I received at least 8 or ten emails a week. Four or five phone calls a week. Crazy annoying! I'll buy your product based on the questions I asked, not your disrespectful barrage of contacting me. You almost lost my interest! I have no idea if your product should get a good review. It doesn't start for 30 days and I haven't tried to make a claim.

I am a new Choice customer and my first claim so far has left me deeply disappointed. I submitted a claim for a leaking air conditioner and, 3 days later, still have no technician assigned and no solution in sight. Efforts to address the situation with Choice have been met uniformly with boilerplate responses to the effect of "we understand your frustration" and "we are working diligently to find a technician for your claim." Just to reality check the local market for AC technicians, I contacted 2 local companies and was able to set up an appointment with each within 24 hours in less than 10 minutes. So much for the idea that AC repair companies in my market are so slammed that none are available! I intend to keep pushing Choice to live up to its obligations under the contract, but it feels like a scam to me so far.

Read the fine print. I purchased and held on to Choice specifically knowing my AC was old and was going to need to be replaced at some point. I knew I couldn’t afford to replace it all on my own so I definitely needed to have insurance-so I thought. Choice sent out techs for around 4 years and put a bandaid on the issues, until it completely went out a few weeks ago. Come to find out, they only cover up to $1,500-which is just a fraction of the total cost. When they finally approved, I was told I HAD to use the company they sent out and the company quoted $4,000 MORE than the reputable AC company I ended up using. Believe me, I called and pleaded with Choice to allow me to use the less expensive choice. I explained everything to them. Long story short, I ended up SAVING money by NOT using my home warranty insurance. Such a waste! Again, read the fine print. They sound like they cover a lot, but in reality, they do not. I will be canceling.

I was please with the promptness of getting a technician a swift as the company did, however the service charge is steep for someone just to come & patch things up I your home. If your are gonna charge me a monthly service fee, some things just don’t make sense!!

I was not happy that Choice would not pay the going rate for a locally supplied air conditioner circuit board. You would only pay $265 and the local price was $370. If I wanted let a/c to work ASAP, I had to pay $105 out of pocket. You should pay local component pricing. Very upset with this.

I file a claim last year in June with a plumbing problems I thought. A plumber came out. didn't know what was wrong. I file another claim on May 5, as of May 27,2020 the problem (waterheater) has not been replaced. With out hot water for almost a month. Lies from customers reps to the resolution dep. I've been with choice a long time and referred other to them, fixing is no problem. But replacing is hard to do, I think they are trained replacing has to be, has to be the last result. Speaking to upper mangers are impossible, impossible. They will not transfer to upper mangers, they're on meeting or my job is to take care of you!! Well!!! If it take a month to get it done.. You are not the right One! to talk to CHOICE YOU NEED TO REVAMP YOUR COMPANY POLICY AND YOUR EMPLOYEES. THIS A DISGRACE TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS/ CLIENTS OR PEOPLE LIKE THIS. remember you are a customer somewhere!!! UPSET, ANGRY, 😠

We have been with them for year and had 2 claims and both were a pain to try to get resolved. First plumbing issue, had water in my basement called Choice their person on phone said get it fixed it was covered... not so! All they covered was the snake not even for the tech hours to use the snake, guess it was supposed to do the work itself.. after a 4300.00 bill, Choice paid 150.00.. next our dishwasher went out.. tech said it was over 600 to repair. Choice only offered 259.00 to for replacement cost. DO NOT waste your money with these people. They make it sound like they got your back and then they back out or make excuses when it comes coverage time. My Dishwasher cost 800.00 replace with a comparable model. Choice says they have no liability to match what was there.. well I do know I have liability waste my money on staying with them.. they are useless!

I will likely cancel my contract when you open on Mobday. Read the contract fine print, says you can choose to deny coverage for anything You consider has not had “routine maintenance”. ?? What is this on say, a water heater, refrigerator, garage door?? In AC, if U clean my coils, change filters, keep drain lines open, check Freon (which I do myself), how do I prove it? And to whom ? This, will cancel Monday morning. Just too many Gotchas.

