I put in a claim in July and the problem has still not been fixed. I have call three times to have it completed and no body has called or followed up on the problem. Now the leak under the sink has ruined the cabinet and some of the flooring plus the carpet due to the leak goin on for a month now. concern about a mold problem?. Need some attention ASAP!!! The second person charged me extra money.$84.00 not the $65,00 like you told me to pay them when he arrives. Labor charge?? When I called to check in on the claim I was told that the company would call me within 24 hours and set up a date to fix the problem. Still have had no call. Terrible service!! Not happy at all. PLEASE fix this problem asap!!

I would never recommend Choice home warranty to anyone. I have had 2 occasions where my AC quit working I filed a claim and after about 3 weeks of waiting for a technician they allowed me to hire my own tech. He came out the sMe day and fixed the AC. I suited the cost and after. Month I received a reimbursement check. The 2nd occurance was another issue with.my AC I filed a claim al.ost a week ago and so far Noone hS been scheduled. It's over 100deg outside. I asked if I could hire my own tech and they told me "no, they only allow that once per year" they say I have to wait until they schedule a tech themselves. They have told.me this every day since but stllno technician. I havr young kids that can't sleep because it is so hot. So how long do I have to wait? Until winter when I no longer need AC? Very very poor service and could care less about thier customers. Do not use them Dave Weaver

I originally called to get an appointment arrangement for an appliance company to come look at my refrigerator and never got a call back from Choice Warranty. So I called an appliance company myself to get my refrigerator looked at. I did have an email from choice warranty to complete the reimbursement process but it timed out on me and I called a few days ago to start the process for the reimbursement on the parts and labor when Kimball Appliance came and fixed my refrigerator.

Unfortunately, we had to cancel with the tech that you provided because we had to provide our own tech to fix the pool pump. I called the work order in on August 18 and was not provided an assigned tech until August 24 who still couldn’t come out until August 29. That is 11 days. No where close to the 24 to 48 hour turn around which is in the contract. I live in Texas and we have had tremendously hot weather this summer which is causing pool pumps to over heat. If I would of waited until CHOICE was able to provide a tech, my $50,000 pool would of probably ended up costing me some $$$$ to get it in balance again. I requested the “Reimbursement” method but was declined because I have already used it. I feel if you can not provide the service within the time allotted, regardless of how many times reimbursement is requested, that option should always be available if “Choice” is at fault meaning unable to fulfill their part of the contract in a timely manner. I fulfilled my part of the contract when I paid for your services in full for multiple years. I also requested a call back from management 2 times and never heard from anyone. I’ve been a customer for many years and have referred several friends & family. My contract is up next year and this incident makes me second guess my choice in Home Warranties. If you value your customers, you may want to reach out and discuss any issues that occur. Have a blessed day and stay safe.

Although I had good luck with Pro Price H&C, Choice does not rate the stars because they are hard to deal with, you call and talk with a Rep you have to leave a number and they call back. Maybe in an hour maybe longer, then it's some third world party you can hardly understand and you can hard lee get a good follow up.

I wasn't happy that when my AC went down it took 3 days to get a technician out to our house. On the positive side the technician that came was awesome. He had to come back a second time to replace the actual motor. I also don't like CHW doesn't provide 24/7 customer service where you can actually speak to a live person.

your company is a joke! so far the plumber had to come out 2 times still screwed up the job the shower still does not send all water to shower & got in tub with his dirty boots and left stains in tub. The toilet is not flushing all waste out of toilet due to him cutting off 3/4" off flow tube does not fill to fill line, refused to clear drain which was part of claim. Called 3 times and was hung up on and co. did not ever reset up plumber to fix problem. Microwave first adv un-repairable paid him, CHW then sent Sears out to service microwave & wanted his fee and he did nothing then CHW only will pay $191.00 for new one which you can't get for that price & will take 30 days to get ck, bought new one but they will not install. 3rd claim bad wire from circuit box running to shed with pool equipment state they will not pay for new wire to be pulled to do this repair I even offered to do all prep of digging the trench they still said NO they said I would have to buy additional coverage and it may or may no cover that. So here I sit with the toilet, microwave, my power box circuit still messed up with NO SATISFACTION IN SIGHT!!!! But they are quick to take your money!

I had an issue with my range oven. They sent out a technician to check it out. I gladly paid the $75 service charge. This was in July. I contacted them every two weeks about the status and each time I got the run around that they didn't have the notification from the technician that the part was not replaceable. When I got the notification warranty it was supposedly replaced the repair or replace the unit. I finally told them in November, I would not make another monthly payment. I was without an oven for approximately 5 months. I would not recommend this warranty service to anyone. They will not give you good service.

