Filing a claim online in easy; however, we were to hear something back in 24 hours. 72 hours later, still no update. We had to call for updates. Reimbursement was offered but we're new to the area so we did not know an a/c contractor.

What a frustrating experience when original was cancelled but still showed and couldn't do the work d/t not being assigned and he wasn't informed he had been cancelled...Then given another week to wait ..we could have just done it on our own without the waiting and having increased power bill from AC unit not working right with 2 week delay as well as poor cool ing problem. The 2nd person assigned said not even heard of Choice/ was not a vendor for them....crazy!!! The 3rd person that came was great yet no benefit from CHW as problem not meeting requirements..

My washer was down from 6/15 till today 6/25, till today there is no clue on the ETA when it will be fixed. they say they want to get an update from the technician. I created the case on 6/15, the technician visits us on 6/16, he recommends it is tough to fix and hard to get the parts. he explained that the ideal situation is to replace the washer and he sends the pictures to CHW. CHW comes back and says to fix the repair and not to replace the washer. that is fine but they approved the repair to the technician on 6/21. to make the approval it took 5 days. after that it 5 days still didn't get any update. Considering the situation I proposed a solution they didn't buy in the situation, they focus only on their profit. I am a customer of them for more than 3 years.

My experience is awful. I purchased a warranty with "unlimited replacement" in the event that the appliance could not be repaired. This did not turn out to be the case. I recently had 2 appliances (washer and dish washer) that could not be repaired. Choice offered me between 1/3 and 1/2 of the cost to replace the washer via an egift card from Lowes that would not be sent by email for 30 days. I appealed the amount, the case manager added an additional amount but it was less than half of what it cost me to replace the washer with a system with like capabilities. They did approve payment in the form of a check. The dishwasher is still not resolved, the case manager did not send me contact information with 24 hours, did not respond to numerous voice mails, email messages form customer service or another case manager. A new case manager was assigned and I did receive a call 2 days later. I have left several message for him and have yet to hear back. The offer on the dishwasher is currently less that half of the replacement cost. This policy is a joke. I was lied to when I purchased it and Choice does not live up to the language in the contract " We are responsible for installing replacement equipment of similar features, capacity and efficiency, but not for matching dimensions, brand or color". Less than half of the appliance cost is provided, no delivery, installation or old appliance hall away is included. I plan to go to the BBB, Angies list and as many consumer review sources as I can find to let others know that Choice is not honest and does not live up to the contract terms. Very disappointing.

I don’t feel I was not treated fairly with the replacement cost for my washer machine I went to Lowe’s as suggested but they didn’t have any washers compariable to what I have in the. Price range of I talked with Helen in claims who was not helpful Later I talked with another claim person and she was more helpful and seemed to understand my problem. She put in for someone in review area and said I would hers from them by email and their contact information will be in the email

Sometimes the money that they give you is in a gift card and it doesn't usually cover the whole cost of even a basic appliance. Overall I feel we are happy overall but there are areas for improvement.

I have a home warranty with Choice Home Warranty. On 01/18/2022 I filed a claim because my furnace was not working. The claim was filed early morning. At 11:30 a technician came to my property and diagnosed the issue. The induction motor had failed and needed to be replaced. They contacted Choice Home Warranty. Choice Home Warranty Denied the claim. They indicated that the failure was due to water damage. I contacted the technician. They informed me that there were no indications of water damage and that wasn't the cause of the failure. They contacted Choice Home Warranty, and Choice said their determination to deny the claim was made and they weren't going to change. I contacted Choice Home Warranty to reiterate that their determination was incorrect. They told me there was nothing that they could do at the time. I would need to file an appeal. I filed the appeal. I was told they had 24 hours to assign a case manager. I contacted them today several times but was told they could not transfer me to a case manager, that I had to wait until the case manager contacts me. I have no heat in my home. The low tonight is 10 degrees F and 5 degrees F tomorrow. My pipes are going to freeze and I'm going to suffer major property damage because of Choice Home Warranty's inaccurate declination of my claim. I tried to contact a plumber to winterize my home but they are all booked up as well. I am going to try and do it myself, but I've never done it before, and don't know if I'm able to do it as thoroughly as a profession. This is an emergency situation and after multiple attempts contacting Choice Home Warranty, they keep informing me that there's nothing they can do. I simply have to wait for a Case Manager to contact me. I don't have time for that, this is an emergency situation.

