We purchased a policy with Choice Home Warranty for our home. We submitted a claim for repair of a stove top and oven. The first hassle was finding a technician. Choice was unable to provide a repair technician and, in working with our own techs, we wasted hours of time navigating a sub-par customer experience and poor communication with Choice. 45 days wasted & 5 calls trying to figure out their process. We ultimately found our own technician. The second hassle was at the request of Choice, we were asking to obtain a second opinion. With two quotes from two different providers in hand, there was always some documentation missing Finally, on the day of the repair, with the tech standing in my kitchen, we received verbal approval for the claim. We executed the repair and the claim was denied. The appeal to the claim was also denied. They seem intent on finding every reason to delay, deny or refuse payment. The entire experience has been sub-par, even for an insurance company. We're pursuing BBB claim and potentially legal action. Stay away from this terrible company

Water heater had a crack in it. Choice technician explained it was beyond repairs. Choice Home Warranty did not honor the claim. Did NOT fix or replace the Water heater. I was told the reason the claim was denied because they call it a storage heater, and not a water heater. It is clearly a water heater. I feel as though they are getting a monthly payment for nothing. Very upset.

I was only with your company for 1 month even though I paid upfront for 6 yrs. I cancelled my policy #426150243 today due to your TERRIBLE customer service and my experience with your "case & resolution managers", and also due to the fact that I was denied a technical/plumber's/diagnostic report from my claim #108518862 that I needed for my insurance company in order to process the claim that I filed to fix sheetrock that had to be replaced after the plumber fixed my leak. After several attempts to contact the case manager Miyah S, she never returned a call. I have been on hold for up to an hour, and then hung up on without receiving a call back. I've called, e-mailed, and submitted inquiries through your online system. Anytime I spoke to someone they always said that I have to schedule an appointment with the case manager who wouldn't call back until 2 days later. I never received follow-ups. Miyah sent an e-mail once AFTER resolution manager Ashley S assisted me. Ashley was amazing and was the only person who I ever spoke with who actually assisted me in any way. Your terrible response time killed any positive experience that I thought I had. The contractors were all great, but your company is terrible when dealing with your clients. This was a terribly frustrating experience and I will select another home warranty company. It is VERY clear that you do not appreciate your customers.

I reported my gas dryer two weeks ago and it still isn’t fixed. Seems like Choice takes the most inexpensive method which delays repairs. This is my second poor experience as I had a pressurized toilet tank leak soon after purchasing Choice and got the run around on my first call. One rep said they didn’t cover corrosion (it was a pin hole leak in plastic) and I had to threaten to cancel my policy to get action. Eventually a recovery specialist sent me a check so I could replace the tank myself! I have no idea when my current dryer issue will be repaired!! The technician recommended replacing the motor on my dryer and that was denied.

I was happy with my appliance technician but Choice Home Warranty has a long way to go to ever get my business again. I would not recommend them to anyone. I go out of my way to ensure no one I know makes the same mistake. The loop holes for what they don't cover and the quality of some of their vendors is disappointing. Choice Home Warranty in my opinion make great effort to avoid covering anything. Their business model appears to bank on disapproving repairs. The technicians that I have dealt with are frustrated with the "GAME" as well. Got the home warranty with the home purchase but will not renew it. I have paid the service fee in the past to repairmen who could not fix the simplest of problems. Then turned around and hired someone I felt more qualified and the problem was fixed in a few minutes with laughter of what the Choice Home Warranty selected company had told me. Disappointed with the ability to call Choice and talk to decision makers as well. How can you tell me my claim is denied, is not outlined in your literature, a judgement call made by someone I am not allowed to speak to. Simply disappointing.

I would give this company a zero if I could. I paid $500 for a year of coverage and when my refrigerator went bad the tech came out said he won’t fix it due to the Freon peeking from the freezer. What I didn’t know is the tech broke the water line to the refrigerator and caused water damage to my floors and kitchen cabinets. I had to put a claim in on my insurance and have major repairs done pay a deductible and still buy a new refrigerator. After refusing to sign a new policy with choice home warranty they tried to charge my bank card without my permission which I had to block. I got on there site on Facebook and left a review of my experience not only did they remove my post they blocked me. I was so angry, then I found a group on Facebook called choice home warranty scam and found out this company is shaming people for millions and doing the same thing to thousands of other people. This company is nothing but a scam all they want is your money and once they have they will never repair anything for you. And if you don’t believe me look on google and you will see no reviews because they don’t want the truth to be told. Also this company is being sued by multiple states in class action suits.