No I would not recommend this awful company. I have been trying to get my pool heater fixed for 3 years. They were unable to find an installer for the first 1 1/2 and then when they did, the installer either didn’t show up or the company did not want to pay them so they would not do the work. I decided on doing the reimbursement. I found my own installer and after submitting the estimate, they did not approve the request. So I appealed it and they told me that they spoke to my installer and he said it was fixed already and that I paid him. I talked to 3 different people, I told them it was never fixed, I didn’t pay anyone and I still have a broken pool heater. They did not want to hear it. I have pictures of my pool heater (Still broken). I spoke to my installer, he told me he never said that it was fixed. He told them that he would be the one fixing it and that I would be paying him and getting reimbursed. I requested a copy of the conversation, which their replay was we can not give it to you. So now I am out a pool heater and will not be reimbursed for it. This company will try everything not to pay for a service. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. THEYHAVE OUTSTANDING LAWSUITS AGAINST THEM. I WILL ALSO BE FILING A LAW SUIT.

It was quick the technician came with the fee! I did not have to ask around all of my neighbors to find the best person - it was very easy to make a claim request, to have a person come to our house almost the next day. We bought a new garage door opener for the market price, but he installed it on the site. The Choice Home Warranty offer was not actually reflected. If Choice Home Warranty offered the differences of the replacement, it would have been fair. Can you make it happen? Please contact us.

They mislead people when they are selling their warranty. I did not read the small print when I purchased the warranty and the salesperson did not mention the fact that when a major appliance fails the do not give you the full replacement value. My dishwasher went out and they said they would replace it. In 2017 when I purchased my current dishwasher it cost $441.00 Now chw is going to give me $246.00 to replace it. I cannot replace it for that kind of money. I talked to someone in they complaint depart and they said they would mail me a check I have not seen one yet. The reason for mailing me a check is because I am 89 yrs old and don have an I phone and I talked to some on 8 11 23 about this. do not know how to use the e check.

CHW is the WORST warranty company I have ever dealt with. They will do ANYTHING to avoid paying a claim. In January 2020 I reported that my water heater would not stay on. Thanks to Glendalys A, it took over 6 months to replace the blower motor. (During this time, I broke my foot going down to restart the water heater.) 5 different plumbers have said my water heater needs to be replaced. Denied. CHW insists that there is a leak in the tank. There is NOT and there has never been. They argue that their expert tech said there is. Prove it!! It is a failing PRV valve. A case manager, Aaron S, falsified a diagnosis to avoid paying a claim to repair a noisy shower valve. (It was water hammer). Their strategy is to delay until you tell them to forget it. I believe they are compensated for denying claims. I Would like to contact the CEO, but that seems to be impossible. I was told that he was different, but evidently it is business as usual. I could not rate them below 0 - or I definitely would. CHW offers an incentive if you get someone else to sign up. NEVER!! I warn everyone that asks not to choose CHW!!! I am an elderly woman dealing with cancer and a deformed foot and do not appreciate the way I have been treated. I wonder if they will even see this review. Is this how they would want their own mother to be treated? I even caught Covid from the washer repairman from A&E. Nice guy, just had a contagious cough and no mask. Hope you can understand my frustration. Thank you.

Choice selects the repairman to check appliance in question. Be aware that you will be charged twice, once for each appliance during the same visit/appointment! A determination was made that one of the appliances needed to be replaced. I accepted the offer Choice made. I’ve looked at washers but can not make a purchase until they release a coupon to be used exclusively at Loews. Loews will not accept a deposit. So now, three weeks without a washer in this horribly, hot summer I have been rinsing clothes by hand! They assign a customer relations supervisor to oversee the process. The one I had never returned calls or emails sent to her special email. So here I wait, so if you are a very, very patient customer go ahead a sign up.

I turned in my AC for not working properly the blower motor was running really slow most of the time. The thermostat was set at 78 degrees and it was about 100 degrees outside. One day it stopped about 10 days after I turned it it. The compressor stopped working. They added 1 pound of freon and 4 days later it stopped again because the blower motor was bad. I’m waiting for the repair company to send me the repair estimate to turn it into you. Due to the nature of the situation I had it repaired and paid for it all. I hope you will reimburse me for all work minus my $65.00 fee. I was never given a repair company which I find unacceptable from a company with high ratings you have on social media. You can call me if you wish to discuss this further.

