warranty until they get you to sign the contract. Just try to collect on a claim. Now, I'm trying to cancel my policy and I can't contact them. I'm having a hard time trying to log in to my account. I surely hope you read this before you sign up with this company,

My fridge went up at the end of March...just stop freezing and getting cold. I filed a claim the first week of April, the service rep arrived within days and ordered parts. The parts took over two months to come and was serviced by another person on June 8th who told me I didn’t need the evaporator and they took the part back. My fridge was working for a couple of days and stopped making ice, freezing, cooling and started leaking water. A third person came out and confirmed what the first technician said in early April but Choice has not yet authorized the claim. I’m paying my monthly bill, paid deductibles and I’ve been without a fridge for 3 months now and had food spoil twice without any reimbursement. I received a call from Choice telling me my claim was denied because they sent me a $500 check that I never received and once confirmed, they apologetically said that the claim would be authorized to get my repairs done. It’s been a week and I keep calling only to be placed on hold for almost an hour to have the phone disconnect on me. I’ve tried the call back option and it’s been a half day without a call back. This is the first time using this company and I will never refer them to anyone else. I will eventually cancel my plan after the contract, as this is poor customer service.

I definitely do not recommend choice home warranty for anybody, I was trapped with the cheap premium price, but I learned the hard way that there is a big penalty that comes with their service. I opened a claim for a broken microwave, they decided it is not worth it to fix it and instead they offered $190 to replace it, but the microwave worth $350-$400. I asked to either pay to fix the unit, replace it with a similar unit, or pay for me to buy a similar unit. The case manager was not responsive to e-mails nor voice mail, took more than a week to be able to talk to, was very rude, even refused to connect me to a supervisor and said "she is the highest authority in the company". I also opened a claim for Oven/Range is included in my home warranty contract (all parts included) Oven glass top cracked when we were cooking, once cooled down crack expanded and shattered some glass pieces. "Choice" company denied coverage because they considered this not a "normal tear and wear". If their police states all parts are included, then the glass top is one of these parts and should be included. It broke during normal use of the oven.

I had the warranty for 6 weeks. Ac started to not cool upstairs. Tech came out and was very nice. Warranty company won’t pay for repair claiming it falls under preconditions❗️It’s amazing that they pick and choose what they want to pay even small repairs like mine❗️I will not recommend this company to anybody❗️I can only imagine what they do on a big repair request❗️Do not buy a warranty from Choice because they will use any excuse to not pay for it❗️Eddie T

I just purchased a house and was told it had a home warranty. 3 months into me owning the house the AC went out. I have a 2 month old who is getting a heat rash from no AC. After spending the mo year to have people look at it and then they sent someone out, had to pay for them as well, they said it was normal wear and tear and they don’t cover that. I have been fighting with them for 10 days. It has been up to 90 degrees I. My house. So now I have to find someone to help get a new unit for my house. I will not recommend this company to my worse enemy. They find any little thing they can to say it is not covered so the owner pays for it. What is the point of home warranty if the owner still ends up paying for it but wasted over a week to get the final answer.

I am not happy. I switched from American Home because of lower cost and the fact that your phone marketer said the coverages were the same. I had a problem with my oven door that couldn't be fixed and is now inoperable - $75 hinge issue and oven not usable. Just had a call on fix on my garage door that was inoperable - $200 cost of a spring. This is not the same coverage as American Home. I am afraid to call on a water leak on my washer, is there some issue involved that in not covered? I have just about had it. Bill Lee, Wichita.

At first the rep denied my claim, saying the only thing they insured on a toilet was if it wouldn't flush or if it was leaking. When I protested and asked to speak to his supervisor he paused me and then came back and told me the supervisor had waived that rule and that CHW would fix my toilet. Everything from that point went very well.

I am happy with CHW’s voice of technicians. I am unhappy with the time frame on much needed refrigeration repair. Refrigerators and ACs are important aspects of old folk’s living during Summer months. I’ve had to wait too many days on technicians, then they have to wait on you, only to find the claim is excluded. After being denied, a customer who chooses another technician must start the wait over again then pay another service fee to someone not associated with you.