I recently switch from Old Republic Home Warranty which was a rip off to Choice thinking that the service would be better, actually it is worse they sent 2 plumbers to my home which I paid a core for both neither did anything to rectify the problem and when I contacted choice to ask for a credit for the additional core fee which I should have not paid in the being because it was choice error that 2 contractors answered the same call, I was told that was not going to happen and I should just take as a loss, and from 05/01/2020 to 05/22/2020 my tub is still backing up. So much for having a HOME WARRANTY provider.

There was nothing I liked about the company. I put in 3 claims over a course of 4 years and was completely disappointed! My first claim was for my garbage disposal. The plumber was at my home for over 30 minutes waiting for approval to do the work. Finally he left because he had other jobs to do. The claim was never approved and the job was never done. I also had a claim for my dryer which I had to threaten legal action for CHW to pay out. The last straw was my furnace went out in the dead of winter and CHW did not agree with the price of the technician and wanted to send some else out the next day and have my children and I freeze over night. I had to pay the difference to ensure we could have heat. I have nothing good to say about this company at all !

A/c didn’t kick on. Made a claim and had someone out that day. Very fast response! After they figured out it was a re wire issue took a week to come back out. The A/c would kick on but thermostat issue apparently and isn’t covered under warranty. So still no ac and have to have someone else come out to Figure out the thermostat wire issue now.

For a rural home, CHW makes no sense. It took forever for someone to come out to take a look at our flooding AC. The technician they had come out drove about 2 hours one way so that by the time he got to our house he was pretty much at the limit for the contracted time/pay. After that it took 10 months for CHW to tell us they could not find a technician near by to do the actual repairs we needed. We had to submit a second claim only to hear back the same day that they were "having trouble locating a technician." We decided to try reimbursement but so far that has been tedious and annoying as our local technician/company, understandably, will not deal with CHW directly because it is just not the best use of their time as it is a big corporation in a big city that is completely out of touch with rural reality and not always advocating for the homeowner. It is particularly irritating to not know up front what will be reimbursed, what the caps are, or what options we have if the service recommended by the tech is not what CHW will agree to do. We cannot in good conscience recommend CHW, at least for anyone who lives in a rural community.

Very disappointed in my service from both Choice and tech that was sent to my home. The tech gave me two different answers as far as the issue with my ceiling fan. Told me I had been lucky fir the last 8 years. Then finally just told me I needed to replace the fan but it would be basic eventho I gave an expensive fan. Called the choice and the customer service lady basically read from a script and couldn’t answer my questions. And now I haven’t heard from the tech to schedule installation eventho I called the company. I’ve had choice for several years. Very disappointed all around. Waste of money. I will just call an electrician on my own.

It has been 7 months since I originally filed my claim, and it still has not been finished. The original technician damaged my bathroom, which CHW originally told me they were not responsible for fixing. The technician did not start working on my repair until 4 months after I submitted the claim. I have sent several emails to them detailing this situation (i.e. length of time of the repair and my damaged bathroom) and have never once received a response. Every time I call Customer Service, I am on the phone for at least half an hour, and I have to explain the situation to the representative from the beginning. They have been extremely difficult and unreliable throughout the entire process. I have had a hole in my shower for three months now (once he started actually working on the repair). I would not recommend this service to anyone under any circumstances.

I received this warranty when buying my home. After 4 months my top of my double wall oven stopped heating. I called they sent out a tech who said it was the heating element. I got an email from Choice Home Warranty saying they were going to replace my oven because they no longer make parts for my oven.So they said they would give me $599. My oven was put in 2014 and it a 1700 wall oven. I got assigned a Case manager. After talking to him they said the most they could pay out is 800. So now I have some come up with another 1,000 dollars I might finally be able to have a new stove. So apparently it’s pointless to have this home warranty company if you want your appliances fixed or replaced if need be. I won’t renew with them after this year.