Liars, cheaters and thieves. The vendors they send are those "white truck" guys with no credentials, no website, and no ethics. The first time I used the warranty was to repair my ice maker. It took 3 appointments to find a vendor...."a white truck guy". He was shady, but he fixed it, and low an behold the first batch of ice comes out and one of the cubes has a screw in it!! No kidding! The second time I used the warranty was to get a plumber to fix my hot water heater. I called in Feb. of 2021 and it took until April to get someone out. And he was another no-name white truck guy. Choice denied my claim because the heater had "sediment" and that meant it was not maintained properly. Really? If that's the measure, than no one qualifies to get a water heater replaced under this warranty. So I had to argue with a "manager" and they paid for the labor and I bought the hot water heat. Whatever! When the plumber came he had a "helper" with him to install the heater; a kid who just turned 18 with not an ounce of sense. The proceeded to put their dirty hands all over the walls going up my stairs. When they took the old heater down, the "kid" tried to do it himself, didn't wrap it or anything and dirty, rusty water came pouring out and all over my wool carpet! Oh, and did I mention the plumber arrived at 8pm and was in my house until 11:30pm!! Then I had to fight with plumber to get a carpet cleaner out to fix my carpet. I still have hand prints on the walls. Now, I have a fan motor out on my A/C unit, of course on a Saturday. The "white truck guy" showed up at 5:30 on Monday, took pics and said he would submit the info to warranty company for repair. Everyone has to get authorization...of course (eye roll). Well, it's Wednesday and the repair has has sent nothing to Choice. Now I'm the one who has to bug the repair man. I'm the one who has to call Choice and get them to help me get this fixed in a timely manner. What is infuriating is Choice has no rules for how theses yawhoo's operate. They can take as long as they want to get the diagnosis to Choice...they have no obligation to expediate your service. The repair companies have no time frame or time limits set by Choice to complete a job. It's solely up to the repairman when they person wants to work on your issue. This is one of the plethora of problems with Choice, they take no responsibility. Choice is happy take your money, but when you can't get something fixed, or taken care of in a timely manner, like having your A/C not working in Houston, Texas in June, they throw their hands in the air and say it's not out fault. Their favorite line is, these repair people don't "work for us". Well, I call BS on that. Choice is supposed to provide a service...here's what their website says, "We believe Choice Home Warranties are the most comprehensive, flexible and value-priced on the market. We do everything we can to help you get back on track - that's the difference." So Choice, really??? Everything? How do they have the never to print that. It's such a bald face lie. The smartest thing a homeowner can do is put that money you would pay to Choice in a savings account and build a repair nest egg that draws interest. If and when a repair comes, you're ready for it. You don't have to put up with "white truck guys" who show up after office hours because they are servicing their direct customers first and do the warranty jobs last...because they pay less. I have another entire story about a conversation I had with a Choice "manager" about getting a refund on my unused warranty. Basically, you can't! But her logic for who her math worked and why I can't get any money back was hysterically mind-boggling and sad at the same time. Keep your money in your pocket. Don't do this...EVER! You're welcome.

My experience will this company has not been a very pleasant one. They are hard to contact by phone and if you don't answer when they call you back there will be no other correspondence. My new unit was installed two weeks ago and now I am have problem with water leaking from it. I am told that they do not cover this problem. I am really feed up with this company.