The home warranty can help with unexpected repairs, but the availability of technicians has been an issue. I went 6 weeks for resolution of an AC Unit that needed repairs, and this was NOT due to parts availability. Also took over 3 weeks to get a washer repair completed. Both of these required several calls to customer support and both required the assignment of a second repair company. I did have one quick repair on my Pool Pump.

I contacted choice warranty about getting a plumber assigned. On 7/4/2023. I have nothing but a headache from this company. All I get is the run around. I need a new water heater and was told by a plumber that I payed for to come out to see what was wrong, I was told I needed new water heater, I Evan upload the paperwork. The total installation was $2006.00 dollars. Choice approved for only $630.00. I was told this is there approved price and that was all they would cover. I am now wait on there technician to come out with no luck or response. This Company has poor customer service. I would not recommend this company. Don't waste your money or time with this company. Had to go with the reimbursement and was deceived that Choice would make good yet after what I thought were correct instructions which turned out not to be very clear as to what CHOICE expected. NO Phone call to help their customer just a BS response each time I sent or requested information. I spent excessive time and effort running down a repair company to even come to my house to fix the problem. Following the documentation I forwarded to Choice and after weeks of trying to get an answer I finally get Gary on the phone who tells me I did not sent the information to the reimbursement office and sent I had the work completed before an authorization was issued they could not reimburse me for the $699.00 garage door opener. This had been going on for a month and a half with not one single call back from their customer service. After that I cancelled my policy immediately. This is not the company they make out they are. I am going to YELP them to hopefully save others from the mistake I had to pay for.

It was difficult to contact them for a very basic claim. Then it took almost a week for them to get a service provider out. And once that happened, they refused to cover what they were obligated to and have not returned my contacts asking for more information about why that part of the claim was denied. We will be using another company when it is time to renew our home warranty.

It is not because of your process. I have been denied another claim with another sorry excuse. cant do water hydrant because its OUTSIDE but its on my house connected to my house plumbing. But the AC unit OUTSIDE and you service that. Then on top of that you telling me you charging me for a policy on a house for six months that I didn't own yet. My realtor called you in May? So what, we didn't close on the house until November, six months later. You put it on hold? No one asked you to do that especially if you retro the start of the policy. So your solution is charge me for a policy on a house that I am not living in yet. That is not doing my any favors. Your are stealing from me!

Terrible experience over and over. They are inexpensive but you get what you pay for, nothing. Every claim I’ve had has not been fixed in one visit, so I repeatedly have to pay the co-pay. For example, the dishwasher wasn’t working took them for visits in two months to try to fix it for which I paid $300, and they ended up having to replace it and gave me $300 to replace it. I have numerous examples of this kind of stuff. Then I tried to cancel, and no matter what I told the man on the phone he acted like you couldn’t hear me and just kept saying they would make it better. I can’t wait for the nightmare to be over.

Had slow drain in the shower and in the sink in the master bathroom of one of rentals. The one van company that came to look at it used a cloths hanger to get the shower draining better. He took the trap off the sink and said that it needed to be hydro blasted. Not once did he use a snake. He told Choice that he tried to snake the drain and it needed to be hydro blasted. And the claim was denied. So, I went to the rental and replaced the trap ($4) and used a long screwdriver to clean the pipe in the wall. Got the drain to work. I tried to appeal the case and a case manager was assigned. I never heard from her and when I called got another person. I told her that the plumber had not used a snake on the drain like he told them. I told her what I did and got it to drain and still wanted to have the plumber come and snake both drains like he should of. She said that it is draining now and doesn't need to be snaked. Could not get anywhere with her. She closed the claim. Not the first time I have to fight over getting something fixed. Claim 209076811.

My air conditioner has been out for over three weeks now. The contractor has been great. It's the communication between Choice Home Warranty and your suppliers and the contractor that is in need of help. You tell me and the contractor that the unit is available for pick up yet when you call to ask the supplier says it's in transit and will be delivered and no need to pick up. Not to mention the amount of out of pocket I have to pay. $600 for coils, then another $3,000 when the contractor installs it. When I called Choice to see what I was paying for they were rude and didn't like that I was questioning what my costs were. I never got an answer on what Choice actually paid for! As for the contractor he has done an excellent job in keeping me up to date on what was happening.