My over the range microwave quit working. I made a claim and a repairman was there the next day. He determined the problem and reported it to CHW. They said it was to expensive and offered me $169.95 to go find my own choice and have it installed. Looking at Google I could not find a comparable model for that price much less installed. I talked with the CHW representative who just kept telling me that the contract allows CHW to decide whether to repair or replace and to just give me a check and wash their hands of the whole issue. After I told her I could not find anything even close to what I had for $169.95 she went away for a couple of minute and caame back offering $220. I believe she could have done this right up front but was hoping I would take the $169.95. Now I did find a comparable unit for $239 but now I also have to pay to get it installed. I had an AHS policy before I got this policy. I had read somewhere that CHS was the best so I changed. Big mistake!!

I like that if I have a costly repair I still only pay $45 deductible. The worst is the extensive time it takes for the repair. I waited a week for a repairman to diagnose the problem and now I have no Idea when he will return for the repair. The RIGHT thing to do is to bring the common repair parts for the problem and fix it on the spot.

Sometimes what they say is not what happens. They sent out a company for my AC and all the company did was try to sell me a new unit for seven thousand dollars and said that choice wouldn't fix it. Choice does not fix things that I expected to be fixed when I was sold the policies for two properties that I prepaid on for 5 years. I think the deal I got for 5 years that brought the service call fee down to $45 is a disadvantage because the companies don't like getting just $45. The salesman misrepresented what would be covered. They said it didn't matter age or condition. Then when I called 9 months later they tell me that they are not going to replace things or they don't replace them at full value.

They denied my claims, the policy has a LOT of exemptions, be aware before you buy. My ac had a water leak, that's one of the exemption, no covered. I hire an ac company they told me I need a new unit because this one is from 1996, (when the house was built ) we new we were going to need it that's the only reason we buy the insurance. All the parts were so old and rusted that they can't be fix, that was a $7000 quote for everything. I place another claim with all the issues were found, they send a technician, he said I need a new AC unit but the company is going to decline for sure. Company get back with me stating I need to pay $575.00 for non-covered charges and they will no replace the unit but only replace the air handler. I had the policy already for 2 years they told me if I need a new AC unit they will replace it immediately and any appliance in the house. Don't waste your money. I still have to buy new AC and installation $7000 out of pocket.

WORST COMPANY EVER I WOULD RATE THEM A ZERO! I work for a plumbing company and CHW called us to do a job. I told them what our hourly rates were and if it was an hour away we get a 2 hour minimum rate. They called me back and it was approved. We went out 3 times for them and did the work that was requested and when it was time for us to get paid they told us we were getting $120.00 and nothing more. Told me their people would never approve those rates everything these people said was a lie to get us out there to do the work. Then when the work is done they decline paying us. This was the worst Warranty Company we have dealt with. You will be sorry if you work for them because you will get paid a tenth of what you should be paid!

I rate choice the lowest rating for customer service. My ac went out and you refused to pay $35. For a failed wire that went from my ac unit to the thermostat. She Said it was because it went inside the house. How else will a wire go from outside unit to the thermostat. For $35. You lost a customer who pays $50. Monthly. Your representative Campbell did not care that I was going to cancel my warranty if you did not pay the $35. I asked her for contact info to her superior and she refused to give it to me. My appeal was of no use because she did not even consider it she simply denied it on the spot. I will never use choice again and have cancelled my warranty. I will go on social media to warn other people about your unfair practices. Thanks for nothing.

Choice Home Warranty is just like any other home warranty. Yes they do cover parts that wear out due to normal wear and tear. But if a major appliance like an AC unit develops a coolant leak and is not repairable then they fall back on that little line that gets them out of replacing it. A coolant leak is not due to normal wear and tear so they will not be replacing it. I have to have that done on my own. I know people in the HVAC business and very seldom does the entire unit need to be replaced due to a moving part that wears out because of normal wear and tear. So I guess it goes back buyer beware. Don't bother with Choice Home Warranty. Save the money and bank it. Pay for the repairs yourself because when something major happens you'll be paying for it anyway.

Service people in my area don't like to work with Choice since they make it so difficult to get paid and the service people have to jump thru too may hoops when they just want to get the job done asap. for my recent claim, I have to wait over a week for a service call and I'm losing food from my freezer every day.

