Customer Support was good. I just called them up and they sent somebody out to fix my issue. It's been a positive experience.

We chose them for value and price, but customer support was terrible, they did not want to help me. They cancelled me because we disagreed on the issue that they didn't want to fix the problem, and I stopped using them, they were a terrible company. I would recommend them to my worst enemy.

I read about it and thought it sounded good. Well, it hasn't been good. I've called them 3 times to have some plumbing work done, and 3 times I haven't got them to come out and do it. That's the only time I've tried to use them.

Customer support was great, but I had to use my warranty to fix my air-conditioner, and they refused to help. I originally went with them because of the premium receipt, but they will, in fact, not pay for your items. There is a problem trying to get them to be able to put the claim in, and they find ways to not pay it. Don't use them.

I saw it in an advertisement, that's all it had— good advertisement— and I thought they had a lot to offer. I had a bad experience every time I would call, for any items that were definitely covered in my contract, whether it was plumbing or an appliance; I was never satisfied. It's always been a bad experience with them.

They are the worst. It’s a complete scam. They sell you a plan and tell you if they can’t fix it, they replace replace it, all for a $75 charge each incident. Well they replaced my water heater and “my part” was over $2000. I could have had it done for that myself without the warranty. Then when that water heater leaked they denied the claim saying it was water damage and they only cover normal wear and tear. Well why did it start leaking? Also if the technician comes three times, you pay him $75 3 times. I appealed and the nastiest person ever called me and basically told me to piss off in the rudest tone possible, I didn’t even bother arguing with her. It takes days to weeks, no exaggeration, for them to get someone to your house and it’s never a reputable company, more like folks off Craigslist. I’ve never had another warranty so I can’t compare but please do yourself a favor and don’t pick this one.

1) water came thru ceiling from the roof. I was told the repair is not covered 2) had new furnance installed thru Choice. When weather changed, ran the heat. Only cool air is blowing out. Furnance repair came out. New furnance needs a board replaced. Choice would NOT cover the board replacement. Now, I have to pay out of pocket for roof repair and furnance board replacement.

I cannot remember the last time I worked with a company that wasted so much of my time or left me so frustrated with their process. Every interaction I’ve had with Choice Home Warranty has turned into a logistical nightmare, and my most recent experience with a plumbing backup in the master bathroom is a perfect example. According to Choice’s own policy (from their website, “User Agreement,” point 13 under PLUMBING SYSTEM/STOPPAGE), coverage includes: • Clearing of sink, bathtub, shower, and toilet stoppages. • Clearing of mainline drain and sewer stoppages through an accessible cleanout up to 100 feet. • Clearing of lateral drain line stoppages up to 100 feet from an access point including accessible cleanout, p-trap, drain, or overflow access points. The technician they sent suggested removing a toilet to access the line. Because of this, my claim was denied — on the grounds that it did not involve an “accessible ground-level clean out.” The plumber then suggested an alternative: going through the shower sink drain, which would provide proper access without removing anything. He even contacted the company directly, and I followed up by phone. Unfortunately, no one at Choice gave us timely feedback, so the plumber had to leave and I was forced to reschedule. When I finally received a call back, I was told I had to go through the online appeals process, which I completed. A representative later informed me that the claim was still denied, this time claiming that accessibility must come from a mainline which had to be ground level. There is mainline accessibility from my basement but apparently this doesn’t qualify as “ground level”. So i said to them what you're suggesting to me is that the only remedy for a backed up master bathroom is for the technician to go outside find the sewer access hole and then run 100 feet worth of snake to get my main bathroom unplugged. In other words, despite several clear access options that fit the contract language, they found reasons to refuse coverage. This policy actually belongs to my 91-year-old mother whom I am helping, and the whole process has been incredibly inconvenient and stressful for both of us. I suggested my mother stop paying their policy until we get resolution but she informed me she paid for the entire three years up front which would certainly make denning claims more profitable. From my perspective, it feels like the company is deliberately using semantics to avoid paying legitimate claims. I cannot recommend Choice Home Warranty to anyone. Their customer service, claim handling, and overall process have caused nothing but wasted time, frustration, and disappointment

They will only pay the cheapest possible to fix your problems, and it may take a long time to get it fixed. They won't even do what is necessary to ensure you get the full use of the systems they are repairing. For example, my heat pump wasn't working, it turned the thermostat failed. Even though I have a variable speed unit and 7 day programmable thermostat, they only would pay for the most basic thermostat that can't utilize the variable speed and wasn't programmable. So, if I used that thermostat, the unit wouldn't be able to utilize its high efficiency. Oh, and they don't tell you about this ahead of time. I also had to wait 2 weeks in the heat of summer to find this out.

One of the worst home warranty companies ever. But I believe they are all terrible. What’s the point of having a home warranty company when the customer has to do all the work and wait around and wait around and wait around!? It’s an absolute joke. Choice home warranty Took almost 3 weeks to get somebody out here in the heat of Summer to check our AC unit. Then our dishwasher went out and it took them a month to send a replacement. There is no expediting anything for the customer. You’re paying a premium for basically nothing. It’s more of a headache to have this company and work with them. Do not recommend!