I do not recommend using this company! I have been waiting weeks to resolve an issue for my stove (Induction). Instead of fixing my stove they have offered me money to purchase a new stove. They made me 2 offers, the first one did not even cover the cost to fix my actual stove or for me to even purchase a used one. The second offer is 5.00 more then the cost to cover the cost to fix my stove, I have asked multiple times how they are coming up with the amount, what stove they are using to compare mine too, and where they can purchase it for the amount they gave me(because they do not pay retail). I was shown a stove they were using to compare to mine however it was missing have of the key features mine has, was heavily discounted, and not available within 1000 miles of me. When I pointed out the features it was missing and asked for my amount to be increased and show actual stoves my was compatible too I was just told read section 14 again because they do not pay retail. This has been one of the worst warranty experiences ever, they do not actually cover the products you have in you home! They do not even try to give you an amount that might cover the products they refuse to fix so you can purchase a new one. All they do is say we dont pay retail, when apparently they dont pay actual prices and refuse to show you were they come up with amounts. I am asking to speak with a manager today. DO NOT PURCHASE this warranty, save your money for when something breaks because they do not help. This is not my only bad experience with them. My microwave broke and it took 6 weeks to be fixed, a second opinion because the person they sent was not professional, said he did not know what was wrong with it, almost dropped my microwave, and called me 4 TIMES from a check cashing company because my bank was out of state immediately after leaving my home! I then called me own repair man, it took him 1 hour to diagnose and fix my microwave.

I was not given a reasonable amount of money to replace my dish washer. Choice Home Warrenty Manager Lori J, said to me that I have to be in the company for 60 days and not 30 days to have gotten my dishwasher replaced or full value of a replacement cost. I was told upon signing up with the company I could call in for service upon 30 days if service is needed. The Manager Lori J said to me, the service agents signing customers up don’t know everything as an excuse for why I was not given the correct information. So, I was miss lead in what I was told by the service agent upon signing up. This company is not TRUST WORTHY....... I am so disappointed in giving the company the opportunity to rectify the dishwasher issue but, Manager Lori J was not willing to resolve the money issue to my satisfaction since I was miss lead after Ms. M knew I was miss-lead. ‘‘This is in no way how to resolve issues with their customers. Knowing a customer was not given the right information in regards to making a decision to sign up with the company or not. If I was given the correct information about the company upon being solicited to sign up and pay in full for one year, I would not have become a customer. Other companies don’t make u wait 60 days after signing up. And other companies do not miss-lead people and give them all of the much needed information on the company’s policy. Sham on Choice Home Warrenty!!!!!!!!!!!! This was definitely not the time to do this to customers since there are millions of customers who are out of work and can’t get jobs due to the COVID-19 Coronavirus going on in the world. They can do better and should do better. Choice Home Warrenty needs to hire better Managers who should be willing to right a customers issue after being given wrong information and service agents who solicits customers to be truthful and inform customers of the correct policy information and most importantly not miss lead customers to get a sale. I employ the company to not let this survey be in vein. Be willing to understand how this survey can help the company to do and be a better company that should not have Managers like Lori J and agents signing customers up who have been miss lead. Choice Home Warrenty can still make my issue right, by giving me more money and just an additional thirty dollars. Please give enough additional money that would be more reasonable to replace my dishwasher.

The technician was professional and very knowledgeable. The warranty itself, however, is very flimsy. I have an issue with a hot water heater. The technician deems it unable to be repaired, has to be replaced. No damage to it, etc., just 17 years old. CHW agrees, and out of the $1300 estimate to replace, inform me that I am responsible for $450.00! The options are to agree or disagree. If you disagree, they cancel the claim. I responded ( or attempted to) asking what these charges relate to, but it’s a no -reply email. I have no idea what I am to be paying for. There is nothing special, high end, or unusual about this hot water heater.... I should have known better than to have gotten scammed into a home warranty deal - I’ve had one before and they always end up like this!

Not satisfied with the settlement price for my Gas Clothes Dryer that couldn't be repaired as per the Technician, the settlement price is $299.99, There is nothing on the market as a replacement, most Dryers start at $600.00 and above.