It took 6 days for CHW to give the OK to replace my water heater. It seemed that the only time I got a response or had any progress was when I emailed them and complained or threatened to cancel our policy! I hope that this was just an anomaly instead of the norm!

I am somewhat disappointed with this Program. I have been with you for almost 2 years. The truth is if it’s easy then you pay $85 but if it’s more complicated there’s a lot of fine print. And if I had known that going into it I probably wouldn’t of signed up. It’s sneaky and deceptive. My microwave shorted out and I get this thing back saying you’ll approve a fuse but you won’t fix the handle or replace it if it doesn’t work which is what you promised you’ve got an escape clause for everything .

Please be careful before trusting this company. We have an air conditioner that lasted 19 years (the normal lifespan is 10 years for this unit). We have it serviced regularly. The company that does the servicing and cleaning said it just died of old age but lasted far longer than normal. The venting system on this unit has the compressor almost touching a small part of the cooling vent area. The Company that we use said not to try to clean this area because it was less than 10 percent of the ribbing and that trying to get between would very likely cause more damage than good. They told us that that small area would have little or no effect on the overall performance if the over 90% of the cooling ribs that were accessible were maintained and kept clean. The tech told us that since the unit performed fine for 19 years that it confirmed that the vents were not the issue. Choice Home Warranty said they would not pay for any repairs because that area was not cleaned. I spoke with a Case Manager and was told even though that was about 6% of the venting area, and the unit had performed almost twice what it normally does that since that was part of the reason the unit finally failed they would not pay any part of the repair. This company may pay for small repairs, but is clear that when it comes to large ones they will say whatever is needed to deny payment.

My oven went out and could not be repaired because since the model & serial numbers were rubbed off the label, parts could not be ordered. Therefore CHW offered to replace my range by offering me a $660 Lowe's gift certificate to replace a $1200 range. Very inadequate amount and it's not even cash and it's only usable at Lowe's. Still waiting to receive that insufficient certificate which they said would come within 30 days. Long time to be without an oven. Not a good deal at all.

Reported problem on 06/13 ,requested to speak to a live agent but no response. Technician arrived 06/15 informed him that the unit was blowing hot air and that the fan blower would not come on all the time. Fan blower was on when he got here he said he Choice wouldn't replace until it went out completely.He did add something to unit that made it cooler. Less than 24 hours fan blower not working.It may come on when we use but then there's a delayed reaction on the fan coming on,but on 06/16 when it went off it wouldn't come on after several attempts. Now we are sitting in temperatures of close to 100 degree heat till the tech can return on 06/19. .

I initially had a good run with Choice but when it really counted they let me down. I had an old A/C unit that had clearly been struggling for a long time. The technician came out and did his analysis and submitted the issues that he identified to include an overheated an overworked system due to not keeping up with demand. He also included pictures. Choice Home Warranty then denied my request based off of the pictures claiming that I had not maintained my system properly. I'll be out lots of money now replacing my A/C on my own. Very disappointed customer.

Everything sounded great but fast talking salesman, J L, didn't like it when I wanted to research company and everthing he was saying. When conversation didn't go his way he just talked faster and louder and wouldn't let me talk and when he realized he wasn't going to bully me into giving him $1485.00 today. I told him I didn't like what he was doing and cancel all transactions. When I told him I would dispute any charge he tried sneaking thru on my credit he simply hung up on me. I certainly hope all sales reps aren't trained like this, it is not a good representation of any company. He has already submitted a charge and trust me it will be disputed as soon as it is posted to my account, Now I feel like I was tricked even if it is a reputable company your phone sales rep are not!

It takes too long to get someone out to have it looked at and it’s almost impossible to get someone on the phone. In another words it’s a lot of work to get something that you pay for IE: the warranty : in Another words if you can wait atleast a week for things to be just looked and NOT REPAIRED then this is perfect. I however do not want a water leak running for a week before it can be looked at .

