Not pleased with the last determination of a claim; HOWEVER the technician, Melvin B with Clear Water Group, LLC is outstanding. The 3 stars is based on the claim denial (that line/set of lines about broken/missing parts on sinks, tubs or faucets in the warranty agreement needs to be changed. ), not towards Clear Water Group.

Upon review of your specific claim, the failure that occurred to your unit, is not “Included” in accordance with the terms and conditions of our policy.
Although this type of failure wasn’t covered under our policy terms, this is only 1 out of the 15 systems and appliances in which we provide coverage.

Microwave stoped working . Choice warranty sent out tech who said it would cost more To. repair than replace. Microwave was under 4 years old and matched GE appliance that I had replaced at same time. The over the range GE microwave Model JVM3160rfss was still available @ $258.00 Plus $50 shipping & Inst of $100. Choice Home would only pay $191. AS of 10-4-21 after many phone calls I still have not received $191. I paid out of my pocked for microwave to be replaced. Choice Warrenty advertise they will replace but with something cheaper or not at all. Looks I will have to get lawyer to get the $191. Cancelled the policy I had already taken for the next year. Advise not to do business with Choice Home.

At this point I'm not sure how I like CHW. I definitely dislike that we have been waiting since Wednesday the 29th to find out if this is something that CHW is even going to cover. I supposedly purchased a package that would cover everything, but it's beginning to look like that may not be the case. The technician that came was great, very passionate about his work.

It’s a scam…… When we sign a contract in 02/2021 sales person assured us that if appliance will not be repairable it will be replaced. In 09/2021 our refrigerator died. It took almost two weeks to get an assessor after multiple no shows and time lost on the phone of rescheduling the appointment. We been called liars and got yelded at by contractors customer service representative. Their contractors virtually do not exist because there is no trace of them so you cannot even warn other people to stay away from their contractors. So after refrigerator was assessed as not repairable. It took another 10 days to set an interview with CHW representative who told us that CHW is not going to repair or replace but instead will pay $736 which is a barely an 1/3 of a new refrigerator of similar capacity/ features. Now we have to wait another 30 days for that money to be sent us. What a scam!!!

If CHW can’t fix the appliance they offer to pay you a discounted price off of their wholesale price. In most cases it will cost you double to replace the unit with a like kind unit. On AC units they do not pay labor or Freon. I had an AC unit go out and three service companies and four weeks later (100 degrees outside) they offered me nothing. The service company wanted $2,100 labor and 450 for Freon.

I was very disappointed with the office staff. they apparently gave my land line to the tech and not my cell. He said he sent msg but of course I didnt receive it because he was sending it to the wrong phone. So once we cleared that up he came that day. Very late I might add (7:30pm) He was very polite and friendly.

ACTUALLY, A 1 RIGHT NOW IS TOO MUCH. AS A CUSTOMER SINCE 2015, I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN CHW. SINCE THIS TIME I CAN RECALL MAYBE THREE SERVICE CALLS 2 WERE GARAGE DOOR OPENER WITHIN 1 YEAR WAS WARRANTIED BECAUSE OF A BAD MOTHER BOARD, AND A PLUMBING ISSUE. I HAVE A CLAIM FOR MY WATER HEATER THAT STOPPED HEATING THAT YOU ALL HAVE DENIED. WHAT DO YOU ALL COVER??? I COULD HAVE BEEN PUTTING THIS $39, IN THE BANK FOR EMERGENCY REPAIR. I HAVE REFERRED MY CO-WORKER TO CHW, AND RECENTLY REFERRED ANOTHER FRIEND. NOW WHAT'S EVEN MORE UPSETTING IS I ASKED FOR AN APPEAL. THE CASE MANAGER, SEAN W, EMAILED ME YESTERDAY, HE SENT A LINK FOR ME TO SCHEDULE A TIME FOR HIM TO CONTACT ME; I EMAILED HIM BACK TO LET HIM KNOW THE LINK SAYS PAGE NOT FOUND. I LET HIM KNOW IN THE EMAIL THAT HE COULD CONTACT ME ANYTIME AFTER 10 AM, I CALLED TWICE AND LEFT A VOICEMAIL, I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM ANYONE. NOT HAVING HOT WATER IS A NECESSITY, YOU DON'T REALIZE HOW MUCH YOU NEED IT TILL YOU DON'T HAVE IT. IF I DON'T RECEIVE A CALL BY TOMORROW YOU ALL CAN CANCEL MY MONTHLY AUTODRAFT AND SERVICE. AND BELIEVE ME I WILL CONTACT THE BBB, SOCIAL MEDIA (ALL OF THEM) AND WILL HAVE MY FRIENDS STOP THEIR SERVICE WITH CHW AS WELL. THANK YOU!!!