The worst customer service ever. I've been with choice home warranty since 2017. Until this year I have not had a claim that required them to replace anything. This year I have needed two items to be replaced my dishwasher and my refrigerator both of which I have had to fight as if pulling teeth because they don't want to replace, only want to pay, but they don't allow enough money for you to purchase your replacement item. I requested a supervisor no one ever called me back. I've been dealing with the same issue with my refrigerator since December. I have requested a new case manager because Renee who is rude and a liar with horrible customer service apparently told them or put in the notes that I accepted the offer, $400 is not going to buy me a refrigerator because you choose not to fix it. I asked for a supervisor to contact me and that's been almost a month ago and guess what I have not heard from a supervisor or any one for that matter as of yet and I have called 3 times within the last 30 days. However, I looked at my claim status and as of 4/7/20 is says I accepted funds. I have not even received a call back to discuss funds, an amount or anything of the sort. They are publishing fraudulent information! I also paid for three years in advance. What a mistake that was! At this point I would advise no one, not even my worst enemy to do business with choice home warranty! At this point I don't know how much longer I'm going to be doing business with them either. I’ll take a refund on that last year!

Worst home warranty experience, by far. (I have used 3 and had excellent results with the other 2) I switched to them for specific coverages discussed at length in sales process (on a recorded call). They could not produce the call, nor were they willing to pay the diagnostic fee for a claim on something that should have been covered. Something they deemed non coverable, my Home Insurance company thankfully covered under systems protection plan, completely the same requirements to be covered, interpreted differently by CHOICE. No supervisor would speak with me. Only the "Appeal" person, & that went nowhere. Staff was pleasant to deal with, just unable to assist.

We filed a claim on our forced air gas furnace. The problem we had was the pilot light would not light. The technician found that the circuit board, the smart gas valve & the pilot assembly were all faulty & recommended replacing all of the items. CHW denied coverage of the smart gas valve that controls the amount of gas provided to the pilot light because in their discussion of GEO THERMAL furnaces, the word 'valve/damper' was listed. And, because they denied the valve, they also denied the Pilot Assembly. The furnace we have is NOT a Geo Thermal furnace. It is a FORCED AIR GAS Furnace & the most integral part of this furnace is the Smart Valve/Pilot Assembly. CHW only paid for the Circuit Board ($172.36) and we were forced to pay out $739.76 + $65.00. Essentially, CHW denied payment for that part of our furnace without which, the furnace cannot operate. We were deeply disappointed in the service/coverage provided & will provide information on our experience to all who ask, as well as to the BBB & our states' Attorney General. Thank you.

Choice Home Warranty is the absolute worst Home Warranty company, and I would not recommend this company to anyone. In the middle of the Coronavirus Pandemic, my water heater stopped working. I opened a claim with the company two weeks ago, and I still don't have hot water. This claim has been assigned to 4 different service companies - the first service technician refused to keep the appointment; the second service technician made two trips, replaced parts and final made a recommendation that the water heater be replaced; the third technician did an analysis of the problem and finally came to the conclusion that the water heater needed to be replaced; and now, CHW is insisting that a fourth technician make a service call for what they referred to as a 2nd opinion, whereas it is actually a 3rd opinion. In the middle of the Coronavirus Pandemic, when we are supposed to be self-isolating, I have to keep allowing strangers in my house in order to get CHW to honor my contract. On their Web site, they promote the following: "If the technician comes out and cannot perform a covered repair, CHW will replace the unit." I am now about to deal with a 4th service technician, not the one technician that they promote... I am still waiting with no hot water - cannot shower with warm water, cannot wash my hands with warm water, cannot wash my clothes with warm water. Taking a cold shower is not quite as refreshing as one would like you to think!