As I explained to the customer service representative that I spoke to, when I declined further coverage. I'm not happy with the service that I have paid for. I've been in and around construction since I was a young, my Grandfather, Dad, and Uncles have all been in some sort of construction industry. For one, I am NOT impressed with Choice Home Warranties follow-up on issues. Please refer to my previous claims, and the number of times I had to follow-up on my own. In my industry, if our contractors had to continually call for back-orders, and fight with the 'vendor', in your case, the warranty company - they would go somewhere else. Hence, my position. Let alone the fact that I know there is an issue, and I cannot be home every time a tech is there, I have had my Mom there. I rely on the technical information provided from the technician. However, one case in point; a tech came to fix our freezer. Not only did I have to put the same claim in 2-3 times, to get it fixed because they didn't find anything. My Mom simply asked for the handle to be tightened on the freezer drawer, the last time out, after they finally found the problem, and I kept paying for each service call. The technician explained, he could not tighten the handle, because he would have to take the entire drawer face off. When I got home that night I checked myself, and it was only (2) set screws needed to remove the handle, tighten the bracket, and pop it back on. I guess I should have submitted a claim for a loose handle then, but I decided to do it myself. I'm not impressed with your back-office protocol, nor am I impressed with some of the technicians that our sent out. I'd LOVE to see that you have some type of outline for your contractors and standards they adhere to. While you may retain business for some time, eventually these types of issues will gain traction, by word of mouth, and people getting burned by technicians, paying for each service call, and also not getting to the root cause of the issue. I've asked for my icemaker to be fixed in my freezer, still NOT DONE!!! Oh, lastly - change the 'Amazing' button from your experience review, or 'OK'. Nothing amazing about paying a thousand dollars, and not getting any return on investment. Warranty companies should be profitable, but should also take care of their customer. Next time you look at an employee of 'Choice Home Warranty' ask yourself if they really understand why your customers purchase your warranty.

Bought 2 policies from you last yeat. First claim ever and it was shot down due to quest plumbing. I have two 3 1/2 year contracts with you and your sales rep Ralph B assured me that all plumbing lines were covered . He never mentioned quest plumbing. I had to pay $195 out of pocket for a ten minute $5-10 part job. Filed for reimbursement and Peta C(Claim Rep) has not replied to my 3 emails or phone calls. Mr B is also supposed to be talking to his manager to get me reimbursed. I am also thinking of possibly canceling both contracts if my plumbing lines are not covered. First time in 25 years, since we bought the home new, that we have had a plumbing line issue. So, as you can see I am very ,very upsset. Wayne Hurteau

I knew better. asked for second opinion. next company out$65. said a leak in the coil. needed to be replaced. Choise home warrenty said no, use stop leak first. Repairman told choise home warrenty that would do more damage to the unit and would not fix the problem. CHW said use it or claim would be on hold. however if stop leak was used theyCHW would be responsible for any damages it caused. it was used and it did more damage. repairman said it messed up so much it would be cheaper to replace the unit. CHW said to replace just the compressor. $350. out of pocket. this did not fix the unit and now they say the blower is out. CHW said it is not going to pay any more on the claim and it is up to me to finish all repairs. scam company. check the BBB on the complaints. I'm over 2 months without an ac.

I like the response. You guys responded reasonably. What I don't like is the additional charges after the repair quote. If I pay over $ 500 for the annual warranty and then make a service call with an expected charge of $60 dollars, and and then is expected to pay $300 dollars for parts not covered under the warranty, then I have spent $860 dollars for a water heater/repair. What's the point of the warranty if I'm spending almost $1,000 dollars. I would have done better by just buying the heater and paying to install.