Everything is fine except a small sentence in the contract that says they may offer cash as a replacement for an appliance less than retail cost. I got $240 to replace my dishwasher. A comparable unit costs around $500. If you sign up with these people negotiate that clause out of the contract.

So far I’ve had 3 experiences with CHW. The first was for my refrigerator and ice maker that you said was under warranty and you refused to fix. The ice maker was not under warranty after I made some phone calls. The second was for my refrigerator evaporator coil that was never repaired after waiting for over 6 weeks . This was not CHW fault since I never complained to them instead I believed what the technician kept telling me. My sons finally gave up waiting and they bought me a new refrigerator . This time it was my A/C and now your saying you aren’t responsible for repairing the coil. It seems that you have one BS excuse after another if it’s a high end repair. I will be reavaluating whether to continue with HCW.

Initially everything seemed okay, after two service calls the Home Choice review department became EXTREMELY pedantic on what they interpreted to be covered items. On 06/04/2021 I had to submit a service request for an exterior faucet leak. Home choice approved the request and dispatched a tech after 3 days. The vendor wrote up a description to submit as part of SOP for repair, and home choice replied that the request would be under review after all. Mind you I have taken off work to meet the tech at my house on this day. I called Home Choice to find out what was going on and was told I should just wait as their “review” could take up to 4 hours. So They approve, I take off work, they communicate to the tech (they initially approved) to do no work while they “review” for up to 4 hours, and of course I have an ongoing leak for which I had to turn water off to my home as all this fiasco is going on. Obviously I was not pleased with the response and I requested to speak with a supervisor. “Ok, one will respond to you within 24 hours...”. Seriously, that is verbatim what I was told. I ultimately just told the repairmen to perform the needed repair and I would pets pay the expense. Home Choice finally got done with their “review” circa 5 hours later, and denied the claim. I can deal with a rejected claim per the contract terms, but to initially approve and then waste both I and the tech’s time and tell me it could take up to 4 hours with no explanation when I have taken off work is just unreasonable and terrible, terrible customer service. Don’t even get me started on the “a supervisor can return your call after 24 hours line”. It was just awful. I seriously regret purchasing a contract and am contemplating canceling and seeking a pro rata refund. My customer review is that you would be better off saving your money and time and not buying a contract from this company.

The technician that was at our home was great , but Choice Home warranty in general are not, and I am totally unsatisfied by their terms and services. 1. Although the service fee for a technician is lower than most other warranties , their coverage is horrible , and they always look for a way how not to cover the service. it turns out that for each service , apart from appliances , they have limit of $500 a year , which is a joke , as usually you reach that limit on the 2nd service... . I had a problem with my shower , and they sent someone to fix it . After less than 2 months , the fix was broken again. When I opened another ticket to fix it , they told me ( after the technician came not before ... ) that I am over the limit for plumbing, so they did not want to cover it. 2. Although the technician told me that the current problem is because of the fix they did ( the valve they installed does not do the work ) , since it was over 30 days , they would not cover it. I expect them to stand behind what they do , and not look for ways not pay... 3. If CHW doesn't cover a service or if I reached my above limit , I expect to be notified BEFORE the technician comes , but not with CHW.... They did send the technician , I paid him the service fee (again ) , and then he contacted them and they declined it, as it was over the $500 ridiculous amount they cover... 3. When I signed for 3 years plan ( they push to do that , and I am OK with that ) , they through in additional 6 month free . Sounds good , correct ? well not so much ... since now the $500 a year is for 14 months , not 12 . What they did is took the 6 free months, and divided them to the 3 years of warranty , and now I have to wait 14 month for the counter to get to zero again , instead of 12 month, so what did the extra free 6 months help me ??? 4. It is very hard to reach the customer service by phone , and yes , I know it is Covid time and they have a lot of calls , but this is not an excuse ! Obviously we all use other services of external contractors/vendors, and in 99% of the cases , you still get a reasonable service if you try to reach services you are entitled to ( like my cables company , my cellphone provider , our Walgreens pharmacy , etc. ) Bottom line - I did have other home warranty vendors in the past ,and Yes they charged more sometimes , but the the coverage and the services by CHW simply sucks!! ( the contractors they send are OK most of the time ) , and you never know what kind of a reason they will find now , not to pay for the fix .