Agree with all the other customers who had issues with Choice in reference to paying claims and replacing equipment. Instead of replacing your appliances, they will cut you a check for $499.00...then once you complain they will insult you even more by giving you an additional $100. I Immediately cancelled my contract and went back to First American Home Warranty...they will replace your equipment no strings attached. Been with them for years...but decided to use Choice after a friend of mine talked me into a special that was going on. But then within months he left because of the same issue, and my issue came around and they low balled me...then i knew it was time to go. I'm back where i belong and i'm not going nowhere. Choice HW keeps calling me to come back and all i can tell them is to kick rocks. They are out for your money and as a home owner... you need that peace of mind...Choice is totally stress for you. And just so you know....my particular issue was my washing machine. It stopped spinning and all Choice did was send out a technician....who after 3 weeks who said it couldn't be fix it. He order multiple parts, replace them, and nothing. Reported it back to Choice ...and what i assumed would be a replacement washer next, turned into them firing that technician and hired another technician from another company. This technician had similar issues...they order parts as well...and guess how long that took....3 weeks. Then they finally said we will depreciate your washing machine and give you $499. My washer was one of the new sensor washers so they shorted me $300....so when I complained they ended up offering $550...like really. To top it off you had to wait 2 weeks to get the check. That ended up being 2 months without a washer. Again they can kick rocks!!

Ac was not working and they denied my claim because a “refrigerant leak would have been prevented by routine maintenance “. When I had a tech out at the end of last year it was working just fine. How often are you supposed to have routine maintenance done? I have never had any issues with my previous warranty company but choice was cheaper each month. Well cheaper is not always better. I will be going back to my previous warranty company. The tech they sent was great though. Also they tried to get me to take advantage of a deal for a home alarm system which I do not need because I already have one and the agent became very upset that I was not interested. All around have not had a good experience with them.

Your response time was excellent but every time I use the warranty the tech say you guys don’t cover what I need done. I am on a fixed income and my wife has lost her job due to the Covid-19 and this last claim cost me over $800. If this was the first claim like this I wouldn’t think much about it but it is every claim that has cost me more or they said it wasn’t covered. Time to start shopping around.

In Nov I opened a claim on my Kenmore refrigerator due to it not working properly. Repair man came and figured out what part was broken and submitted the information. The tech attempted to order the part but was given the run around by the suppliers. Then was told the part is not available. According to the tech this information was passed to choice. The stop gap measure the tech put into place finally stopped working and the fridge was useless.. Contacted Choice again and they finally processed the fridge as needing to be replaced. Choice then offers 499.99 to replace the single door refrigerator. Only problem is this is not what i have. i have a french door refrigerator that cost 4 times that amount. the contract states that Choice can offer what ever they feel is acceptable for replacement of my appliance. when i complained they stated that the first offer was just a form letter that goes out in all cases and after consideration they could offer 699.99. Still not even half the cost of a decent french door refrigerator on sale. Also funds are sent via usps and can take up to two weeks to be received during a time when going out the house for anything puts ones health at risk. So if you have Choice then don't expect them to replace your appliance. Even keeping up with repairs seems to be difficult for them. From my first claim till now it's been six months. Even other claims are hit or miss. they do not verify the techs they use. ive had to request different techs on multiple occasions due to incompetence. i give choice zero stars and i would not refer them to anyone.

When I was searching for home warranty companies I called Home Choice Warranty and their product was sold to me by a very enthusiastic sales person. I was told that all of the major home systems were completely covered including hot water heaters. Our hot water heater went out recently and our claim to replace the water heater was denied. We were told that our water heater tank exceeded their size limit of 75 gallons. At no point did the sales person tell us that there was a size limit. I wonder what other loopholes they have for other home systems such as HVAC? When we told the appeals representative that we were willing to replace our 80 gallon tank heater with a 50 gallon tank, the company found a LOOPHOLE and again denied our claim. They did offer to pay $350 dollars toward a $975 dollar bill but that is not what I paid for. I was told that they would cover 100% of the replacement cost minus a $75 dollar service fee, which we have already paid. The technician that Home Choice Warranty sent to my home told me that in his experience Home Choice has consistently denied claims to replace hot water heaters. He told me that AMERICAN HOME SHIELD seemed to be more reliable when it came to paying to replace hot water heaters. My father has used American Home Shield for years and has made multiple claims with satisfactory results. I will be going with American Home Shield since I have canceled my policy with Choice Home Warranty. By the way they charged be $50 to cancel.