I bought a house and the seller purchased the "Choice Ultimate" policy from Choice Home Warranty. The week we moved in the AC broke, this was the beginning of September in the South, so it was very hot. I called to put in a claim and they sent someone out to look at it. Choice Warranty told me they would have a decision in the next couple days. I have a 2 year old and I asked them what they expected me to do for "the next couple of days" with no AC while I waited for them to make a decision. They just apologized and said they understood my concern (literally the response I received). Needless to say, even though my HVAC should be covered they found a reason not to pay for the repair anyway. Now, several months later I go to file another claim because my garage door won't open. The trick here is that they only cover the motor- nothing else. If the problem is anything other than that, they don't cover it and we still have the pay the deductible just to have them send someone out. Then we have to spend more money to actually have someone come out and fix it. I thought I was getting a good warranty because of the long list of things they say it covers. The problem with the long list of things they cover is that those things are broken into subsequent categories in which they hardly cover anything. They only cover one or two things pertaining to those larger categories. So basically having the home warranty is pointless and a HUGE WASTE OF MONEY and I am still having to pay for every single thing that has broken in my house that the warranty makes you believe they will cover. Needless to say, I am disappointed and will never use or recommend someone use them.

I have found most of their service companies rude. On one claim tech came to my home 1-4 and said should have part in 2-3 days. It’s 1-25, and I’m still waiting. I’ve called multiple times and never get an answer. They won’t return my call. I had a claim denied I thought was wrong.

Choice Warranty is not something I would recommend to anyone. I called to make a service request. I explained the reason for the service call to Warren and after a short discussion Warren advised he had setup the service call to correct the problem. The service call was set for for the next day and I received an email with the details from Choice. The tech came the next day and repaired the problem. I then received an email from Choice advising me the the service call was not approved. I received a call from the company that repaired the drain and was advised that Choice would not cover the service call and I had to pay them $75.00. I contacted Choice and asked to speak to a manager after I was advised by Maria that there was nothing she could do and would have to reach out to a manager and I would receive a callback or email in about 24 hours from a manager. bad service bad service bad service

I have yet to use the service, so can't judge that. However, the salesman I had was awful. I literally sent an email request and received a phone call asking how I'd like to pay. Said I literally just inquired about this and needed to do more research. I'm in sales and understand commission, I get that. Told my rep I needed time to look it over said he was there til 5pm. I intended to call back regardless of my decision. I was called back at 2pm by the same rep wondering what I intended on doing; re: visa, mastercard etc. I'm disappointed I actually bought this from him now. High pressure. Not good. May cancel this due to this salesman's tactic. He needs a lesson in sales. I may have paid the 1st payment, but may cancel and go with someone or a company that gives me a freaking day to collect my own thoughts. Poor rating is purely off of the salesman, not the insurance.

I have been with Choice Warranty for 44 months. Choice Warranty does whatever they can do to avoid covering the cost of repairs. Recently I turned in a claim for my DE filters were in need of repair. When I called them they said they would send a technician out, not sure why they would have a technician out if they do not cover the filter system. After the technician came out he stated that the filters needed to be replaced. Choice warranty stated that the filters had not been maintained via an email and that they were denying the claim. I called them and asked who told them that the filters were not maintained and they stated that the technician had told them that and besides that they do not cover the filter element. I told that person I know for a fact that the technician did not tell them that because he stated that the filters had holes in them doe to normal wear and tear. They then assigned me a case manager for further review. When speaking to the case manager she also stated that Choice Warranty did not cover the filter element and that the technician stated that there were missing parts. I told her that he did not state that there was missing parts and that he stated that one of the rods that hold the filter system together was not staying in place when you take the filter system apart. The technician recommendation was to replace the entire filter system grid. The case manager stated that she was going to call the technician to verify that there were no missing parts. When she came back on the line she stated that the claim had been denied. I asked her if the technician told her that there was missing parts and she said yes. I said to her he just told you that and she said no that she could not get ahold of them. Not sure how she moved forward denying the claim when she could not get ahold of the technician. I then asked her what was covered on the filter system if the filter elements are not a covered item. She said only the timer was a covered item. I said, well he’ll mine don’t even have a timer. STAY CLEAR, BEAWARE AND TELL THEM YOUR NOT INTERESTED. Look at reviews most home warranty companies are ranked better than Choice Warranty. I wished I had and it would have saved me a lot of frustration. Roddy Hughes

My first claim and I had to pay hundreds out of pocket for a replacement garage door opener. The unit was replaced with one non-comparable and I had to pay extra for a remote, upcharge $100 to get a battery backup opener like the one that malfunctioned and another $75 for a keypad and $65 so that I could have two garage remotes. I would have been better off going to Home Depot and buying a reputable garage door opener that already included the items I was upcharged for!