I have had Choice Home Warranty since 2018 and put in a claim on May 25, 2021, and they assigned vendor DJB Design to my claim. The contractor came to my home at 8:00 pm on May 27, 2021. He stated that he was going to come back first thing Friday morning to check to see if the air conditioner is working properly. Well, the contractor never came back to check on the air conditioner. I have called as well as text this contractor he says that he will be at my home at a certain time he never came or call to say that he is or not coming. I called Choice Home Warranty and the customer service made me feel like it was my fault why the contractor has not shown up. Every time I contact CHW they refused to accommodate me as a customer for that reason I will be canceling my contract with CHW.

There is no urgency when it come to the more important things that are needs. It was not a dishwasher or a fridge that was not working it was a hot water heater. Something we have to have with a family of 4. It was very disappointing how this process was handled. We still have not had our service completed so we will see if this process gets worse before it gets better.

This company has terrible practices because they do not cover the warranty of the house that should be covered as the homeowner is entitled. An example is an essential garage spring that broke in my home, originally from when it was built 22  years ago. They said they do not cover it because they do not match the same color.  The technician that came to my house assured me that they would cover it because it has an average year of usage and reached the number of openings. The company is looking for excuses not to cover the warranty, and  I paid a lot of money that my house is covered but not. I cannot trust all these companies. Please beware, it is the business practice to deny for any reason to enrich themselves.

My argument on your refusal to accept my air conditioner claim is your advertisements for making promises and then denying claims. Or as stated in the Attorney General of Arizona’s case against you, “for allegedly making false promises to consumers who purchased a home warranty policy. The lawsuit alleges Choice Home Warranty collected millions from Arizona consumers, but used contract exclusions, payment caps, and bad-faith refusals to avoid paying for repairs.” Our claim was sent on May 28, 2021. You did let us know on May 29, 2021 that Grace Heating and Air would respond on June 1, 2021 (on the fifth day). We are now on our 6th day with no air in Savannah, GA and no solution in sight. The technician has let us know that we need a new air conditioner both inside and outside. DO NOT BUY THIS!

Awful company, buyer beware, hidden limits buried in the contract. They will tell you anything to get the sale but it is a bunch of bull. Cannot understand customer service staff located in South America! They are all like robots. I talked to an escalation manager who told me she does not have a boss, can you imagine a manager in a company with no boss? I asked her to restate that and she said yes, she has no boss she reports to. If she’s so empowered why didn’t she fix my situation? Choice Home is just as bad, if not worse than the others, they have no agreements with local people to come out even for a service call and diagnosis. I loathe this scam of a company, should be investigated for fraud

Very disappointed that you did not cover at least a portion of my upcoming service for my AC. I had been satisfied up until now, but I would not recommend this company again. American Home Shield at least covered a portion of the replacement of my outside condensing unit; I don't understand the difference. I certainly would not expect you to cover the entire cost, but some relief would have been nice. I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in the way this was handled financially. Nothing but slam, bam, you owe $4200, plus the $85 service call.

Usually the service provided was prompt and efficient - not this-time! I requested service , was notified they were having difficulty obtaining such service - no problem! Then they offered to let me procure my own service and then be reimbursed - good idea —) however ! The process for reimbursement is so convoluted that no servicing repairman can do it in a timely fashion!! Needing the repair, I authorized the work and am now out @$200 ! I’m no contemplating dropping my coverage and going with a new company - I’ve been with you for many years!! Not a happy customer!!!!!!!!😖😖😖😖😖😖