Just like all other home warranty companies, CHW will only pay for small or minor repairs. Anything big affecting the air conditioning or hot water heater you will deny coverage. I’ve not only experienced this myself but I’ve also heard this from several repair companies in my area. I’ve been a CHW customer for past 3-4 years and have several policies but based on my own experience, CHW policies are not worth the money or the peace of mind it claims it offers. So I will be moving to maintenance policies as those are better for protecting your equipment from costly repairs.

I filed a claim for my pool heater and it was denied. According to them there was rust and pre existing damage to the part needed. I hired another pool specialist and paid out of pocket. I personally inspected the damaged part and the whole pool heater and came to find out there is no rust and this mother board is known for failing in these pool heaters. I contacted CHW to submit proof of repairs such as pictures and evidence showing that there was no rust and no foul play but they said no and unless I showed them my paid receipt for the damaged part now my pool heater wouldn’t be covered anymore. They were rude, unethical and flat out liars !!! Buyers beware do not buy their products. They will rip you off and take advantage of you. I do not recommend this company

It is unclear if what the contractor said wasn't covered should have been covered by our plan. We paid out $390, so the warranty plan paid out nothing. The contractor did take care of our problem and came out on time. I am still on the fence as to whether I would recommend CHW's service.

My faucet hasn't been fixed over a month and it was approved. They assigned the same technician and he hasn't shown all 3 times. The tech would inform us he was coming and then wouldn't show and wouldn't answer his phone. I requested to speak to a supervisor form Choice and he informed me that they were going to reach out to the company and that it would take 48 hrs. It's been a week and I haven't heard anything from the supervisor. I called Choice back and they informed me I would have to pay another service fee for another technician even though the work order was approved by them. I requested to speak to a regional manager since the Supervisor didn't get back to me. It has been a bad experience since I started with Choice.

Choosing this company is a WRONG CHOICE! FRAUD - This company is a fraud!!! Read reviews on consumer affairs and other places. When things bring break (after warranty is effective) they try to claim it as a pre-existing condition! In my case their a/c contractor mis-diagnosed the problem (called it as refrigerant leak) and warranty declined it immediately. My policy was 28 days effective (in other words) 58 days since I bought policy. They declined to have a 2nd opinion and I ended up hiring my own, who diagnosed the problem as fan motor (NO LEAK), replaced parts and has been working since then!! Provided all the proof w/ diagnosis to them and they still declined their responsibility and take corrective actions. Considering they are trying to protect their contractor and screwing customers, I have decided to IMMEDIATELY cancel my warranty with them.

The customer service is horrible. I was set up with a case manager to review my case she didn't return any of my calls and when i finally got her it was about 3 weeks later. My stove is only 6 years old and they said it was cheaper to replace than to fix and they only offer me $338 in which she told me was not negotiable. They DO NOT REPLACE your appliances!!!! My dishwasher was also on the blink and they said the same thing. It had to be replace which may have been used no more than 10 times because I prefer to hand wash them. I was told the replacement value wholesale was only $217. It has been almost 2 months and I have not received a check for that as of yet. Nothing about this company seems to work for it's paying customers!!!!

Once the claim was made, the process went quick, the service tech was there the next day, which was a Friday. Very helpful and educated on the process. It was late in the evening so we had to wait until Monday for the claim to be sent to Choice Home Warranty.. Choice HW turned down the claim due to the unit supposedly being dirty although routinely maintained and filter changed. The tech was dealing w CHW prior to me on another claim that was also turned down for the same reason. It was reported by the H&A company that CHW haf actually paid for 1 out of 10 claims they have dealt with.. Which leads me to believe this is a generated letter that is used as an excuse to deny the claim. (The tech said my unit was clean the day he diagnosed it.) I paid the $85 up front. The claim is nowin the appeal process...if not covered I will be paying $715 out of pocket.