Choice would rather continue to pay an HVAC repair company to continue to come out to my house to replace fuses rather than just replace the box. They say they are not responsible for faulty installation well neither am I. And the fact that they would rather CONTINUE to pay to replace fuses shows they are not a financially savvy company nor do they care about their customers. So far at least they hired a decent HVAC company but Choice itself doesn't care about their customers. D-

After looking into home warranties and talking to CHW, they called me back several times "sweetening" the deal to entice me to purchase their warranty. They went through the contract with me each time and each time I asked them what is and isn't covered. They have a paragraph for each item that is covered for what is covered and what isn't covered. What each of them neglected to tell me is that while they say they will replace your entire piece of equipment if it quits working, their is fine print that states the max payout you can receive is $1500!!! I asked them several times to ensure, especially that my a/c would be covered and was always told, yes, it would totally be replaced. That is a LIE!! When my unit quit working after paying them almost $2500 over several years for my warranty, they played the game of what they could do, then who I had to use, then told me they couldn't get me product so I had to settle for a cash settlement and then gave me on $1500 for a complete AC replacement that cost well over $6000!! I can't believe they are still in business. I was told my management that their salesmen are a little rambunctious. I told him they were liars and he just laughed and I lost a lot of money.

I went to mak my claim an the customer advisor stated that it would be 89.00 for me to pay the company doing the work. He said my service fees has increased and I should have got an email on the new fees for 2021. We I didn't and I'm not going to pay this much for your service. Right now i don’t like anything about CHW, every time i submit a claim you always try to find a way of not paying for what is broken. This has happened to me numerous time, just recently with my home A/C compressor, the tech you sent said it was a bad compressor, yet CHW came up with all this other stuff that had nothing to do with why it didn’t work. Just to try to say it wasn’t normal wear and tear.

I've had CHW insurance snce 2017. December 28 2020 I placed a call to get service on my HVAC system. A local heating service company came out and found several problem and recommended my unit be replaced. CHW denied replacing and even repairing the unit I was insuring. I called to refute their claim and ask for a reevaluation. Bottom line: they want my monthly insurance premiums but do not to provide service or return my calls. I am 80, living alone on social security and would like to be assured i have heat in my home without paying exorbitant ekectric bills becuase my unit is not working properly.

I did not like the service and will not recommend your company to anyone due to the fact no technician was found to do the work needed. I had to call my own plumber who was not familiar with the inner workings of your warranty policies. I was told my claim was denied due to me not having prior authorization for the repair and the claim was not filled out properly. I feel this was an injustice due to the fact I was inconvenienced and delayed work that was desperately needed in a timely matter and then to have the claim denied due to not wanting to wait any longer. The claim was filed on a Saturday and the work wasn't done til Sunday. This seemed to be another example of taking advantage of a customer due to circumstances beyond their control. I am a Disabled VET and could not wait any longer for repairs to be done and to deny my claim because all the steps were not followed properly because me and the plumbing company I chose was unfamiliar with your process. A good company would try to understand and help, not look for a way to not pay a claim.

If there was a zero star rating for this company, that is what I would select. They lie to you when you buy their warranty and you don’t get to select your own technician. When you have a claim, they send out a technician with no experience or deny the claim if the technician suggests replacement. I had a 40 year old furnace in my house that stopped working for 2 plus weeks with 30 degree temps and choice kept calling out a new tech because they didn’t want to pay for a replacement. They sent out a tech who had no experience and never called me back while he was waiting for a part supposedly to fix it. I cancelled my warranty after that experience and will never again deal with them. Save your money and DO NOT purchase anything from this company

If I could give zero stars I would. This is a scan company. I’ve had to fight for any claim I’ve submitted to be paid, after it’s been received and they always try to add on additional uncovered charges. Claims specialists have perfected the ability to not return calls and if your call get escalated, you will make 10 calls for every 1 from the person handling your claim. Customer service is non-existent, reimbursements take much longer or end up being denied after you pay to have the work done and contractors complain about working for them. Just don’t sign up or you will regret it.

I have dealt with 3 different home warranties and this one was the worst one ever. They are so bad that there is a Facebook group dedicated to disliking these people. They cover very few things. I've had situations over holidays when they called a plumber that didn't show up. I was told to get my own and got stuck with a bill. Then there was the time when they told the repairman to fix my hot water tank and the. Called him and told him that it wasn't covered. I got stuck with an unexpected $1600 bill. Check with the better business bureau in your state before deciding to do business with them.