Very misleading. When the salesman talked to us, before we signed a contract with Choice Warranty, we were told if the appliance could not be fixed by the service man, the appliance would be replaced with a new /equal value appliance. We went over this statement MANY times with the salesman to make sure we were understanding this statement. The salesman assured us that is how Choice Warranty works. Well our Kitchenaid dishwasher was leaking. The service man said it was not worth fixing and Choice Warranty would be calling us. We received an email from Choice Warranty telling us they would give us $179.99 toward a new dishwasher! We declined the offer. Then we received a phone call and we were told they would give us $255.00! We declined and told them that we wanted a new dishwasher as we were told in the contract. Then we were told we would have to take what ever they sent us...could not guarantee it would be stainless steal inside and outside as we had or guarantee what brand they would send us! We complained again that our Kitchenaid would cost at least $850.00 to replace to compare to what we had. Again they came back to us and offered us $355.00 and that would be as much as they could do. When we were exhausted with them we said ok just give us the $350.00. She then told us it would be 30 days before we would receive a check in the mail! Needless to say we went out to buy a new dishwasher with same features we had and had to spend $1004.00 plus installation! Please be aware this company, Choice Warranty, does not stand by what they tell you before you pay for this policy.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Your communication from your service team is lacking - I would likely get better answers from an automated system. It also seems, by their copy and paste replies, that they don't try to truly help with the issues; they're there to provide a response basically. So, for a week a part "has been ordered" for repair, but I cant get anyone to check on those parts. and, when I press anyone for answers, your team completely stops responding. My AC is out, I live in Houston, TX and it is HOT! I've waited a week for parts with no known timeframe. I have had to purchase a portable ac unit, order out because it is too hot to cook, and miss work as I cannot leave our dogs without air. Therefore, I have requested to cancel my contract, receive a full refund and we have purchased a new system elsewhere - and they are installing TODAY!! I would not recommend your company at all to anyone looking for a home service warranty.

It took a week to get a service provider to show up, and that was on the second try. They stated that they didn't even have a record of the first appointment. They arrived at aroud 2:00 p.m. for the second appointment when it was scheduled for between 7:00 - 11:00. I need not receive a call on the first appointmeat all, and the second appoinment they called but arrived 3 hours late.

We had a water leak under the kitchen sink. The technician reported that the water pipe wasn't installed properly and therefore, the claim was denied. My question is : if it wasn't installed properly than why it didn't leak for over three years? I lost my $45 which I paid to the technician - Xtreme Plumbing and Heating for looking at the leak and report to CHW. This technician may be looking into the best interest of CHW and not the customer.

I had choice home warranty and I was not happy with them. We had a water leaking problem by the bathroom and I called them and they didn't even ask questions they just said it wasn't covered if it wasn't inside the home. It was inside the home. We had to fix it ourselves. We had the warranty for a while and never had a problem with anything but we had a problem with our hot water heater. It started leaking and messed up our floor. We called them and guess what they said it wasn't covered. We had to replace our hot water heater ourselves , and fix our floor where it leaked. I complained and they said we had to pay another month and they would give us some money back. I paid the month and they sent me $200.00. and It costed me %800.00 to have someone else replace the water heater and $200.00 to fix the floor. as far as I'm concerned that company is a big farce.

DO NOT PURCHASE CHOICE HOME WARRANTY - I have been a member since 2015 - over the last year I have been treated like crap - very disrespectful (hanging up on me and just plain RUDE) - not to mention they have declined a repair on my Hot Tub (2018 - a service I paid extra for) and my A/C Unit (2019) - they nickel and dimed me at every turn - so, so sad - in the beginning they were great - don't know what changed - but I would NEVER do BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN - HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE - VERY RUDE - THEY REALLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU ! DO NOT PURCHASE - plenty of other companies that would love to have your business! If you should choose to purchase from Choice Home Warranty - you will eventually find yourself in this very same position!

If i could give less than one star I would/. They are horrible and don't cover what they advertise. My air conditioning unit went up. They covered the one part a year before and when there was a leak, they said the part was not covered, since it is a non moving part and that it was not a result of wear and tear when the report clearly said the pipe was corroded due to the fact it is an old unit. They deny half the claims and do whatever they can to get out of fixing what you need fixed. They sould like they are good, but they are just as bad as HMS and AHS Home Warranty. And they will only let certain repair companies come out and when they can't come out and you want to have someone else, they say it's ok but end up not reimbursing you for that. I had them for one year and will not have them ever again. Buyer Beware.