Quick to respond to a claim, but schedule all repair work through third party, never know the quality of the company that will service you. Also, if your appliance needs a repair, you will NOT be given money or replacement of equal value. Choice has national providers that will give you about 50% of what a replacement will cost you, based on their national vendor replacement value.

I feel once I have paid for the service the scrunity CHW made regarding what is or is not covered is absurd. I paid the $85.00 service the you challenged what is covered causing an additional $170.00 fee from your vender because they couldn’t attach a new cable to the old bracket forcing me to pay the before mentioned fees. I don’t know if this will continue to happen when I put a claim in but I am now very suspicious of the deal I bought into.

They talk a great game and how they cover so much at an affordable price. But when it comes time for repairs, they pick out not covered issues so they do not have to honor the agreement and fix or replace. Our ac unit is 19 years old and has leaked Freon for years and Choice has come out 4 times over the past few years to add Freon. But now the unit, which is the builder installed unit with a life span of 5-7 years, is beyond repair and needs replacing. Well of course Choice says it’s not covered because of corrosion caused due to the leaking Freon, which they knew about and never had a problem until it’s not fixable. So we are on the hook to purchase a new unit while choice just continued to take our monthly agreement money. So needless to say, we canceled them and have contacted the BBB for their false representation. Do not use Choice Home Warranty because they are a scam company with fraudulent practices.

Choice Home falsified the technician's report in order to deny my claim. The technician reported my unit was 16 years old and the unit was clean, no corrosion, and the problem was related to normal wear and tear. When I contested the judgment, the resolution department said they denied my claim because the unit was "only 6 years old and that the problem was NOT RELATED TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR". I am a senior citizen on social security and have lost complete faith in this company. When you have a problem they make it very difficult to get resolution. I spent hours on the telephone and was sent from department to department for resolution. The case manager that was assigned to my case, never kept the appointment that was assigned and never answered the phone! I am a retired nurse and I could never get away treating a patient the way I was treated by this company~ Buyer Beware!!

The turnaround times are usually pretty good with getting service. I think the quality of companies that do offer service aren't as good as they used to be. My last service man from Sassaman Services has been by far the best you have. The previous one, Jeff's Clog Busters is a joke and you shouldn't been using them.

I have been with CHW for over 4 years but hardly ever need to file a claim. I just filed a claim for my air unit that broke and needs to be replaced by the technician. Once assigned to a Case manager Joe L he immediately denied my claim saying that my unit wasn't maintenance without even asking me. After I contacted him he ask me for my maintenance invoice which I provided and he still denied my claim stating the unit needed to be maintained more which was unfair. When I asked for his manager he said I could not speak to his manager and his decision was final and no one could override his decision. I think it is not good to give one man that much power especially when it involves services that a customer pays for when one of their major systems break.

I called in for a repair appointment and I got scheduled 5 days later. I think this is poor service considering this is not what was described to me when I was being sold on this service. I then spent 4 hours waiting for a technician who never showed or called so I called him. He was running late and at a location 2 1/2 hrs away from my home. I checked my email a little while later and my appointment had been rescheduled for a 4 hr window later the same day. No phone call, no nothing. I waited almost 8 hrs and checked my email again only to find that my appoint had been rescheduled for the next day. This is horrible customer service. The technician showed up the next day and it was a quick appointment to resolve the issue. At this point in time, I plan to call and cancel this service because I can call a regular service technician if and when needed and it will cost a lot less.

For my dishwasher fix, Choice sent an awesome technician and I am glad he took this job. However, when it comes to fixing my A/C unit that has a leak in the coil, Choice Home Warranty has chosen to make the job incredibly difficult to be worked on. I am now going on 2 weeks with no A/C in 95+ degree weather and my house has stayed 85 degrees at night. Choice Home Warranty sent out three different A/C companies to take “another look” at my unit as all three stated my coil has a leak. Choice then sent my 3rd technician out another two times for different styles of proof that it was a coil leak. Choice finally approved the fix as the coil is free from the manufacturer warranty, but to finish it off has notified me that I will have to pay another $500 for the fix which is over half of the cost from the repair technician.