Microwave broke could not fix case manager said he or she called I finally called and was helped told you only would pay 191$ to replace microwave. I paid 1200$ for 3years and you can pay is 191$ not happy with service from choice

Basically these guys will screw you with blanket statements any way they can. Even when their wrong and you go through their months long appeals process they will say to you lack of maintenance or pre-existing condition. Then you will try to sue them and realize your in a binding agreement to go through Arbitration which can cost thousands of dollars which ends up being more than the appliance your trying to get replaced. These guys are a scam they sucked my $1,200 ANY MATTER IN DISPUTE BETWEEN YOU AND THE COMPANY MAY BE SUBJECT TO ARBITRATION AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO COURT ACTION PURSUANT TO THE RULES OF (THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION OR OTHER RECOGNIZED ARBITRATOR), A COPY OF WHICH IS AVAILABLE ON REQUEST FROM THE COMPANY. ANY DECISION REACHED BY ARBITRATION SHALL BE BINDING UPON BOTH YOU AND THE COMPANY. THE ARBITRATION AWARD MAY INCLUDE ATTORNEY'S FEES IF ALLOWED BY STATE LAW AND MAY BE ENTERED AS A JUDGMENT IN ANY COURT OF PROPER JURISDICTION.

The Bad Reviews you read about this company are true. I hope anyone seeking homeowners insurance read about his company first. I had Choice when I purchase my home in 2016 until 2019. They would call annually for the renewal. I was still checking rates and prices when I was contacted in 2019 and educated the rep that I like to be an informed shopper and was still checking rates after he made his offers and pitch for the renewal. The rep than asked me to spell informed and you could hear other reps in the background laughing after he asked me to spell it. I disconnected the call and looked up their reviews to find others have had similar experiences with this company. They have a horrible culture there. There are also extensive reviews of them denying claims for their customers. They offer a very competitive rate, but I urge everyone to read the reviews before wasting your money with this company.

We bought a house along with a three year warranty through CHW. Our AC unit went out and every excuse possible was given to us so it wouldn’t be covered. Reaching our case manager was difficult and he was not helpful in resolving our problem. We already relayed this information to several people from CHW but it needs to be public. We have submitted several claims for different appliances and they are rarely covered. Our refrigerator repair was covered but now the repaired part is leaking and the refrigerator needs replaced and CHW says they won’t cover it. Absolutely would not recommend using this service- it has been more an inconvenience than helpful.

Nothing is covered. CHW knows what parts of appliances and other stuff you are looking to cover break more often , they don't cover them at all. The cheap parts are covered because they don't cost much and they pocket most of the money. You are paying for the whole year service plus you still have to pay the service call fees. The cheap parts that are covered, you are paying for it by the money given for the service call. CHW pays nothing. Don't waste your time and money with them. If your systems break down completely, they would not replace them because they are saying it is broken because of certain parts of the unit which is not covered.

3 out of 4 times you are never able to find a technician. When I try on my own no companies want to deal with a warranty company. And the reimbursement process is cumbersome and technicians don't want to do all that. I had a refrigerator go out and I was offered $375.00 to replace. Ridiculous, when I complained was told that is the going rate that I should be able to buy a refrigerator for. This was a full size refrigerator. Again ridiculous, they then "offered" me $500.00, as if i had a choice. Cheapest fridge I could find was $1000.00 and that didn't even compare to the one I had. I was told I was given a credit for my next service call. Then when I made my next claim I had to tell them it should be free. Was told it would be taken care of with the technician but of course it wasn't so I had to pay him. I replied that I wanted a check for the amount not another credit since this obviously didn't work. I have not had a response to this as of yet. I put in 3 claims on 12/10. They found 1 technician for 1 issue. He was here on 12/18. The other 2 they sent the normal we can't find anyone...but we'll keep looking but you have the option of calling someone yourself and being reimbursed. I can't find anyone that wants to deal with you. In the meantime I don't believe you are still looking. I have sent a reply asking if anyone is still looking because I can't find anyone. What good does it do me if I have to find my own service people and then have them do a bunch of paperwork and hope I get reimbursed to have a warranty service. I'd never do it again!

They didn't work with the vendor that sold me the unit under Choice in 2019. They still haven't found a technician and won't process a reimbursement because I didn't know about the reimbursement option until the work was done.

Acceptable response time providing a technician to come out. Reimbursement of replacing equipment should not take too long. Someone may not be able to make a purchase prior to receiving the reimbursement.

The warranty will cover a new part for my completely broken fridge, but the soonest appointment was in 7 days. That’s a long time when your fridge is broken. I’m skeptical of this company having enough business relationships with enough companies for these repair services.