I recently had my air conditioner unit go down. I called home choice warranty, they sent the Tech out. They fixed it 5 days later it broke again. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. My house was a 100° trying to get in contact with the Tech they sent to me was horrible, customer service was horrible. The Tech basically told me if you don't like it go to another Tech I call choice home warranty. Told them everything that happened and basically all she could say was, I'm sorry to hear that.these home warranty companies are hiring are horrible. I don't know if they're certified, but they're not fixing, and they're getting paid for it. I had to call another certified company and pay for a whole new air condition unit. Which cost me a lot of money? Which lets me realize that choice. Home warranty is a waste of money. Because they did nothing to help me.

I haven’t received anything. It was approved on June 7th. Also, I never received an invoice for the work done on June 7th. Also the June 8th invoice said that the motor was repairable, but Juan said it was burned out, and not repairable. He stated that I wanted to pay out of pocket, and not wait for the part. From the time we contacted choice warranty it took two weeks to get a technician out to look at the problem, because the first one refused to even take the job. When we finally did get some good techs out, we were told that choice would not cover the issue even though we have the Total plan and we ended up having to pay $925 out of pocket for repairs along with an $85 service fee for no service. We have yet to receive any sort of email correspondence explaining why the services weren’t covered. We would’ve been better off just calling the plumber directly since we had to pay out of pocket anyway. At least the job would’ve got done sooner. Not happy at all with the first time using the service.

They are horrible. Run from these people. I bought the warranty including A/C specifically as I have a couple older rental units and suspected future maintenance wouldn’t be far down the road. Their customer service assured me that would not be a problem and I could rely on them. In the second year, on A/C unit failed. They sent out a technician after 48 hours in 110F heat and after a week they denied the claim and would not return any phone calls. I just replaced the entire unit at my own expense. The $2,700 I spent for the extended coverage on two units will be just an expensive lesson to be learned about home warranties.

This company should be renamed the No-Choice Company. Despite negative comments on Next Door about the denial of claims I took a chance. To my detriment. My washer died and they wouldn't replace it. According to section 5 in the contract, they weren't liable. So how is it determined that an appliance broke down? The technician tried to get them to understand that the machine was not abused and that we had absolutely no way to know something was wrong, much less prevent it. I guess that really doesn't matter. I wasted hard-earned money on this companies worthless warranty. I'm switching to a reputable company.

I am still dealing with a broken icemaker from over a month ago. Every time I call Choice Home Warranty I get nowhere. The second repair tech sent by Choice Home Warranty required me to unplug my fridge for 3 days, as required by CHW, and then plug it back in. This resulted in the uncompensated loss of over $1,000. worth of food. After raising 7 kinds of hell I finally got a knowledgeable Sears repairman to check out the icemaker on the 14th. He ordered a replacement icemaker and couldn't understand why this was not approved sooner. The unnecessary run around and uncompensated food loss by CHW is disgraceful.

This is going to be a long review, but I felt I needed to get this out so people see what a horrible company this is. My AC stopped working. Choice Home Warranty sent their own vendor (Platinum Repair Inc) to look at it. They said it’s probably leaking and will have to test it, which will take a few days. However it took more than a week and we were without AC in summer heat. Finally, after many back and forth and no show appointments, they said the Condenser is leaking and there is a problem with the Coil, which are not repairable and need to be replaced. I got an estimate of $3,895 from Platinum Repair. When I called to find out why it’s so high, they said that there are certain parts that the warranty company does not cover. I asked Choice Home Warranty if I can use my own vendor. They said “No, you have to go with our vendor”, which was strange that I have to agree to and pay whatever they say. I decided to have my vendor check it and turns out it’s the compressor that failed and it would cost me $1,300 to fix it. When I told Choice Warranty, they said they can not do anything about it since they sent out their own and I needed to get an authorization to have someone look at it. I asked if they can pay some of it ($500), but they said “No”. It's obvious that Choice and Platinum work together to make money from customers. I ended up paying $1,300 out of my pocket and got the AC unit fixed and is working perfectly fine now. What is the point of having a Home Warranty if they can’t help you at the time when you most need them and they cheat you and try to get out of paying for anything. Definitely will not use them nor will I refer them to anyone else.

The technician was great. But just putting Freon in it’s not solving the problem. The unit really needs replacement but your company didn’t approve that. How many times will I need it repaired before you help with the replacement of the air conditioning?

I have been absolutely pleased with Choice. We have had a policy with them since we purchased our home in 2021. We have saved literally thousands of dollars!