I am very disappointed with Choice Home Warranty. I signed a 6 year contract for the best plan because they were apparently #1. A year later when I file my 1st claim I find out they don't cover products that have developed rust/ corrosion. There is no way an A/C unit, washer, and water heater will not develop rust. Now I am being told I need to write a request to review the claim which will take even longer to potentially get my A/C repaired. My tenant is now without A/C in the Texas heat and I can't even tell her when or if it will be covered. This is terrible customer service. On top of all that I have yet to receive a call from Choice Home Warranty. I am only allowed to type back and forth with an automated system. Clearly this is not the service from a #1 company. I do not recommend them. I was also told I was not on the "rust" plan. I was never told there was a "rust" plan.

Worst customer service ever. Our A/C broke. I filed the claim online didn’t hear back from a technician until the next day. I already put the family in a hotel for the night which I was fine with the first night. The repair company set up an appointment for the next day. I had to keep the family in the hotel a second night. Which I wasn’t okay with. An hour before the appointment, the technician called and said his van broke down and he didn’t have any money to repair it today. (Makes me wonder who they contract). I called parjer ans Sons and they came out within two hours and fixed the system. Cost was almost $400. I called Choice for reimbursement and the rep was very rude. She told me “shush, i am talking” as I was trying to express my frustration with their service. She refused to reimburse me for the repair “because the responded within 24 hours”. Worst service ever. PS. Research Arizona Attorney General’ lawsuit against them. I wish I saw that before I paid for the contract.

I like having coverage, but items that frequently wear are generaly not 'covered'. Next, Contractors HATE having to call in to get approval before they complete a repair, due to they most often have a 20 minute wait. Most contractors in my area do not belong, [due to the wait time calling in], resulting in having to get contractor often, 30-60 minutes away. I am not in an isolated area! A problem with my AC, resulted in several service calls and contractors service. Problem was not fully corrected. I am responsible to pay for all, because a temporay fix lasted more than 30 days. UGH !!

The response time for all AC problem was quick and the technician and HVAC repair company have been excellent. However, I’ve had 2 plumbing issues arise. The 1st took several months before a plumber was found to address a clogged kitchen sink drain. The 2nd plumbing issue is unresolved after about 6 weeks.

CHW is a nice conduit for putting me in touch with who I need to do the job. Unfortunately though, upon identifying the problem, acquiring the necessary financial support for repairs &/or replacements is something CHW intends to drag out in hopes that the customer will eventually grow frustrated and pay for same out of pocket. There's a distinct difference between being involved vs. Committed to customers. CHW's, loyalty towards it's customers is questionable.

CHW was not able to find someone to repair waterheater but they gave me a choice to find someone my self after 3 weeks I did. I had to pay myself but after 30 days they reimbursed me. I was pleased.

This is the first experience I have had using my Choice Home Warranty. The service was great However my Aunt and Uncle had a disastrous experience with their claim for repair to their refrigerator. I had to get involved. Eventually the matter was resolved but not before I contacted the Better Business Bureau and filed a complaint with them.

Always have some excuse about parts being unavailable, since they are looking for the cheapest off brand part even if it's incompatible.

I been with CHW since April 2017 and had no real issues with minor things... but when my AC Compressor started going out, it was a new install Oct 2017, CHW denied my claim for a new compressor because they said since its so new it shouldn't be bad yet and therefor its not considered normal wear and tear! So yes the compressor is still under warranty and the technician has a new one coming but I must pay the $925 for labor and freon to get it installed since the claim has been denied... so why have a warranty for anything when they can claim it "shouldn't have gone bad and that's not normal wear and tear"??

Choice Home Warranty (CHW) sent Home Source Pros Garage to fix our garage door, the technician Gifford M adjusted the opener but it failed the very next day and damaged the door ($1500 to replace). Despite several phone calls to Mr. M, the owner of the business and appointments, they never came back to us and wanted us to commit to doing a conversion and spend hundreds of dollars with them. Choice Home Warranty (CHW) did not help cover any of the expenses and suggested that we file a claim with Home Source Pros Business Liability Insurance. And by the way CHW is still using Home Source Pros Garage as their subcontractor and will not stop using them despite my complaints.