My air conditioning system has a slow leak. The technician they sent out determined there was a crack in my in-home portion, and a new coil may be required. It was never made clear to me in my conversations with the sales people (of the warranty) that if the repairs require replacing and parts not compatible with your old system, or if they add any other new systems (outdoor – which works fine) needed because of the appliance changes, you pay for the new parts both required and necessary for the repair their way. The sales person was misleading and I believe CHOICE Home Warranty is a big scam – creating a need for newer parts, even those that are working fine. The repair businesses get a kick back, of course. I am going to report this misleading of coverage, this failure to repair all parts required for a fix and misleading warranty info to the BBB and the Michigan Attorney General. I, obviously, do not approve any work or purchase of parts for my repair. It’s thousands of dollars just because appliances are regularly changed, improved and become incompatible with the newer equipment. This can not be right. They must be able to find a way to repair the leak without making me purchase a whole new system -inside and out. I regret signing on with CHOICE. They literally gave me no choice!

I have had Choice for over 10 years and didn't have a problem with them until now. After my yearly inspection, it was found that the heat exchanger on my furnace had cracks in it resulting in the system being shut down and condemned which is normal. I filed a claim with Choice who sent out a technician who inspected the unit and stated it had to be replaced. Choice denied it and sent out two more companies who both said the same thing yet Choice decided to ignore their own technicians and state they would only approve replacing the heater exchanger on an 18 year old furnace with which all 3 of their technicians plus the technician I had that originally found the problem all said replacing the heat exchanger on such an old unit was not safe and the only safe thing was to replace the unit. However in the infinite wisdom of a technician at Choice who probably hasn't worked on a unit in years, HE decided they will only approve replacing the heat exchanger ignoring the health and safety of me and my family. This certainly tells me Choice is more interested in their bank account than they are in the safety of their customers. Over the years I have recommended Choice to many of my friends and neighbors who all took out a contract with Choice. I will never recommend Choice to anyone any more. As a result of their inconsideration I now must take out a loan to cover the expense of replacing the unit that they, by contract, are refusing to cover. Rest assured when my contract expires I will not be renewing it.

Pushy sales for more than I wanted and made clear wasn't going to sign on for and yet continued to try and pitch the sales for a 5-6 year plan pay up front. Good reviews but seems very obvious kick back for how much you sign up for

I switched from another company to CHW because the agent on the phone convinced me how comprehensive the coverage was. Nope. I purchased an older home last year which passed inspection before my purchase. This year, I had a leak under the kitchen sink. CHW has denied coverage because the piping wasn't done correctly. If they don't cover items as is, why bother even having a warranty? Now there is a musty smell in the cabinet. If it's black mold will they cover that? Will they cover replacing of the bottom of the cabinet regardless of cause? Im not spending money on another service call to be told that the issue isn't covered. I've made other arrangements to fix the problem. Also, they send notices about appointment times which are not correct. You have to call the provider to schedule the appointment. The technician who came out was excellent. He called about 20 minutes prior to tell me he was on the way. He was polite and friendly. He said the fix was easy and thought that it would be a covered repair. Needless to say, I will look for another company when renewal time comes around. So far I think these companies are worthless based on my 2 experiences

I am sorry this warranty company is a scam. I have a $1000 appliance that stopped working. It took three weeks for a service person, handpicked by CHW, show up. I tried to get CHW to find another service person multiple times, but they would not change the appointment. The service person showed up and determined two parts were needed. It took three weeks for the parts to come in. Then, it took another two weeks for the service person to return and put in the parts. Yup, that did not fix the appliance. One week later, CHW notified us that they would not fix the appliance, but would cut us a check to buy a new one. Well, they gave us under $350. I contacted the manufacturer, and asked them for a quotation for replacement of like kind. That would be $1,250 retail. I have read the policy many times, and it does not guarantee replacement cost. Instead, they offer "their cost" for an appliance with similar specs. $350 is all! I asked them to please tell me where they could buy a similar appliance for that amount. They could not give me an answer. I tried to push this up the chain, but there is no leadership chain. Just dead ends. There is no way to negotiate or justify for a different amount. They said we could decline the settlement, which means just not take the check, and they would close the claim. Oh, they also will not pay for delivery or installation of a replacement appliance. That is in the policy. I would absolutely avoid CHW. We have tried twice to get them to pay for broken appliances, and both times we received less than 25% of the cost of getting and installing a new one of like kind. We used to have American Home Shield. While they were also a bit tight with the reimbursements, they were significantly more reasonable. AHS was also significantly better at getting a prompt service visit and response.

Our A/C has been out since July 3. They never found a technician to come out so I found my own. The company I chose doesn't work with warranty companies, and Choice Home won't authorize a reimbursement unless the company uploads their diagnosis. I have the paperwork, but cannot upload it myself because Choice Home won't accept it from me. They keep promising to email me, and even though I have confirmed my email twice with them, they have yet to send an email. I left a message to have a supervisor call me , and I still haven't received a call back. We had an issue with our washing machine, and their tech just didn't show up. Then, they sent someone else, and that person didn't even use the replacement parts, just used Lock-tite to keep the old part in place. Our ceiling fans needed service, and the tech called 5 minutes before arrival - no prior notification - so no one was home for the service. This happened twice.

The messaging to me about my service was so delayed. I didn’t even get a notice a tech was assigned until I saw the temporary hold voided on my card which prompted me to go onto my account and see the appointment. Then had the tech not personally texted me I wouldn’t have known his timing at all. The email saying your tech is on the way happened after he left.

So, Please all the fine prints. We have a KitchenAid 36 inch electric 5 burner that went bad. So Choice W decided it's best to replace it instead of fixing it. Our whole kitchen is KitchenAid. The cooktop cost $1400. So CHW gave us $500 to replace it. Not even half. As the manager said, there a bunch of " cheap" ones at there for that price. Think abot that next time they ask you to renew