I found that a 48 hour Choice Warranty window to provide repair service of our refrigerator was just a guess. The actual time it took to get a scheduled service provider was going to be EIGHT DAYS. Its hard to believe that is only one service provider (implied) to handle this type of repair work in the Phoenix area. WHAT A COSTLY DISAPPOINTMENT THIS TURNED OUT TO BE. Unfortunately the day the service rep came over the power was out and we had to wait another 8 days for an appointment. This was extremely costly to us given the food we had to throw away (around $250.00-300.00) and the cost of ice (around $200.00). Given this out of pocket cost plus the $75 service fee the overall cost to us exceeded the annual fee for our contract.

I purchased a 6 year prepaid plan from Choice. Their sales pitch was excellent. They offered guaranteed rate for the 6 years, lower service call charge plus they emphasized that I could cancel at any time and receive 100% of my unused premium back. All true, but they left out one very important thing. Aside from the above they will also reduce your payout by recouping all expenses they have incurred for repairs made prior to cancellation. The end result is the same as if you had paid for those repairs yourself. I paid around $2400 for my six year plan in late Jan 2023. I had two small claims, one toilet not flushing, the other a bad heating element in the hot water heater. All went well with their response and repair. No problem. But then, my A/C unit stopped cooling and that is when the good times came to a halt. Keep in mind this happened in late May 2023 when the temps in Southwest Texas were high 90s to low 100s. They sent out their technician but did not like what he had to say so they cancelled him. Then they scheduled another tech but he never showed up or called. I contacted the tech and they said they would not respond as I was too far away. I contacted Choice immediately by their online system. VERY slow getting back to me. Eventually sent another tech who diagnosed the problem which Choice denied because they determined the broken item could not have occurred as a result of normal wear and usage. My A/C unit was 16 years old, well past the normal lifespan of an A/C unit and yet they determined the breakage was NOT caused due to normal usage. Due to their denial I paid their tech $400 out of my pocket to fix the broken item. A/C worked for two days and then went out again. Their tech told me the unit was just so old that continually putting Band-Aids on it was not going to do the job. He said the entire unit needed to be replaced. I then filed another claim after the second failure and after approximately a week Choice finally responded and stated the second break down was caused as a result of the first problem (which they had previously denied coverage) and therefore they were denying coverage for this second claim also. Oh, and I might also add that the time frame for all the above was 6 weeks. I had sent them multiple messages literally begging them to take action as I was a 75 year old veteran having a very difficult time dealing with the extreme heat. These messages had little to no impact on their actions. At the point where they denied my second claim I was completely fed up. I immediately cancelled my contract. They then sent me a check for $1542. I sent two messages to Choice requesting a detailed statement showing how that number was derived but have never received a response. I can only assume they feel they can withhold funds in any amount they choose without any justification. The day after I cancelled I contacted a long time A/C company in San Antonio who came out and said the only option I had was to replace the unit which I did to the tune of $7000. If you haven't already figured it out my level of disgust for this company is limitless. If you take nothing from my review then just take one small piece of advice ... NEVER, go longer than a one-year contract. Just imagine that you take the six year plan and four years into it you decide you cannot deal with their level of "customer service" so you cancel. Remember they are going to withhold funds for all the repairs they have done during the 4 years prior to cancellation. I think it is pretty obvious that contracting with Choice is a win win for them and a lose lose for you.

Choice home warranty seemed great until I had to make a claim. It was a simple claim for our hot water heater and seven weeks later we are still waiting for repair and we are on our third plumber because Choice Home warranty won't approve the repairs. I have reached out several time and have been told to be patient. I feel like 7 week and no repair is patient. They answer is I can get someone myself and they will pay part. That is not what I signed up for. They have not been helpful and mostly condescending. They keep making promises and never follow up. The plumbers in this area are telling me this is normal and that choice looks more like a scam. I have told that to Choice and that hasn't changed anything. I would not suggest anyone using this warranty company.

wish I could do NO STARS...I live in Mississippi in a small town that is 30min to Clarksdale and a hour to Memphis TN.... Ive been having a work order in sense November 2022 for my airducts undermy house and air conditioner.....Choice made 2 appointments but No one ever showed up plus I took off work each time ...last one canceled about 1 hour before he was due at my house...When I called to talk to Choice they kept saying sorry and they put a rush on it..Never happen. The contractor they sent to do my fans and a fan switch broke my son bed ..and gave me a quote on a gas leak under my house to find out they never even went under my house because the crawlspace has a lock on it...they put the fans in wrong and I had to buy new ones... There good reviews r so fake...DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY...If you live in a big City you may have more luck..
